Sara-Lin stood in line, full of annoyance. She hated watching the Upper class torment the Lower. She had no plans of getting picked. Most people did want to get picked. Not her, she planned on looking as distasteful as possible. She wore a long, green ratty sweater, with torn and worn-out jeans. She wasn't wearing any shoes though. Many people passed without looking at her tag or even giving her a second look. "Well it looks like it's working," She muttered.

Emery

The chaos that had taken over the room was crazy. Emery quickly came to the side of Mr. Suzuki, "Are you ok?" He said in a rushed worried tone. Emery was surprised some random Lower Class would do something so stupid. 1.) The room was heavily guarded. 2.) If she gets caught she'll die. 3.) If it weren't for Mr. Suzuki most people in the world would be dead. He felt urged to run over to the girl and slap her back, violence is never the answer, but karma is. "It doesn't look like it hurt to bad." Emery had let out a small laugh to fill the uncomfortable moment. Being down over the man he smiled, "The red hand print should go away soon and it doesn't look like that kick left any damage." Walking around him Emery cuffed his arms under his and helped him to his feet.

Looking around the room it no long had the awkward strange feeling from the start, it was replaced with the hope and fear of others. From the conor of his right eye he could see the monstrous girl being caught. "Good." He said turning his attention back to Mr. Suzuki, "They caught the girl." At this point it was obvious she had been anti-Venus or something along those lines and most likely had planning something like this for weeks. This was the first bidding he'd been to, but he had heard stories about situations like this, usually the antis' were killed or imprisoned for strewing up trouble in what was suppose to be simple and happy. This was no longer so simple.

Most of the Upper Class had left, probably from the fear of being killed or injured from the rampage of Lower Class that wanted to escape or the Upper Class that was trying to reclaim there purchases. Emery had had a few bids on him today, and in the crowd he could see all of them leaving the scene, meaning he was now his idols. He was happy that the one he was going to live with he already knew about, if made him calm, but Emery had his father to worry about. With a sigh Emery pushes the thought of his father away, his father did need his help, but Emery couldn't depress himself with the thought of it, he didn't want to ruin him self being purchased with a bad mood.

That wasn't expected.

Donatello may be a genius, but he wasn't very strong. Emery helped him up, but anger was still boiling in him. Before he returned from the stage he went to Sara-lin. "If brains were made of gold, I would be far more rich" He got his cigarette and pressed it on her neck, leaving a burn. "You may know me. You may not either way. I am the reason people are still alive and breathing" His voice turned low and husky. almost as if he was whispering, " Don't assume, I enjoy that they are. You have no idea what I did to get here, and how much of a waste it is". He walked a few steps away and smiled and looked at Synclaire. He walked back to Sara-lin and whispered in her ear "Don't think you've fooled me".

When the the bidding began he sat in the chair bored. People screaming out names and numbers, it almost gave him a migraine. But he became lost in thought of what had just happened. It seemed almost like a dream, except that his stomach was still in pain. Not many people disagreed with the idea of Venus pills. Mostly because everyone was blinded by the idea of life and death. One was good, another bad. Which one was which? He smiled. Maybe they were meant to die young. He heard of the time where people lived to 100 years, not long ago. But if nature just decided to shorten the human's life-span. That would mean. I invented a cheat from death. But that wasn't as important as what Sara-lin might actually do. He looked around, a girl with that much moxie, would be a little more intelligent. The atmosphere changed completely, it felt as if something was going to pop out of nowhere.

He lost thought when the man shouted Emery's name. Donatello looked up with confusion. Something overcame him and he shouted, "3 million dollars". His eyes widened. He didn't even think about it. 3 million wasn't much to him, but why did he buy someone. What was wrong with him.

Emery

He watched Mr. Suzuki talk to the girl who'd kicked him, it was obvious it wasn't a friendly talk. Emery wanted to follow, but he knew that's be out of order. Soon guards came over to all the Lower Class and helped them straighten up the line. "The biddings will start soon." An announcer called over the intercom in an excited voice to help build good excitement. Looking out into the coward he could see the sparkles fly across the crowd as they waited for the biddings to begin.

"Who wants to start the bidding for Amy Coll!" And then the yelling wars began. He heard the yelling and the names and random numbers being called from the Upper Class trying to claim the prize they wanted. It was now nosier then it was when people were trying to escape.

"Now who wants the handsome Emery?" The crowd was in hysteria when his name was called. He could hear woman yelling from the range one thousand to possibly to five thousand, but then over all rang the three million out burst that came from Mr. Suzuki. For a moment it was like the whole room was in shock that the man had bought someone, something Emery knew he'd never done. "Sold, for three million!" The announcer said as a grown of sad women filled the silence and then the biddings and yelling started once again.

Emery was escorted by a man to the back stage behind a curtain. "You're new owner will come back here to get you at anytime." He was told and then the man left him to go back to the front part of the stage. Taking in a deep breath Emery sat down in a chair filled with happiness that he was bought. To him it was surprisingly quiet behind the curtain, it was more relaxing. With a smile glued to Emery's face he waited for Mr. Suzuki.

Sara-Lin heard glass shatter. Perfect. Everyone looked around, confused. More glass shattered, then all hell broke loose.

People poured in from every opening in the building, carrying weapons. The fake guards let her go and tackled the Upper Class. Sara-Lin saw the only man that stopped at her spot. The yelled out and tackled him. She flipped him over and put her foot on his chest.

"You really thought I was that dumb, to attack you in a room full of guards? You have always thought you were so tough. I could crush your windpipe and kill you right now. But I'm not," Sara-Lin motioned for a fake guard to come over. "Do whatever you'd like with him,"

Sara-Lin walked out of the building.

Sara-Lin sat in her chair at the hideout. Everyone from the group gathered in front of her. She motioned for a little girl to speak to her. "Are all the weapons, maps and vans ready?" The girl nodded and gave a small smile. She jumped up on Sara-Lin's lap. "Do you really think we can do this?" Sara-Lin looked at her little sister a long time. "I don't know Meredith. I hope so. You stay here, and keep the door locked. I don't want anyone coming in here," Sara-Lin placed Meredith on the ground and stood up. "I just hope that people can just stop paying for these pills and just get them off the streets for no money at all. Too many people are dying, and the upper class couldn't care less," Sara-Lin Kissed Meredith on the fore-head. "I have to go now. Don't open the door. We'll open it with our keys," Meredith nodded and waved as Sara-Lin and the rest of the group walked out the door.

Sara-Lin calmly steered the van, following four others. Everyone in the van was dead silent. Most of them were in deep thought, others were staring out the window. Sara-Lin sighed. She knew that for her, that this would most likely be a one way trip for her. everyone else would probably get out. She was going to be the first one in, and distracting the guards. She had gotten the most dangerous and hardest job. To hold the thought that she might just die.

All the vans in front of Sara-Lin suddenly stopped. Sara-Lin stepped on the brake. She opened the window and leaned out. "What the heck is going on up there?" The driver of the first van stepped out holding on to something. Sara-Lin opened the door and stepped out. She walked closer and squinted. She suddenly walked faster. "Meredith! I told you to stay put!"

Sara-Lin turned to Meredith. "Get in the last van and wait for me," Meredith hung her head and headed for the van. Sara-Lin turned to the driver. "What should we do?' He shrugged. "I could take your job and your passengers while you take Meredith home," Sara-Lin stared at him and lowered her voice. "Yo know whoever does that job is going to be killed," He sighed. "we could just put fireworks or something in the front," Sara-Lin sighed. "FIne. But I am coming back as soon as I can. I'll get the passengers,"

Sara-Lin drove in silence. She looked in the rearview mirror, and watched Meredith stare back. "Why did you come? I told you to stay put," Meredith looked up and stared at the back of Sara-Lin's head. "Well I uh-" Suddenly, a loud shot rand through the van, and shrapnel flew everywhere, and Sara-Lin spotted a bullet hole in the side of the roof. "Holy crap! Get down on the floor now!"

Sara-Lin looked back at Meredith. Suddenly, the car hit a bump and rolled over. Glass shattered everywhere. As soon as it stopped, Sara-Lin unbuckled and turned to the back seat and picked up Meredith. "Are you okay?' Sara-Lin asked. Meredith took a shaky breath and nodded her head. Sara-Lin carried Meredith out, when another shot fired. Meredith screamed. Sara-Lin stared at the bullet-hole in Meredith's side. Sara-Lin froze. Another shot hit Meredith in the leg. Sara-Lin screamed. "No Meredith, no. No stay with me stay-" A shot hit Sara-Lin in the leg. Sara-Lin screamed and ran as fast as she could, even with the limp, Meredith dangling in her arms. She spotted a mansion. They would recognize her, but they wouldn't recognize Meredith. She quickly put Meredith on the doorstep, rang the doorbell and hid in the thick shrubbery, hoping that someone would take pity on Meredith.

Donatello didn't know what to say. He just stared at the ceiling. 8 years of silence was hard to break. It was always him alone. "what about?". He'd give it a try.

Jane walked in right after. "Master Suzuki, There's someone at the door".

"If it's the Government, tell them to fuck off"

"No. It's something more..... urgent"

He got up and made way to the front door. And there were a bunch of maids huddled around something. He walked through to see a little girl drenched in blood. Just great. Some poor person probably left it here expecting me to take care of it.

"Put her out of her misery"

"What?!" the maids said in unison.

"Shoot her in the head. Break her neck. Find a guillotine for all I care. Just get rid of it"

One aid cleared her throat to get his attention, "This will only ruin your reputation. Which is already a bit unbalanced."

He sighed. He couldn't care less about what people thought of him, but with the attacks this was safest thing to do. "Clean her up. Call a doctor. And once she's fully healed I'll see about it". He watched as they picked up the girl and ran to bathroom, all at the same time. Like they were a school of fish. He took a moment to look out the door. Who would just put a kid on a doorstep and run. There was a small ruffling sound near the bushes, he stared at it wonder whether he should look or not. He walked outside and looked around not finding anything.

"You don't have to worry anymore!" He yelled hoping that the person was there. "I'll take care of her. I'll try at least. I'm sorry for your troubles, but I assure you she'll be okay"

He walked into his study, lit a cigarette and started massaging his head. He turned his head to the papers on his desk and sighed. "Master Suzuki, we're finished cleaning the girl wounds". He growled, "Go away". So much had happened in the day, he wanted to just shoot himself. He lied down on the couch and began drifting away in the silence.

Sara-LIn made sure the coast was clear. She dragged herself across the town and eventually reached the lower class doctor. She was very weak. She knocked on the door and passed out.

She woke up with multiple bandages on her thigh. Her friend smiled at her. "We did it," Sara-Lin smiled, then fell back asleep. The next time Sara-Lin woke up, she was alone. She rolled out of the bed and stood up. "Aggg!" She yelled. She hobbled towards a door and opened it. She walked out into the waiting room, and no one was there. She walked towards Dr. Matthew's office. She opened the door. He smiled at her. "I can already guess. Need some surgery and a new I.D. She nodded. "Your new name is Wendy Johnson. Now, lay on the table. We're going to make you look unrecognizable.

Sara-Lin unraveled the bandages. "Perfect!" She smiled. She looked down at her leg and rubbed it. "Feels better," She muttered. She laid back in the hospital bed.

Meredith opened her eyes. A bunch of woman leaned over her. "Where is she?" Meredith yelled. She knew that she shouldn't say her sister's name.

Sara-LIn wondered about Meredith. WHo she was with. What it was like. She probably was praying right now, like she usually did. She usually prayed for more than an hour, and used PTA (Praise Thank Ask) to help her find a subject. Sara-Lin was very worried about the place she put her in, but hoped that she would be taken care of.

"It's so lonely"

"Spend eight years of it, you'll get used to it".He let out another cloud of smoke. "Haven't I helped people enough. But no. Always so selfish. You help decrease death. Then they want you to cure it completely. then they want everyone to live the same amount of years. Now someone drops a child in my door step, because they can't take care of it themselves. Expecting me to help. Haven't I done enough. No one cares what I want. It's all for the greater good they say. Bullshit".

Donatello looked up to see Emery, his patience was wearing thin. Usually he'd throw something at anyone who came in his study, but this was Emery. Too delicate. He was going to have to get used to having company. He stood up and walked to his desk. Old photographs scattered around it. Anger filled him and he push them off, and flipped the desk over. He walked out of the room to Emery and looked straight into his eyes. "Why doesn't anyone simply expect the fact we are to die. Death is as natural as life. So why doesn't everyone stop trying to run away from what's inevitable". He smirked, "It doesn't matter if I talk about this to anyone. It's not going to change anything. The rumors won't stop. Have you ever heard of what they say?".

He looked to his right to see one of the workers trying to get his attention. "The child is speaking". Donatello looked back at Emery with a fake smile and gave him a kiss, before calmly walking to where the worker was leading him.

Once he saw the girl, he noticed she looked familiar. Now he wasn't the type to ever be found near children, but the girl's face didn't feel right. He cleared his throat and went right in front of her looking down, he asked. "Now what's a little thing like you doing near a gunfight?"

Meredith looked at the man in front of her. "I don't remember," Meredith lied. She looked at the man. "Who are you?"

"Wendy" sat in the waiting room, when her vice leader came through the door. "How's it going with your leg. By the way, Dr. Matthews did a great job on your face. You still look like Meredith, but don't look like yourself," He said. "When are you going to pick her up?" He asked. "To be honest, I don't know. I'm going to tell them some nut job kidnapped her and shot her, and probably left her on the doorstep. It sounds shady, but it's a story," "Wendy" sighed. "I've gone by a lot of names, not knowing my real one, but Sara-Lin is my favorite. I've been Mia, Lisa, Shirley, Amelia and Cassidy, but I liked Sara-Lin the best," "Wendy" sighed. "I'll pick Meredith up in two days,"

Meredith leaned forward and closed her eyes. She folded her hands together. She needed to pray. She prayed for awhile, before a voice asked, "What you praying about?" Without hesitating, Meredith answered. "Everything,"

Emery

Doni's reaction to what Emery said was both shocking and expected. Emery hadn't thought how Doni how felt about anything, just the feelings of others. Guilt. He started to feel bad from the points that had just been started, so far it seemed like everyone did expect Doni to help. Emery was a big people pleaser and loved help, but Doni clearly wasn't him and he shouldn't have expected. Emery's next question in mind was why did Doni live alone for eight years? Emery couldn't even see himself living alone for a week! The fact of him being alone for so long now made sense to him why he wasn't the warmest person. When Doni for up he watched him walk over to a desk when photos began rushing towards the floor. Being curious he wanted to get closer and look and also help Doni pick them up, but before he could Doni had flipped his desk over. When Doni had then walked over to him he didn't know what to expect at this point, but he got a smirk and a kiss of dismissal. "Sorry." Emery had muttered quietly after receiving a kiss.

When Doni then turned his attention to the young looking girl Emery felt annoyed that he was no longer getting the attention he wanted. He noticed the girl didn't look in the best shape, but still he didn't feel like sharing the attention he had just claimed back. When the girl asked who Doni was he found it funny, who didn't know who he was? Doni was the reason why so many people were alive, and it seemed like Doni didn't care to much about that though.

Meredith waited for the man to leave. Then she hopped off the couch. "I hate this place," She wondered around, then came to a large room. The sign read, Keep out. "Well, I forgot how to read then," Meredith mumbled. She carefully opened the door. Inside, were a large supply of venus pills. Meredith slowly closed the door behind her. "Wow. She spotted a rusted metal door and opened it. Nothing was in there. Meredith smiled. It was a very large space. She stuffed all the bottles in the door and closed it. Then she crept out of the room and went to the kitchen.

Another visitor came into Sara-Lin's room. Her name was Beatrice, and she had been like family to both Meredith and Sara-Lin. "Hey Wendy," Beatrice sat down next to Sara-Lin. "You know, the people who you dropped off Meredith to, aren't going to be very happy you did. I could do it for you," Sara-Lin sighed. "I don't know, she's my responsibility," Beatrice sighed. "At least let me come with you, What did the house look like?" Sara-Lin thought for a second. "It was at the edge of the town, white, had two fountains, lots of bushes and topiary. There was a huge black brick walkway to the door," Sara-LIn said. "No-No please DON'T tell me you dropped her off there! That's-That's," "What?" Sara-Lin asked. Beatrice lowered her voice. "Dontaello Suzuki's house," "WHAT? I dropped my SISTER off at HIS house?" Sara-Lin pounded her head with her fists. "How could I be so stupid?" Sara-Lin sighed. "Yo can get her. I'm not risking being captured by him," Beatrice put a hand on Sara-Lin's shoulder. "I'll pick her up tomorrow,"

Sara-Lin drummed her fingers frantically on the counter. She and Beatrice were discussing the raid. She couldn't focus. She keep thinking about Meredith. This was terrible. She was scared and worried. Beatrice sighed. "I'll just pick up Meredith now. I'll just saw I'm her cousin, and I'll say she runaway. The end," Sara-Lin took a shaky breath. "Thanks," "See yah later Wendy," Beatrice walked out.

Meredith looked at the uncomfortable dress she was wearing. It had lots of lace but it itched.

Emery

Letting out a puff he got up and quickly followed behind Doni. He was happy his kiss was returned, but he hated that right after it he was left. Emery was confused about how Doni felt about him, obviously he didn't care about him to much, but he wasn't sure were he stood with him. Do far he felt like a toy, as his mother use to call them. He was told stories of different type of Upper Class spouses. Some were taken care of and loved, the Carers. Others were just used for children, Birth Women, something that Emery couldn't be used for. Then there were the toys, the ones that were taken care of but never loved not hated; that's how Emery was feeling and so far he didn't like it. He didn't like the feeling of closeness and then seconds later getting pushed away, it was to confusing for him.

When back in the home Emery wasn't pleased to once again seeing the strange girl getting attention. It was bothersome for Emery that Doni was letting her receive anything from him. Why was she taking Venus? With a few good guesses he presumed that once she left she probably wanted to give the medication to her loved ones, but stealing was always wrong and unfair. Emery had helped out at a hospital for years where he was consistently around Venus and could have taken the pill at anytime, but that would have been wrong since he didn't have the money to afford it.

He silently followed the two of them as Doni pulled the girl to the wardrobe room. It still was boggling Emery's mind why this girl was still getting help. At first he found it alright, but she was caught trying to steal, shouldn't she have gotten kicked out for that?

Meredith waited for the tailor to leave. "UGH!" She cried. She took off the dress and got back into her clothes. She reached into her pocket. Still there. It was the knife that Sara-Lin had given her. She smiled and stared at the blade. She stabbed it into the wall and dragged it around until she had finished saying what she wanted to say. Suck it! she read. Perfect. She carefully opened the window and climbed out onto the ledge. She climbed up onto the roof. She was scared of the house, not heights. She loved standing on high platforms actually. Th world was wonderful from here, and no one would find her. She would stay up here until she felt like sneaking out. If Sara-Lin or one of her friends came, she would toss a pine cone at them. Then they would look up and see her. She just had to wait.

Sara-Lin stared at her wound. Who had done this to her? And why? It still throbbed and hurt. She rubbed it. She then stared at the small gift for Meredith. It was for when she was older, but only for her. The rest of the Venus pills were given out. No one even knew that the scientist were somewhere in the middle of no where with amnesia.

Donatello walked in to see what the little girl had wrote on is wall. He smiled, and put his hand through the letters to feel the rough wall behind the ripped paint. Children were always fascinating to him, not that he wanted one. No mater what you do to them they'll never appreciate you. Give them clothes, food, shelter, and heal their wounds. Still they'll never be satisfied, and it never fades from them. Of course children start out empty, pathetic things that need nurturing. They're like blank sheets of paper, and the people who care for them are like pens, scribbling whatever nonsense they must to create a human with idea they want them to live with. Who was the writer for this child? Something inside of him said to push her off the railing, but he didn't listen to it. Instead he sat next to her. He chuckled when he saw the knife. "What more do you want from me?" He looked at her. "I give you everything you need, then you try to hide my pills then ruin my wall. Do you want a bigger room, better food, a pony". He tried to look into the girls eyes. "I been wasting my life failing at making other people happy. If I can't make a little girl happy you can just stab me already." His voice grew soft and gentle, something told him to not let his anger out. "Heh, you remind me of this girl I met at a sale earlier this morning. I teased her and almost bought her, but then she kicked me then ended up attacking everyone. But the funny thing is, she was so proud. All she did was kill people. Just because I'm rich doesn't mean I'm a complete asshole. Funny I'm even talking to you, after all you've done." He lightly stroked her cheek, but it wasn't to mock her, he wanted to comfort her. "Now that I think about it, we don't even know each others name. I'm Donatello Suzuki. What's yours?" He put his hand out for her to shake.

Meredith shook his hand. "Meredith. By the way, Just because I'm seven, doesn't mean I'm an idiot or just a small child. By the way, she didn't kill people. She fought for what she believed in. Hate to break it to you, but her group just handed out a huge truckload of venus to lower class. That girl, is my sister.I am PROUD of her. She didn't kill anyone. The attack was MY idea. You think that you can win over kids with toys, new clothes and fancy meals? No! They want to be appreciated! They want someone they can talk to anytime about any thing! That's what Sara-Lin has done to me. That's what my sister did to me," Meredith responded, then turned her back to him.
