"It's been a while since someone actually noticed me these past couple of years..."

a character in “Clearing your Eyes”, as played by けい-ちゃん

Description

Image

Name: Ritsu Von Redeve
Age: Around his early 500s, but seen as a 19-22 year old
Race: Youkai
Role: Youkai #1
Gender: Male
Spirit of: The Fox
Personality: Like most people, Ritsu has his times when he can become a bit annoyed and angry, but generally, he's very calm, protective, and kind. Because of his past incidents, Ritsu comes off as quite protective, perhaps even more than expected. He is aware of almost everything around him, and just like a fox, his eyes will shift to any sound he can hear. He's not only like this towards his human family, but to all of his Youkai that he knows, or just all of them actually. Especially since his race is dying, he usually thinks twice and takes caution while doing anything.
Yet knowing this, Ritsu is very tolerant, calm, and caring. It's rare you'd see him annoyed or angry, so he's usually very content and at peace, almost looking as if he was half asleep most the time. He's not exactly the type of person who knows what to do when someone cries, unless a child, but always tries his hardest (doesn't really show it) to make things better in the end.

✔ Ritsu also is surprisingly very good at dodging anything coming towards him, no matter the speed
Hobbies:
# Ritsu will occasionally walk around a lake or pond, just to get a nice sight once in a while
# He will also visit some Youkai here and there just to be with his family again since their race is dying
Bio: Ritsu, as a new Youkai to the world when he was younger, had already made a deal with a family without even knowing it. His first master was a little girl with short brown hair, who was always childish, stubborn, and clumsy. Unlike current time, Ritsu didn't know how to take care of children, or even socialize with people since he never knew how invisible he was. All he did was watch the little girl play around in the meadows near her small house, and simply watch her from a far. Obviously, the two became friends as the years past, even with the little speech they had. One day though, this little girl got married to a little boy he used to know. Ritsu didn't know anything like romance, so he didn't know why the little girl told him that she had already found someone else to protect her and watch over her. Years passed, spring, summer, fall, and winter, until one day the little girl passed away from something called old age. He didn't know what that meant either, living for over a hundred years, but was very lonely without her. It's only a few years later when he began to watch over other children and humans that couldn't see him, wanting to protect them just like he did with his first master who he never understood.
Other: Ritsu is very good with children, no matter how rude or crazy they may get, and tends to take a liking to them most of the time, even though most of the time they can't even see him.

Ritsu Von Redeve

Ritsu, as always, was sitting on the edge of the forest's branches, watching the children walk home in their little groups from school. He remembered when his first master would walk home, and greet him with that childish smile of hers. He seemed to have adored the girl, but never understood why she never came back after 100 years of him waiting. But, being a patient spirit as he was, decided to not question her, and kept silent, still wondering, but never actually asking anyone.

Just in front of him, one of the children had fallen down over a rock. A large scratch was on his knee and he began to cry while his friends ran off to get his mother. Ritsu got a bit anxious and leapt down from the thick branch and kneeled down near the elementary schooler, "H-Hey, are you alright-"

Once he reached his hand out of help the child back onto his feet, perhaps dust away the dirt and even tend to it if possible, his hand seemed to go right past the child, and the child seemed not to even notice. With a tiring sigh, Ritsu stood back up, moving the mask from his face onto the side of his head as he watched the child continue to cry, enduring the pain of watching and not being able to help him.

Kanata Yoribashi

Kanata just got out of high school for the day. Her father was going to move her for the fifth time because she got into various fights at the same school. In fact, she had just gotten in one that same day during lunch time, explaining the reasons why there were so many bandages on her face and body, and why she had missed the last few periods of school in the nurse's office.

While walking, she heard rustling in the bushes. Lucky for her, she always took her bat home, especially since she was on the edge of the forest where most of the Youkai stayed and watched her from afar. Kanata always played some baseball when she wasn't getting bullied by others in her school. It helped her calm down anyways.

As always, she felt eyes staring at her from behind as she past the bush that shook violently. She could easily tell that some Youkai didn't want her on it's property. But it's not as if she cared really. Kanata was the type of stubborn person to follow her own way. If she was walking on territory to get home, she'd walk there, even if some violent, short tempered Youkai didn't like it.

Daisuke smiled at the thought that his master thanked him. He hoped that the breeze he gave Yuki would be enough to express "you're welcome" to her. With the threat of Yuki's beloved bow being taken away gone, Daisuke decided it was time to give the master a little bit of space and race through town in his wolf form. His seventeen year old male facade transformed into a white arctic wolf with light green wind symbols on his sides. His fur was a glistening misty white and slightly translucent and his eyes glowed a dark emerald green. Making sure to run in the direction opposite to Yuki, Daisuke took his stance and bulleted through the small Japanese town towards the forest where he resided.

Zooming through town watching all the people, animals, buildings, and events rush along with the glorious feeling of the wind racing behind him like a vortex was one of his best sensations. It was made even better by the fact that barely anyone could see him and those that could only saw a glimpse of a transparent figure. He caught glimpses of different people and different youkai as he rushed through. The town center’s fountain was surrounded by a multitude of animals, mostly cats, and on its top perched the youkai of the violin, stringing a melody that attracted the animals and a young man with a red left eye. Was that her master? Daisuke asked himself. He stopped quickly to enjoy the youkai’s music and then seeing that the young man was in conversation with her, darted away. Again, Daisuke resumed his run through town, feeling his paws pounding faster and faster on the stone laden streets of town. He huffed and huffed as he ran faster and faster, until he decided to stop again at another interesting sight. Another youkai with crimson eyes seemed to stare blankly at a young man with a kendo sword on his back, let out a “hmph” and moved away from him. At first, Daisuke wanted to watch the scene unfold, but then he said to himself that it was getting late and that it wasn’t his place. So he darted once more to the forest. At the forest’s edge just before the town, he saw two scenes unfoled: a young girl with a bat strolling through as a couple of youkai watch on and a child crying and a fox youkai trying to comfort him. He stopped at the sight of the fox youkai’s gesture to observe what would occur. However, the child was oblivious to the act of kindness the youkai offered. Daisuke felt a little sorry for the youkai, understanding the feeling of not being able to be present to others. He thought about Yuki and how even though she was his master, he could not show himself to her, for she hated the youkai and wanted nothing to do with them.

Suddenly, Daisuke heard a blood curdling scream from the distance using his ability to hear sounds from far away.

“Aaaaaahhhh!!! Help Me!!!!”

Yuki!!! Daisuke thought alarmed that his master was in danger. It sounds like it’s coming from one of the alleyways. I better go help her!

Daisuke raced back into town, trying to follow both the scent and the sound of his master. He searched through many alleyways hearing the fear from his master bouncing on the walls. Finally, he saw Yuki backed up to a wall, facing an evil youkai that took the appearance of a tall male with bow and arrow aimed at Yuki. He had sleek blond hair, crimson red eyes, and was clothed in a long black trench coat that was secured by a leather brown belt.

“You are not worthy…You do not deserve the bow that rests on your back…Hand it over to me…”

Yuki looked exhausted, as though she tried to fight but couldn’t anymore.

Don’t give up Yuki! Fight!

As soon as Daisuke got a little nearer, Yuki started emanating a faint blue glow and suddenly she gained spiritual powers that seemed to severely injure the youkai.

“Uggh… still not worthy…but for now…retreat…” the youkai mustered to say before it disappeared.

Daisuke remembered seeing Yuki emanate that same glow back when her mother was getting attacked by her own youkai. It was what protected her from being killed, after Daisuke couldn’t fend off the demon. Daisuke was happy for Yuki that she was able to protect herself from the youkai, but felt regret that he couldn’t do much for her concerning the youkai, not then and not now. He then ran away towards the forest, tired for the day. Night was going to fall soon and the moon would rise up to show its glowing golden face once more, and Daisuke would how his wolf song of the day: the song of regret.
