Shuichi Wakahisa

Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.???

0 · 383 views · located in Modern Japan

a character in “Clearing your Eyes”, as played by EmbracingIllusions

Description

Image

Name: Shuichi Wakahisa
Age: 18
Race: Human (family member)
Role: Human #4
Gender: Male

Personality

Personality: At first glance Shuichi seems quite cold and rude, which he is, but that is only because he is annoyed at people’s constant staring. He can be quite grumpy at times, but that usually passes fairly quickly and he regains his rude self. But worry not! You only have to tickle his funny bone a little and he’ll warm up to you in no time. He dislikes people who have nothing interesting to say, and would rather spend his time with a Youkai since he finds them much less boring.

Flaws: He is absolutely terrified of cockroaches. He even fainted once at a science fair, where someone was demonstrating how insects (mainly cockroaches) could be used for recycling...
Talents: Ventriloquism
Hobbies: reading crime novels, and people watching

History

Bio: Shuichi has lived quite the normal life up till now, without too much trouble. He was raised in a loving home, with a mom, a dad and an annoying sister. Basically, nothing out of the ordinary, except that he from a young age could see what the adults called Youkai. He has always found Youkai more interesting than humans, who wouldn’t, and his parents often found him talking to something “that wasn’t there”.

When he was young he visited his father at work (take your son to work day) where they were set to tear down an old kitchen. Little did they know before the whole place was filled to the brim with the nastiest creepy crawlies on earth, cockroaches. Shuichi, only 5 years old got some of the stuck under his shirt and in his pants. Desperate to shake the off, he hit his head hard and developed what’s called a hyphema in his left eye (popped blood vessels and stuff), which explains the heterochromia. The doctors removed most of the blood from his eye, but it’s still unnaturally red.

Other: he loves hot fudge

The young woman heard a voice, one that was familiar but older than when she had last heard it. A smiled crossed her face and she ended the melody she was playing, which she had been near to the end anyway. "Ah, but a spirit of the violin will want to play for all to hear. Even if only those who can see us spirits are the ones to hear it. I was thinking I would never find the day in which you heard my tune." She jumped down from the fountain with extreme grace, her violin and the bow disappearing.

She landed on the edge of the fountain beside him, although she stayed standing. "After all, young master, you did not heed my warning tune on the day that you gained your red eye. But I admit, the new color does add a new charm to you. A mysterious one." She quietly laughed. "Certainly adds to the tall, dark, and handsome charm I imagined you to grow up to have. And I guess I predicted right." She looked to him, petting a cat that had crawled onto and laid on her lap. To a normal human, it would seem like the cat was just laying on the edge of the fountain.

"So, young master, what is it that brings you to the center of town? You normally don't traverse through here." She looked to him with a small smile on her face.

Daisuke smiled at the thought that his master thanked him. He hoped that the breeze he gave Yuki would be enough to express "you're welcome" to her. With the threat of Yuki's beloved bow being taken away gone, Daisuke decided it was time to give the master a little bit of space and race through town in his wolf form. His seventeen year old male facade transformed into a white arctic wolf with light green wind symbols on his sides. His fur was a glistening misty white and slightly translucent and his eyes glowed a dark emerald green. Making sure to run in the direction opposite to Yuki, Daisuke took his stance and bulleted through the small Japanese town towards the forest where he resided.

Zooming through town watching all the people, animals, buildings, and events rush along with the glorious feeling of the wind racing behind him like a vortex was one of his best sensations. It was made even better by the fact that barely anyone could see him and those that could only saw a glimpse of a transparent figure. He caught glimpses of different people and different youkai as he rushed through. The town center’s fountain was surrounded by a multitude of animals, mostly cats, and on its top perched the youkai of the violin, stringing a melody that attracted the animals and a young man with a red left eye. Was that her master? Daisuke asked himself. He stopped quickly to enjoy the youkai’s music and then seeing that the young man was in conversation with her, darted away. Again, Daisuke resumed his run through town, feeling his paws pounding faster and faster on the stone laden streets of town. He huffed and huffed as he ran faster and faster, until he decided to stop again at another interesting sight. Another youkai with crimson eyes seemed to stare blankly at a young man with a kendo sword on his back, let out a “hmph” and moved away from him. At first, Daisuke wanted to watch the scene unfold, but then he said to himself that it was getting late and that it wasn’t his place. So he darted once more to the forest. At the forest’s edge just before the town, he saw two scenes unfoled: a young girl with a bat strolling through as a couple of youkai watch on and a child crying and a fox youkai trying to comfort him. He stopped at the sight of the fox youkai’s gesture to observe what would occur. However, the child was oblivious to the act of kindness the youkai offered. Daisuke felt a little sorry for the youkai, understanding the feeling of not being able to be present to others. He thought about Yuki and how even though she was his master, he could not show himself to her, for she hated the youkai and wanted nothing to do with them.

Suddenly, Daisuke heard a blood curdling scream from the distance using his ability to hear sounds from far away.

“Aaaaaahhhh!!! Help Me!!!!”

Yuki!!! Daisuke thought alarmed that his master was in danger. It sounds like it’s coming from one of the alleyways. I better go help her!

Daisuke raced back into town, trying to follow both the scent and the sound of his master. He searched through many alleyways hearing the fear from his master bouncing on the walls. Finally, he saw Yuki backed up to a wall, facing an evil youkai that took the appearance of a tall male with bow and arrow aimed at Yuki. He had sleek blond hair, crimson red eyes, and was clothed in a long black trench coat that was secured by a leather brown belt.

“You are not worthy
You do not deserve the bow that rests on your back
Hand it over to me
”

Yuki looked exhausted, as though she tried to fight but couldn’t anymore.

Don’t give up Yuki! Fight!

As soon as Daisuke got a little nearer, Yuki started emanating a faint blue glow and suddenly she gained spiritual powers that seemed to severely injure the youkai.

“Uggh
 still not worthy
but for now
retreat
” the youkai mustered to say before it disappeared.

Daisuke remembered seeing Yuki emanate that same glow back when her mother was getting attacked by her own youkai. It was what protected her from being killed, after Daisuke couldn’t fend off the demon. Daisuke was happy for Yuki that she was able to protect herself from the youkai, but felt regret that he couldn’t do much for her concerning the youkai, not then and not now. He then ran away towards the forest, tired for the day. Night was going to fall soon and the moon would rise up to show its glowing golden face once more, and Daisuke would how his wolf song of the day: the song of regret.

The tune she played most often was so familiar to him because she would play it for him when he was younger as a lullaby. It was her favorite, one she had made herself. A soothing and happy melody that created a calm atmosphere.

The girl softly smiled when she heard his question and she looked over to him. "You don't remember me, do you?" She stood when he gestured to and she followed close behind him, looking around a bit and then looking back to him. "Well, you were young. I supposed I can't be surprised that you don't remember me, young master." She looked up at the sky, holding her hands in front of her. "I guess the only way you would remember me was if I told you who I was." She smiled more and turned to him, trotting to catch up.

"You would probably remember me as just your imaginary friend. You used to call me Jack, I believe." She quietly laughed again. "You couldn't say Xermallion and you wouldn't call me Drak, so I had you pick a protector's name. And I became Jack. Your imaginary friend, your guardian spirit, your yokai. I have followed your family for many generations, but I found you were stronger than any of your family, and so I stayed and I watched you..."

"That girl seems to be capable on her own..." A young voice broke the silence between them. The source of this voice was the young looking Yuuto. Found by Shizuo when he was abandoned and young, chased and hunted, Yuuto dedicated himself to serving Shizuo in any way possible, even though he overall powers are as weak as an injured youkai. His specialty is in gathering information, by taking in the advantage of his skinny figure and his quick speed, sewed along with his high endurance praised even by Shizuo. He quickly twitch when a hand slapped on his shoulders.

"Of course, she's not! If she is, Shizuo-sama wouldn't ask for us to guard this girl now, would he?!" A disagreeing opinion bommed behind Yuuto. A short and feeble looking old man with a cane as long as a stick to support him. His wrinkles are very much visible on his forehead, and his entire body is already shaking as if from earthquake. One of his hands are placed behind his back. Although he appears like that, he used to have tremendous strength that once brought down thousands of youkais. It appears that a few bit of his strength still lingers inside him. This man is widely named as Old Man Gengai.

"if she's so weak, why don't we just eat her up and tell Shizuo-sama that she died from an attack of one of the powerful youkais? I'm hungry for human soul right now." This time, someone with the appearance of the same age as Yuuto voiced his opinion. He bears the name Ren the Insane. His maniacal tone and behavior judges that he is perfectly insane, however, with the help from Shizuo and one of the reknown youkai doctors, he was able to return to reality. However, it seems that he draws his powers from insanity, thus came his becoming of an insane youkai.

As if a threatened, Ren quickly shivered, and a cold chill went down his spine. Behind him is the famous doctor that cured him of his insanity, the human Misaki Kyouko. She is the elder sister of Misaki Kaori, and even acts like one of the group, often comically punishing those of her group who does something outrageous. She is also the only one without a fighting power, and only her vast knowledge of medicine for both the human and the youkai is her advantage point. A crack from her fist sounded throughout the alley, and her round red eyes are focused onto Ren. "I told you... NO EATING HUMAN!" A gigantic punch from above landed on top of Ren's head, and he screamed in pain. A bump appeared on his head, and Kyouko pushed her glasses up with his right hand. "So, what do we do now?" Another voice appeared.

This time, it was much more younger than Kyouko. A short girl in grey uniform appeared from behind of Kyouko. Being the youngest of the five, Kaori mostly just use her power in the police to help with Shizuo. Although her combat and range capability are impressive, there's only so much a human can do against a youkai. She highly thanked and known for keeping the town in peace, ever since youkai decide to invade the human without their knowledge. Receiving help from Shizuo and the other youkais, she was able to prevent most of accidents caused by youkai. Her usual cheery voice usually lightens up the mood around the five, despite being partially useless. "Guess we will just have to keep watch until she reaches home. Shizuo-sama will be there, so we wouldn't have to worry then." Kyouka announced their next step, and all of them nodded, quietly keeping a distance from the girl.

You can use these five if you decide for Kanata to run into a situation and I couldn't reply to that, making you wait, Kei-chan.

Jack smiled and looked over at him, seeing that he was thinking and trying to identify her out of the many spirits he had probably known when he was younger. She knew she wasn't the only 'imaginary friend' he had in life, but she had hope he would remember her. After all, he was the only human she really knew. She heard his words and let out a small sigh, holding her hands in front of her tightly together and looking away. "I see. So you really don't remember me." Despite her disappointment, she kept a smile on her face and reached over, ruffling his hair gently. "Not your fault."

The girl jumped a bit when he almost stumbled and made sure he didn't fall, smiling a bit when he spoke of remembering a girl helping him with his Obi. She remembered that, the colorful festival lights and the chance to hold her young master's hand. He had been so young, but for some reason there had been no one around to help him or take him to the festival. The only thing she couldn't remember is if he had gotten his red eye by then or not. She had loved that particular festival, taking money from the air and slipping them into his little pouch when he was looking so that he would never run out and could try anything. A precious memory that he at least halfway remembered.

Jack broke from her thoughts before nodding and then looking around a bit. "Yes, that was me. I was so surprised to find you alone on an exciting night that I had to help you, even if I would be within a crowd of humans who couldn't see me." She smiled more and rubbed her hands together as he asked his next question, softly sighing. "I didn't leave because I had been gone for generations, wandering the world. I'd already gotten rid of my wanderlust and hoped I could meet you and protect you as I had done with your ancestors." She looked over at him. "Any more questions?"
