Theme song:
I Was a Prayer : Alkaline Trio

I am waiting 'til there's nothing left
I'm a prayer, all you see is breath
I am empty, I am skin and bones, I'm a rib cage
Well, I'm out the door with apathy

Role:
Madison's older brother...

Personality:

Image

Logan is a complex mix of emotions. He tends to hate most people. He's extremely cynical and finds most things annoying. He often is found in his room, strumming his guitar, playing video games or drinking. He finds the psychology of the mind to be amusing, but most of the time he is simply trying to fight off the constant anxiety that knocks on the very inner corners of his mind. Logan suffers from untreated anxiety and depression, he has never told anyone about it due to the fact he would become vulnerable to everyone if his emotions were to surface. To keep anything from happening, he normally keeps to himself, and only does things for himself. Some might even call him selfish, he likes to think of himself as "self sufficient".

He loves horror films, photography, drawing, reading, writing and painting. He finds school a waste of the mind, and a waste of time; he can normally sit in class, not taking any notes, not doing any homework and still ace his tests. He is a certified genius, and it is his downfall, he tends to over think things way too much, and psyches himself out with a bunch of crazy scenarios.

Logan loves physical activities, such as long boarding/skate boarding, boxing, running, football, archery, and gymnastics.

History:
Image
Logan was adopted at the age of three when his real parents had left him at the steps of a church. He has little memory of that day, or what happened after that. For almost two years he stayed inside the church, being taken care of by the nuns until they realized he needed a true home with a real family and they sent him off to an adoption agency where the Pines family snatched him up immediately.

He lived a good life with the Pines family, but he always felt out of place. He went through a phase from the age of 12-16 where he was angry with the world, and wanted to find his real parents and give them a good fist to the face. He eventually learned to bottle up that terrible thought, be the better person and move on with his life.

Logan awoke to his alarm screaming bloody murder, he instantly slams his hand down, but feels the fragile alarm clock dent underneath the weight of his hand. With a grumble, he grabs the alarm clock, and makes a perfect basketball shot and the alarm clock falls into the garbage can on the other side of the room. Yawning and rubbing his eyes, he pushed the covers away and sits up slowly, his feet hitting the cold ground.

Why was his room always the coldest? He shuddered, clearly displeased.

Logan stood, cracking his back to the left, then to the right and he threw on his wrestling hoodie, dark blue mesh shorts that came to his knees, and he also slaps on a pair of socks and his running shoes and heads downstairs. He grabbed an apple and a water bottle, filling it to the brim with ice cold water. Sinking his teeth into the apple, he cocks his head to the side, listening to see if anyone else were home...or awake. Logan enjoyed the quiet, the peace, and routine.

He was a man of routine, and he didn't like people or anything breaking it. He knew he had to wake up at eight thirty, eat, run for an hour and a half, come back, do weight lifting, and then shower...And, of course, eat some more.

Logan stared at the fridge for a moment noticing a note:

"Hey, mom and dad went to pick up Aunt Kelly and the new baby, I'm gonna go get us some breakfast - all our favorites!

- Maddie"

He smirked, for a sister, she wasn't too bad. He decided that he better finish up and get on that run before she comes back.

Logan finished up his apple and headed out the door, down his usual trail in the woods. He loved to run, it was his favorite part of the day, being alone, feeling the cool crisp air against his face; nothing was better to him.

He spotted Jordan walking to her favorite spot in the mornings in the woods and he smirked, slowing down a bit and walking over to the tree, his foot snapping a branch as he walked towards it. He noticed Jordan grab something extremely shiny out of her bag and he chuckled.

"Woah there Jane of the Jungle, no need for that knife." He raised an eyebrow, and laughed at his own Tarzan reference. Logan was one to amuse himself more than amuse others, so him laughing at his own jokes wasn't unusual at all.

He tilted his head to the side and stared up at her for a moment, "How are you this morning?"

Jordan had been up in the tree waiting for whatever it was to come into the small clearing, between two trees. Jordan took a deep breath, and held tight onto her, not yet opened knife. Jordan then calmed down as she saw a tall, white, blonde boy come into the clearing. She smiled when she saw him look up, it was Logan. Jordan accidentally dropped her pocket knife to the ground when she heard Logan say with his joking, yet extremely adorable voice, '' Woah there Jane of the Jungle, no need for that knife.'' As the knife fell to the ground with a very soft thump, Jordan took a deep sigh of relief as she remembered that she hadn't taken the blade part out yet.

Jordan swung her bag over her shoulder and started to climb her way down as she heard Logan say, '' How are you this morning?'' As Jordan swiftly landed on the ground, she looked up at Logan and said, '' Oh, sorry Logan. I didn't know it was you.'' She dusted herself of and said, '' I'm doing a little better now a days. Still not perfect, since......well......you know.'' Jordan didn't like having to bring up how she was doing, but she felt like she should tell the truth. Jordan smiled at Logan and said, '' Any way, how are you?'' She wanted to change the subject as quickly as she possibly could, she didn't like dwelling on the subject. Jordan looked around and she then flinched as she felt her phone vibrate. She had it on vibrate so she wouldn't scare away the animals.

Jordan smiled back at Logan and said, '' Please excuse me.'' Jordan looked at her phone and smiled as she saw it was Maddie that texted her. She smiled and then sent to Maddie: ' No. I've been awake for hours! And you, playing video games with the boys, I suppose?! XD' Jordan put her phone back in her pocket after she hit send. Jordan looked back at Logan and said, '' I can see that you're on your morning jog, I should probably let you get to that. Plus, I have to get home before I get in trouble......again.''

Logan propped his weight over to his left leg as the knife hit the leaf-covered ground with a soft thud. He picks it up as she swings down the tree and lands onto the ground.

"Oh, sorry Logan. I didn't know it was you...I'm doing a little better now a days. Still not perfect, since... well..." She pauses for a moment, "You know..."

He nodded for a moment and watched her force a small smile, "Anyway...How are are you?."

Logan was perceptive and knew she wanted to change the subject quickly from her to him, but he wasn't much of a talker either. He gives a small shrug in response, which simply meant: I'm not great, but I'm not terrible. Jordan's hand flew to her pocket and she brings out her phone, "Please, excuse me."

He nodded again, with a small smirk, waiting patiently until she finished her text; when she finished she looks back up at Logan and her mood shifted to discomfort, "I can see that you're on your morning job, I should probably let you get to that. Plus, I have to get home before I get in trouble...Again..."

Logan wasn't one for showing emotions, or showing that he cared for someone, but this was his little sisters best friend, and she was close to family. He takes a deep breath and turns on his heel, "C'mon, I'll walk you home, or close enough to your house, whatever you feel more comfortable with."

The thought of going off routine made him uncomfortable, but Jordan seemed as though she could use someone to just be there for her right now with everything that had been going on lately.

"Oh, you should probably take this back," he hands her the pocket knife, "I think you might need it more than me."

As Jordan put her phone back into her pocket, she saw Logan shrugg. She smiled since she knew that was his way of saying, '' Alright.'' Jordan sifted in her stance and looked around, she then looked back at Logan when he said, '' C'mon, I'll walk you home, or close enough to your house, whatever you feel more comfortable with.'' Jordan noticed that he was going to get ready to walk with her. Jordan took a deep breath and said, '' I kind of have to get a book for Kate and then get back home and do nothing.'' Jordan smiled and started to walk with him, Jordan then said, '' Well, I guess we could walk for a little while. But then I have to go.'' As she was walking with him, she heard him say, '' Oh, you should probably take this back'' Jordan looked at him and smiled when she saw the pocket knife in his hand.

Jordan slowly took it back and smiled. She then heard Logan say, " I think you might need it more than me." Jordan smiled kindly and said, '' Yeah, other wise my wooden carvings would never get finished.'' She said with a joking tone in her voice. Jordan then stopped again when she felt her phone vibrate again. She stopped, took it out of her pant's pocket and looked at the text. Jordan then typed, '' Ooooohhhh rrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiggggghhhhttttt. It must be someone else that skipped my mind. ;p I have to get a book for Kate and do some stuff around the house. I'll think about it? And, anything you want to say to Logan? I'm with him.'' She smiled and pressed send. Jordan then put her phone away and said, '' Alright, let's go.'' She said as she slowly started to walk along side Logan.

Jordan smirked, "Yeah, otherwise my wooden carvings would never get finished." She joked, and the right corner of Logan's mouth twitched into a smirk. She was pretty funny for someone with such a shitty living condition; what was his excuse? Oh right, nothing excused him from his lack of humor, he was probably just never born with it. But then again, he found himself funny...But most people just thought of him as awkward.

Enthralled into her phone again, Logan awkwardly looks around, holding back the urge to point out that the sky was blue, or the grass was green, or even the leaves from the trees were pretty colors, -- he wasn't very good at the whole conversation thing, or socialization thing. He enjoyed being alone, and alone he liked to stay, but he also realized over many years that being alone is like trying to find a unicorn: it's never going to happen. Although he accepted this fact, he still hadn't necessarily picked apart all the pieces on how to socialize, or even how to hold a conversation.

Jordan's voice jerked Logan out of his own head for a moment, "Alright, let's go." Logan's feet automatically set the pace at a walking stride -- he often forgot that people actually like just strolling, not walking as if they were trying to avoid everything. His eyes are fixated on his feet as he walked, hands shoved into his hoodie pocket.

"So... The uhm...." He bit his lower lip, conversation...where do people normally start off with a conversation? God, if only his sister were here to take this block of awkward between them away, it would be so much easier...

"What book do you have to bring for Kate?" He spat out the question, unsure of what else to say. Mentally punching himself, he realized he was walking a bit too fast and slowed down the pace. His eyes darted towards Jordan, begging her to save him from his awkward self.

Jordan looked at Logan when he said, '' What book do you have to bring for Kate?'' She stopped walking and said, '' Uh, not sure. All I know is that it's about a girl and her best friend who's a dog.'' Jordan smiled and started to walk again. She looked at Logan and said, '' So, uh how's the family doing? Ya know, is your mom and dad still doing good?'' Jordan said with a true smile. Jordan liked Logan and Maddie's parents. They were always so kind to her and her sister, even besides the fact that Jordan was being abused.

Their family always seemed to be happy and didn't have to worry about anything. While Jordan was completely the opposite, she has to worry about almost anything. Jordan just shook her head and stopped thinking about the negative side of life and tried to look at the positive. Jordan sighed and looked back at Logan and said, '' Don't you have a routine or something like that? And aren't you kind of breaking it by walking with me?'' Jordan said as her voice shifted from happy, to soft and curious. Jordan then stopped and looked at Logan, she sighed and said, '' Well, this is far enough. I can walk the rest of the way.'' Jordan and Logan had already been walking for about fifteen minutes and they were at the old oak tree where the beginning of the woods start.

Jordan shifted her stance and looked around, there was something that didn't seem right about the woods. It seemed colder and uneasy. She looked at Logan and started to walk to the entrance, by herself. She crossed her arms across her chest and started the long walk to the library.
