Oh, that's what it was. The thing about her that had given him a bad feeling was quite literally glaring him straight in the face and he almost missed it simply due to the fact it did not make since. That 'thing', of course, was a small.... contraption (as best he could put it because of no experience with a creature of the sort) that seemed to be alive, yet made of man. This was the first obvious thing about the woman that raised a real flag, with the second not making itself apparent until she had decided to speak.

“Aaye ettelëa! Antolle ulua sulrim. Amin hiraetha, amin caelsinta en’llie kirya”

Alistair's grip on the hilt of his blade tightened. He might've simply just passed it off as a result of trauma due to a blow to the head during the crash, but the gibberish that she just worded was just too fluid. Whatever she had said, in whatever way she had said it was, using context clues, likely meant to be a greeting of some sort, perhaps even an answer to his question. That, or she just liked smiling, but people armed with more than a single weapon weren't usually the happy-go-lucky type. In either case, he didn't like it one bit. People needed to be clearly understandable when talking to him. He did not have time to waste on meaningless translation.

The woman turned her attention to the little thing that had made its way to her shoulder. Briefly, the two shared some form of very odd interaction before, suddenly, the woman hopped back and growled some more unintelligible words at him, taking an aggressive stance. Alistair, in turn, unsheathed his blade, prepared to strike her down if she became feral and, also, briefly wondered if she was someone who got lost outside the city and grew up out here. Though that wasn't really a possible conclusion as she looked fairly clean and well-off, rather than someone having to live off the land. Alistair nearly spoke (likely to voice a threat against her) but was cut off by the woman, who, following a few small steps and a lick of the lips Alistair had taken the wrong way, tried speaking, this time in a language he understood. Mostly.

”You. Are. A. Hume? Are. There. More. of you? Do. You speak Eldalie or Khuzdul?”

Visibly confused, the golden-haired man raised his equally golden eyebrows before speaking his typical, strong tone, his weapon still at the ready. "Yes. Of course I am Hume." he might've let a bit of irritation leak into his tone, but that's not something unexpected given the situation. Despite the feeling she wouldn't understand him given her strain to even complete a basic sentence, he continued. "There's only one Alistair Archibald. Don't bunch me up with peasants back there." he gave a slight glance over towards where the others were and that is how he decided to answer, considering he wasn't privy to whatever 'Eldalie' or 'Khuzdul' was, he didn't bother with them. He figured her knowledge of the language was limited and she'd just spoken words she wasn't sure of. That being said, he couldn't keep from stealing glances at that contraption. It was something he had yet to have seen before. There was a chance one may be helpful. Perhaps he needed one? Even he could recognize it wasn't something you could just throw together, you needed some form of smarts.

Hmm.....

Raruna grinned wickedly at Alistair as he left her though he didn't see it. Turning back to the wrecked ship, she hoped that her new found friend was alright. After all, she still had a thousand adventures she wanted to kidnap him throughbring him with her on and enjoy the elation of running for their liveschecking out the scenery. So, Runa started back to the crashed air ship that she was more than a little saddened by it being crashed and probably unable to fly again.
As she started for the door that she'd come out of a little bit ago, she heard the strangest sounds. First to get her attention was a high pitched wailing sound somewhere off into the tree line that sounded a little bit too close for comfort and in the direction that Alistair had gone off to. Curiosity grabbed her and Runa abandoned her climb up to the door that she'd jumped out of earlier. Moving around the ship, she caught sight of Alistair's golden armor and a woman that was taller than himself. Not the one making those sounds though she mused lightly.

Runa was also surprised to note that there were others on the ship as she quickly strode over to Alistair and reached for her own weapon as Alistair reached for his. She was too far at the moment to know exactly what was going on but as she strode closer, she heard the woman's voice which did not speak in the same language her and Alistair were speaking. This was odd though. The woman drew her weapon though and said something a bit heavier, sharper and Raruna ran over, her own weapon drawn just as Alistair drew his.

The woman spoke in Common then, broken, but Common no less. As Raruna came to stand next to Alistair, her blade lifted up and a wicked grin on her lips, she took a step forward, putting herself a little bit ahead of the taller man decked out in golden, shiny armor she was seriously going to have to ask if she could at least just touch it sometime.... that shiny... The wailing was still going on and it was starting to draw Runa's attention.

"You just keeping finding all sorts of fun things, Alistair," Raruna commented lightly, her grin still on her lips as she watched the person in front of her. The woman sure looked hume, but the way she referred to Alistair as being hume made Runa think that the woman wasn't a hume at all. Strange... Wonder what kind of people we're going to be running into. What race is she then, if she's not hume? Runa's eyes dropped to the strange contraption on the woman's shoulder and an eyebrow lifted even more in curiosity.

Tilting her head, Runa glanced off into the tree's where the wailing was coming from. It was that sound that had first drawn her from going back into the ship in the first place and she was curious about it. Looking back to the strange woman that towered over Runa's small frame, she motioned her blade to the weapon the woman was holding, "Say, put that away and we can all be on our way, yes? Unless you'd like to take a chance with me," Runa laughed lightly, that wild light returning to her eyes as she watched the woman, then flicked her eyes back to the trees, "And that racket going on, is that one of yours? We certainly seemed to have taken more people than we thought on that short flight of ours, didn't we Alistair?"

Runa took another step forward as she waited for an answer, ready for just about anything at that moment.

The shiny man in his golden armour looked somewhat annoyed by her question, a hint of irritation tinging his voice.

“Only one of you? So you’re alone aboard that?”

She asked quizzically, pointing with the tip of her sword towards the large wreckage behind him which had begun to emit a strange wail that was now spreading all around as it echoed. While she could understand him, his meaning was a little odd to her given that Dwarves had very little use for metaphors and had a great deal of issue in understanding their subtle meaning. Kairos was making hissing noises, similar to the growls of the wolf by Vanessa’s side as he glared at the golden boy, his singular eye flaring a deep crimson as he seemed to have issues with the wailing noise. With one gauntleted hand she reached up to lightly reassure him, not once taking her eyes off this strange newcomer as she wondered what could be causing the noise that was distressing her friend so.

Her sword had been lowered somewhat, though still kept in a faint guard by her waist in case this Hume decided to attack her and given that he seemed a little disturbed by his turn of phrase she wasn’t taking any chances. Suddenly a new figure appeared from the smoke and laughing, a grin spread across her face she spoke quickly; her comments about finding ‘fun things’ which Vanessa wasn’t sure about what could be fun given the situation but that it may refer to this ‘Alistair’.

“You said you were alone, Alistair

Her deep voice was darker as she narrowed her eyes, her hand reaching over her shoulder and withdrawing her bihänder, Moralltach. She grunted a little as pulled it out as while she could comfortably wield the blade one handed it was not an easy task by any means but given two opponents and the relatively open space around them she’d not have much issue swinging her swords. Vanessa brought both swords round in an arc before resting them in front of her body, crossed but not touching and easily demonstrating the sharp edge of the weapons in the faint whisper as they passed through the air; with Moralltach causing a longer wail due to the fact that it was longer than the newly appeared woman was tall.

“Why are you here? My father said no Hume could come here… It is forbidden. I am not afraid of a Hume.”

These Hume were clearly not what she’d expected of them, from the stories she’d heard she had been afraid to see great monsters from her darkest nightmares. Something almost as horrifying as the demons of ancient legends.

Alistair was beginning to think this person a tad bit slower than your average Hume (or whatever she may be), since she obviously hadn't understood what he meant when he said 'peasants back there'. Considering that she was not he, and he wasn't she (though that that is not stating a shocking truth), he had to remind himself he shouldn't expect much in the form of brainpower out of her. Such is the life of one above all others -- he constantly had allow himself to lessen himself so that these people, though undeserving, could at least partially make out what he informed them about.

Anyway, instead of giving a verbal response, he simply sighed and put his face in the palm of his hand and shook his head, disappointed in his high expectations of the woman. It was around that time that a certain other annoyance of his, also female, had decided to join up with them. Alistair noted that she was alone and assumed that he was right about the weakling being dead which was also unsurprising because he was always right. Oh well. It wasn't as though he even wanted that man to accompany them, what with him seemingly lacking a spine based on the fact he wasn't willful enough to even attempt to meet Alistair's eye. It was always possible the man realized how greatly unworthy of eye contact he was and just was acting on that, but somehow, Alistair doubted this possibility greatly. More importantly than thinking about runts, Alistair wished to depart sometime soon so that he wouldn't be too discomforted by hunger and thirst by the time they found something to eat, as was likely to be a problem to arise considering they were, in fact, stranded.

"You just keeping finding all sorts of fun things, Alistair,"

With his guard still up and his eyes still locked on the strange, beast-woman (his mental name for her since she wasn't giving off the most feminine of vibes at the moment, and because she appeared as though she'd be more comfortable outside the city than inside it), Alistair replied to the fledgling skypirate. "I would be more inclined to dub this as a 'fun' experience were it a more physical encounter. Unfortunately, that would just be a waste of energy I would very much like to retain for now. I'm sure you must know that food does not make itself, and all that combat on the ship has worked up quite the appetite." as if signaled, Alistair's belly let out a small grumble. The man decided that he did not wish to fight or waste time chatting, so he very much wanted to just leave. And so he was going to. The earlier interest in the woman disappeared and was replaced with a need for something edible."I'll allow you two to enjoy yourselves, but don't bother me with any of it."

Alistair was about to back off and begin away, but the unknown, strange beast-woman had opened her mouth and implied something with her words, whether she knew it or not. Oh dear.

“You said you were alone, Alistair”

It was this sentence alone that angered the man clad in gold. For you see, she did not pay attention to her wording, and even though Alistair was convinced she might be a bit dimmer than your average peasant, he could not let it slide. She was, of course, implying that Alistair wasn't above others, after all.

His crimson eyes narrowed sharply as he shot a powerful glare at the woman and they could be considered a demon's own eyes. He didn't care what 'her father told her' or that she thought being 'unafraid of Humes' had anything to do with him. "Your father must be a fool then. He seems to have spent more time making senseless claims and less time teaching his daughter to listen when she is spoken to, rather than accusing people of things they are not guilty of. Because I do not recall ever once implying that I was alone." he growled, knowing that it was likely she did not understand more than a few words. But such things did not excuse her rudeness.

Perhaps he was overreacting. She was likely never the smartest kid in school, but even so, he could not forgive the implication of her words. The fact that she was accusing him of lying alone was pretty irritating, but the hidden implication behind the initial implication alone gave him enough reason to postpone his search for food to deal with this woman, who had been fairly ignorant and disrespectful to him more than enough. Please ignore the implica-ception. He had said that there was only one Alistair Archibald. This was still true, and it always would be. But even though the impossible did not happen and there was no Alistair Archibald clone, she still claimed his statement to be false. And though she probably did not mean it to be taken as such, the golden-armored, red-eyed man could only see that as assuming this other woman, who was obviously below him, as his equal. Something he would not tolerate. How dare she even imagine such a scenario? There was no true excuse besides blatant idiocy that he would rather be wiped from the face of the planet. Yes, unless she could apologize like the heathen she was, she did not have his permission to continue living, especially if it was in proximity to him.

"You will refrain from asking me anything else and apologize for your wrongdoing, or I will personally see to it you don't have any more chances to make mistakes again."

The demon was, of course, absolutely confused. Without her mistress to tell her left from right and front from her ass, Reika was disoriented. She was feeling the first waves of 'Well what the fuck do I do now?' wash over her. Mistress was unconscious on her back, she was hearing some kind of weird mewling, and also some kind of disturbing, clunky language. It was the same kind of sound Mistress made when she was talking to other humes. Did that mean... they were... communicating? With what? With who? With how? With sex? Her eyes lit up at the last question. She liked sex. She liked sex a lot. In fact, sex was definitely the number one thing she adored, uh, wait, number one were her demonic overlords, and then maybe her Mistress, wait, this was getting confusing...

With her head spinning from her own jumbled thoughts coupled with the weird, harsh tones she was hearing over her shoulder, it came as no surprise that Reika wanted to do something to shut it all up. She just wanted things to make sense again and they never did without someone guiding her! And now that she was alone, she had no idea what to do, and she was trying to hold Mistress on her shoulders, but there were strange people nearby and she was sad and didn't even know if her ass was jutting out correctly! Panic was beginning to rise in her gut as a bubbling of tears sprung into her eyes. She was drawing blanks, she didn't know how to help herself, much less help anyone else.

So amidst the chaos of her mind, Reika made the best choice she could think to make. And by that, I mean she did not think at all She ran, her body moving forwards but blindly at that. She had no idea where her destination was, no idea where she was supposed to be, no idea where she was even headed. But the voices were getting louder, that was a bad sign, wasn't it? Wait, or was that good? Did she want help? Was that a thing now? She didn't know how to treat her Mistress--maybe these strangers did. Maybe they were headed to some kind of orgy too! Wait, she had to think of her priorities... yeah um... saving lives... This was really hard. It was really hard to stay so focused! She just wanted to have some fun, why was this even happening to her?

Okay, wait, this could be really simple. All she had to do was get their attention, all she had to do was call out to them and then they'd use their magic powers to heal her Mistress... yeah, because that was how the humes did it. Well, with more plant stuff but it still did the trick. Feeling really proud of herself for figuring modern medicine out, she skipped towards the group, making sure to stop just outside their line of vision. Grinning widely at her genius, really, this was a plan without fault, she projected her voice towards them. She only knew a few words in common but she was absolutely sure they were acceptable in any situation without fault.

"Help, need--"

Before she was even done talking, something familiar crashed around in her mind, something that made her quiver with fear. And something that made her physical form literally melt away. The demon was capable of existing as two forms on the strange and limited material plane, and she vastly preferred her physical body over the spiritual one because she could do things with her physical one... Pretty, good-feeling things. But as it stood, she felt as if something had torn right through her chest, dissolving her physical form completely and causing Mistress to collapse on the ground in a heap. Reika was floating nearby, in the form of a kit, but in this astral form, she was completely invisible to anyone that was around her.

She wanted to change her form back, she wanted to become a woman-creature again. But whatever had forced her to transform was prohibiting her from resuming her other shape. And she had a feeling she knew exactly what that was and knew, somehow, that she was going to be punished later. She didn't know how or when, but she had a pretty good idea by who. Sulking and now biding her time till that moment inevitably came, she glided over her unconscious Mistress, the witch completely passed out. At least she had done her part, those humes were definitely looking this way. At least she'd done something right.

... Right?

“You said you were alone, Alistair”

"Your father must be a fool then. He seems to have spent more time making senseless claims and less time teaching his daughter to listen when she is spoken to, rather than accusing people of things they are not guilty of. Because I do not recall ever once implying that I was alone." Alistair growled in response.

Raruna scoffed in reply as well, her blade still held up and pointed at the woman that addressed them roughly. Alistair, who had turned to walk away, came back to further address the woman who didn't stop in her rough, threatening speech.

“Why are you here? My father said no Hume could come here… It is forbidden. I am not afraid of a Hume.”

"You will refrain from asking me anything else and apologize for your wrongdoing, or I will personally see to it you don't have any more chances to make mistakes again."

"Oh my, it seems you've angered my companion. From what I've learned, he doesn't like being insulted in anyway. I would suggest rewording your thoughts..." Runa tilted her head a little, peering at the woman from under the brim of her hat, a curious look passing over her face, "Hume? You are not hume?"

Runa's lips twisted into a wild grin as she reached up with her free hand and gingerly took the edge of her hat between forefinger and thumb. A bit of a laugh filled her chest as she adjusted her body, the stance clearly showing that she was ready for a fight as she raised her gaze yet again, "How interesting. You're not hume. Never fought anything that wasn't hume before. Come, entertain me," Runa's voice was filled with both a wild excitement as well as a deadly edge to it. Her pale blue eyes were glinting like stones as her body tensed and she prepared to lung forward to engage the fight.

There were two reasons she wished to take on the woman before her was it safe to call her a woman? Or was it something else? It hadn't said it was a hume... What was it then? One was because Runa enjoyed a good fight. The second, and probably more important than the first was the insult directed at Alistair. She had yet to finish her duel with him and to her she considered the man in gold a valuable partner. Not to mention he was decked out in gold, seriously, if only she could just touch it!!

However, as Runa lunged forward, a sharp sound to her left took her attention. She halted in her advancement as a creature burst out into their crash site. Only two words escaped the things mouth before it disappeared completely, dropping what it was holding onto the ground in a heap. A little dust cloud floated out from under the body that hit the earth. The strange entrance and harsh sounding words had unfortunately taken Raruna's attention and for a brief moment she forgot that she was about to engage in a fight and more importantly that she was in rather close striking distance.

Her eyes darted between the two Hume, though for all his brazen insults and glittering armour it was the second of the pair that gave her the most concern. Even so, she hadn't counted out 'Alistair' just yet and had moved back from them slowly, her swords hanging in a low guard before her.

“The tales seem to have a ring of truth, Hume are little more that feral animals seeking a fight or their next meal.” She taunted, a smile flickering across her lips as she moved her swords in preparation to meet to oncoming lunge from the woman. But as her shorter blade swung upwards, better to deflect to attack she instead ended up pulling back and halting the following swing she'd been readying with her bihänder as her attacker paused. Confused as to what had resulted in the sudden pause in their fight before it had begun the red haired girl glanced over to the edge of the crash site that her attacker was staring at.

A cloud of dust was currently swirling in the air above a body that now lay slumped in a heap, a rather strange one at that though Vanessa couldn't identify precisely what about the person's body struck her as strange save that she felt it must be. On the ground nearby looked to be a bundle that seemed to have fallen beside the creature when it collapsed and presumably distracted the had distracted the rather vindictive girl before her. Cocking her head slightly as she switched her gaze from the creature slumped on the ground, the blazing figure and her direct attacker she decided to even the odds slightly.

Pursing her lips together she let out a short, sharp whistle, knowing that Lycus wasn't far behind. As soon as the sound had left her Vanessa swung Narya in a smooth arc towards the woman's arm, aiming directly for her hand and twisting the runic blade at the last moment to bring the flat against the skin hard in hopes of jarring loose her sword while she was distracted by the new arrivals, hoping that she'd not wasted the moment in her confusion.

A low growl behind signalled she had not been mistaken as Lycus had clearly been stalking through the wreckage close behind her and the large dire wolf now stood firmly on the ground to her side, his slow breathing gruff as he eyed the glittering armour of her other assailant but awaited her word to attack.
