GENERAL APPEARANCE
Due to Bali's illness, she's terribly skinny and has a small frame for a woman her age. And honestly, skinny isn't really her thing. She enjoys having more than a little skin on bones. Thankfully, she's gotten a bit better and looks less thin than before, being still underweight, but healthy enough. Being half African-American, Bali's skin is slightly darker than some roaming New York. Most assume it's a tan, but all of it is natural, though she does get tanned more easily during the summer going to the beach. She stands at quite a tall height, at five feet and eight inches, or 177 centimeters, perfect for being a model except she instead goes the path of becoming a dancer. Her hair is obviously black and if she doesn't 'groom' it properly, it'll basically become an afro. However, she doesn't let this happen often and instead wears it back in buns and occasionally straightens it. Whenever she's too lazy, she'll leave it like so though. Her eyes are a dark green, even though she wishes they were bright and vivid, and she often puts mascara on her eyelashes to make them a bit more noticeable. She has earrings on both her ears, but takes them out during her dances.

Her choice of clothes is always specific and fashionable. Well, most of the time. Around her closest friends, she won't care what she wears. During her dancing, she'll either wear shorts of hip hop pants, tank top or a thin, loose shirt, all made up of basic colors most times.

"I like to think that every dance has a story behind it, no matter what kind of dance. It's how we all connect and how we become actual dancers."

PERSONALITY
      ✦ Honest ✧ Outgoing ✦ Optimistic ✧ Hardworking ✦ Bashful ✧

To no surprise, Bali is very honest, perhaps too honest for her own good. She has the habit of speaking her mind right then and there, which can make her reliable, especially since lying is definitely not her forte. If she wants to lie, it'll be accompanied by obvious shifting and stuttering. However, she will always try to stay away from lying, even if it means avoiding the questions.

Most people, upon meeting her, will notice that Bali is a very outgoing young woman. She loves to talk - not excessively - and is generally friendly and can easily relate with people. Starting a conversation is no task for her. She's always encouraging others and helping them out. Making people smile and laugh is also something she does often without even trying to, and vice versa; Bali laughs far too easily. It's not very hard to impress her.

Bali is also fairly optimistic. She won't give up at something unless she definitely knows it won't work or if it's useless. Even if she was the last person trying, she'd continuously push herself to finally do something and complete it. She doesn't believe in 'No's or people giving up without having even put the effort in trying. Her daily encouraging attitude would always carry onto tight situations, no matter what.

And of course, she's hardworking. If she's given free time, she'll spend it practicing something, whether it's dancing or writing or choreographing or something else. She uses her time efficiently, not wasting any of the time she's given. When it comes to dancing, she'll work until there was bruises on her body that'll make her feel numb whens he wakes up but won't even care. If she's doing something she loves, what she feels later won't matter because she lives in the present.

Bali's quite susceptible to compliments of all sorts though, as she's not very hard to get to blushing. As much as she loves compliments, she's always shy when she receives them, mostly because she's on the giving side rather than. It doesn't really bother her though. If anything, she looks back on the times when her face went red and laughs wondering why she was so embarrassed.

LIKES
Dancing - She wouldn't be able to live without it.
Compliments - Although she's definitely going to deny and blush, Bali still loves getting compliments. It makes her happier than you'd think.
Family/Friends - Her family is especially important to her since she was adopted and her friends even more so since now they are basically her second family.
Traveling - She's been to American, Japan, the UK, and still has plans to visit more since every place looks different.
Messing With Her Hair - Whether it's just her running her hands through her hair or someone else (or even Bali messing with someone else's hair), she loves it.
Criticism - Most people wouldn't, but Bali takes it as things to work on to becoming a better dancer, no matter the comment.
DISLIKES
Big Dogs - They're just... big, and have claws, and teeth.
Birds - They make noise in the early mornings and constantly flood around her for some reason.
Mornings - Too early. Need more sleep.
Tangled Hair - It's fun to mess with until a tangle starts. Once it's there, it takes forever for Bali to get it out. It's definitely not a fun process.
Her Illness - Coughing, tiredness, being weak... that's not what a dancer is and not what a dancer can be.

TALENTS
Dancing - She'd been dancing since she was exceptionally young, how could she not be?
Gymnastics - Her sister did gymnastics often and Bali decided to give it a shot. She did pretty well.
Makeup - While Bali only wears mascara, she's basically a pro when it comes to dolling up her friends on special occasions.
Endurance - Despite her illness holding her down, Bali is able to push her body to the limit, although it takes a while to recover.
Choreography - She doesn't stick to any specific style and instead invents her own dance, picking pieces from here and there and putting it all into a single dance.

FLAWS
      Her Illness - Explained.
Often Fatigued - Whenever she pushed herself too hard, Bali will become fatigued for a long period of time, being bedridden in the worst cases.
Head In The Clouds - She spaces out often and may fall asleep in the most unusual areas by accident.
Tone Deaf - Dancers dance to music, and she can do that. Just... don't invite her to a karaoke. Ever.
Not An Artist - Someone once picked up a sketch book in her room. They asked if her younger sister drew it. She had to embarrassingly say that the drawings were hers.

FEARS
Spreading Her Illness - While no longer contagious, Bali still has the fear that her illness may return to being contagious and she may infect her friends and family.
Not Being Able To Dance - That'd be the worst thing out there to happen. It's what she strives to become best at and to take that away would be torture.
Horror Movies - She's terrified of them, yet she does it anyways and then stays up way too late fearing some demon's living in her room or something.
Being Alone - Especially in the dark. She's watched enough horror movies to know what happens.
Heights - Being on the tenth floor is bad, but looking out the window would most likely cause her to start crying.

"God... this sickness has been pulling me down the moment the symptoms started to show up. People told me I'd have to quit dancing if I wanted to be healthy... I'll show them."

BIO
Right to the point - Bali had and still has tuberculosis. When she was a child, the symptoms weren't visible, so she lived pretty normally in the beginning. Originally, she was adopted by a nice family that had two actually children, and then two adopted children including herself. No tragic story to that - she loved her parents and her siblings were her world, despite being one of the youngest. Her siblings were Yui, Aneshka, and Tessa. She was so protective of them and they stuck together like glue, just as she was with her current group of friends.

Then, symptoms began to show up. Her parents grew concerned over the amount of coughing she did each day, and even more so when she couldn't do physical activities for too long. It was discovered that she had tuberculosis. Without saying a single thing to any one of her friends, she suddenly left, giving only the excuse that they 'were moving away.' And just like that, gone. Their family really did move, to the UK for the time being. Bali struggled between the want to dance and the want to get better.

Eventually, she got better, kind of. The illness was no longer contagious, and her body began to return to it's normal, healthy state, but the symptoms were still there, occurring more often than she hoped. They still limit her, and she still takes medications, and all sorts of other things to ensure her health. Then, she moved back to New York, after suddenly feeling that desperate wanting to dance again with her old friends. Even though her parents beg her not to push herself, Bali continues to dance to prove that not even her illness can hold her back.

Time: 8:45 PM
After all the students and coaches have had their day or reuniting a week before, now is the true reunite, where every student and coach gets over whatever feelings they had before and focus on the one thing that originally brought them back together in the first place: dance.
It was a last minute thing, seeing how the classes were to be schedule later, but it was clear no one could wait any long after having connected again so soon. It's dark, cold and dark and raining, yet comforting. The city of New York reminds many of home, when and where they used to practice together when times were less serious and dramatic.
Hopefully, that's still the case...

Tʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✧ #E57DED

Bali got out of her car after parking. The whole time she drove, she was both excited and afraid to see everyone again, even though she'd already met with them a week before. She couldn't help that small smile that just didn't leave her face the whole time she drove. In fact, because she was spacing out, imagining dancing with everyone, she nearly passed a red light twice and forgot exactly where she was driving, having to make a few couple U turns and what such.

She had just come back from her part time job as a barista at a small, near by coffee shop. She only worked part time, just to keep her busy when she wasn't doing anything and to help out with the cost of the apartment since her parents always seemed to be busy working, themselves. Even her three other sisters tried to pitch in for the cost, though they didn't really do much... Even a little bit counted.

The whole time she worked, Bali had been wearing her dancing clothes underneath her uniform the whole time, even though it was uncomfortable. For some reason, the option of changing after work hadn't occurred to her until she was trying to both drive while strip off that first layer of clothes. It wasn't difficult, though she was driving... incredibly slow. At least five other cars honked at her while she struggled, probably looking ridiculous at the same time.

It was late to do a dance class, but she couldn't help it. She desperately wanted to dance, especially with her friends from way back when. Even if she never told them about her leaving from before, even if some of them might be angry at her, she was still excited. Optimism was her forte, after all.

Upon arriving, she stared up at the building, some sort of sparkling look in her eyes. She was brought back to those small, childhood memories of being a kid and a teen, dancing with everyone when things were serene and calm... Now they'd go back to that again.

Unfortunately, she hadn't exactly brought an umbrella - well, more like she almost did but forgot to put it in the back seat - so getting out of the car and into the building was a bit of a clumsy run across the cement and into the building. Her dark, curly hair, which was once neat and put back, was now growing more tangled and weighing heavier on her head. She realized that getting her hair wet didn't mean it straightening out, it just mean it'd grow to be more of a... bush.

She burst into her class, being taught by a good friend from the past, Nana, exclaiming with soaked hair, clothes, and shoes, "I-I'm here! Um... didn't know if I was late or not. Am I late? Er, work kind of got in the way." She laughed a bit while trying to dry her hair with her hands.

Time: 20:45
Place: Studio

I shouldn't be here...

Nakahara had walked into the studio about twenty minutes ago. The people whom were there didn't even get a glance from him as his brown hues as he started quite adamantly at the floor as he strode inside. Being a professional, punctuality was in his blood. He had kept his distance from the group that was gathered there, leaning his back into the far wall.

He had taken some days off of work for this get together, having a couple months off of his usual and mundane desk job. The work itself was easy, but the work place gave off a very lonely feeling. So far, this place didn't feel all that different. He had no one to blame but himself though, purposely keeping a bit of a distance from the others. It had been years since he saw them all after they had left, leaving him the only one to remain in the end. He wasn't hurt by that however, but felt that he was the one at fault. The past week wasn't much different. Sure some of them sort of got to know each other once more but Naka had locked himself in his room, not bothering to come out until he had to be at the studio. Even then he left at the crack of dawn so hardly no one even knew he was there.

He, like many others most likely, had received a sort of introductory letter that stated their classes and dancing groups. His dull eyes scanned over the page, though he didn't feel the need to complain about being around the most sexually charged people, at least as far as he could remember.

The Exotic Predator, Carmen Villegas Cordero. One of the few people who was older than Naka himself. His rather erotic and spontaneous behavior would normally be at odds with Naka's more calm and dead pan appearance.

The Prince Charming, Eli Blaine Brasher. The younger brother of Dimitri with what seems to be an obsession with his own chest flaunting. Despite being insincere, he was someone Naka could respect, if not be slightly uncomfortable around.

The Sin, Valentine Sinclair. She's not all that a person in the end, honestly. After all someone who's a die hard for Shakespeare can't be all that bad. Naka can't help but remember some cringe worthy incidents with this underclassmen back in the day.

Lastly was their dance leader, or choreographer of sorts, Mikhail Yves Roux. This is an envy inducing sight to behold for Naka, as he greatly revered both his skill and personality. Mikhail was everything Nakahara could never dream to be.

As his eyes scanned the paper, Naka could almost feel himself shrink smaller and smaller still. He was an introverted and picky child in the presence of the very visage of 'sex' or 'excellence'. He felt dwarfed in comparison, though he did not mind. This, in his mind, was at least a bit normal. He continued to read the page.

Duet dancing. It's not as bad as dancing on his own, however the idea of dancing with one these people under the specialty of a professionally trained ballet and jazz dancer was not something to be over the roof about. He preferred group dances that required little to no physical contact in the end. None of them were shy about getting all touchy feely, much to his distress.

"...?"

A look of surprise came across his face. He had noticed all his thoughts. He was getting nostalgic over the names. He was thinking of what his life would be like in dance once more. Thoughts of returning to his desk job didn't cross his mind for once. He felt... Almost happy.

Was this the best choice in the end, after all?

Of course not. It was only a matter of time until he stained the bonds with his cowardly ways.

He let out a long sigh, looking up from the paper and around the room.

Nana had gotten to the studio extremely early, she had changed into her leotard and a pair of sweat pants. She was finishing her stretches when people start to file into the studio. Nana had been in the middle of a dance and when someone walked into her class room, she fell almost flat on her face. Nana had gotten to the studio extremely early, she had changed into her leotard and a pair of sweat pants. Once she finished her stretches she turned on her stereo and people start to file into the studio.
Nana had been in the middle of a dance and when someone walked into her class room, she fell almost flat on her face.
"DONT YOU KNOW HOW TO!- She began and quickly shot up off the floor and looked at who had just walked in. "BALI!"
She smiled widely and almost sprinted over and to stand in front of her.
"It's so good to see you."
As they began to talk other people started coming in.
Nana asked Bali to take a seat anywhere in the room. She smiled and went to stand at the front of the room and waited for the rest of the class.
"Bali how have you been sense I last saw you?"
She asked trying to make conversation.

----------------------------------------------------------

Apolline was considerably late to the lesson. Usually she would be right on time, but the fact that the rain had caused every New Yorker to rush to their car and cause as many traffic jams as possible slowed her down considerably. Thus, Apolline arrived at the studio at a time her mother would call "fashionably late". Apolline however, did not like being late and quickly unmounted from her bike outside the studio and chained it before rushing inside. (Not before shaking the water off her raincoat of course). Feeling a knot of worry grow in her chest she went into the class, but was confused as to why class hadn't started. She looked up at the clock and realised she was actually one of the crowd of people who were late too. Apolline felt herself relax a bit, but the knot was still there. Apolline remembered her therapist Miss Watson Amanda's advice. Taking deep breaths, Apolline went to the wall and put her bag down, taking a swig from her water bottle. She waited until no one was looking, and took a picture of the ballet bars on her phone. She smiled, happy with the outcome of the shot and began stretching. Though there were many faults with having a bike as transportation, not having to warm up as much at the studio was one of them. As she reached towards her toes, Apolline looked for Nana, and saw her talking to - Bali. Apolline's eyes widened and she immediately looked back at her legs. Damn it Apolline you said you were over this! Well I lied didn't I. Apolline let her forehead fall to her shin and groaned quietly. Talking to myself again, and getting in a stupid crush again. Two ticks off the awkward bingo board. Apolline sighed and continued stretching, trying not to look at Bali from all the new angles. She swore she didn't feelthat way about Bali anymore, but... The whole coming back to the studio, and reuniting with old friends thing had re-ignited a lot of feelings. Including her feelings about Bali. Apolline distracted herself with dance and photographs most of the time. Just like she was trying to now. Apolline looked around at the people arriving, but couldn't really see anyone she could talk to. Apolline finished up her stretch and decided to go over some old choreography while she was waiting. No pointe shoes today, so pointe-less dancing today. Apolline chuckled at her own pun and began warming up everything from arabesques to rond de jambes as she waited for class to start.

Nana Decided to get things started with those who were in her class now, who ever was late would just have to catch up. She stood at the front of the class her hands on her hips and waited for everyone to be quiet, which was rather quick due to her almost mean and frightening look. Once they were quiet she smiled. "Alright then! I want to see what we will be working with this year, I'm sure you all know each other if not of each other, but you can chit chat after we leave here!" She walked over to the stereo that was hooked up to her Ipod and unplugged it. I trust you all Carry around some sort of music with you, Quickly pick out a song and put it on and perform a short piece for us. Starting with the youngest."
She walked to the back of the room and folded her arms and stood waiting for the students to get moving.
