FIESTY && SASSY && HOTHEADED
Yes, there are plenty of other ways to describe the dynamic girl, but in the end? These are the ones typically pointed out from Mavis's friends and family. Especially her mothers. Being raised with seven different siblings, plus five other months, Mavis had picked up all sorts of things. From being a kind soul from her mother, from being able to run around and chase after her sisters when the time came for it.
She's beyond spirited, occasionally bouncing off the walls, but if you press the right buttons, she'll be kicking and yelling at you in no times flat. Though, if you're a friend chances are it's all in good fun. she's also known to get a bit mouthy, if she's threatened or irritated enough. Hell, sometimes she just does it to get a rise out of people, and to wreck a little bit of Heaven for everyone else.
A person could also add hotheaded to the trait list, especially when heights involved. She's the shortest of the group of friends, and if her pride wasn't stabbed enough, her height being the target of nicknames doesn't always fly. Nor is she afraid to butt heads with her friends, or with people trying to get her out of her comfort zone by too much.
KIND && STUBBORN
A trait that first grew on it's own accord, it's possibly the most cliche, but also the biggest part of her. By definition, yes, Mav is friendly, generous, and considerate by all meanings, that doesn't mean she'll let a person walk all over her. Nor does it mean she'll change her mind if it involves the better interest for her own family, or her friends so easily. The most cliche line of the paragraph? "Once she set's her mind to it, the less of a chance anyone has of changing it."
ADVENTUROUS && ADAPTABLE
You wanna go climbing? She'll join in. You want to sky-dive? Hold her hand and jump with her, and she'll do it. Mavis is all for new adventures and new experiences of all sorts, and can adapt at a decent pace to her new surroundings. Of course, this isn't to say they aren't hard for her as well. It's just something she'd get over quicker then the average person, but slower then the amazing expert.
A BALL OF LIFE && A|CUTE|JEALOUS|STORM
Okay, so she's a bounce off the wall type of individual, nearly impossible to depress, nearly impossible to "destroy". She could be the life of an innocent party which has to be mentioned because of the little flirts we have lingering, and simply the person who'd be nothing short of an 'amazing' friend. She's energetic, and something of a 'dreamer'. A fantasy seeker...
But don't let the shorty's personalty fool you. Beneath all that, lays the core her mothers installed from their own previous activities. A jealousy that's just waiting to burn itself to the surface, and cause it's fair share of hell to all those who crosses it's path. Totally pleasant to think about, huh?

For someone so happy, it shouldn't be surprising how much the girl actually loves. Dance, the passion Mavis had clung to throughout her years of highschool, and even now. Music, like any other eighteen year girl or boy out there, isn't any different for her. If she even hears a beat that remotely sounds something 'dance-able'. she'll end up twirling and spinning around the room, trying out new moves and simply being idiotic and silly. Though, when did that ever prove to be something so bad? Between her siblings and mothers though, its clear none of them exactly care for social norms anyway.

But as God as her witness, Mavis has some sort of undying hate towards 'players' she'd rather not let surface. Maybe it's because of that night in the classroom between Anders, herself, and Valentine, but it doesn't matter now. That doesn't mean the girl still doesn't hold slightly animosity towards overly... 'sexual' dances. But even that might be a poor way to explain it.

TALENTS
⋙ Dancing, but this should be fairly self-explanatory. It's primarily when it involves modern dance, though ballet will always be the roots of Mavis's dance.
⋙ Babysitting, or child care in general, just dude to some simple part-time jobs she still has involving the occupation. Considering Mavis eventually wants her own, she tries the best she can to keep them safe & happy.
⋙ Cooking, though primarily because of how she lives 'alone' most nights with her biological mom always at the hospital primarily the entire night. Considering she doesn't live in one giant house with her other 'moms' or her aunt, she had to learn how to sustain herself somehow.
⋙ Learning, be it how to do a new dance move, or how to do something completely new and out of her element.

FLAWS
⋙ Jealousy, a silent, deadly force that isn't exactly the best. She goes for the low-blows, subtly, when she's undergoing said emotion.
⋙ Noisy on occasion, when excited or simply irritated, she's known to make a scene, or be heard down the halls.
⋙ Overly stubborn, especially when she's heavily against it. If it's going to happen and she doesn't want it too, you can be damned sure she won't be there.
⋙ Certain dances, and that's just somewhat because of her refusal to learn them in general.

FEARS
⋙ Nothingness, an empty void that some speculate meets a person at the end of their life... But the thought of nothing? After everything a person goes through in life? It's... scary.
⋙ Injury, particularly the ones that could put an end to her dancing for good. As much as being a teacher for such an activity sounds great... It just wouldn't be the same with her being unable to join in on the dancing.
⋙ Jail, especially when it's the place her father resides. It's not because she fears her dad by any means, but it's because she knows about the people who reside their separately. Rapists, child molesters, murderers... People who strike a slight nerve in her brain.

To say Mavis had a normal childhood wouldn't actually be that far off from the truth. She honestly did around the time she was born to a single mother, and all the way up until she was six. The year she turned six though was the only year that seemed fuzzy when it came to the general... 'events'. Her mother had been doing some fairly in depth research about Mavis's birth father, and while she couldn't find him... she found an old friend, who had apparently given birth to the man's twins, and even married him at one point.

It was from there on, for some reason the two grown woman tried to find him together, perhaps to just yell and give him a piece of their own mind. In the end, it just lead to them finding two other woman, and six other kids. From there on, an unusual bond begun to form around the four woman, making them almost like sisters. Families from there on practically became one giant one, and each others kids were just as loved as blood ones.

And looking back on it? That is pretty much normal for Mavis. It wasn't until she was forced to either stay with another mom, or leave the school district Mavis seemed to hit the cold hard ground. No one knew what happened, as she seemed so intent on staying at the school with all her friends...

But she insisted on leaving after she had to go back to school to get her keys.

For a year, Mavis seemed so down on herself, almost like a ghost was haunting her. It wasn't until the end of that said year, she even began to resume the 'normal'. And had it not been for her aunt's insistence, she probably would of not even decided to 'go' to this old blast back down the past.

So begins...

Time: 8:45 PM
After all the students and coaches have had their day or reuniting a week before, now is the true reunite, where every student and coach gets over whatever feelings they had before and focus on the one thing that originally brought them back together in the first place: dance.
It was a last minute thing, seeing how the classes were to be schedule later, but it was clear no one could wait any long after having connected again so soon. It's dark, cold and dark and raining, yet comforting. The city of New York reminds many of home, when and where they used to practice together when times were less serious and dramatic.
Hopefully, that's still the case...

I shouldn't be here...

Nakahara had walked into the studio about twenty minutes ago. The people whom were there didn't even get a glance from him as his brown hues as he started quite adamantly at the floor as he strode inside. Being a professional, punctuality was in his blood. He had kept his distance from the group that was gathered there, leaning his back into the far wall.

He had taken some days off of work for this get together, having a couple months off of his usual and mundane desk job. The work itself was easy, but the work place gave off a very lonely feeling. So far, this place didn't feel all that different. He had no one to blame but himself though, purposely keeping a bit of a distance from the others. It had been years since he saw them all after they had left, leaving him the only one to remain in the end. He wasn't hurt by that however, but felt that he was the one at fault. The past week wasn't much different. Sure some of them sort of got to know each other once more but Naka had locked himself in his room, not bothering to come out until he had to be at the studio. Even then he left at the crack of dawn so hardly no one even knew he was there.

He, like many others most likely, had received a sort of introductory letter that stated their classes and dancing groups. His dull eyes scanned over the page, though he didn't feel the need to complain about being around the most sexually charged people, at least as far as he could remember.

The Exotic Predator, Carmen Villegas Cordero. One of the few people who was older than Naka himself. His rather erotic and spontaneous behavior would normally be at odds with Naka's more calm and dead pan appearance.

The Prince Charming, Eli Blaine Brasher. The younger brother of Dimitri with what seems to be an obsession with his own chest flaunting. Despite being insincere, he was someone Naka could respect, if not be slightly uncomfortable around.

The Sin, Valentine Sinclair. She's not all that a person in the end, honestly. After all someone who's a die hard for Shakespeare can't be all that bad. Naka can't help but remember some cringe worthy incidents with this underclassmen back in the day.

Lastly was their dance leader, or choreographer of sorts, Mikhail Yves Roux. This is an envy inducing sight to behold for Naka, as he greatly revered both his skill and personality. Mikhail was everything Nakahara could never dream to be.

As his eyes scanned the paper, Naka could almost feel himself shrink smaller and smaller still. He was an introverted and picky child in the presence of the very visage of 'sex' or 'excellence'. He felt dwarfed in comparison, though he did not mind. This, in his mind, was at least a bit normal. He continued to read the page.

Duet dancing. It's not as bad as dancing on his own, however the idea of dancing with one these people under the specialty of a professionally trained ballet and jazz dancer was not something to be over the roof about. He preferred group dances that required little to no physical contact in the end. None of them were shy about getting all touchy feely, much to his distress.

"...?"

A look of surprise came across his face. He had noticed all his thoughts. He was getting nostalgic over the names. He was thinking of what his life would be like in dance once more. Thoughts of returning to his desk job didn't cross his mind for once. He felt... Almost happy.

Was this the best choice in the end, after all?

Of course not. It was only a matter of time until he stained the bonds with his cowardly ways.

He let out a long sigh, looking up from the paper and around the room.

Dɪᴀʟᴏɢᴜᴇ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✦ #7E0517
Tʜᴏᴜɢʜᴛ Cᴏʟᴏʀ ✧ #F87217

Until the very last minute, Anders was standing on the small, little balcony of his apartment, smoking grey clouds of impure air and releasing it as it was pierced by the falling drops of rain. God was it raining hard tonight... and speaking of tonight, wasn't he supposed to be going to that dance thing? Yeah, he was, and he knew it. He knew he was supposed to go there and meet with everyone again, to try and dance with them again, as if nothing had happened before.

Nothing huh.... Bullshit. Things happened and he knew people wouldn't just forget it with a few years, even he didn't. He already talked things through with Mavis, though only briefly, but while it was possible to get back onto even grounds... Anders wasn't certain if things could still be classified as 'the same.'

'Well...' He began to think, moving to his car keys. 'It's not like anyone's expecting it to be the same. How bad could it be, anyways? People usually put on happy faces in front of others, don't they? So maybe things won't go wrong. Hmm. I should try going anyways. There's no harm in trying the class out and dropping it if it's boring.' He shrugged to himself and proceeded grab an old bag he used to put his dance supplies in, dropping his little puppy German Shepard in there as well, seeing how he couldn't leave her alone, and began to walk down the steps of his apartment to his car started.

While driving, he kept contemplating with himself: to go? or not to go? The smoking eventually grew tiring and he threw it out the window, allowing his car to take in some fresh air, for once. It seemed that just the way he drives described his whole character- with one hand on the wheel, one hand carelessly laying outside, feeling the heavy rain bang down onto his palm. He didn't care about getting wet. Maybe it'd give him an excuse to remove his shirt, right? No, Anders wasn't that kind of flirt. His shirt stayed on, no matter what occasion. Even if he ended up getting soaked in the rain, it'd stay on.

He parked his car outside, already noticing other cars in the area. Of course he didn't recognize them, seeing how the group split up when they were younger, in their teen years. He sat in his car for a bit, crossing his legs and debating further. He could just turn around and leave... ignore everyone and pretend as though he forgot about it all within a few weeks with the excuse that he had too much work... But... something in the back of his head kept nagging him to go inside and give it a shot. Anders heart his puppy complain in the back of the car, and maybe that's all he needed to know. "Alright, alright... Jeez, what was stubborn dog..." He sighed and grabbed the bag it laid in along side his bottles of water and other, before heading for the building.

For a long while, he stood outside the door, just staring at the handle, wondering if this really was the right choice. 'Well, fuck it.' He thought carelessly and opened it while saying flamboyantly, "I'm here, no need to worry anyone, seeing how I know everyone was worried for me." He added in a confident chuckle.

As soon as Emiko Aoki Mizuahara took her first step out of her mother's Volkswagen, she became nauseous. How long had it been since she last seen them? Emi didn't know. The thought was both nerve-wrecking and exciting all at once. What would she say to them? A simple 'hello' ? A slightly uncertain gesture? Hours and hours spent rehearsing her greetings in the bathroom seem to have gone to waste. There were no mirror giving back a reflection of herself. There were no doors closed on the act because all doors were opened.

It was now or never at this point.

She made a mental note of how she would escape this one, but it had seemed useless. She could do this. She was infact brave. Besides they were all her friends, well most of them .. others she couldn't bare to be in the same room with without going all apeshit. Now the question was, was she ready to go through all of that a second? Course she was. It was hardly her dance buddies she was ready to see again, but to be able to dance. The feeling was beyond exhilarating. Emi wondered who would be her coach this year. Zayn? Yves? .. Nana? More importantly, who would be in her dance class this year? She hoped it would be Bali. Or even Apolline. Oh, how she hoped it would be Apolline. She had missed her so dearly.

Emi didn't even realize when she first walked in that class hadn't even start yet. She was practically the only person here. Well, her and Anders of course, but he particularly didn't count as someone of "human species" in Emi's book.

Ignoring the fact that he- who should not be named - was in her dance class, she took up space on the far side of the room and began to stretch as her dance-mates began filing into the room ..

Music filled the dance studio as a pink haired girl sat on the ground, stretching. Zayn was preparing for her class that night, not quite sure what she was going to do yet. She hadn't had a whole lot of time to figure stuff out, expecting that they weren't going to start so soon. She figured for tonight she would get familiar with her students styles of dancing and then she'd go from there.

The last few years of traveling around the world she learned many different forms of dancing. Sure she may have only been trained in certain dance styles and those were the ones she mastered. However she had confidence in herself that she could do most any type of dance now, at least she could do the basics. Perhaps that was why she was stuck with such a diverse group.

As Zayn finished stretching she stood up and walked over to some papers she had beside her bags, her coin skirt jingling the entire way. She looked over the class roster once more. There were two in her class she wasn't quite familiar with since they were quite a bit counter than her. She was already out of school by the time they came. Then there was Mavis who she remembered from school, though they had never talked much. They were friendly enough with each other at least. Then there was Anders and she cringed a little when she came across his name. She hadn't really gotten to talk to him since she'd gotten back and she just knew things would be awkward.

Almost as if the universe had heard her thoughts, in walked Anders. She wasn't facing him as he came in so she closed her eyes for a moment, taking a quick deep breath before turning to him. "Oh yes Anders, we've been very worried about you." She said sarcastically before smirking a little at him. "How about you start stretching please? I do not wish for you to pull a muscle." She told him as she began stretching again herself, even though she knew she didn't need to.

A few moments later another person walked in and this time it was a girl. "You must be Emi. I'm so glad you could make it." She said to the girl with a friendly smile. She was glad this girl came in and started stretching right away.

        Why had she even agreed to this? Yes, she might of missed some of her old friends, Like Dimitri and Bali, but... But something just bothered her about the situation. Maybe seeing Valentine again? Or the conversation she had with Anders not even a week before? It was like the past she thought she had escaped was finally coming back to haunt here... And truth be told, she wanted to hide from it. Of course, she'd never state such a thing out loud to anyone, considering Garret or his boyfriend Wynn were out of town on some sort of long deserved road-type.

        'Ugh! Stupid, stupid, stupid!' His words echoed in her head like a sounding drum that just wouldn't shut up no matter how loud the music blasted in her ears. The moment she let herself relax, the moment she put her guard down, Mavis knew it would be far too late. He would just end up stirring up those forsaken feelings she so desperately tried to forget after their tragic last-meeting, and from what he told her that was the ultimate goal. Hell, it was because of him they were late their first class! It was just so typical of him too!

        Ahh, what was more of a pain was the fact she barely knew the coach. Honestly though, Ms... Monroe, was more of Anders' crowd then her own. The only reason she was actually ever friendly was because she was what Mavis assumed was the redhead's friend. Though, remembering his unfortunate track-history, she supposed now would be the time to suspect some... other forms of 'friendship' had gone down. Just in properly closed doors. And possibly on a bed. But, like mentioned before, it was simply a sort of 'speculation'. She wasn't exactly a pro on the subject to begin with, as she left that mainly to Dimitri's brother, Eli, or Carmen.

        Ooh, Carmen. Carmen and Mavis had something she would classify as 'strange'. They were friendly, but they were neutral at the same time. If anything, they were only 'close' in the terms of him being her first time a few days before she changed school districts. Though, that was their little secret, or it was Vissy's. While there weren't any particularly strong feelings towards him, she couldn't deny she was glad to see him at the very most. After all, he'd always have a small place in her heart with all things considering.

        As for the other two classmates, Mizuhara and Akizawa, she couldn't say she actually had a problem with them. That could of just been the friendly distant they had, though or at least that was how it was from Mavis' side of the fence. Who knew though, a lot could change in a simple class like this on-

        "Mavis Elora Miller, you're going to be late! I'll finish packing your things!" Anneta- or rather, mom, yelled, actually having the day off from the hospital for once. It wasn't every day Mavis actually got to spend time with her own, biological mother, but it was always more then welcomed in the end. Looking around her room the, the blonde honestly didn't make much progress then earlier. Getting up from her bed, Mavis ran a hand through her hair as she let out a brief sigh. Right, going to be late.

        "I got it mom, I'm going, I'm going!" Mavis called back, grabbing her bag of clothing to change into after dance, as well as whatever else she had thrown into the bag just in case of the sudden need for them, Mavis headed out of the bedroom, down the hall, and stopped by the stairs to give her mother a tight hug. "I'll see you later, then."

        After a small nod and a 'call me when you're done', Mavis was practically jogging back down the stairs and deciding to forget about grabbing an umbrella. What did a little rain do to hurt anyone, anyway? Jumping into her car, Mavis took her sweet damn time getting to the studio. After all, what were they going to do if it was a simple two or three minutes? It wouldn't be anything that drastic.

        Pulling up into the parking lot, Mavis grabbed her bag, dumping her car keys into it. Shutting the bag tightly, she made her way into the studio slowly, regardless of how wet she ended up getting. Wasn't there some fact that if you ran in the rain, you honestly got wet the same amount you would of as walking?

        But that was besides the point, and the blonde found herself cringing as her damp body entered the class, noticing Anders right away. Shit. There was Zayn, talking with him, and Emi was already stretching. Oh well, she could just try and make the best of it. "Hey guys! I hope everyone had a good day!" Mavis bubbled, offering a smile as the smallest set down her bag in a distant, untouched corner before stretching. Now, just to wait for class to start.
