Jordyn is of average height, standing just above 5'5" (okay, she considers it average.) Her naturally dark hair is unruly at best and hangs down to her waist. Jordyn is fascinated with her hair and absolutely refuses to cut it more than an inch. It is usually vaguely tangled and needs a lot of time and attention. Most of the time it hangs free, but if she gets annoyed, it will be up in a bun.

Hobbies: Jordyn can usually be caught with her nose stuck in a book, one hand holding the book, the other obsessively writing notes on it. She's not doing a report, that's just how she reads books. She writes all sorts of notes and observations on little things from the characters to something strange someone said on page fifty four. She does this for hours at a time, and is usually seen as a recluse because of it, when in reality, that's just how she passes her free time. If someone were to stop her and ask to do something, she'd abandon it in a heartbeat. It's just a pasttime...however strange others seem to find it. She keeps notebooks for each book she reads. The actual book reading only takes about a day, depending on the length of the book. The time of her going through and writing notes on it could take up to a month. Jordyn keeps notebooks with pretty much what could be described as a cheat sheet of each book she reads in it. A high school student could use it for a last minute book report if they wanted.
Along with all this obsessive reading and noting, she is a writer herself. There are way too many scrapped, half finished horror stories strewn amongst her things. She is a decent writer, but is absolutely terrible at endings, and cannot, for the life of her, properly write a character that is mentally stable in any way. Not quite famous novelist material. She tries, but she'll never be a Stephen King. Not unless she shifts her perspective and gets out of her bubble of comfort.
Cherished Items: Her charm bracelet: It is a sterling silver bracelet with four charms on it. One is a heart missing a section in the shape of a teardrop, another is pentacle, the third is the tree of life, the fourth a pair of what look like baby feet. The bracelet itself, along with the first charm of the heart, was given to her by her grandmother to help her cope with the death of her grandfather. The heart shaped section was buried with him. She added the pentacle when she decided on her religion, a proud eclectic Wiccan. The third goes with the second, a bit of confirmation with herself that she as at peace with her decision, and with her sexuality, despite what anyone says to her. The fourth charm represents her sister, who died at birth when she was barely old enough to understand, none the less really remember.
Her only other really important possession is a family portrait from when she was about ten. She is in her grandfather's lap, her grandmother standing behind him, with her two parents, all happy and peaceful together. Jordyn keeps it in a frame, usually tucked under her pillow because she doesn't like people asking about her family.

Personality: Jordyn isn't in your face, but isn't terribly recluse, either. She is the one to go to when you need someone to just listen, without seeming like they're dozing off in the midst of it. Jordyn isn't quick to give her opinion unless it is asked, or completely necessary. She's generally a warm, caring person who is quick to affection and reads people quite easily. She doesn't really outwardly express most of her emotions, usually wearing a small smile that hides any disturbance. She is much like a two way mirror. She could see through a person, but they cannot see back unless she decides to take down the defenses. This doesn't make her frigid or bitter. She just doesn't really express herself well.
Jordyn still feels and gets upset, happy, and excited, etc, like any other human being. It's just that being vocal about it doesn't come super well to her. She holds up this gentle facade of being generally happy as an alternative to everyone thinking she is miserable because she doesn't dance around like most teenage girls when pleased. The best way to explain her behaviour is that of someone who has been raised to behave properly.
That being said, she is generally a very patient person. It takes a lot to get on her bad side. If you do get on her bad side, though, expect a rather bitter cold shoulder. Jordyn won't raise her voice or throw temper tantrums. She is the silent angry type. She will shoot you looks that, if looks could kill, would wipe out an entire continent in one glance. Jordyn is a huge fan of the silent treatment and will make it feel like hell on earth in the process, pretending you don't exist.
If you can get past the fact that she doesn't actively express her emotions, and find a way to expose the inner, you generally have an honest, patient, loving friend. She is willing to keep the darkest secrets, and does her very best to never betray those she cares for. Jordyn is very stubborn about secrets, and was known in high school, as a joke, as the "chamber of secrets," because she knew so much about a lot of very popular people, but never spoke. Jordyn could ruin lives with the things she knows. But she doesn't.
Thoughts on situation: Jordyn is upset with her parents' reaction to her coming out, but has come to accept her surroundings. She is amongst friends here, and has decided that it's a blessing in disguise. She can spread her wings a little, relax a little, and not have to watch her every move. She's not as heavily judged here, and in that she can take some peace.
Brief History: Jordyn was the first child of a upper-middle class couple. Her mother works part time as a caretaker in a hospice, and her father is a lawyer. He didn't get rich like so many movies portray, but they lived very comfortably. Her mother loved to entertain, and Jordyn was taught how to behave when company is around. When she got into her teens, her father started running for office, changing his profession, and eventually becoming a judge. He was rather well known, and now so was Jordyn.
This runs into problems when she started to struggle with her sexuality. Jordyn was approached and dated quite a few guys in her teenage years, but never quite felt the spark that was supposed to be there. It wasn't until when she was sixteen, and she met her first girlfriend, that it clicked. It was a secret relationship, just something silly and no-strings attached. The two met at a bonfire that Jordyn attended, and they fooled around while everyone slept. It started with a kiss. It was so simple, so innocent, but so sweet. It finally worked in Jordyn's head that she was attracted to her. They started with small things, before slowly building up to a long term relationship. A year into the heavily guarded relationship, she was faced with a horrible reality: it was all a fraud.
Her girlfriend had been questioning her sexuality the entire time, and decided she wasn't really attracted to Jordyn, just the idea. Kasey, the girlfriend in question, broke up with Jordyn in favor of a mutual male friend of theirs. It broke her heart, and shattered her perception of love. Jordyn found herself unable to believe any girl she met that said they were lesbian or bisexual, based on her bitter experience with her ex girlfriend. It still is a touchy subject, and causes Jordyn to shy away from love, or anything really close to it. Even here, where their sexuality is the reason for their gathering, she still is skittish on the topic of relationships.
It was after the breakup that Jordyn came out to her parents. They were furious. No! She needed therapy. Six months of therapy didn't work. A year of fighting with her and pushing guys on her didn't work. This was terrible for her father's image, and they were terrified the press would find out. The prominent judge, with a lesbian daughter? What a scandal! It's the modern age, but her parents were absolutely convinced that she was going to shame the family and somehow cost her father his job. It was decided shortly before her nineteenth birthday that she was going to move. Her parents would pass it as her going away for college, or going to live with a relative. She would be dumped from their lives until she wasn't a danger to them anymore...whenever that was. Despite their differences, her parents send gifts on her birthday and holidays. It kept up appearances that she was normal. It didn't heal the hurt from being rejected by her parents. Money can't buy love or replace it.
