History

Reason for admission: After having a fight with her stepfather, later that night she went out to the garage, grabbed a gasoline tank and set fire to the house, killing both her stepfather and her mother in their beds.

Basic history: Mindy was born to a women's clothing store clerk and a fireman. She had an older brother, Theodore, who was her BBBFF (Big Brother Best Friend Forever) while growing up. Her life was perfect until her father was killed in a horrible fire accident when she was 10. After the accident, she saw her mother go down a spiral of depression, leaving her ignored and having to depend on Theodore for everything. It took 5 years before her mother's personality started to change, all to the help of her new Boyfriend, Paul. When her mother was around, Paul was the perfect 'boyfriend' and 'father," but once her mother was out of the house did Paul show his 'true' self. He worked slowly, at first it started as innocently sitting next to her on the couch, then moved to gently stroking her arm to combing back her hair and giving her comments about how pretty she was. Then, two years later, after he officially became her new 'Father' did things start going down hill.

By this time, Paul was already taking advantage of her and raping her. Mindy tried to tell her mother, but her mother wouldn't believe that her perfect husband would do anything that horrible. She ran away a few times to her brother's apartment, hoping that he would believe her. She was crushed when he never did, always bringing her back to the house when ever she ran away. All of this was starting to take a toll on her. She started drinking, doing all sorts of drugs, and smoking, and from her smoking habit did her pyromaniac love started. She started to burn smaller things at first, like leaves and paper, then started to move to the bigger things.

One night, Paul and Mindy got into a big fight over her behavior and when her mother was out again, she was raped again for 'punishment.' That was Mindy's breaking point. Later that night, when both Paul and her mother were asleep, she went out to the garage, grabbed a gasoline tank, pouring it all out inside the house and set the place on fire. She quickly ran out and to her brother's apartment where she stayed there, not saying anything about the accident. Finally, a month later, she admitted to Theodore that she was the one that did it. Theodore was shocked and horrified that his little sister would do this, soon he admitted her to the hospital, hoping that there she can get some sort of help.

So begins...

Mindy sighed as she opened her eyes and looked around. She must have dozed off during the movie, because when she opened her eyes, she noticed most, if not all, where leaving the recreation room. She sat up on the couch, stretching her whole body out and enjoying the peace and quiet she got while doing it when she was interrupted by a nurse that walked up on her from behind.

"Come on now, sleepy-head, It's time to get some lunch."

The nurse seemed cheery, way to cheery for Mindy's liking. The nurse was an older looking one with silver hair that was tied up in a very neat bun. Her smile seemed sincere, but Mindy didn't trust her...she didn't trust anyone of the nurses.

Mindy scowled at the nurse and pushed herself up from the very comfy couch and stormed off toward the cafeteria. "Yeah, yeah...I know..You old coot." She muttered under her breath, sticking her hands deep into her pockets as she walked off.

Once she entered the cafeteria, Mindy narrowed her eyes when she saw that there were already people inside and eating lunch. She sighed and walked over to the line, quickly grabbing the chicken nuggets and fries along with a glass of milk, looking around for any spot to sit. She saw a couple of tables that had a few people sitting at them, she avoided all those have more than two people at them. She narrowed her eyes more and sighed. The only spot she could see was next to a table that had a girl, eating what looked to be some sort of a sandwich. She slowly walked to the table beside it and sat down, looking in disgust at her food as she picked at it.

(I hope I entered in okay, since it already started I just tried to match up with what the schedule said was going on...I hope this is okay)

Kaylee frowned, taking pity on the poor kid. Whatever had happened to him, he didn't deserve it, and he wasn't going to talk about it. Kaylee got up with her sandwich, which she hadn't touched, and moved over to the table with the piano girl and the other girl. "Hi." she said. "What are your names?"

Mindy was slowly picking at her food, the fries and nuggets really did not look appetizing today. She grabbed a nugget and popped in her mouth, chewing it slowly as she glanced around those who also eating their lunch. She stopped chewing her food and looked up at the girl that randomly sat at the table and asked about her and the other girl's name. She stared at the newcomer, watching her carefully before finishing the food in her mouth and answered. "Mindy Haline." She answered quickly then looked back at her food to poke at it for a moment.

"Why do you want to know?" She asked the newcomer, giving her a side glance as she grabbed her milk and took a quick drink of it.

Alise looked up in surprise as the other girl came over to her. "Um, I'm Alise Hayden. And you are?" Mindy introduced herself and spoke somewhat sharply. As Mindy talked, Alise wondered if it was a some kind of trick.

"Oh, I'm Kaylee." she said with a smile. She was a bit surprised at the hostility at the table, but she supposed she should stop being surprised at this place. "Nice to meet you Mindy, Alise. That was some beautiful piano playing." She looked at Mindy with surprise. "Only what you want to tell me. I'm not a shrink or anything."

Mindy studied the new girl, Kaylee, for a long while. Not trusting this 'all too friendly chick" at all. She gave a tight small smile as she turned a little bit to face Kaylee and nodded, talking to her in her sweetest voice that she could. "No, of course you're not a shrink. Why would anyone make you a shrink?" Her smile quickly faded after that and turned back to her nuggets, picking one up before throwing it back on the tray, muttering how it was now cold.

Trying to focus on her food, she still was pulled toward the conversation that Kaylee and Alise were having. Facing her food, her eyes still flickered back and forth from the two girls to her food.

Mindy spoke sharply again. Alise glanced at ger, a little worried. Why did she react the way she did? Hoping to ease the tension, Alise smiled at Kaylee. "Thank you. I really love playing the piano. How about you? Do you play any instruments, or have a hobby?" Chewing on her sandwich, she waited for an answer.

Kaylee knitted her brow at Mindy. There was really no cause to be a jerk. She wondered why the girl was being so odd. "I used to play the oboe, but I quit so that I could study languages. I love German and Arabic." She paused, then said uncomfortably, "Do you mind if I ask you why you're in here? Because you seem so... normal."

Mindy noticed Kaylee as she knitted her brow and Alise glancing at her, mentally smirking from their reactions. That amused her a little bit, not like she really cared how they thought of her. She didn't trust them anyway...they seemed too, 'goody two-shoes,' and those are kind of people she REALLY didn't trust.

She silently sat there, still listening in to their conversation that they were having while she looked around the cafeteria with a bored expression on her face. The room seemed filled with others, some sat together in bunches with friends, others were alone. She really didn't like being in here, she didn't trust anyone...no one can be trusted in this place.

She continued to stare off into space as she looked around the cafeteria, still listening in on the girls' conversation in case she wanted to randomly chime in.

Mindy looked back at the girls as Alise answered Kaylee's question. She started chuckling softly before addressing the girls. "You know, that was really a stupid question to ask." She directed it to Kaylee as she turned to face them. "Of course something has to be wrong with her if shes in this place, why else would she be here?"

She grabbed her milk and took another gulp of it before holding it, swirling the contents around in the glass. "Besides, we are all normal. But since out there they don't think we are, they force us in here, being their little personal monkeys and they will keep us here as long as they get paid for it. They really are not trying to help us at all." She finished her rant, leaning back in her chair and watching the girls.

Emily walked into the cafeteria holding the hand of a nurse, she was scared, terrified. every one around her looked so different. "now dear you're plenty old to stay here now." The nurse said with a smile that didn't calm Emily's nerves. The nurse showed her the lunch options and had her chose. After she spent a long time staring at the food she chose the chicken nuggets and milk.

After the nurse said goodbye and left her alone Emily couldn't think of where to sit, the girls sitting at the table seemed nice except for one who seemed mean. The only other girl was talking to a boy and even though she couldn't comprehend how close they where talking she knew not to sit there in fear of being bullied.

Yet there was a boy, sitting alone and seemed to be as scared as she did. A small side of her said not to sit there but the larger half of her curiosity got her and she wondered over to his table and sit across from him. "U-um....hi...my name is Emily and..." A small childish smile grew on her face. "Hi"

Alise watched curiously as Kaylee seemed to battle with herself. She was scared, Alise could feel, whimpering slightly at whatever it was inside her mind. When she finally stopped and apologised to Alise, Alise could only nod in forgiveness. What was the point in being sorry? There wasn't much to know, anyway. Alise tried to comfort herself in the fact that Alise hadn't thought her weird.

Of course something has to be wrong with her if she's in this place, why else would she be here? Alise looked up sharply as Mindy's words sliced through the air. "There's really no need to be so mean, she was just wondering," Alise muttered under her breath. Angry as this girl was at being here, she had no right to be mean to people she didn't know well.

Kaylee sat awkwardly for a moment as she listened to Mindy's words. Then she suddenly began to get angry. Really angry. She was already being tortured by her own mind, and she didn't need this jerk to torture her too. Kaylee turned on her, her eyes welling up with hot tears of anger. "There's no need to be such a bitch." She started, her voice low and shaky. "What's your problem, anyway? You do belong here, I can tell, so stop ranting about being normal, 'cause you aren't. Alise and I might be, but not you, you twerp." Kaylee realized what she had said only after she said it. Then she felt terrible. But saying sorry wouldn't quite cover it, and so she sat there, a tear rolling down her face, struggling with the intensely awkward situation she had put herself in. She raged inwardly at herself for being so provocative. Why did this always happen to her?

Mindy let her gaze slide back to Kaylee, ignoring Alise comment, and stared at Kaylee intensely, her eyes narrowing at her. 'Twerp'? Mindy wanted to chuckle a little bit at that name, how old was she? 5? But her anger was started to peak as she continued to glare at Kaylee before opening her mouth to speak.

"My problem is none of your concern. Besides, I'm just telling the truth on how things are. If you want to continue thinking that those 'doctors' are actually helping you, go ahead, continue believing that something is wrong with you and that you need help. But as long as the doctors think that there is something wrong, you will be stuck in here forever, because they have the final say wither or not you can leave this place. And as long as they get paid, that will be a very long time before one of us steps a foot out of this place."

She took a deep breath and let it out slowly...but that didn't help much with her anger. Her body started shaking a little bit as she pulled out her magnifying glass and started playing with it on the table...She really needed a smoke, this place was stressing her out more and more.

A shiver ran down her spine as Bobbi looked over to one of the other tables. They had caught her attention because Kaylee, the girl Robin met earlier, was dissolved to a crying state as an interesting new patient mouthed off at her. Bobbi couldn't help but giggle, then she snapped to attention as she girl began burning the table with a magnifying glass. Turning swiftly to Syn she said, "I have an idea..." pointing the the angry blond.
"Go over there and sweet talk that feisty chick into making a scene for us during pay time." Pausing she downed the rest of her drink,"Then we will be sure to sneak out. Especially if we can get her to make someone else cry. That made my day!"
Subconsciously she could hear Robin scolding her, but Bobbi was having too much fun for that.

Once again she looked around, another new patient entered. She looked pretty rough, and sat alone. Bobbi did notice that this young girl had lovely long black hair. With a shrug however she returned her gaze to Syn and watched him do his magic.

Syn followed Bobbi's gaze as it ventured towards the table with several girls at it. Kaylee was crying, and there was a new girl, burning the table. Syn raised an eyebrow, and his lips turned into a smirk. She would definitely be interesting to get to know.

"I have an idea..." She pointed over to the table. "Go over there and sweet talk that feisty chick into making a scene for us during pay time. Then we will be sure to sneak out. Especially if we can get her to make someone else cry. That made my day!"

Syn laughed as well and didn't even hesitate to get up from his seat. His boots clunked across the tile floor of the cafeteria as he sauntered over to the girls' table. He grabbed a chair and pulled it up close to the new girl. He cleared his throat and leaned over onto the table. "Hello, ladies." He winked at Kaylee then looked over at the new girl. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Sy- I mean, Nate."

He watched her play with the magnifying glass. "Seems like someone is a little stressed, huh? Well, the next recreation time is coming up after this. I might have a proposition for you. A sort of, you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours type of thing. You see, being a veteran of this place gives me certain... perks if you will."

He glanced over at Bobbi and gave her a little wink, hoping that this would go over the way he wanted. Being the feisty type that she seemed, it could be either really easy or she could tell him to fuck off. It was anyone's game at this point.

"So, what do you say? Are you in?" He gave her a grin that was playfully mischievous, hoping she'd be interested in what he could potentially offer.

Mindy was still playing with her magnifying glass and was about to go on another rant when suddenly some guy pulled up a chair, sitting really close beside her. Both shock and annoyance went across her face as the stranger introduced himself and started talking about a "proposition." Her eye brow went up in curiosity and leaned back against her chair as she also stole a look back at the girl that he winked at. She threw a narrowing glance at Bobbi before looking back at Syn.

"And I have a feeling your little girlfriend is in on this too?" She asked, watching him carefully before sighing, lifting her magnifying glass up to the light and looked through it before continuing. "And if I agree to this...what do I get in return?" she asked, sounding a little bored but deep down, she was quite interested.

She seemed to forgotten both Alise and Kaylee as she waited for Syn's response.

(sorry for the late reply, internet was down for a bit)

Alise sat there, listening to Kaylee and Mindy yell at each other. Clapping her hands to her ears, she scrunched her eyes shut and concentrated on breathing in and out. She hated fights, and thought about yelling at them to make them shut up, but she knew that would create even more trouble, so she kept her mouth shut.

Under her breath, Alise muttered, "Stop it, just stop it." Finally, Kaylee got up and left, tears streaming down her face. Another guy came over to their table, and Alise decided to move. She couldn't stand all this.

Pushing away from the table, Alise followed Kaylee at a distance. She watched as Kaylee stopped to speak to a nurse, then walked off quickly. Alise hurried to catch up. "I'm sorry for what happened," she said quietly once she was paced with Kaylee.

Syn watched the girl's brow raise as he spoke, then shoot a glance behind him. He wondered at who, but he had an idea who it was.

"And I have a feeling your little girlfriend is in on this too? And if I agree to this...what do I get in return?" She continued to play with her magnifying glass. He wondered why she was so intrigued by it. Perhaps she had a sort of god complex, which could explain her attitude.

"Uhm, yeah, I guess you could say that." He smirked and cocked his head in interest. "I could offer a lot of different things. It would depend on what it is you wanted. Pills, a way outside, better movie selection, an in with a certain person or crowd. Hell, I know every crevice of this place. I know every secret."

He was interested in her answer, as it would tell a lot of her personality. He glanced over at Kaylee, who gave him a look. He chuckled, knowing how she felt of him, knowing who he really was at the moment. She mentioned feeling sick, and excused herself from the table. He watched her scurry over to the nurses and have a short conversation. Most of it he couldn't make out, but he could have sworn he heard "Syn" and "Bobbi." Had she tattled? It's quite possible, it seemed like her. However, the nurses didn't quite react in a way that would cause immediate alarm, but he knew he had to be extra cautious, just in case. Alise ran after Kaylee, leaving him alone with his potential partner in crime.

"I'd even let you in on our plans, if you're interested. It could cause quite a commotion, which should be endless fun. That is, if you're into chaos. Not everyone here is, and I can understand that. So what do you say? Name your price." He smiled and leaned back in his chair, waiting for the answer.

She continued to sit there, looking bored as he answered her question, looking up at the glass as she started to feel a warm spot on her forehead from where heat were starting to form.

"I could offer a lot of different things. It would depend on what it is you wanted. Pills, a way outside, better movie selection, an in with a certain person or crowd. Hell, I know every crevice of this place. I know every secret."

Her eyes widened at 'A way outside' and she quickly turned to face him. Could this guy really get her outside? Outside from this place? Could she even trust him? She continued to watch him as she listened in, a small smile started to appear on her lips.

I'm in...I'm interested in what you all have planned. And trust me, I enjoy chaos." She leaned very close to him giving him, her lips were curved into a sexual smile as she reached over and tapped his nose with her magnifying glass. She then pulled back and sat back in her chair, placing on leg over the other as she watched him. "So...whats the plan?"

Syn could tell that the girl was at least partially interested. He could tell at this point that, if he played his perfectly placed cards right, he'd get his way.

"I'm in...I'm interested in what you all have planned. And trust me, I enjoy chaos."

Syn smirked and let out a small chuckle. Perhaps this would be more fun than he originally thought it would be. He watched as she leaned in, her lips curved seductively. When she tapped his nose with her magnifying glass, he twitched then shuddered, his smirk dropping. He didn't like being touched like that, but he'd let it slide. For now. He needed her assistance to get what he wanted. Messing things up with her would ruin everything. He took in a deep breath and returned his devious smile. He glanced back and Bobbi, saying with his eyes that she owed him. As much fun as it was to get others involved, Bobbi and he both knew he was terrible in situations like this. Situations that could cause Syn to snap at any moment. Bobbi was always better at pretending, Syn not so much. As of yet, however, he's kept his composure long enough to get things started.

"So...whats the plan?"

"Why don't you join Robin and I at our table to further discuss our plans. It'll be easier if we're all together. Won't have to explain it twice." Syn stood up from his chair before even finishing his sentence and began walking back to the table. He could feel his seems beginning to stress. He wouldn't have been able to stand much longer without Bobbi's assistance. He made it back to the table and sat next to Bobbi. "Well, she's interested. Now to discuss our plan." He crossed his arms on the table and put his head on top of them, cooling down before he snapped. He was too close.

He lifted his head up slightly. "By the way, what was up with Kaylee? I could of sworn that I heard something off." His voice was muffled through his arms, but still clear enough to understand. "And I noticed a nurse come by to talk to you. Is everything okay?"

Syn was making headway with the plan, and soon returned to the table with their new partner in crime. As he returned and placed his head down she placed a gentle hand on his back and rubbed it for a moment as he spoke.
"Well, she's interested. Now to discuss our plan....By the way, what was up with Kaylee? I could of sworn that I heard something off....And I noticed a nurse come by to talk to you. Is everything okay?"
"Looks like we have a tattler on our hands," she sneered. Robin and this girl may be friends, but Bobbi was really starting to dislike her, especially if she could tell them apart so easily.
"I threw the nurse off my trail however, they will probably watching us more carefully now that it's been mentioned once."
Leaning back in her seat she looked over at the girl, giving her a once over. Seemed like the kind of person Bobbi would like, but Robin would steer clear of her.
"We will have to make this quick, the three of us together may become suspicious....The plan is to sneak Syn here outside on the next break. Robin is allowed outside, so as long as I keep this charade up we should have more luck actually getting past the nurses here. First however we need a distraction, a ruccus of some kind. We plan on going to watch a movie on the next break, but we will need to draw the nurses attention away long enough to get him out. If you can do that for me, I can get you a pack of Marlboro Smooths."
Robin's aunt was due for a visit soon, and was a heavy smoker. Bobbi had taken a few for herself every now and then, as slipping the pack out without her noticing was easy. Taking candy from a baby.

With a smile she rested her head on her hand, elbow pressed to the table, "So the question is, What kind of chaos do you feel like causing? Depending on what you choose, you could slip away yourself. I was thinking about causing an argument between some of the other patients, and slipping away while the nurse rush to break it up."

Mindy watched Syn get up and walked over to the table with the other girl and followed a few minutes afterwards taking the chair and sitting on it backwards. She sat down as Bobbi was explaining the plan and nodded silently. She could think of something...and already had a plan forming slightly.

"So the question is, What kind of chaos do you feel like causing? Depending on what you choose, you could slip away yourself. I was thinking about causing an argument between some of the other patients, and slipping away while the nurse rush to break it up."

She smirked when asked what kind of chaos she liked to cause, leaning back in her chair, she turned so that she could see Bobbi more, twirling her magnifying glass in her fingers. "An argument would work...but that's not really fun. All I need is some light and some paper or dry grass and we can really see some sparks fly."

She knew that where they have the movies and things, they also had a large collection of old boring books. If she could get outside it would be better, but lately she hasn't been on her good side to be permitted outside. "It might be more risky being in doors, but that's half the fun."

Syn shivered lightly under Bobbi's soft touch on his back.

"Looks like we have a tattler on our hands. I threw the nurse off my trail however, they will probably watching us more carefully now that it's been mentioned once."

Syn sighed in relief, knowing that they could have been that close to being caught. Thank god the nurses only took most of what patients said at face value until something actually happened that would raise eyebrows. It was true that they would be keeping a closer eye on Bobbi and him, but Mindy was another story, however, once seen together, it could raise suspicion, but then again, the nurses were usually too focused on each other during meals to even notice.

Syn listened as Bobbi explained their pre-discussed plans. He was sort of off in space for a moment, lost in his own thoughts. What would he do once outside? What could he do? Would Mindy join?

"An argument would work...but that's not really fun. All I need is some light and some paper or dry grass and we can really see some sparks fly."

Syn lifted his head from the table and looked at Mindy, then at her magnifying glass. "Well, there is always paper at the arts and crafts table. That's where Nate usually goes during recreation anyway. Plus, it's right by the window to the outside area, not far from the door."

A nurse rang the bell that signified that lunch was over and the next recreation period was to begin. Syn immediately stood from his seat. "We cannot all leave together. I'll meet you guys over there." Syn quickly left the table, wanting a few moments to plan out in his head exactly what to do and where to go once he was actually outside. A fire would definitely help them out, but in order to get away with it, they'd need a place to hide. There were only so many places out of view, and most of them were monitored by cameras. Bobbi would hopefully know of at least one place where they could hide while the nurses and doctors dealt with the chaos they'd surely start. She has been able to go outside more often, anyway.

Syn was also wondering how much longer he could be hold of Nate. It had been a while since he's taken over this long. At least it'd be interesting to see Nate freak out if Syn couldn't hold on any longer, or chose not to, and he was outside, hiding away with Bobbi and potentially Mindy. Maybe he'd keep that in mind if things get boring.

"An argument would work...but that's not really fun. All I need is some light and some paper or dry grass and we can really see some sparks fly."
"I like the way you think honey," Bobbi smirked, looking over at Syn.
As the nurse rang the bell the group departed, separately of course. Bobbi strolled past a nurse, who was eyeing her suspiciously, but with a quick Robin smile and wave the woman melted and continued her work.
As she passed by the window she saw other patients, from other wings she assumed all playing out in the courtyard. This would help their cover when they finally mad it outdoors. A sliver of sentiment crossed her as she saw the old tree, [font-Papyrus]That's where we will go...[/font]
With a smirk she headed into the TV room, taking the seat on the sofa closest to the door. When the nurse was picking the movie, that would be the best time. Her back will be away from the patients, and she will no longer be at the door. Sitting back, she waited to see what Mindy would pull off.
