Rumors are that Blair (or Blaire, depending on how ey feels like spelling it today) may have been involved in the closing of Sundown Ranch a couple of years ago, but... seriously? You aren't really buying that, are you? I mean, from the notices on eir apartment door, ey can't even remember to pay rent on time (or remove months-old notices from their door, for that matter), let alone take down a program that had taken in, broken down and built up hundreds of wayward teens over the span of its 22-year existence.

It could also be, though, that ey is never home. Or only for one or two nights a week, and then half of it is spent eating way too many chicken tenders down at the Roxy diner near Portland's Pearl District at strange hours of the night. The rest of the time... well, last week it was Idaho, tracking down a kid who'd run away from a wilderness program and getting him safely back to his aunt in Minnesota before his parents could intervene. Before that, there was driving down to somewhere in Bumfuck, Nevada to pose as one of several established educational consultants and welcome the proud owners of the newest specialized boarding school to the industry. And not put any recording devices that can be monitored remotely in their facilities or anything, no, definitely not. This week? It's time to start looking at what can be done about Northern Star out in the Oregon desert. And hopefully not get kicked off campus on sight this time around.
