Introduction

While the news is devastating not all hope is lost. Some of us are surviving, we have never been a speices that would go out quietly, we can be resilent and resourceful. So I task those of you still alive with one essential purpose:
Live. Survive. Thrive.
If you believe in a higher power, ask for guidence. If you don't, believe in your fellow man. You, the survivors, have the chances to start anew, to keep this world alive. I know, what I ask of you is not easy, for you all are the most unlikely survivors, but it is your duty. Do not give up, do not lose faith. The CDC is working very steadily on a vaccine. All we need to do is stay calm and avoid any sort of panic. Fear spreads faster than anything. It's that simple. God bless and goodnight." -- President of the United States

When people started getting sick, they thought it was just the flu. Everyone got sick, no one was immune. You should have died with the rest of the world, but you didn't. While you thought witnessing the human population almost disappear offnthe face of the earth was the craziest thing you'd ever experience, you were wrong. So very wrong.
The Virus changed everything. The world you knew is gone, and life is backwards. We've all had to start over. Most of us have been stripped of our homes, our dreams. Everyone is broken and changed. The aftermath of the Virus has stranded you. Now you must trust strangers, making sacrifices, kill - you'll have to do anything to survive, because not everyone who survived is still sane. Fear and pain may be unavoidable, but you're strong...we're survivors. To continue surviving in this unfamiliar world plagued by Crazies and strange new abilities, we have to adapt. We have to evolve.
It started out as a simple flu, spreading quickly like H1N1 once had. Those who became sick fled to the hospital, the one place they thought their chances of survival would be best. They were so very wrong. The virus spread quickly through the hospital, building up the body count so high that the CDC had to step in and quarantine all of the hospitals. Nobody could leave, and nobody could come in. They were foolish. The body count rose because no one got the proper care they needed. Doctors and Nurses were the first to go.
In a short span of one week, the world crumbled and fell apart, all because of one virus. As the body count rose to the 50-thousands, people began to riot, trashing stores and cities. Everyone took to the streets and wrecked havoc. On Friday of that week, the Crazies made their first appearance. They had made it through the worse of the virus, they had somehow managed to pull through, but the fever did something to them, it melted their brains. They killed and destroyed. Everything really did fall apart. It's been three weeks since mankind crumbled and the last broadcast, promising hope, stopping airing.
Now there are rumors of a colony in california, promising sane survivors a chance at the new world. It's your job to push through, from wherever you are, and make it there, so you can fulfill the presidents last wishes and help rebuild mankind.

Please reserve characters in the OOC. I won't accept any random submissions, no matter how awesome they are. Also, this is not a first come, first serve role-play and you might have to compete for your spot should another person show interest. If you reserve a character, they will be chosen based on creativity, depth, length, and originality. The more creative and detailed your character sheet, the more likely you'll get accepted, I will not accept anyone with a seriously lacking character. There is a secret password in here. Find it by reading my rules.
As far as Literacy goes, if you cannot make a proper sentence, please do not join this role-play. While I do not expect you to be an advanced literate role-player, I would expect you to know how to use spell-check and have basic grammar skills Not only will I be looking for detail in your character sheet, but proper grammar and spelling as well. This role-play is to be literate, meaning posts are to be kept at a minimum of 200+ words. I know we are not perfect but at least try to be semi-literate. As for reservations, What face claim are you going to use for your character [ANIME ONLY]? The code for reservations is your biggest fear, your favorite quote and who said it, and find a way to tell me what your favorite color is without making it obvious. I want to see who reads the rules and who doesn't.
I am aware that we all have lives outside of role-playing and our computer screens. Some of us either attend school or have a full-time job, sometimes both. All I ask is that you post at least twice a week. If, for any reason, you find yourself unable to post for x-amount of time, please notify me. I do not bite, I understand how busy we all can be, I am a very busy person myself, and that all of our schoolings end at different times, but at least try to stick around.
This role-play is meant for you to grow as a role-player and hopefully expand your writing skills as well, and we also want this roleplay to grow, if things go as planned, if we finish this roleplay I will make a part two for it, so this kind of ties in with commitment, I might even go a RP before the world ended. Just have fun with this, okay guys? I want everyone to enjoy themselves, and I do NOT want the rules to stop any of you from joining, it may seem like a lot, but really, when you get down to it, it's not.
Let it be noted that this roleplay if for mature individuals, and it will remain within the RPG rules at all times. There will be violence, gore, death, and bloody scenes. There will be no mention of rape in this roleplay, and regarding other roleplayers and their fears, there will also be no mentions of drowning.
The character sheet will be up in the OOC.
