Fullshire Academy. One of the highest ranked private schools in the nation. It was my brains that got me here, and thank God for whoever created scholarships because I'd still be stuck in a trailer cleaning up my father's beer bottles. Fun. I stepped out of my old, banged up van. Yes, of course it was one of the hottest cars I mean, who wouldn't want it? Right... I tugged on my black uniform and curled my blonde hair behind my ear. The gates were beginning to flood with students. I scooted up to the sidewalk as whispers ran through the crowd. I searched the students for Kanjie, I guess he was arriving next. I mean, he was part of the Night Class. Silence fell over the group as Principal Wilkins approached the gates. I pressed up against my toes to rise above the students in front of me. I could barley see anything, but I recognized Scott in his usual position who was leaning against the gate with a icy stare on his face. Are we prisoners or something?
Mr. Wilkins went over the rules, it happened every year because it was like he was dictator. I guess we actually were prisoners. My stomach grumbled. Had I really forgotten breakfast? I was thinking to hard again. Focus.

"Curfew is 10:30...Disciplinary Committe...Gavinsville..." Mr. Wilkins just kept going on, and on. I slightly yawned until I was hit in the back with a purse. The stampede! I completely forgot!

"Midnight Dorm!" A voice squeaked in the distance. "Shit..." The girls began to push and pull and fill into the gates, I was trampled on at my sides and my new uniform boots were stepped on many, many times. After I regained my composure, I took a deep breathe and walked through the gates of Fullshire Academy. The perfect private school. Rose bushes and newly planted trees lined the outer walls of the building. The two Dorms were seperated on each side. On the right, The Daylight Dorm. On the left, The Midnight Dorm where girls were screaming to watch the Night Class pass by. Why were we seperated? No one knew. I looked at the Disciplinary Committee pushing them back with all of their strength. Sometimes, I couldn't blame the Day Class girls. The Night Class students were truly beautiful. I couldn't help but stare at them entering through the gates. Alexandra with her long silver hair, Luciano and his charming looks, Hunter with a wide grin on his face, and Ai with her delicate body and soft look. Then there was Kanjie, pretty much my best friend. You could never tell what he was thinking... He always had a sullen look on his face. I guess that's why I could talk to him so easily, he was calm... and quiet. Criticism? Nope. Not a word out of his mouth. His long hair trailed behind his back as he blended in with the rest of The Night Class.

"Look! There they are!"

"Even more beautiful than last year..."

"He's so looking at me! Isn't he looking at me?"

"Yeah right, ho dosen't have the sense to look at you."

"Hey!"

The whispers of the crowd surrounding the Midnight Dorm sprung into a chant of love. My thoughts were interrupted when the sound of the bell rang. "Late on the first day? Great." I hurried to my homeroom, with Mrs. Revez.

Mrs. Revez began to chatter. "Welcome, everyone!" I began to drum my fingers against the side of my journal. It was homeroom, the class you went to gather your thoughts in before moving on to the next period. Most students talked, I didn't really have anyone to talk to but myself. I flipped the cover page of my journal to a white, clean sheet of notebook paper and began to sketch.

One of the roses that lined the bushes of the academy. I sighed as the bell rang. Onto biology. I took notes, many of them actually. My dream was to go to Yale; one of the most achieved colleges. Who knows what would happen.

"The science behind Biology is to create a statistic of..." The teacher went on. My hand hurt from writing when the bell finally rang. Math seemed to fly by, it was probably the most boring class to me. I hated numbers. Then onto Lunch. I scooted my tray across the iron rails to collect food, or what seemed like some sort of soup. I turned my eyes to the cafeteria, many cliques were together. Too bad I couldn't sit with Kanjie, they didn't eat with the Day Class. Of course they didn't. I sat at the nearest table across from some brown headed boy about my age. He looked familiar, I think his name was Valentine. I looked down at the soup. Disgusting. Might as well eat. I took a sip from the spoon.

"Ouch!" I exclaimed. The hot soup had entered my mouth, causing me to jolt my spoon out. Hitting Valentine. My eyes widened and my tounge burned. "Accidents...happen? Heh.." I said awkwardly to Valentine. My face turned red as I waited for his relply.

Valentine Le Blank

Valentine was peacefully asleep. "Ouch!" The hot soup had entered my mouth, causing me to jolt my spoon out. Hitting Valentine. My eyes widened and my tounge burned. "Accidents...happen? Heh.." I said awkwardly to Valentine. My face turned red as I waited for his reply. He let out a slight snore to wake him up. Rubbing his eyes gently and looking to who ever had just woken him up. "Oh lunch time already?" Valentine says as he look to Alice. "Its alright." He says as he rubs where he got hit. "Barely felt a thing." Says with a yawn and a stretch as he stands up. "What's your name? He asks as his eyes halfway close giving him a look of being high.

My face relaxed and I smiled a bit. "I'm Alice- and aren't you Valentine?" I slid a napkin across the table. "You have some soup on your nose." I looked at Valentine. He had a scar on his face, and his brown hair was tossled. He looked a little bit- tired? "Sleeping on the first day?" I asked. "Wish I had the guts to do that." I twirled my napkin around my fingertips, wiping away the soup. The clock's tick was annoying. It seems I was getting distracted today.

Luciano looked at his surroundings with no change in his expression. He had nothing to do, but listen to the boring lectures. Once they were done he sneak away from the night class students and other day class girls. Letting the energy around him slowly release sending a cold air around his body. The energy could be felt if one was close to him. He walked around aimlessly with a small glare across his eyes, but in truth he was in a good mood if you couldn't tell. That's when Luciano took the furthest part of the eating area where he accidentally bumped into Mia. He looked down to her with no change in his face, but his voice soft and calm. "My deepest apology miss." Luciano says as he bows lightly. "I was not watching were I was going."

"I'm Alice- and aren't you Valentine?" I slid a napkin across the table. "You have some soup on your nose." Valentine took the napkin and clean the bridge of his nose. "Yes I am." He says as he looks to Alice a small sleepy smile across his face. "Sleeping on the first day?" I asked. "Wish I had the guts to do that." I twirled my napkin around my fingertips, wiping away the soup. Another small yawn creeps up on Valentine as he waves it off. "Its not hard. You just don't care when the teachers ask where you been or ignore them." Valentine says with a chuckle.

Ai had frowned some when Hunter said he didn't trust Scott, in truth it was hard for her to grasp his feelings towards the night students, but aside from that she never really liked disliking anyone until she had reason to. It wasn't that she was incapable of it, however. It was around this time that the humans started dispersing, heading towards their classes. Many of the females were excited as they left, happy about the new year with their males around, this was a behavior she thought was both silly, and interesting. As she was walking she saw someone, a day class student stray away from the direction of class, this grabbed her attention and caused her to subconsciously walk in that direction - blending in with the crowd for a moment. Or perhaps it was that she was so short and tiny no one could see her amongst the others. She walked passed various trees and plants until she saw a male and a female human conversing with each other. One was lying on the ground peacefully, the with the oddest expression on his face. This intrigued Ai, as she stood behind a distant tree and whipped out a journal from her bag. She opened it up and sat down, flipping through the pages, which all contained her thoughts on humans and actions she found interesting. It also contained beautiful pictures she had drawn of people, she smiled at some of the old pictures and then found an empty page. She dated the page and then started writing on it.

How interesting that on our first day, this human would decide to skip class, he seems to be rather content where he is, and as I sit here I try to figure out the expression on his face. I've never seen it before. This human is...is lovely. The female which resides with him is a beauty in herself, however she has this patch over her eye...What happened to her? The male appears to show fatigue, I wonder if he didn't get any sleep. Ai frowned for a moment. I hope that he is okay, I wonder if they are mates. Ai then started drawing the scene which lay in front of her, sitting down beside the tree, with a gentle smile on her face. It wasn't rare for Ai to wander off, she loved watching the humans, though she always kept a distance when she wrote in the journal.

Luciano stood up he had some experience when interacting with humans and some where positives others not so much. To him he just wanted to learn a little more about them and there different expressions. Want to eat lunch with me...? Or is that against the rules...?" She said softly. He nodded gently remembering to make the cold atmosphere around him to dim down to just above his skin. "I don't think its against the rules." Luciano says calmly as he sat a few feet away from her. "How do you do that?" He asked as he pointed at the small smile on her face. "I can't seem to make that expression."

Valentine had a child like smile on his face. Even though he was sleepy, but he was starting to wake up. Ai then started drawing the scene which lay in front of her, sitting down beside the tree. He notice the person behind the trees who was either writing or sketching in there notebook. Wanting to say something, but wasn't sure how to approach someone who was doing like that. Valentine eyed to Alice and then over to the trees to see if she would get his signals.

I watched Valentine yawn as he glanced in a direction. "Nice meeting you again Valentine, see you soon." I stood up and brushed myself off, gathering the soup to head towards my next period.

Art. The best period I could ask for. This is the place where I didn't care if someone was looking, I just let my emotions flow through the paint or pencil. I twirled my hair around my fingertips, listening to the teacher carefully.

"I'm sure you have made many first impressions today, now transform them onto this piece of paper." She proceeded to hand out white paper. "I wan't to see what you can do!" She set the timer for us to begin, my hand began to circle around the paper.

It was the sketch of the rose I had drawn earlier, but more detailed. I guess it was my first impression. It's beautiful, but its throwns can cause you to bleed. I smiled slightly, placing it in my journal. The other classes were quick, history was OK, but at least in english I could get some of my thoughts out. I began to hum to myself lightly as the bell rang. I rushed my ways through the halls, escaping the main building. Fresh air. It filled my lungs as I paced myself to the Daylight Dorm. There were still, many rooms to choose from. I picked one that was on the end of a hallway, that had a large window looking out at the opposite dorm. I changed into some regular clothes, a comfortable, loose t-shirt with some denim shorts. My sneakers tapped against the sidewalk, and I headed towards the Midnight Dorm. Maybe Kanjie was out, so we could actually talk.

I smirked. "Oh sir Kanjie, I was just here to get an autograph!" I laughed and stepped out of the shadows. I couldn't help the fact that I ran up to him and embraced. For not seeing him all summer, it felt like forever. I pulled back to study him. He still had the same light green eyes and that pale skin. He was still the same Kanjie. Good. I didn't like change. "How's the first day been Kanjie?" I leaned againt a tree. "Mine has been- interesting..." I mumbled. I turned my glance towards him. Standing there, with a stare on his face. "Including flicking my spoon at someone's face."

I laughed at his comment about the spoon and nodded slightly. I had always known the forest was Kanjie's favorite place. I quickly ran up behind and followed him behind the Midnight Dorm, into the forest. Even though I wasn't even supposed to be close to the Midnight Dorm, I felt safe. I felt the breeze blow my blonde hair back, as we entered through the pine trees. Many flowers covered the forest, and the soft smell of nectar filled my nose. "I can see why you like this place so much..." I looked up at the stars and closed my eyes for a second. "It's calm." The soft buzz of crickets filled my ears. I turned my eyes to Kanjie. "What's this thing you want to show me?" I said, raising my eyebrows.

"Don't peak." Kanjie's soft voice spoke. My eyes were covered by his hands. I smiled. I opened my eyes to darkness. I pondered about what he could be showing me in my thoughts. A rare plant? No... The lake? I laughed, "Kanjie what are you-" His hands lifted gently, and my eyes began to open. The scent of roses was strong, different colors of red and white, even yellow. A drooped willow tree's leaves hung above a small pond. I dropped my fingertips down slowly, feeling the breeze. I was speechless. "Wow. Just like a painting." I took my shoes off and threw them to the side. I danced around the rose bushes while laughing. "Kanjie, you really have a sight for beauty." I glanced around the setting, stopping my twirls. I turned my eyes towards Kanjie, staring at me. "Thank you Kanjie. For taking me here." I looked towards the pond while the stars shown down onto the dew of the roses. "It's calm." I fell backwards, landing on my back to take a deep breathe and look up at the night sky. My toes squirmed through the grass, feeling the soft prickles. I closed my eyes, still smiling. "Kanjie don't just stand there! Join me!" I scooted to the side of the pond, making a needed space for Kanjie. He sat down, looking around as I was. "I like the white ones the best." I pointed to a group of white roses. "They're pure, and full of life. Though they're small, the roses still manage to live on." I turned towards Kanjie, my hair blowing back. "What's your favorite color of a rose?"

I looked at Kanjie. Through his beautiful green eyes, I saw pain and suffering. Like he was burning inside. My eyes pointed down to the rose, white tips with red as a base color. I took the rose carefully, admiring it. "You're right. It does remind me of snow." Although it was summer, it would soon come to fall and then onto winter. My favorite season, just because of the snow. Or maybe even the school holidays. "Thank you Kanjie, I will forever treasure it." I smiled slightly, my gaze still fixed on the rose. I looked up to Kanjie as the bell suddenly rang in the distance. I covered my mouth. "Curfew! I- I gotta' go!" I stood quickly, and ran around the pond but stopped in my tracks. "I wish the best for you, Kanjie. Have a nice evening, thank you again." I turned around, running off towards my dorm. I took a smell of the rose, soft and sweet. "Help Kanjie to be happy..."

"The hot springs sound fun.." She mumbled. She had pretty much finished her lunch by now and put her items back into her lunch bag. Mia looked around for a clock then realized that she had a phone. Completely forgetting Luciano was there, she took out her phone and checked her messages.
From: Penny<3
"You better get to the dorms! Hurry!"

Mia jumped onto her feet and looked down at Luciano. "I need to go but this was wonderful.. Thank you" She said calmly as she turned towards her dorm and began to lightly jog. Forgetting she was wearing his coat she ran back all the way to her dorm. She saw someone else running and they both slowed down coming to the doors. "Just in time huh?" Mia laughed a bit, looking at the blonde.
