Cylene Sare's Story

Kane walked causally down the street, tossing his new gold pocket watch up into the air and catching it as he walked. Today was off to a good start for the young goblin. He wasn't even sure why the other goblin had given him a pocket watch- he usually didn't deal in the pawn business, but that was alright. It was shiny and valuable and now it was all his.

The blonde looked up to see a party at the end of the street, made up of Captain Lucas and his two worshipers- er, followers. Kane laughed a bit, though it soon caused him to start coughing. Maybe he should get that checked out. He continued walking, tucking his precious watch away into one of his many pockets. He then entered the small shop of one of the local witches. It was always nice to have some real doctors in this town.

"Buenos dias Matilda," he cackled as he let the door slam behind him. "You don't happen to have any poison or cold medicine do ya?" He grinned and hoped that he had some sort of payment in one of his pockets. "And what's the captain and his gang doin' outside? Makin' a riot? I'll join!" He laughed again before it ended in another short coughing fit.

Cylene looked out her window, wishing it wasn't as bright outside. She might need her umbrella today which could be a nuisance to carry around with her. Sighing, the young vampire stood and combed through her long brown hair, before tying it up in a low bun. She chose to keep the same dress as yesterday on, a light tan one with a colorful hem before leaving her house quietly. She did not wish to attend her parents' usual business affairs.

The pale young woman walked quietly through her family's orchard, before arriving at the gate to their property which had already been left open by one of her siblings. She smiled a bit and walked into town, sticking to the shadows and attempting to shade herself with her fan when she wasn't. As she rounded a corner she saw one of the goblins walking happily into Matilda's shop. She chuckled a bit, knowing that any situation with a goblin could end in a very interesting way. Cylene continued walking, seeing Sumi, Lucas, and James standing by the entrance to the town. Curious. However, James wasn't around for long which didn't surprise her given that he and Sumi would probably try and kill each other if Lucas wasn't there.

She walked over to them, standing under a tree and near a shop to keep herself out of the sunlight. "Lovely day is it not?" she asked the remaining two. "Well, it's a bit bright for me but I'm sure it would feel lovely on a non-vampire's skin." She smiled kindly at them.

Sumi looked up to Lucas once James had gone, wanting to say something, but... what? She didn't know what she could say. It was hers and James' fault. (Mainly James' in her opinon) They just couldn't seem to get past the bickering. She felt bad for it... but it was in her nature. She couldn't help that she was now very mean to and aware of all succubi, not after what happened before... She looked down to her hands in her lap, before hearing a soft voice speak up. She looked round towards its general direction and blinked a couple of times, returning the warm smile with another one. "Yes, I believe the weather is lovely." She said calmly, closing her eyes a little and then opening them again to look at Cylene.

One of the few vampires that she believed was actually very kind and considerate of others. There were many vampires that had a one set mind on blood. Like teenage boys have a mindset on boobs. She tilted her head on Cylene and then looked up to the sky. "I guess it's not beautiful for all..." She smiled sympathetically towards Cylene and then turned to Lucas. She wondered if he was nervous about seeing his cousins. Sure, he never liked to show those sides of him, but she knew that he got like it from time to time. She'd seen it happen... She leaned over and rubbed his back a little. "Are you okay Lucas?" She asked quietly.

Lucas sighed as Sumi rubbed his shoulders. "Yes I'm fine." he said then listened to the sound of the a car driving in. He stood up and grabbed his rifle and slung it over his shoulder. He saw Alice and stood infront of her. "Something wrong?" he asked questioned but on the inside he was freaking out. He looked over at Cylene but mouthed the words. "Make sure no one touches them." then turned back. "So how was your trip over?" he asked a smirk on his face and waved slightly to Raymond. "Hey Ray" he said lightly. He saw the lynx and growled. He knew she was somewhat harmless but she lived alone and he knew she could get desperate at times. He wanted to keep an eye on everyone since human was such a delicacy to the monsters.

Ray got out of the car with a sigh. He had to miss a tournament to come here with his sister. At least she was grateful that he went with her to this town. He wondered if there was a gym in town or if Lucas had some weights of his own. There Lucas was waiting for them with two cute girls with him. He wondered who they were but assured himself that three months would be plenty of time to get to know everyone in the the town. "Hey Lucas" He said getting his luggage out of the trunk. "Who are your friends?" He asked.

The goblin downed the Hearthfire without a problem. It wasn't the tastiest thing he'd ever had, but Kane just wanted to feel better. He listened as she spoke, laughing a bit afterwards. "Ain't he supposed to be shooting people well, you know what I mean, not apples?" After she was done chanting and poking him, he gingerly rubbed at his forehead. He didn't like people touching him or anything he owned. "What sorta payment do you want? I have..." he looked through two of his pockets and came up with six dollars and seventy cents. He set it on the counter confidently. "Is that good?" He honestly hoped so because he knew his brother wouldn't give him anything.

Cylene smiled kindly in return to Sumi before being caught off guard by Lucas's silent words. She wasn't sure who these people were, but if they liked Lucas then they couldn't be bad. Needless to say, she would listen to him and protect them from any harm the other townspeople held. She nodded even though he had already turned back to the newcomers. The older one, the male, looked very muscular and daunting. However, she did not understand what he was wearing. It was... disturbing. Why wasn't he dressed more formally? It nearly drove her mad.

She pulled out her fan and began fanning herself, as was a habit of hers in order to keep her both cool and collected. The brunette then began to examine the younger sibling, a bouncy little girl. She seemed to be a bit of an opposite to her brother. She was energetic and seemed a bit more thrilled than the other. Both greeted Lucas before starting to retrieve their luggage.

As much as she wanted to help, she was anxious about going into the sun and the possibility of how heavy one of their bags could be. She could easily lift three of them, but the sun would affect her too much. Cylene sighed and gave a small wave to the two as ray asked who they were. She would let Sumi introduce herself first since she was Lucas's assistant.

Lucas smiled as Ray got out. "Those are Sumi and Ms. Sare. " he smiled and nodded. "If you two have everything we'll start back towards the house, we got a bit of walking to do. He felt instantly better when they got to the town and most of his fear was currently gone and replaced with the urge to get them inside.

He knew that if they didn't get inside soon enough they would pick up on their scent. He knew that some would actually start a riot and the last time that happened they were digging for weeks before they got them all in the ground.

Alice blinks and grins. "it was.. Good. But im glad im here!" she replied, her eyes twinkling with glee. But as soon as ray asked who those ladies were, she quickly calmed down. She too was curious. "Those are Sumi and Ms.Sare." Alice smiled charmingnly and gave a wave towards the two. "its a pleasure to meet both~!" she greeted and began to take in their appearance. The one with the fan seemed so lady-like and classy, which made her admire her even more. Sumi was different though, she seemed to wear all black and her white hair comtrast with the outfit nicely. It gave off a cool air. 'she seems cold... But i doubt it.' Alice thought with a smile before following lucus and tugging at rays sleeve to follow. But she remebered to wave out to the car, as it drove away. "come on ray~" She looked past her brother and waved to those girls, wondering if they were to follow.

Sumi smiled to the cousins as they exit the car and when Lucas said her name, she gently and politely bowed her head. "If you two have everything we'll start back towards the house, we got a bit of walking to do." Wow, Lucas is wasting no time today... She thought carefully to herself, smiling gently and then looking back to Cylene with a small smile. "I wish you a pleasant and safe day Cylene." She said, nodding her head to her before walking towards Lucas and the cousins. When Alice had waved to her and Cylene, she smiled a little. Well, she certainly looked chipper. Kinda sweet too. She wasn't sure how to act around human city folk. They seemed a little different to her... In this town, people act laidback but are really on edge at every turn. Trying to make sure they were safe... She knew she'd have to help watch out for the cousins. Especially if one of them was cocky or flirty. She could picture them going straight up to an incubus without a single thought in the world. Sumi looked to the boy. She imagined he was seen as handsome. He had one of those smiles that all the girls got giddy from. She continued to smile at the two and then caught up with them, offering out her hands. "Would you like me to carry your bags for you? They look heavy." She said kindly and softly, giving them a warm smile.

Cylene smiled politely at Alice and curtseyed to her before Lucas instructed them to hurry up. She could see why he would want to get them to safety, but she knew that humans were determined creatures. They would break out of his cage sooner or later. She turned and looked to the woods, wondering where James was. He was still an incubus, but he was more trustworthy then the other sirens in town.

She frowned as she thought of those hideously beautiful creatures. She was sure they could smell Ray by now and were conjuring up ways to devour his soul. It really was a positive thought, wasn't it? Cylene stayed where she was as the cousins got their luggage. "Have a nice day as well, Sumi. You too Lucas and Ray. I don't believe I caught your name though," she addressed Alice.

Kane suddenly burst out screaming, feeling like his body was on fire. He began flailing around before falling on the floor. The pain then ceased as quickly as it had come and he hopped back up, gripping his chest. "Are you trying to kill me?!" he yelped, before turning and seeing the two kids Matilda was talking about. His brow furrowed, wondering why they were here. "Huh, maybe it was an option other than the death penalty." He honestly didn't know much about politics or courtrooms, but he figured only somebody who was mad would send a regular kid here.

"Wanna make a bet on how long they last?" he asked her. It was purely for entertainment and the chance to gain something, not because he wanted them to die or be ravenously eaten.

Matilda laughed at his reaction to the Hearthfire. "I did warn you and I would never kill you, you're my favourite goblin." She reached over the counter and tickled under his chin in a mocking way. "They still have the death penalty?" Her voice was full of shock. She looked at him with a face full of confusion. "Why would you challenge someone how could see the future, is clairvoyant and has control over Nature?" She tilted her head. "Did you forget that all witches have these abilities, well apart from Nature control, only Harvest and Elemental and Nature witches can. Those Nature witches are such hippies." She informed him and then moaned the last part.

"Have a nice day as well, Sumi. You too Lucas and Ray. I don't believe I caught your name though," Alice blinks and smiles sheepishly. "Oh Im Alice, and I hope you have a nice day as well Ms. Sae." She added on bashfully, but noticed her brother walking off. "Well I got to catch up, I guess Ill talk to you later!" She grins and started to run toward her brother. When she did catch up, she shuddered. Something was defiantly not right... She stepped closer to Ray and looked around. "...hm.." Alice always did have a "sixth" sense, but she didnt really regard her sense as one. "Um Ill take my bag Ray." She said nervously, gripping onto the handle. " and sorry, I kinda forgot about it..hehe" She gave off a sheepish expression, before taking the bag from his grip. "Besides I need to unpack my stuff myself!" She chirped, stepping carefully, her arms outstretch and struggling to keep the bag off the ground. 'If only my legs were my arms..' Alice wished, before quickening the pace.

June crawled on top of the roof and laid down at the edge. Carefully, she lowered her head to peek through the window. No one. Pulling her body back up, she continued to crawl around with ease. "Humans..." She mumbled and she sighs. "....." Finding a more suitable place to observe, she sat down and hid against an elevated part of the rooftop. With her animalistic eyes, she stared at the humans and began to observe. The Female was careless, but sweet. Her hair was neatly brushed, meaning she was happy to arrive to this town. Anxious maybe. Her clothing were loose and child like, probably determining her innocence. Though The male seemed to be the bi-polor opposite, he was tall and intimidating in human standards. His hair was the same color as the girl obviously, meaning they're siblings. He appears to be bored and reluctant to be here, and from the sight of his body, he is strong and is able to put up quiet a fight. 'That is the one to look out for...' June noted cautiously, and started to crawl against the roof top again. 'Troublesome...'

Cylene was about to leave the guests, Sumi, and Lucas when Lucas suddenly took off. She could sense Sumi's agitation at being left alone with two strangers. Being the nice and caring vampire that she was, she decided to tag along with the group to help the shape shifter out a bit. She'd interacted with humans before, albeit not with good results.

She stepped out from under the shade, wincing a bit at the stinging sensation the light caused to her delicate skin. She noticed Alice struggling a bit and walked over to her as the little group of misfits continued down the road to where Lucas resided. "Do you need any help with your bags Alice?" she offered, hoping the sun wouldn't weaken her too much. She glanced at Sumi and smiled kindly, letting her know that she'd help her through this until her boss returned.

Lucas rolled his eyes as James' question. "I think I'll sleep on it." he said his voice much more calm than usual. He then slung the rifle back over his shoulder and started off. "Come on, oh an make sure you've eaten enough I don't want you eating her soul. " he said as he turned his head slightly to reveal a cocky smirk on his face as he made his way away from the scene. After a few minutes he finally saw Sumi and his cousins, along with Cylene. He paid no mind to the vampiress and went up to the girl and asked calmly. "Anything happen?"

He didn't epect anything but he knew if there was he could probably just shoot before the creature would even know it. Infact he aoot down most anything given his current adrenaline levels and him protecting his cousins. He knew it wasn't smart to have them here but there wasn't much now so the best bet would be to have someone with them and NOT HAVE THEM SCREW AROUND.

Matilda rolled her eyes. "That's an unfair advantage, Kane." She told him, waging her finger in his face. "But if you want to know," She looked around and motioned for him to come closer.

She noticed Lucas rejoin the group, "That's what he's on edge about." She pulled her head back, slide over the counter and stared out the window. "He was worried about... siblings?" She shook her head. "No, they don't look enough like him." She rubbed her chin. "Friends, no too young." She noticed Sumi and Cylene. "Oh hey, look it's Cylene." She pointed to her. "Cylene's lovely, wonder why she's out this early." She rubbed her chin again. "What was I talking about again?" She looked over to Kane, a look of confusion on her face.

Alice watched Ray and Sumi with a raised eyebrow, and tilted her head a bit. 'Strange..' She giggled a bit anyways, Sumi's reaction was strange but funny in her eyes, but what got her laughing was Sumi's comment to her brother. "I'm sure that a handsome man like yourself will not be able to get bored in a place like this." A laugh spilled from her lips, but she bit them close, turning her attention from her Ray. No way could she admit that her brother was handsome, and because she was his little sister, she would laugh at those kind of compliments. Surely to make fun of him. "pft... handsome.." She mutters with a roll of her eyes, amused by Sumi's choice of words, which could have been taken too seriously and the wrong way. But her brother wasent like that, was he? Paying more attention to her heavy loaded bag, she started to feel the weight once again.
"ugh..." She mumbles, struggling to lift the heavy thing, her steps awkward and unprecise. "Do you need any help with your bags Alice?" Alice blinks and turns, noticing Cylene. A little smile graced her lips, and she shook her head. "No, no its okay.." She huffed, lifting the bag even more. "I can...do it!" Determined, she continued to walk, and continued to talk. "Besides i need....some strength in my arms..so this is...perfect training!" She breathed out harshly. "I lack upper body strength..so yeah.." Alice fixed her attention towards Cylene's umbrella. " and you seem kinda tired...are you alright..?" Alice asked, finally noticing some sort of strain in Cylene's body. Maybe it was just her imagination. " but thanks for asking though." She smiles gratefully at her, and as she did, she began to scan her appearance. "You're really pretty you know that Ms.Sae?" Alice bluntly asked, as she admired her beauty, and with realization she stopped. "Ah Im running my mouth again... sorry haha.."

James came out of the thicket behind Lucas and finally saw these cousins. Sadly, they were quite good looking. I wish you both luck, lots and lots of it. But he knew this was not going to be an easy summer. Watching their own asses was trouble enough, now they had two basically defenseless humans hanging around a town full of soul-sucking, flesh-rending monsters! Well, he was more worried about Lucas at the time, since they were his cousins. If anything happened to them... James shivered at the thought, and decided to keep a padlock on the weapon's shed for that summer.

To make matters worse, James might have to do more mediating. To avoid unnecessary conflict, James and Sumi often went to try and make deals with their respective races. James was not sure how Sumi felt about that, but James hated to have to talk with his kind. All of them were arrogant leeches who look at people like smoothies. After giving a empathetic stare at the two, he walked back over to Sumi and asked, "Calmed down yet?"

Sumi gave a grateful smile to Cylene as she approached the freaky group walking along and then turned forwards again, heading towards the house. She had heard The younger one, Alice, she had laughed at the comment about Raymond being handsome. She didn't quite understand. Did humans consider handsome as something else? Who knows, maybe the most horrible of beasts would be drop dead sexy to them.

"Anything happen?" Sumi jumped at Lucas' sudden appearance and then let out a gentle sigh, shaking her head. "No, no it didn't. Next time though, don't suddenly leave me on my own with the cousins." She let out a small quiet sigh and then turned to James when he had followed along behind. For once, she kinda appreciated him being there. Sure, he was as annoying as the kind he had come from. But at least now, she wasn't the only one trying to protect the trio of humans. Though Lucas didn't need protecting as such. Just help. "Sort of, James..." She said quietly, looking to the floor and then tucking her long hair behind her ear, closing her eyes a moment and then opening them again. "Well, calm enough not to rip your head off at any second anyway." She said, smirking a little as she looked straight ahead.

Kane was amused by Matilda's thoughts on the newcomers. So they were favored by Lucas and were either relatives, very close friends, or both. Interesting. She suddenly started talking about Cylene. "Huh?" he muttered, wondering why she had switched subjects so quickly. "Well, vampires don't sleep do they? They just kinda chill out and take advantage of the darkness and make people sleep walk and..." he trailed off and looked ba k at the witch, who had asked what they'd been talking about. "Uh, I think it was something about sushi." he replied, wishing he had some right now. He loved gourmet food.

Cylene smiled a bit as Alice refused help, arguing that she needed the exercise. She chuckled a bit. The brunette turned and looked at the young girl then, a bit distressed. Given that they were human and not to be told what exactly their new neighbors were, she was a bit at a loss of what to say. "I've been awake for a bit. My family owns an orchard and I help out sometimes." She smiled sincerely, noticing that Sumi seemed confused again. Cylene had missed her previous comment to Ray as she'd been paying attention to Alice.

She smiled back as her as Alice commented on how pretty she was. Cylene herself thought that she was quite ordinary compared to others in the town, but it was always nice to hear a compliment from a stranger. "Why thank you and might I say the same for you and your brother."

She turned to see Lucas and James had joined them. She waved a bit, as James was not her favourite type of species. But he seemed honest and loyal enough which was why she didn't bother to try and pick a fight with him as she normally would with succubi.

"Do you have a boyfriend, Alice?" she asked, partially out of curiosity and partially for her own benefit of knowing how to protect her. "And what about you Raymond? Is there anyone from your town whom you fancy?"

Lucas rolled his eyes as James and Sumi started to do some light bickering. "Raymond, Alice, this is James. " he saw Cylene and smiled. "I'm guessing you're gonna tag along for a bit eh Cylene?" he said, his southern purposely showing out a bit. He kept himself on edge as he heard a twig snap and he turned around to see nothing but a rabbit.

"I'm getting too stressed." he said under his breath then continued trying to calm his nerves without shooting something. He needed to go hunting without the pressure of the prey possibly being able to kill you. The last time he actually killed a deer was about a year ago which was a shame since venison is really good.

He took a breath and saw his house right over the hill. "There she is." he said happily pointing at the two story house. It could comfortably fit twenty people and seven if each needed their own room. It was a simple style, white with a few windows and a little deck on the front porch. It had been and was his home but it did hold the secret of the weapon's locker and Lucas' lab in the basement which he made sure no one but him, Sumi, or James entered. "Let's hurry and get ya inside." he said cheerily walking a bit faster.
