Full Name: Karol Angelo
Nicknames: Karol is fine as well as anything that is not insulting.
Age: 25
Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
Ethnicity White; North American; descended from a French/Italian family.
Sexuality: Straight
Coven: None, but when I attended school, I was in Merlin.
Specialty: Healing and Protection
Abilities: I am most gifted at healing and benevolent magic. My powers are such that I can bring a man from the brink of death into full health and vitality. My shields and barriers can withstand even the nastiest of hexes. I am intimately familiar with nullifying and disabling harmful Magyks and malevolent Magick Users. Perhaps my most feared ability is the ability to disconnect a victim from his own Magyk, rendering him normal. I have only done so once. Elementally, I am adequate with fire.
Familiar Agape, a butterfly, is my familiar and my dearest friend. Although small and frail compared to others' familiars, Agape is resilient, loyal, and full of compassion and wisdom. He often follows certain students or people around either because they may be troublemakers or he judges people to be of need of help and protection.
Personality: I am often kind and good-humored with a fondness for his students and a certain indulgence for their youth and inexperience both with life and Magick. I am, however, strict when it comes to learning the material he teaches and has no tolerance for the abuse of the gifts that his students are given. Thus, because of past experience with them and their well-deserved reputation, I keep a close eye on Circe Coven and have a dislike for casual use of Black Magick which I would rather seen untaught at Fae's Academy. Nonetheless, I treat even those with the polar opposite of his personality kindly and without judgment.
I am a religious Christian, non-denominational, and regard Magick as a gift from God and use it with care with the only goal to teach or help others (though, I might use a spell to summon a particular book from the library or bottle of brandy on a shelf I just cannot reach). I have an old-fashioned form of Southern chivalry instilled to him from birth mixed with a relaxed tolerance picked up from my short life. I can often be found encouraging students to integrate themselves with worthy causes post-graduation and leading a small prayer group for students on Sundays.
Likes: Kwan, Latin, Greek, instrumental music, good liquor, good jokes, books, Benevolent Magicks, religion, manners, relaxed conversations with his fellow students and teachers, sugar.
Dislikes: ...Kwan, Cruelty, Abuse of Magicks, bullying, intolerance, religious fundamentalism, disdain for those who do not practice Magick.
History: Ilived a comfortable early life in a middle-class family in Georgia. I was close to both his parents as well as his brothers and sisters. I was a kind-hearted child that went to church every Sunday and loved to read, particularly fantasy and religious texts. I had always been fascinated with the stories of King Arthur and Camelot, particularly Merlin, though my parents slightly disapproved. I was close with Pastor Peter, the minister at our church. He was a kindly old man with a disarray of white hair and bright blue eyes that sparkled as though he knew something you didn't, but it wasn't smug, more like that of a mischievous joke. It was he that discovered my first spell, a simple healing spell of some scrapes from when I was playing outside. Rather than spout hellfire or fear, however, Pastor Peter recognized my talents and told him what it was: Magick. He revealed himself as a wizard and told me about the magical world, capturing my imagination and reassuring my fears with "No, this comes not from Satan. Far from it, my boy."
Nonetheless, when I turned 16 and revealed to his parents my powers, they were frightened and angry with him, even as I revealed Pastor Peter's involvement. We fought and I did not speak to them for my entire first year at Fae's Academy. Nonetheless, Pastor Peter practiced patience and his own magick of kindness and love and eventually, I was reconciled with his family. At Fae's Academy, I became one of the more prominent members of the Merlin Coven and showed myself a prodigy within his specialization of Magick. There were many bitter incidents with Circe's Coven, however, in part because of my strong religious beliefs and in part with my strong support of the Merlin Coven's standards and beliefs. I eventually graduated and returned just three years ago to fill the post of the Healing and Protection Magick Teacher.
