Description

Name- Stephanie Stansbridge

Age- 16

Gender- Female

Stephanie is a pretty slender girl, standing at about 5'4 in height. She is fair skinned and has gentle looking facial features, complimented by her deep brown eyes, that seem to sparkle in the moon or sun light. Stephanie has a lovely smile when she chooses to use it. She has long, light red hair that almost looks pink, and goes beautifully with almost anything that she wears, including the blue bow that she wears almost everyday. She generally dresses casually at the weekends but during the week mainly sticks to her school uniform, which she customises by wearing only her white shirt, and her long black skirt. For the trip however, she decided to dress casually, in a loose white top, and leggings. She has a very prety face, and her body only compliments it, though she never takes much notice when she's told she's pretty.

Personality

Although Stephanie comes from an upper class background she doesn't let this change her attitude in any way. She is a person who likes to keep things to herself and doesn't often open up to people as much as she'd like to because she worries and becomes paranoid about what she is saying. Strangely she does not enjoy the lifestlye to which she is accustomed, she would much rather be like everyone else and she often daydreams about a different lifestyle. One without so many snobs. Stephanie is mostly a kind person when she actually talks to people however, when she is annoyed she can snap pretty badly making her an easy person to fall out with. She is not a disagreeable person but she will not just sit there and watch something bad happen, she will stand up for herself and others. Although she acts like just a normal girl, Stephanie has many hidden feelings and truths.

Stephanie sighed as she slowly slipped back into consciousness sometime in the early morning. She could feel a scorching warmth on her back and the cool sensation of water rushing over her feet. She could feel her face pressed into something soft yet gritty and could taste salt in her mouth making her throat unbearably dry. Was she on a beach? This wasn't right. Just what exactly had happened to her she wondered, the last thing she could remember was being sat on the plane and being told to put her seatbelt on, then she had found she needed the bathroom and had gotten up out of her seat despite all the heavy turbulence. She wasn't worried plane crashes only happened on t.v, she was sure it was safe to get up. Clearly she had thought wrong. The very last thing she could remember was the violent shaking of the cabin throwing her around.

What had happened after that though? How had she ended up here? Surely she shouldn't have survived? How long had she been here? Stephanie's mind was full of questions but there were more pressing matters. Somehow she needed to find help. Still feeling bewildered she tried to move but winced, her whole body ached and she was as stiff as a board. She tried to call out but her voice was much too hoarse from the salt water and hurt even to whisper. For the first time Stephanie realized how weak she was, she could barely move but she needed to, so pushing out the last of her strength she lifted herself up onto her knees. She rubbed her temples, her head hurt so much. She opened her eyes but immediately shielded them again, the sun was so bright. Gingerly she tried to open her eyes again, she looked around... an empty beach. She needed to find someone. It was her only chance, she couldn't survive alone.

Stephanie struggled from her knees up to her feet and looked around the beach, taking in some breaths and letting out a shakey noise. "Where.. Where is this place?" she thought to herself, looking up and down the beach. She noticed some smoke coming from down, probably part of the plane, but also probably the most dangerous part. Stephanie thought for a moment, Perhaps everyone had already moved north, in one big group and had already set up a place to sleep and live while they were stuck here. That was one thought. Unfortunately, she was feeling rather daunted by the thought that maybe she was the only one left, or maybe she was dead. In any case, she knew that she should still look, who knew, maybe she was right and everyone was fine.

Stephanie began to limp northward, keeping her eyes forward on the beach ahead, that seemed to go on forever. Soon, she stepped in something damp, unsure of what it was. She realised that she was nowhere near the sea, at least not close enough to where the sand was dampened by the tide. She looked down at her feet and noticed she was standing in blood red sand, making her face instantly drop. When she noticed she was standing in blood she hopped back slightly with a yelp. Stephanie hated blood, she didn't mind seeing it, but contact or a close view was a big no no unless it was her own. She looked at the blood and noticed a trail leading towards a more central spot of the island.

Suddenly, Stephanie noticed a boy, holding a girl in his arms. She quietly moved behind a tree and watched what they were doing. The girl seemed to have something wrong with her eyes, and the boy was helping. Not wanting to get in the way, Stephanie stayed hidden, and watched the two people before her, wondering what they would do.

Stephanie observed the pair with great curiosity. She wasn't the only survivor and for that she was thankful, she knew next to nothing about survival skills, only the basics of food, water and shelter. Stephanie felt a sudden surge of bitterness, maybe if she hadn't had been so privileged before she could have learnt some of this stuff but now it was too late to regret taking things for granted. She had currently lost everything dear to her and it was unlikely she was going to get it back. It just proved that money was worthless in some respects, it wasn't going to help her now. Stephanie tried to listen in on their conversation but she couldn't make out much, still it was pretty obvious that they were in distress.

Stephanie watched as the boy began to take medical equipment out of what looked like a first aid kit. She watched him withdraw liquid into a syringe and flick the needle. Suddenly it came to Stephanie, the boy was going to perform some sort of surgery on the girl. Was he crazy? The boy looked around her age, he couldn't have much medical knowledge, he'd probably end up doing more damage rather than actually helping the girl. Stephanie knew she should probably approach them and tell the boy what he was doing was dangerous but she found herself just numb. All of this was so surreal to her, she wasn't sure it could really be happening, this alone stopped her from rushing out and stopping him. The boy lifted the girls arm onto his knee and Stephanie watched in horror as he slowly pushed the contents of the syringe into the girls body. She just had to hope he had done the right thing.

The boy seemed to be calming himself before he did anything else. She wondered again whether he had any idea of what serious risks he was taking. She watched as more and more equipment began to emerge from the box and he began to work. Stephanie couldn't see exactly what he was doing but she saw the scalpel and the tongs. Realisation hit her. Shit... he was going to cut out part of her eye. Stephanie couldn't watch anymore, she felt the bile rise in her throat as she mentally pictured what was about to come. She turned away and fell to her knees, finally succumbing to tears.

Theo watched as she fell and moved to catch her, to no avail. He sighed as he held out her hand and her carefully helped her up. "A few sunburns, is a waste of medical equipment.. we need this stuff for more important things.. there has to be more people out there who need help.." Theo looked up and the sun and noticed that Violets shoulders were going red. He took the hoodie from around his waist, wincing slightly at his wound, and placed it over her exposed shoulders. "I see what I can do about getting you something to walk with.." he slowly packed the things he'd used back into the bag and strapped it on to his body.

"Stay here and don't move.. I'll only be a few minutes ok?" With that Theo turned and headed towards some trees, hoping to find a broken branch. It was only then that he heard crying, a girls crying. Theo looked around and followed the source, until finally he found a girl, kneeling and facing the other way from him. "Hey.. You ok Miss?" the girl didn't look hurt, but she had obviously been in the crash. Theo noticed a sterdy branch beside her and knelt down to pick it up, "Perfect.." He noticed the girl look at him, taking note of her facial expression. "You should come with me.. We need to find some shelter and supplies ok?"

Theo examined the girl and silently waited for whatever response she would give.

Stephanie felt sick to her stomach as the tears streamed down her face onto the sand. Her parents had never let her watch horror movies, they hadn't celebrated halloween and most fiction novels had been banned. They hadn't wanted to expose her to 'nonsense' but the horror Stephanie now felt was real and she wasn't ready for it. It overwhelmed her and she couldn't help wishing that she had somehow been more prepared for this. Still she was grateful, those could have easily been her eyes and come to think of it despite some bruises and a few cuts Stephanie hadn't exerienced much injury, she had been extremely lucky. Stephanie allowed the hysterics to overcome her, she had always been told it was good to cry.

"Hey.. You ok Miss?" a kind voice suddenly interrupted her thoughts. Stephanie whipped her head around and there before her was the boy. The boy from the beach. The boy who had performed surgery on the girl. The boy who had now left the girl alone and blind. The boy who had caused these hysterics in the first place. Stephanie stared at him as he knelt down beside her to pick up a large branch. "Perfect.." he exclaimed and Stephanie wondered why he would want such a stick to carry around, surely there were much more important things to find? "You should come with me.. We need to find some shelter and supplies ok?", he was offering her the help she needed. She couldn't refuse, there was no way she could survive on her own. She had to trust this stranger. There was no other way.

Stephanie looked the boy full in the face for the first time and was startled to see that his eyes were red. That was strange and not in a nice way, it frightened her. "I'll come with you... but please tell me, why are your eyes red?" she said slowly, her voice shaking a little.

Theo nodded as she agreed to follow, and he turned and started back, before he heard the rest of her sentence. "But please tell me, why are your eyes red?" she spoke in a worried voice, and he turned to her slowly. As a child, Theo's mother had always told him his eyes were a gift, something he and only he had, and that it made him special, and maybe even magic. His science teacher however, was the one that took most interest in him, which is probably why he become so good at it. "It's because I'm magic" Theo smiled softly at her before turning and walking back towards where he'd left Violet.

Theo noticed the girl catch up to him, and decided to find out more about her, "I'm Theo.. you got a name Miss?" Starting to feel the heat of the sun on his face, he lowered his head away from the sun, letting his light purple hair take the heat for a little while. Theo awaited her answer, and nodded when he got it. When they got back, he noticed the body of Dr. Watson first, but no Violet. "Oh Christ.. where'd she go?! I told her to stay here.." Theo looked down at the ground and noticed some footprints walking towards a tree stump, then off into the Jungle. "Ok.. We need to go after her.. she won't last long without her sight.."

As they set off, Theo shouted out into the woods, clearly, and hoping her heightened hearing would pick him up. "VIOLETT!!"

Stephanie stood up and listened to his reply. "It's because I'm magic" the boy smiled at her before turning away. A long time ago Stephanie had believed in magic fairies and enchanted castles, all the usual little girl stuff. Her parents had put a stop to it as soon as she'd started school, they'd told her it was all made-up for little children and that she was 'a big girl now' and since that moment Stephanie had refused to believe anything but fact. There was no way the boy could be magic, such things were impossible but Stephanie decided not to press the issue. The boy was offering help, that was all that mattered, that was why she was following him.

"I'm Theo.. you got a name Miss?" he asked lowering his head, "Stephanie Stansbridge" she replied, to which Theo nodded. Stephanie walked behind him in silence, it was obvious he did not wish to engage in conversation. As they approached the spot on the beach where the girl had been, Theo suddenly changed. "Oh Christ.. where'd she go?! I told her to stay here.." he moaned looking at a set of footprints in the sand. The girl's footprints. "Ok.. We need to go after her.. she won't last long without her sight.." Stephanie nodded. She was amazed that a girl with such a serious injury had managed to wander off so quickly, she couldn't imagine why the girl would have even wanted to move, the pain must be unbearable. Stephanie followed Theo as he shouted the girls name into the woods. The girls name was Violet. Stephanie joined in with the calling, Theo was right they needed to find her and fast.

Theo looked up at the sky which was now begining to turn a dark blue, welcoming night to this part of the world. He took on a concerned look and continued to wade along the Jungle like terrain. After a little while, he noticed a tree branch with some blood on it, and from there, noticed a trail of blood heading into a dark and threatning cave. "You think she's in there..?" Theo turned his head to look at Stephanie, a seriously look still posted on his face. He acknowlaged her response, "Well.. I think we should check it out.."

Walking cautiously to the entrance of the cave, Theo fished in his pocket for the Zippo, and lit it up, letting it instantly luminate part of the cave. As they started to walk a little further, the lighter died for a moment, and they stood in total blackness. "Ugh, Come on you piece of shit.." Theo attempted to light the Zippo a few more times, the flint letting off a few sparks now and then. Finally, the lighter lit up, and looking up, Theo saw what seemed to be movement of the caves ceiling itself.

"BATS!" Theo let out a shout that echo'd through the cave as the bats suddenly burst into life, swooping down and swarming around himself and Stephanie. He swatted at them with his arms, keeping them away from the two and they eventually fled the cave and out into the night sky. "Damn it.. Are you ok Miss Stephanie?" Theo was breathing a little faster, fatigue from the day begining to catch up to him. He turned and walked further into the cave, lighter in hand, when suddenly he noticed water below him. "Fresh water..?" he then looked up when he heard movement, "Hey.. Violet is that you?" Theo moved a little closer to the noise, and saw it was Violet.

She heard Theo and another girl walk in. She heard the click of the lighter, the sound of their footfalls, and swarm of the bats, but she most importantly heard his voice. Theo had returned with someone else. Violet turned around at the sound of his voice, and fell headfirst into the water, blood seeping into it, turning the water a faint tinge of red. She got up dizzily, and tried to get up, her left leg jutting out awkwardly, her thin hip swaying as she couldn't stand and fell back over on her side.

Then she lifted her head over the water, breathing hard, trying to ignore her helplessness, trying to focus on the feeling of relief, now that her saviour, and another girl were here.

"Thank you.. f-for coming back." Violet drawled, her voice sounding not too different from someone who was drunk. She laughed shamefully as she lifted her arm in the air, wishing desperately she could see, and felt a cold hang pull her to her feet, and arms catch arond her trembling body before she fell over again. Then, as she lay with her head in Theo's lap, she drifted off into her world, restfully and peacefully.

"Daddy, am I lovely?"

Yeah. Of course you are.

"If you were my age, would you.."

Would I what?

"Would you, um. Do me? Am I that lovely?"

What the fuck kind of question is that?

"Sorry. It's just that... aah nevermind."

.... yes.

"Yes what?"

I'm lonely, ever since Mom left.

"..."

I have to admit, it's hard being around such a pretty teenaged girl when you're a lonely man...

"Wh- what are you saying?"

Violet, dear... um. I have these photos. Of you. In the shower. Sleeping. I'm.. sorry.

"What the fuck!?"

Violet recited this conversation in a laughing, light hearted voice, ignoring the horror she had felt in her twelve year old body, quickly beginning to develop. She had no idea she was saying it out loud. She just knew she was happily dozing in her dream world, free, once again, from the mortal terror of her life.

Stephanie trudged through the trees behind Theo, they were definitely going to have to move swiftly darkness seemed to be creeping up on them with great speed. Even though they were calling for the girl, so far there hadn't been any vocal response, perhaps Violet had wanted to get away? This made no sense to Stephanie, this girl Violet was blind and extremely vulnerable it seemed stupid that she would have gone off on her own, unless of course this was some kind of crazy suicide attempt. Eventually Theo and Stephanie had followed a trail of blood that had led them to the outside of a cave.

"You think she's in there..?" Theo asked looking at Stephanie with a serious expression. Stephanie hesitated and finally nodded, she didn't really like the look of the cave, it was so dark and it was pretty likely to be inhabited by some creature or another. Possibly a dangerous creature, there was no way to be sure. "Well.. I think we should check it out.." Theo said as he approached the entrance, Stephanie had no choice but to follow, she wasn't going to wait outside and risk losing Theo. He was all she had right now. She watched as he took out a light and entered the cave, Stephanie took a deep breath and trailed behind him.

As Stephanie walked she dared not take her eyes off the back of Theo's head for even a split second. She didn't want to look around this dark cave, she worried that she might yet again see something that she wished she hadn't. As she stared at his head, she couldn't help but recall in her mind the gruesome surgery he had performed, how could he be so calm after that? That procedure was something that would be lodged in her mind forever, it must be so much worse for him. The pair were suddenly thrown into pitch black as the lighter died, Stephanie gasped in panic as Theo tried to make it light again. Stephanie hated the dark. After what seemed like a long time, Theo managed to get the lighter to flicker on again. Relief washed over Stephanie, however this was short lived as a flock of bats suddenly appeared out of nowhere, flying around their heads. Stephanie shrieked as the creatures swarmed around them and Theo waved his arms at them to try and keep them away.

"Damn it.. Are you ok Miss Stephanie?" he asked and she shook her head. Those had come out of nowhere and caught her by surprise, Stephanie struggled to regain her breath as she followed Theo further into the darkness. They soon came across water by their feet, "Fresh water..?" Theo said, Stephanie hoped it was fresh, she was unbearably thirsty but she wasn't going to drink any till he did, she didn't want to seem stupid or anything. "Hey.. Violet is that you?" asked Theo, he had noticed something Stephanie had not and the pair moved towards it. Sure enough there Violet was stood in the water in front of them. Violet turned to them and fell into the water, she was bleeding pretty bad. She was in a state but at least she wasn't dead thought Stephanie as the girl struggled in the water.

Then Violet spoke, "Thank you.. f-for coming back." and she continued to struggle in the water until Stephanie and Theo moved forward to try and pull her up. It would do Violet no good to stay in this water and catch a cold or something. Stephanie could feel tears welling up inside her again, she hated to see people helpless like this. Violet fell again and lay with her head rested on Theo's lap and she seemed to drift off into a deep sleep.

Stephanie looked at Theo meaningfully, "What are we going to do about her? She's messed up pretty bad " she managed to choke out.

Theo looked at Violet as she fell into him, and he slowly fell back onto his behind. Now, her head was in his lap, as she seemed to be talking about some strange things, stange, real sounding things. Theo felt so uncomfortable, he was so unused to this kind of contact. However, he knew that comfort was a luxury that leaders rarely got, always putting out to do what's best for their followers. Theo looked up at Stephanie, and when she commented on Violets well being, he looked back at her. "She should be fine after a good nights sleep.. It's us you should be worried about, not just her.." He slower took off the bag that was strapped onto his body, and replaced it with his lap beneath Violets head so that he could stand up.

"I need you to stay here while I get some things.. We need a fire, or we'll freeze to death.. the hotter a place is in the day, the colder it is at night.." Theo rubbed one hand over his face then looked down at the small stream of water, that seemed to be flowing in through a hole in the rock. Cautiously, he knelt down and cupped his hand, letting some water flow from the hole into his hand, which he then drank. "It's not sea water.. I think we've got lucky.. Don't drink more than you need, don't wanna get sick" Theo nodded and stood back up. "Look after Violet.. I'll be back soon with some wood.. and hopefully some food"

Theo turned without saying another word and left the cave, leaving Stephanie not much choice but to stay put. When he got outside the cave, he noticed it was pretty much pitch black, the sun had set and the dangers of night had set in. Theo picked up a nearby stick, and snapped it, now wielding a short but sharp branch. He knew it wouldn't do much against something as big as a boar.. or a bear if they were around. He doubted it. Theo began to feel bits of wood, checking them to make sure they were dry, and good enough to burn, gathering a nice little bundle.

Suddenly, something caught Theo's eyes, something strange. In the darkness, he swore something moved. Sure, there were animals in the Jungle, but this was certainly not an animal. It had been almost a human shadow.. Almost. He heard a snap behind him, and turned. A face, in the bushes, he was certain he saw one. Disfigured, and eyes wide, that's what he'd seen retract into the bush. Theo began to breath heavily, he was being watched by something, and he felt open. He quickly made his way back to the cave, hearing footsteps around him, building and getting louder and louder. He felt his body speed up, and the second he reached the cave, the noises fell silent. His imagination? it didn't matter. Slowly he entered the cave, and regrouped with the two, dropping the wood in a pile.

Stephanie could see how uncomfortable Theo was having Violet on his lap and she inwardly smiled. It was funny how they'd all been so close to eachother before in school yet they'd never known eachother and now here they were clinging to Theo as if their lives depended on it. Well their lives probably did depend on him right now, Violet was completely out of it and Stephanie was clueless. Theo seemed to know how to survive.

"She should be fine after a good nights sleep.. It's us you should be worried about, not just her.." Theo replied. This response irritated Stephanie a little, of course she was not just worried about Violet, there were countless worries in her head. Just because she didn't express them didn't mean they weren't there. His sarcasm seemed a little out of place considering the seriousness of the situation, did he really think she wasn't worried about herself and Theo? Clearly keeping Violet alive was going to be harder than looking after themselves, boys could be so god damn ignorant. Stephanie watched as Theo got up and placed his bag underneath Violets head. "I need you to stay here while I get some things.. We need a fire, or we'll freeze to death.. the hotter a place is in the day, the colder it is at night.." Stephanie felt sudden panic, he couldn't leave her and Violet! What if he didn't come back, then what would they do? They wouldn't last a day without him.

Stephanie's panicked thoughts were interrupted when Theo pointed out that the water in the cave wasn't sea water, well at least that was one thing sorted out. Stephanie knelt down and cupped some water into her hand and drank, it felt amazing it was such a big relief to finally be able to drink. Sure, it tasted funny but she didn't care, it was beautiful. Theo stood back up "Look after Violet.. I'll be back soon with some wood.. and hopefully some food" and with that he turned and left Violet and Stephanie alone.

Although she was sat beside Violet and the cave was filled with the mumblings of her dreams, Stephanie still felt completely alone. She'd never had many friends and she didn't communicate well with her family, being alone wasn't new to her but this was different. She felt like Violet, Theo and herself were the only people left in the world. She didn't want to cry again so she thought it'd be best to take her mind off it, so Stephanie began to sing. She found herself singing nursery rhymes, it was oddly comforting. It reminded her of a time when she'd been oblivious to everything, back to the time when she believed in fantasy and had never been aware of the cruelty in the world. Stephanie had had her own world and it had been perfect, childhood was truly a gift.

After what seemed like an eternity Theo returned to them, he dropped a pile of wood in front of her. It was a reasonable pile, Stephanie was impressed. She looked up at Theo "Thats great Theo, but did you manage to find any traces of food?"

Theo looked down at Stephanie when she asked about the food, unsure whether to mention what he saw. "I'm afraid not, I couldn't find anything worth while, but I figured since Watson had brought all this other stuff, he may have included something food like." He nodded as he looked down at the pile of sticks, kneeling and taking the lighter from his pocket. Theo lit it and noticed a dry leaf attached to one of the small branches, which he lit, and watched as the pile began to set ablaze. He picked up a few large nearby rocks and placed them around the fire, as to keep it together and within a certain area.

"We should be ok in terms of smoke.. This cave seems to be well ventilated." Theo was once again speaking in his soft and kind voice, which he always used when trying to keep hopes up and stress or fear down. "I don't know how deep this cave goes either, so we should probably check that out at some point." Carefully Theo lifted his hands up to the fire and let them be lightly heated by the emitting temperature of the flames. Thinking for a moment, he wondered whether to ask Stephanie if she'd seen anything strange. Maybe they weren't alone.

"So.. what's your story Miss Stephanie?" Theo said quietly, trying to keep things together with a little conversation.

Stephanie was disappointed to discover that Theo had not been able to find anything substantial to eat. She hadn't eaten any of the crappy food they gave out on the plane, processed mush had never really appealed to her, she had been hoping to get something once the plane had landed in Italy. She could kill for some pasta right now. Stephanie watched as Theo set about lighting the fire, she knew it was something essential to keep them alive but the fire was the last thing Stephanie wanted. Stephanie felt sticky from the humidity and the cave was still warm enough for her but of course it was going to get a lot colder in due course.

"We should be ok in terms of smoke.. This cave seems to be well ventilated." Theo said and Stephanie noticed that he seemed to be a lot calmer than what she had previously seen, this made Stephanie feel a little less on edge maybe he wasn't so bad, even if he was some guy who had just taken out a poor girls eyes probably without knowing what he was doing. Still Violet didn't seem to be on death's door... yet. Stephanie hoped she would be okay, so many people had been lost already. Theo mentioned that it might be a good idea to explore this cave to see how deep it was, Stephanie wasn't too keen on that idea she wouldn't want to get trapped or lost. Stephanie took that thought back, she was already lost.

"So.. what's your story Miss Stephanie?" What? He was asking about her? She had been right he was a lot calmer than before, he was actually taking some interest. Stephanie hesitated, she wasn't sure she wanted to discuss this with him "Theres not much, the plane crashed... I was on the beach by myself and then... erm I sorta hid behind a tree and like... I saw you... with all that medical stuff and I realized what you were going to do... and then you came up behind me and I was found" Stephanie looked at the floor and awaited Theo's reaction.

(( I don't mean to be rude or nothin' but I just noticed something that has confused me. Emily, how has Emi being floating for days if we've only been here for like one day? xD Sorry but it just got to me))

Theo gently rubbed the back of his head as he listened to Stephanie's reply, thinking about what she was saying. "So you saw that huh.. I was suprised at my ability.. I've never performed a major operation on a beach.. or ever.." He spoke in a suprisingly calm voice. "..I guess it worked out fine though hm? Oh, and I sorta meant before you ended up here on this stupid island." Theo smiled at Stephanie when he noticed her look at him, and closed his eyes as he reached back and dunked his hand into the water, lifting it to his mouth and drinking.

A few moments later, Theo stood up and stretched, beginning to walk from the cave. He heard Stephanie say something, and turned to her, "I gotta go shake hands with the president, and I'd rather not do it near to our water supply.." Theo noticed the look on her face and smiled before he walked out of the cave again, "I'll be back in a minute.." He exited the cave and paused for a moment, looking around. It was peaceful, and he almost felt at ease, even after the horrible face he had seen, everything seemed calm.

Theo stepped out into the darkness, and realised that it was pitch black. The whole island must have been dark now, north to south, east to west, all quilted in night. Slowly, he made his way to a nearby tree and unzipped his jeans, taking them down slightly, and preparing himself for his business. As he began to go, he listened to the sound of the jungle around him, insects, crickets and the occasional growls and hums he didn't find familiar. "Guess whatever came after me is gone now.. or just hiding."

"So you saw that huh.. I was suprised at my ability.. I've never performed a major operation on a beach.. or ever.." so Stephanie had been right, Theo hadn't known what he was doing. "..I guess it worked out fine though hm?" Maybe. They'd have to see. "Oh, and I sorta meant before you ended up here on this stupid island." Stephanie didn't want to think about it. She certainly wasn't going to tell him what her family was like. He'd probably block her out like all her other friends had when they'd discovered the truth.

"It doesn't matter" Stephanie said as Theo stood up and began to walk out of the cave. Where was he going now?! Stephanie looked up at him curiously "I gotta go shake hands with the president, and I'd rather not do it near to our water supply.." he told her and she smiled, the first smile since she'd got here. Theo walked out of the cave and Stephanie was left alone once more. She looked over at Violet's sleeping form, she hadn't stirred when Theo had lit the fire but rest was what she needed, maybe Stephanie needed it too. She considered this for a moment, it'd be best to wait until Theo got back so maybe one of them could keep watch. Softly Stephanie began to sing nursery rhymes again as she awaited his return

Theo was just finishing up when suddenly he heard a voice behind him, "Erm.. Hi?" With this, Theo spun around, half bent over to cover himself and half in a defencive stance. He managed to zip up his jeans and speak in an aggrivated voice, "Damn man.. Don't you know it's rude to sneak up on people like that?!" Theo took a deep breath and sighed, only now looking over the boy. He was wearing a pair of jeans and was bare from there upwards, as his top seemed to have been made into a bandage.

"You must be a survivor too hm? Well you can't stay out here.. come inside the cave.. We have fresh water and a fire.." Theo had returned to his calm self, speaking in a nicer manner. "You ok? What's the matter with your arm?" he said this in a more serious tone, beginning to walk back into the cave with the new guy. "You got a name? I'm Theo.." Theo noticed he was asking alot of questions and decided to let the boy answer, giving him enough time to get a word in at the very least before getting back to the group.

Theo looked at Stephanie and then at Nathan, "This is Stephanie.. and that's Violet.." He sighed a little bit before sitting down beside the fire in his previous spot. "Take a seat man.. make yourself at home.. If you need water there's the spring, help yourself.. as for food I'm afraid we'll have to wait till breakfast.." Theo looked over the group before sitting back against the cave wall and sighing, closing his eyes. "Oh.. and make sure not to put out the fire.. It will keep away creatures that wanna eat us.."

The guy infront of Nathan jumped for his life, he quickly turned pulling up his zip. " I'm sorry man, Didn't mean to scare you or anything" He stood there for a moment and stared at him.

"Yeah, What happened?" Nathan was persueaded by the guy and follwed him into the cave. Nathan didnt know what to think about the boy but he knew that two people are better than one aspecially with wild things running around. "I cut it, most of been from the plane crash or something" Nathan followed the boy further into the cave being overwelmed by questions but the boy stopped and went quite. "Am Nathan, Nice to meet you Theo"

Nathan looked down at the two girls next to Theo, "Hello Stephanie, am Nathan" He looked down at Voliet who was silently sleeping, "What happened to her eyes?" Nathan thought to himself. He than grabbed hudge hand fulls from the steam and took large gulps of the fresh water he then found a hard bumpy stone to sit on, he was just happy to take the weight of his ankle.

Nathan belly rumbled as he layed back on the cave wall and stared into the fire, thinking silently to himself.. "What now?" as he gently closed his eyes and drifted to sleep.

The new guy didn't appear to have heard Stephanie as he gulped down a load of water and sat himself down and stared into the fire. It wasn't long before he was asleep, he must be pretty exhausted. They could always have introductions in the morning. Now Stephanie had a problem, all the people around her were sleeping and she didn't know whether she'd be able to join them, it was hardly the comfiest place to sleep. Maybe she could keep watch but she had to admit it seemed a stupid idea, she knew she'd just be scared silly and would probably end up waking the others at the slightest noise.

For a while Stephanie just sat there biting her nails and letting herself reflect on the days events. Maybe if she went to sleep she would wake up and find herself back home. No that wouldn't happen but how she wished it could, Stephanie at that moment wanted nothing more than her own room and her own four-poster bed, back to everything that was familiar to her. Stephanie sighed and tried to get a little more comfortable, she wished she'd have been wearing a coat or something that she could have used as a pillow, sleeping on stone wasn't going to be so great. She would probably have even more bruises in the morning but there was nothing she could do about that. Stephanie looked at Theo next to her, he was sound asleep he wouldn't care if she lay on him. So Stephanie moved so that her head rested on his knees, that was a little better. Now all Stephanie could do was watch the fire glow and wait for sleep to find her and eventually it did.

Day Two
Early Morning - Unknown Place - Unknown time:

Theo was walking down a long corridor, filled with white blinding light. Obviously the first thought he had was if he was dead or not, however, he was too interested to stop walking. There was a click, and suddenly it was dark in the corridor. Had someone hit the lightswitch or something? Theo noticed something further down it, a light had turned on, but was flickering. He slowly began to walk again, until he was stood in the only part of the corridor that was lit up. Darkness surrounded both sides, and suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Theo turned to see a pair of glowing yellow eyes, and the disfigured face holding them in it's sockets. Then the body, long and tall. The hand on his shoulder had only three long fingers.Theo was frozen, until the figure began to glow blue, and began to particulate, breaking down and slowly disappearing.

Early Morning - Cave - 7:00AM:

Theo's eyes opened slowly. Was that a dream? it had felt so real to him. Theo let his eyes dance over the cave, letting consciousness bring him out of his daze. The fire was out, and everyone seemed to be asleep. Nathen.. Violet.. Ste.. Wait, where was Stephanie? It was only now that Theo felt something weighing down his lap, and let his eyes lower to look for himself. It was Stephanie, using his lap as a pillow, and causing him to seize up a little. He wasn't sure what to do, he felt strange and warmth was rushing to his forehead and face. Theo carefully shifted from under her, making sure not to wake her, and stood up.

Taking a deep breath, Theo shuddered at the strange feeling, and walked towards the entrance of the cave, going to get some air. He noticed sunlight as he progressed, that was one night down, fuck knows how many to go. Theo took a step outside of the cave and took in another deep breath, letting it out with a peaceful sigh. Suddenly, his eyes were caught by something. He looked down at his feet, and saw some rocks, seemingly in formation, a semi circle, just around the entrance. Theo raised an eyebrow, wondering who'd done this, before heading further into the Jungle to find something for breakfast.

Stephanie awoke several times in the night, she kept drifting in and out of sleep. Her mind just simply would not rest and Stephanie coulndn't block out her thoughts as they ran across her mind over and over again. On top of that, Theo didn't make the best pillow he kept twitching in his sleep, obviously lost in his dreams. The fire also kept her awake, she was used to sleeping in complete darkness and the light was irritating. Stephanie did manage to catch a little sleep and by the time the first birds began to sing she was asleep once more.

Stephanie awoke some time later, she couldn't be sure what time it was but she figured it was early seeing as everyone around her was still sleeping, except for Theo. Where had he disappeared to? Stephanie hadn't noticed him move her off his lap, she must have really been out of it. Stephanie got up and rubbed some water on her face, eurgh she felt so dirty. There seemed to be sand and dirt everywhere and she didn't even want to think about what her hair must look like. Not that it mattered, everyone was in the same situation. She wondered where Theo could be, he must have gone to search for food or something it seemed unlikely that anything bad had happened, he would have screamed or called for help. Plus he seemed to have his head screwed on, he wouldn't be doing anything moronic.

Stephanie thought about going out of the cave to look for him but decided she wouldn't, just in case Violet woke up, panicked and wandered off again. Maybe she'd be feeling a little better today. Instead of leaving the cave Stephanie sat down beside her sleeping companions and waited.

Theo nodded, "Ok, it's on some trees back there.. Grab as much as you can, then we can share out what we have" He smiled at Kuroi and watched as he went to pick some of the fruit. When he returned, Theo led the two silently along the stream side, listening to the water run and the birds hum. The place was actually very beautiful and was the sort of place that Theo would go for a holiday for a week or two. That is provided there was a hotel and somewhere that he could do a karaoke.

A feeling of hapiness washed over Theo as he began to think a little more. Sure they were stuck on this island, and sure they had no idea how they'd get home, but he felt that he was doing a good thing by finding all these people and taking care of them. A random thought about Stephanie popped into his head as he walked, and he wondered why she had chose him to rest on. Nathan had popped up out of the blue also, and Theo reminded himself to take a look at that wound on his arm at some point.

Finally they reached the cave, and Theo led the way. "In here.. try not to trip over any rocks" he spoke in a cautious voice as they got back to the others. Theo placed the fruit down in a pile on the floor, and nodded at Kuroi to do the same. "Ok.. Breakfast is served.. Stephanie, this is Kuroi and.. a girl with no voice.. Kuroi and Girl, this is Stephanie, and that's Violet and Nathan." Nathan was still asleep, and Theo saw no sign of Violet being awake. He sat down in his spot and took an orange, unpealing it and taking a segment. "It's good.. Haha, It's good!"

She heard Theo walk into the cave; she heard him introduce them to Stephanie. Violet stood up and carefully walked over to where she heard the voices, a strange anger rising inside of her. Why did Theo have to save her? A blind life stranded on an Island is no life worth living. The thought itself was entirely depressing, and Violet's mood plummeted even more.

If only I could see the sunlight. I... know there's heat. I don't know how.

"Yes, that's right. Forget the eyeless girl." Violet said loftily, in a terribly sarcastic yet condescending voice. "You didn't introduce them to me, Theo."

She also smelled the food. Her stomach rumbled and she leanded towards the food.

"... Can someone help me get the food?" Violet asked in a dead, washed out voice, helplessly reaching towards where the fruits were.

All Stephanie could think about while he waited was how hungry she was, it completely took over her mind. She really hoped Theo had gone to find food and that he was successful. The growls of Stephanie's stomach echoed throughout the cave, she didn't think she could bear it much longer. Stephanie went over to the water and took a long drink, it did make her feel a little better just slightly less empty. Stephanie sighed and sat back in her previous position, she wished Theo would hurry back.

"In here.. try not to trip over any rocks" came a familiar voice. Finally Stephanie thought. Yet again Theo was not alone he had brought with him another guy, how many more could there be? Theo dropped a pile of fruit in front of her, bananas, oranges and.. yuk. Dragon fruit. Stephanie hated dragon fruit. She reached out for an orange and began to peel it, she also handed one to Violet. "Ok.. Breakfast is served.. Stephanie, this is Kuroi and.. a girl with no voice.. Kuroi and Girl, this is Stephanie, and that's Violet and Nathan." Stephanie barely heard him, the orange was taking up most of her attention she couldn't wait to eat it. Theo himself took an orange and peeled it with ease while she sat struggling trying to get into hers "It's good.. Haha, It's good!". How had he peeled it so quickly? Eurgh. He could do everything right. Eventually Stephanie managed to peel hers and she started cramming the pieces into her mouth. God oranges were good.

Early Morning - Cave - 7:45AM

Theo's smile dropped as he heard Violet's comment, placing another piece of Orange in his mouth. "I thought you were asleep.. I didn't think a sleeping person would take much interest.." he spoke lightly and nodded to Kuroi as he left, wondering if he would come back, or whether he was just using them for food. It didn't really matter, he was a survivor, and he'd have his uses surely. "Now.. While we have a team going.. we need to know what we can all do, for future uses.. I can fix people up and plan ahead.. What about you guys?" he looked around at the three girls and the sleeping Nathan, who he'd say was dead if he wasn't snoring.

Theo took a banana from the pile of fruit and peeled it easily, taking a bite from it and sighing. He had been looking at the negitives way too closely, and only realised it now. "Oh, and it's nice to meet you Emi.." Theo smiled and took another bite from the banana, placing the peel next to him. "Help yourself to fruit, and we have a spring just there if you want a drink too" he gave another smile before letting it dip into his neutral face. He began thinking about the dream he had, what had it meant? and why did he see the thing from yesterday? Maybe it was just a simple nightmare.. Maybe it was something more.
