Introduction

-Nicole Gulla

This sudden drop in population wasn't of natural causes and actually caused the town to be wary of any outside people. It was the first time in the history of this town that there was a murder this brutal. According to the official reports the horrendous act was done by one man while he was traveling through their tiny town. With what appeared to be no real motive the town was terrified and on edge. What the official reports didn't mention was that while only one man was charged with the murder he was only an unwilling accomplice and the true killers were vast in numbers and not human at all.
The official reports didn't leave out this information from the official reports to hide what really happened. They just simply didn't know, because this town has its own protection squad. Since the towns creation more than just humans have been drawn to it and while most of these beings are friendly some needed to be put in their place before they hurt anyone. That's where the Moonlight Hill book store at the edge of town comes in. This small family bookstore is owned by a lovely couple and in the last 11 years they've taken in three more young ones to help out, all of which can do some serious damage if needed. One of the ones that has been brought into the family was the orphan of the couple from ten years ago. As the only human working for Moonlight Hill she is constantly facing the over protectiveness of her new siblings. She is always looking for a way to help out and prove herself though she knows the least of their world.
Since the only time Moonlight Hill has ever failed to save anyone was 10 years they are almost more wary of any and all visiting the town. Though even they couldn't predict the mess one injured traveller would bring to their lives.

Ivy Rose Rodiela
LOCATION: Valmead, Connecticut

SPEECH COLOR: #990066
Ivy sighed as she sat outside the town hall while waiting for her sister. She stared at her book pretending that she didn't notice the stares from the folks passing her by. The whispers seemed magnified in the quiet street but she didn't have to ignore them for long as the whispers suddenly stopped as the town hall doors opened and out stepped the mayor with Malecai and Anastasia. She put her book down and said, "Hello Mayor. How are you doing today?" He smiled at me and said, "Young Ivy Rose! What brings you to my neck of the woods? ACTUALLY when did you arrive? You know you really shouldn't be walking be yourself through town. It dangerous you know." Ivy stared at the Mayor in udder silence for a few moments before sighing as she stood up with the hands on her hips saying, "Now Mayor... I'm not sure your OR anyone in my family for that matter has realized this but I'm an adult and as an adult I am perfectly capable walking through a town with a population of less than 550 people. So it would be nice IF YOU GUYS WOULD LET ME LIVE MY LIFE AS SUCH WITHOUT FREAKING OUT EVERY TIME I LEAVE THE HOUSE OR BOOKSTORE."
As Ivy's out burst ended the Mayor smiled at the young woman fondly as the other male stepped forward to retrieve the fallen book from the ground. After retrieving the book he turned toward the Mayor and nodded as a way of farewell before speaking so quiet that only Ivy heard more than a murmur. "VyVy...I understand your frustrations I truly do but you of all people should know that things aren't always what they seem. There are things out there that can't be explained and those things for some reason want an innocent 21 year old. So why don't I walk you home while your sister finishes up here. I dread to think of how Gwen will react to you walking across town by yourself so close to the anniversary." Ivy rolled her eyes at the suggestion but turned to head the direction of their home and shop nonetheless freezing when she saw that number of spectators had multiplied since the Mayor and her Family had exited the building.
Everyone in the crowd was looking on stunned as they watched the exchange play out for a number of reasons. The first being even though the Mayor was a man past his prime he was still a towering figure who never hesitated to make sure people knew their place when they were acting up. He was born into the family that had always been elected into office and from the moment he was elected he set out to prove himself while attempting to squash the rumors forming about the quiet couple that owned the eclectic book store on the out skirts of town. He handled the fear and uncertainty that came with the sudden murder of two residents at the edge of town and frequently checked up on their orphaned daughter. In all his years as the mayor no one had seen anyone get away with speaking to him in such a manor. The fact that he was smiling so fondly at the Ivy as she did just that only further proved that the older man had a soft spot for the young women of not the whole family. The other reasons for the shock revolved around both Ivy and Malecai.
Every since her parents death Ivy has been known to keep to herself not really speaking unless spoken to and NEVER raising her voice. For the longest time the whole town wondered if she had facial expressions beyond those of the polite smile she gives others when passing, but the they'd catch a glimpse of unguarded emotions while alone with her family and find themselves in awe. Malecai on the other had was a gorgeous human whose mere existence left people dumbstruck but no one had ever heard his voice and for some reason just the chance of them getting to hear him speak had them frozen.
As Ivy stared at the growing crowd she put one hand in her back pocket and waved awkwardly with the other. In her pocket there was a note causing her to jump as she turned back toward Anastasia. "OH there actually was a reason I came all the way down here. You left this at home Ana and I figured you'd need it.. Now Malecai I think you were right, we should try to get home before Big Sis discovers I've left." With that she turned to leave.

Malecai quickly walked over to Anastasia giving her a quick peck on the lips before quietly saying "I'll meet you in the forest after I take your sister home. Hopefully tonight will go by quickly so we can have some time for ourself." Anastasia smiled as she watched her man run to catch up to her sister. Over the last hour Malecai and her helped the Mayor plot and think of a reason to impose a curfew for a few nights in the upcoming weeks. The beings in the forest around the town were growing restless and with the 10th anniversary coming none at Moonlight Hill wanted to take chances. At first the Mayor was hesitant about imposing such a rule but he ultimately agreed to make it happen with very little questions asked. This was in part due to the Mayor's family. After generations of people in the office the Mayor knew that Moonlight Hill were not people to question. If they came to you with a request it was for the towns greater good so you best follow it. As soon as the two were out of sight she turned back to the mayor. "I'm terribly sorry for all of the trouble we've caused you today. I know sometimes it's a lot to ask for your blind faith but just know it really means so much to us that you do trust us. I'll continue feeling out for if the curfew truly is necessary and come visit you closer to the anniversary to discuss. Now if you'll excuse me."
With that Anastasia began walking to the forest opposite of her home. The note clutched firmly in her hand over the last couple of nights sleep has alluded her as those residing in the woods were reaching out scream for protections from a threat that shook the various life around them to the core. Ana new that the possibility of history repeating itself was high which is why she'd do everything in her power to protect the youngest in their small family. VyVy might not know how important she is but that won't stop them from treating her as such.
Ana chuckled remembering the day Ivy discovered that her sisters were witches. Ana had gotten caught casting a spell causing Ivy the freak out. Luckily they were able to use this to their advantage and told her that the reason they were so over protective was to protect her from their world because being a mortal in a house full of supernatural beings put a target in her back. This also gave Ana an excuse for her and Malecai to teach Ivy martial arts as a way to have some form of protects just in case they weren't around. The sound of a branch snapping pulled her out of her thoughts. Whipping around she prepared to attack. A sigh of relief left her as she saw her husband standing there. She grabbed his hand as she pulled out the paper to see the precise location of where they were to meet the other creatures so they could get a better understanding of what truly had everyone worried.

Arcane Witch, the Guardian
Little... was said a lot about this gigantic body of a black cat that laid on top of a pile of herbs, tools and broken vials. His guts were open, and he was barely breathing. Gwen was devastated, she felt the connection between them fading away, on the verge of breaking. She hated that feeling, as she had lost a familiar before in her childhood, a golden snake killed by her little sister due to jealousy and hate. Nothing could ever hurt her like this, no heartbreak was ever this painful than losing someone that had this deep connection with her as Ziva had... and Kinzley's connection was even stronger, thus the pain evident on her face made Devyn worried. Gwen had shared her life through memories with her husband, thus he knew what was going on.
Falling on her knees right in front of Kinzley, surrounded by all other familiars minus Cain, whom had gone with Anastasia and Malecai into the woods. Gwen understood why, her Bloodsister was on the mission of her own and it was important for their cause; but she was angry and knew either Cain was going to mention this to her family or Ana would sense that something was completely off with Gwen. As tears were trailing over her face, she tried to do her best to heal Kinzley, who shook his head in her mind and let her know through emotional connection that he couldn't make it. That it was time to let him go. She just collapsed... Gwen collapsed into Devyn's arms, and he just let her cry, the scream echoing throughout not just their household, but throughout the area surrounding their home. It was painful, and the oldest of their little family was going to be different for some time, mourning the familiar and the bond they had.
Still dazed from the unslept night, which had been living nightmare for Gwen, she realized finally Ivy was gone. Instead of pissing off and rushing after the girl as she had as a habbit, the head of the household just went to meet Ivy on the doorstep of their home. She just stood there, hands crossed over her chest, her face sad, disappointed and the moment their eyes met, before turning away, she just spoke to her little sister: "Come with me." The voice that came from Gwen, was unlike her - it was cold, disappointed and just cut-throatingly distant. Heading to the back door and into the greenhouse, she simply asked of Ivy to lend a hand. It was hard for her to speak, it was hard to just yell out at Ivy for not ever listening. She didn't even care of what Ivy would feel or think seeing the mess in their beloved and sacred place, to where she was not let in ever before, Gwen tried her best to hold back tears, and thus just bit into her lower lip and turned to Ivy: "Help me bury Kinzley." Devyn had already dug a hole and was waiting for the two sisters appear, carrying lifeless body of a big feline.

Gwen' familiar, Ana x Mal' 'son'
Moving his big ears cautiously, then taking a seat nearby his family members and licked couple stubborn strands of fur on his tail back into place, turning his head half-way towards two people nearby: "Ye," he just simply said, "I don't know about the two of you, but I have a feeling that some shit is going to happen today." Among all familiars that Gwen had, he had the potty-mouth, but Cain himself simply didn't care. Sometimes he was called out for it, teased for it, but in general all of them were used to it.
Despite letting them know, Cain felt the bond shiver and crack. At first it was simply annoying, cause Kinzley had the tendency to get wounded, but as the day went on, it got worse. He had been with Oona in the forest and not around the house, until he met up with Ivy and Mal briefly before coming to meet up with Anastasia. Suddenly it hit him, and the fox actually gagged, as if he was to throw up a ball of fur, but nothing came out. Cain felt his feet become weak and with a snap, the connection was broken, this ending up him suddenly cough up blood. The scream echoed throughout his whole being, the scream of Gwen losing the connection of Kinzley. Cain felt of how through the connection, that Gwen blocked Anastasia sensing anything. It was a wave of powerful magic and it knocked the small-sized fox off of his feet. Somehow managing to pull himself back, Cain felt dizzy and this time he gagged even more, little bit of blood spilling from the corner of his mouth.
Closing his eyes, he sighed as he sat there, dizzy and out of it all. Something had happened, something bad. He had been right... he had been right. It was delayed, the wave of pain, and disaster. "Shit," he whispered. Gwen had managed to hold it within for all these hours, away from all the connections with each familiar she has, but even if it was hours ago, he felt it now. The all felt it now. Cain felt it with all of his being and he couldn't stop it... he couldn't stop shivering. Being mad at Gwen not letting them know sooner, he just shivered, until Malecai took him into his arms. Pressing himself against the vampire's chest, he let a tear run over his furry cheek. Although Kinzley had been the newest addition to their family, Cain and Kinzley had grown specially close. He loved Kinzley like a brother, and he felt of how affected even Gwen was.
This meeting was going to be thought for all of them...

Ivy walked back to her room feeling like an emotionless empty shell, the process of bury Kinzley just gutted her completely. Kinzley was one of her sisters life lines and seeing her so broken just destroyed her. Silently she changed into her pajamas before she all those missing emotions came rushing back to her leaving her a crying mess on the bed. Every since her parents death Ivy has been sensitive around anything related to death in general. It always struck her as strange because she had no memory of her life prior to their deaths but sometimes so much as a dead bird could set her off. It wasn't always the case but when it did it was uncontrollable and she couldn't stop. Luckily the break downs never happened in public, they always took place when she was back in her own room away from everyone else. Truthfully she wasn't even sure her family knew about the break downs she had when faced with anything related to death.
After what felt like hours of crying she heard footsteps walking up stairs. This was followed by giggling and Anastasia's joking tone saying, " I'm serious Mal, I've been living as one Anastasia Goodwin for long enough. I think it's time we plan a wedding so I can reclaim my life as your wife!' This statement caused a broken chuckle to silently escape Ivy's lips.
The male also chuckled before replying, "Why sure thing love.. Should I take your ring from my first proposal to do a public proposal OR is this your way of asking for a new ring?" This cute sarcastic comment from her brother-in-law caused another broken chuckle to escape Ivy this time it was much louder and the fact she was crying very apparent. She calmly looked up only to to see both Anastasia and Malecai standing there staring at her worried.
Ivy looked at them silently pleading and then whispered, "......Kinzley....." The moment the name left her mouth understanding dawned on the couples faces. Anastasia stood there for a moment longer before she said, "Oh honey are you okay? The nod from Ivy apparently wasn't convincing enough because she then heard, "I'm gonna go check on Gwen and then I'll bring you two up some tea.
The footsteps leaving them echoed around the two before she felt the bed next to her dip. "You okay Vyvy? Need me to tell you a bedtime story?" Ivy giggled before whining, "Oh shush Vamps! I'm almost 21 you don't have to treat me like a baby" The teasing pout was evident in her voice and Malecai hummed in acknowledgment before silently pulling Ivy into his arms. He was quiet for a long while before saying, " You sure you don't want to hear about the misadventures of one Prince Nono? Stories of him normally brighten our princesses mood" Ivy made a sound of frustration before she responded. "Once again Mal you don't need to baby me! But yes I'd love to hear about more of Nono's misadventures." She giggled a bit before continuing," That poor man seemed to have the world against him but always seemed positive and I love hearing of y'alls friendship....Hey Vamps quick question. You've only done this a time or two but why do you call Nono a prince?' Malecai was silent. So silent in fact that Ivy actually wondered if she had said something wrong. She turned her tear stained face toward Malecai just in time to see various emotions flash across his face. It happened so fast Ivy wasn't sure if she was seeing things or not. Finally she received the joking answer of, "Well only because he happens to be the prince in shining armor to our little clans princess." Ivy quickly hit his chest causing him to chuckle before he launched into a new tell of Nono and his misadventures.

Arcane Witch, the Guardian
After the burial, the blondie had found her way into their well supplied kitchen - this one in particular would've been any witch's pride. Filled with not just dried items of food, but also different kind of herbs and medicinical plants, crystals and even greenery, which was freely growing in the space, Gwen had found herself a place in front of a counter, those fast fingers now working slowly on the seeds of a magical plant. Cleaning them out of their shells, she was as if moving like an AI. There was no emotion lingering around the head of this family, but inside, it was as if hell. Literally.
Still trying to keep it up, keep it inside, it was immensly hard; and without noticing all these feelings were bleeding out to be picked up by her bloodsister Anastasia, she continued to walk on the edge. It was so much like Gwen, keeping most of it for herself, until being found out by her husband or younger sister or by both. Trying to protect everyone has always taken a great toll on her, and even if she wasn't letting anyone know, her bloodsister most likely did.
the exiled Prince
Sadly, right before arriving in one piece, some brick managed to attack him and it ended Aamon getting severly wounded. He wasn't going to die from this, but surely it made him immobile for a while.
Finding a forgotten little hut in the forest, not far from the edge of the town and Gwen's household, the long haired vampire prince was fighting with sanity. It had been years since he had drank humanoid's blood, always scraping by with animal or alike. In the rest of the world, where supernaturals were living more freely among unknowing humans, there were specific bloodbanks for each liking - those had been his banks for food, but being back there... where everything started.... he didn't know if he had made the right choice.
