Eve is upset and struggling to deal with the fact that her history with Ruby is gone. They went through some very tough times together, and now Eve is all alone. |{Personality}|
Eve is a kind, upbeat person, but lately she is struggling to keep her usual bubbly personality. Any happiness is a faquade. She and her best friend Ruby used to be joined at the hip…right until she was cured from her luekemia, and forget about her. Eve has a huge price to pay for saving Ruby’s life, and she has never felt so alone in the world before. Right now, she is slowly sinking into depression. She isn’t too far gone yet though – if you’re the right person, she is a joy to be around.

It was Eve’s caring and over protective personality that got her into this mess, but now she is beginning to regret her act of selflessness. She shall slave on with what little she has left of her life however, as she is stubborn and not one to give up too easily. Another reason as to why her fate is now sealed.

{Place of Origin}
London, England.

{History}
Eve and her best friend Ruby have been joined at the hip since they knew each other in Year 1. Eve had just moved into the neighbor hood, starting a new school in a new country. The first person to introduce themselves was Ruby, and they hit off. Each break time at school, they would play private games with each other, and were always at each other’s houses.

As they got older, Eve’s older sister fell into depression. She had been bullied at school for her origin and looks, and had no friends. Eventually, it got too much, and she committed suicide, by jumping off a bridge. None of her family had even known what was going on, so it was a shock to them all. Eve was horrified at the thought that she hadn’t been there for her sister when she needed it, and as a result, fell into depression herself and started self harming.

Ruby helped her through it, along with her family. She would take her out to places every other night, keep her up to date with the latest celebrity gossip, and just generally always distract her, always put a smile on her face. For that, Eve was very grateful.

When they turned 16, Ruby met the man of her dreams. They were perfect for each other, and fell in love right away. Despite this, Ruby never ever ditched Eve, she somehow always seemed to manage her time so that she was spending a lot of her week with both Eve and her boyfriend, keeping everyone happy all round. Eve was very happy for Ruby, especially as things started looking more serious when they got older.

Then, things went downhill once more. Ruby was diagnosed with acute leukemia at the age of 17. She was in and out of hospital for a bit, and things were looking up, but suddenly everything went downhill and she needed an urgent transplant – but nothing was available. It was predicted that she only had 24 hours left to live. In desperation, Eve did something she had learnt about in the stories her mother used to tell her – find a crossroads and summon a crossroads demon
Eve had been rather skeptic about the whole demon thing, so when one appeared, she was surprised. She asked the demon to do her a deal to bring her best friend back to health, and her only option was to have everyone’s memories wiped, apart from her own. Ruby would not remember her or anything that they had done together, and no one would ever remember Eve and Ruby ever meeting.

Eve reluctantly agreed; anything to save her best friends life and give her and her boyfriend the happy ever after that they deserved. The deal was sealed with a kiss, as always, which disgusted Eve. This was when the worst bit came; for the demon tricked her. As he pulled her close, he whispered, “And in ten years from now, you shall die and you soul shall be mine,” before kissing her and sealing a deal she hadn’t quite agreed to. It also happened to be her first kiss, as she has never had a boyfriend. She was always a bit overshadowed by Ruby, and boys never looked at her. So, that was a memorable first kiss, in all the wrong ways.

Now, Eve is struggling to get through her life when her best friend doesn’t remember her, won’t speak to her, and is beginning to think she is a stalker. She defiantly won’t be invited to her wedding. On top of that, even if anyone can give her a happy life, it will all be torn from her in ten years time. Then she will most likely go to Hell. All for a best friend who doesn’t remember her, let alone show her any gratitude.

David Williams – Father – Alive
Alicia Williams – Sister - Dead

{Happiest Memory}
Once, Eve and Ruby had gone to the park on a hot summers day, shortly after Eve had started recovering from her depression. They were both dressed in matching american hot pants, tank tops and rollar skates. They skated around the park, eating ice cream, being noticed by boys, and being care free. It was the first time Eve had felt alive in ages, and she felt so grateful towards Ruby. She now looks upon this memory with mixed emotions of happiness and longing for something that she can no longer have.

{Saddest Memory}
When Ruby was first admitted to hospital with acute leukemia. Eve went straight to see her as soon as she heard the news. She found a pale, tearful looking boyfriend at Ruby’s bedside, but Ruby was rather optimisic. Even though she knew that her friend was worried on the inside, Eve didn’t know how to comfort her. She tried to distract her just like she had once done, but to this day does not feel like she ever did a good enough job.

Theme Songs

{"We look before and after, And pine for what is not; Our sincerest laughter With some pain is fraught; Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought.” }

-Percy Bysshe Shelley

Above and Below
“Ooowwww
Ooowwww

Sometimes I feel
Like I wanna leave this place for good
Under the ground
I'll live down there without a sound
And never hear
These hissing voices all the same
I'll disappear
Cause living makes me feel ashamed

Ooowwww
Ooowwww

I must believe
There's more above us and below
I must believe
Stranded with this bitch called hope
It keeps me here
When all I wanna do is go
It keeps me here
When all I wanna do is disappear

If this is it
When all we have and ever will
If this is it
Time is running out and standing still
I'll leave today
Cause there's nothing left to keep me here
I'll fade away
I'll turn my back and disappear

The city moves
Lunges up right from the ground
The seething Earth
It opens up and spits us out
This vicious child
Nature never wanted us
This vicious child
A cancer burning black into its heart

If this is it
When all we have and ever will
If this is it
Time is running out and standing still
I'll leave today
Cause there's nothing left to keep me here
I'll fade away
I'll turn my back and disappear

Ooowwww
Sometimes I feel
Like I wanna leave this place for good
Under the ground
I'll live down there without a sound
And never hear
These hissing voices all the same
I'll disappear
Cause living makes me feel ashamed

If this is it
When all we have and ever will
If this is it
Time is running out and standing still
I'll leave today
Cause there's nothing left to keep me here
I'll fade away
I'll turn my back and disappear
I'll turn my back and disappear”

“Eve,” Someone is saying, but she can’t find them in the darkness. Spinning around in endless circles, she cannot make out anything, until she sees a distant bright light.

“Eve,” the voice says again, and she recognises it. Why can’t she put the voice to a name or face?

The light glows brighter, gets closer, then suddenly Eve finds her vision zooming out. She is staring into a glare of light coming off an engagement ring, and her best friend Ruby is holding it up for her to admire.

“I’m getting married, Eve,” the voice says, now clearly belonging to Ruby. “Isn’t that great?” She holds out her ring for Eve to take and have a look at, and Eve eagerly reaches out to accept it.

An invisible wall blocks her way.

“Ruby?” She asks, feeling panicked as her hands slide against the invisible barrier. Her friend’s expression mirrors her concern.

“You won’t be around to see the wedding, Eve,” Ruby says, her expression forming into a mix of betrayal and spite. “You can’t protect me anymore.”

Eve pounds at the invisible barrier, her breath coming out in short gasps. Ruby clutches her engagement ring to her chest, and the clear diamond changes to become deep red. It is no longer a ring at all, a sliver of red liquid trickles down her chest from within it. It is a wound.

“RUBY!” Eve shrieks, watching her friend drop to the floor. The barrier breaks, and she runs towards her friend, but the body has vanished before she can get there.

“You abandoned me,” a small voice whispers, sounding meek and scared. “I did so much for you, and you’ve left me unprotected.”

“No!”

Eve wakes up bolt upright in bed, drenched in sweat. This is the first time she has had that specific nightmare, but many of the same nature have been plaguing her for weeks. It leaves her frightened and unsettled, and she is beginning to wonder if they are foreshadowing something bad that is to happen. Will Ruby die soon? Will she be murdered?

The thought is too much to bear. Shuddering, Eve wipes away the tears that have made their trail down her cheeks, and throws her covers away from her body. She is getting up earlier than usual, but she does not wish to try and get any extra sleep, in the fear that she will have nightmares once more.

Swinging her legs out of bed, Eve gets up and heads to the bathroom. After a shower to freshen herself up, she leaves her wavy ginger hair in its natural state after she has dried it, and gets dressed in her outfit. She quickly applies some basic makeup, then grabs her satchel and prepares to leave the house. She’ll walk to school today, it’s a nice morning.

She slips out the house without a word of her leaving to anyone, and begins to walk to school.

Cher glanced out her window to see Vita and Squid heading into the building along with some other students. She quickly finished eating her sandwich, took a large gulp of her water, and tossed the trash on the passenger seat of her car. She mentally told herself again to clean that out when she got home. It was currently cluttered with two shopping bags, a candy wrapper, a pack of lollipops, a pack of lifesavers, which she put in her purse along with her lollipops, a shopping bag, and strangely enough a hairdryer. She reached in her bag and pulled out a pack of mints, her blush lipstick, and her curl friendly brush. She ran the brush through her hair gently then shoved it back in her bag, applied lipstick, and chewed up a mint. Finally she grabbed all her books and her bag and slipped out her car. She pulled at her soft cropped cami, fruitlessly and bushed the invisible dust off her jeans.

Finally she briskly walked into the school. Immediately she spotted Vita. The two writers had gotten along since day one and Cher found her to be a reliable friend. Among all the girls she found herself closest to Vita and Eve, and as a result she associated with them the most. She walked easily in her heels to her, leaving a tell tale scent of brown sugar in her wake. Even before bath & body works, as a child she always smelled like brown sugar. Her grandmother used to make remedies for everything and she made body products which she sold throughout her block. When Cher was ten she asked her to make a exclusive one just for her. The scent she requested? Brown Sugar. So as a result she always smelled like brown sugar and it seemed to follow her around. A flip of the hair, a brief hug, or even her just walking past you and you would know it was her.

" Vita!" She said she said wrapping her thin arms around the girl in a quick hug "Hey, are you headed to sociology?" She tossed her hair off her shoulder a bit. She was letting it grow lately so it hung down her chest and was constantly touching her bare skin, a feeling that unsettled her a bit. She glanced at her phone in her pocket and sucked her teeth " I should get to the art room before the good stuff is gone" She looked over her shoulder and spotted Squirt as well "But catch you later right?" She asked though it sounded like catcha' ya lata' right? And of course everything she said sounded like a question because her voice got higher at the end. Once the girls said a brief goodbye she walked up to Squid and bumped his shoulder " Hey'a Squid" She said with a smile, though she knew he couldn't see it, she thought maybe he could hear it or maybe feel it though she really didn't know the semantics. She felt like it was like when you are on the phone with somebody and you know they're smiling without seeing it. "See you at lunch?" She blushed brightly "I mean, well you know what I mean.. I think. She pinned a hair behind her ear "I mean- screw it! Catcha' later Squid" She hurried off in the direction of the art room, thoroughly embarrassed enough.

Cher hurried into the drawing room to set up her stuff. She found a table close enough to the board that she could see the board but toward the room so she could see everybody else's stuff and close enough to the window that she could day dream. Once she sat down she popped a lollipop in her mouth, cherry flavored, and opened up her sketch book on the table. She also laid out a charcoal pencil, a lead pencil, a pencil especially for sketching and clay and rubber erasers.

"I'm kinda tired" She muttered to herself, laying her head on her arms. a tumble of brown curls spilled over her shoulder and one side of her neck and back in the process. She decided to stay like that while she waited for her friends and classmates.

After a short walk to school with her music to keep her company, Eve walks the corridors feeling slightly more awake and refreshed. She has always found that walking to school does that. There is nothing better than walking to places early in the morning, when everything is fresh and beautiful, and your favourite band is playing down your ears.

Eve keeps her head down as she navigates the corridors and heads to her locker. She doesn’t always go to the cafeteria, as it is another crowded place with the risk of seeing Ruby. Although Eve often likes to check up on her friend, she has to be prepared to see her. She does not want to have to smile falsely at her and pretend that she is just an acquaintance.

Today, she just gets the books that she needs from her locker, and keeps her head down as she walks towards the room which hosts her class. Every time a group of popular girls passes her, she tenses up and almost freezes in place. She would do, if it were not for the impatient students starting to surround her as they head to their lessons. She reaches the door of her art room just as she hears the unmistakable laughter of Ruby sounding down the corridor, and quickly hurries inside. That’s another thing she can’t bear to see – her best friend being best friends with someone else.

Flustered, she stands by the door of the art room for a moment while she gathers herself together. She now lifts her head up to a normal level and pushes her hair out of her face, scanning the room for anyone she recognises that she can sit next to. Just as she starts panicking, she realises that she hadn’t at first realised Cher was there; her friend is lying with her head on the desk, thus rendering her to be slightly out of sight.

Eve strides over to her friend and chuckles as she sits down at the desk next to her. “Alright, Cher?” She asks, not finding it unusual to see her friend like this. They are teenagers, after all.

Once she is comfortably seated, Eve roots around in her bag and produces her drawing tools and sketch book that she will need for the lesson. She also finds a strawberry flavoured sweet – not naturally flavoured of course – at the bottom of her bag and pops it into her mouth. She likes eating strawberry flavoured things, given the fact that she is allergic to strawberries themselves. It is actually her preferred flavour, so she has to be careful when eating strawberry sweets and make sure that they don’t include any actual strawberries.

Eve flips through her sketchbook, trying to find a blank page, which is proving to be difficult. She likes using her sketchbook in her free time as well as in the lessons, and therefore it fills up faster. Page after page are filled with pencil drawings of what is mostly anime, but there is some actual classwork in there too. She tries not to let her eyes rest on the sketches that she makes in her free time; most of them either involve two happy best friends or one lonely and depressed girl. Though the situations in her pictures are sometimes extreme, they represent her feelings well.

Finally, she finds a new, clean page, and waits for the other members of the class to arrive so that they can get started.

Cher grinned up at her red headed friend, "I'm fine just a bit sleepy. I'm not sure why honestly.” Lazily, she stretched her thin arms in front of her and extended her fingers, in a manner most commonly seen on cats. She turned to continue their conversation but was silenced by the arrival of their teacher.

Eve nodded her reply, then looked up to see their teacher arriving. Sighing, she straightened up and picked up her pencil, tapping it quietly off her notebook while the teacher waited for the rest of the class to come to attention.

Their teacher glided into the room singing hellos as she passed students and, as usual, carrying a mountain of stuff that she probable didn't need. She was a beautiful woman, long pale blonde hair fell in wild curls framing her pale heart shaped face. Freckles scattered all over her body but were most prominent on the bridge of her small nose. Though her most beautiful feature had to be her eyes, they were a light brown color with gold flecks, shadowed by straight blonde lashes. The reason most people didn't notice her beauty was undoubtedly her mannerisms and her style. Today she wore a dress that stopped at her shins. It was light green and dotted with big yellow daisies; She wore it with red cowgirl boots.

"Hello, hello, hello class" She crooned loudly "Today we’re doing...." She paused to throw her arms in the air and throw her head back "Portraits" She paused in front of a student, Clarissa? Candice? Something with a C. The girl looked up from her phone wide eyed, like a deer caught in the headlights. Now she remembered her name was Carmen, some girls called her clutzy Carmen once.

The teacher continued "They can be of anyone or yourself. You can work with a partner or without." She twirled her way to the front of the class "My darlings this project is up to you," then she, like a star that just finished a performance took a grand bow "Begin!"

Eve flinched at her teachers dramatics and loudness. Sighing, she looked around the room to see if the rest of the class decided to draw themselves or someone else. Who could she draw? As her eyes wandered around the room, she stretched her legs out under her desk and accidentally bumped them gently against Cher's.

"Hey, Cher," she said, twisting sideways in her seat to face her friend properly, "maybe we should work together. It will be easier for us to draw each other opposed to drawing ourselves, right?"

Cher yawned one last time, "Yeah sounds good" She said causally. She grabbed her noteboook and supplies and set the in front of Eve before grabbing a chair and setting it on the opposite side. of the table. "Just don't make me look ugly or make my hair too big" She said with a wink. She pulled out her sketchbook and flipped to an empty page. "Do you think she's having sex and that's why she's so happy?" She asked, nodding her head in the teachers direction nonchalantly. A wicked smile played on her lips.

"Haha, maybe," Eve said, sketching a rough outline of Cher's wicked smile in the corner of her page before it left her face. "She's always a little dramatic though. And don't worry, I'll make you look fabulous," she added, chewing the tip of her pencil as she ran her eyes over Cher's features in thought. "Likewise to you. I don't want to look bad in your picture," she said round the pencil, a small, cheeky smile lighting up her features for a moment. Then she removed the pencil from her mouth, and started sketching.

Cher smirked "Wouldn't dream of it" She began drawing Eve's big brown eyes "And some guys like a wild girl in bed ya 'know." She giggled a little at the thought. She threw a glance back at their teacher and shook her head "She'd drive a man mad" She concluded with a chuckle.

"Ew!" Eve exclaimed as she sketched a rough outline of Cher's face shape. "Cher! Gross!" She scrunched up her nose in distaste as she carried on drawing, sketching Cher's facial features on the page.

Cher waggled her eyebrows suggestively before continuing her drawing.

A while later toward the end of class she placed her pencil on the desk and beamed a triumphant smile [color=#C160C3]"My masterwork is finished" She said haughtily.

They exchanged drawings, and were both delighted with what they saw. Now they would just have to add colour at a later time, and then they would be done. For now though, Drawing class was over.

Architectural Drawing and Design was, simply put, a nightmare. All Eve could hear was her classmates talking about the birthday party that Ruby was holding.

Ruby. The girl who is a year older than her and has left school, yet still sometimes comes in to see her “friends”.

Eve sighs and keeps her head down as she navigates the corridors again, her best friend’s laughter haunting her mind. It is a relief for her when she finally reaches Creative Writing. The class has more desks than it needs, and Eve likes to be alone in this lesson so that she can concentrate and keep up with the work. Therefore, even though she has some friends and acquaintances in this class, she chooses to sit alone at the back, in the corner, a couple of empty desks to her right and in front.

Today Eve wanders to her usual desk, plonks down her satchel on it, and takes a seat. It is a little hot in the room, so she rolls her jumper sleeves up, and her eyes rest on the colourful friendship bracelets that loop around her wrists. Even though no one knows who the heck gave them to her, Eve does.

The ignorant rubber things keep staring at her, and eventually she gives a low growl and rips all but one of them off. The most special, sterling silver bracelet, stays put. “Today, tomorrow, forever,” is what it reads, and it is the only thing that still rings true.
The rest of the class make their way in as Eve unpacks her notebook and pencil case, and throws her satchel to the floor. Once the teacher is satisfied that all the students have arrived, she begins her lesson.

Eve is half listening, half eating some chocolate digestives. It is so easy to get away with these things in Creative Writing. She checks her phone, then finally tunes in properly as the teacher starts writing the task up on the board. Eve puts her biscuits and phone away, and rummages around in her pencil case to find a decent pen while she waits for the task to get written up. The class lets out a slight sigh, and she returns her attention to the board again.

Monday 10th March 2014
Task: Write a descriptive piece of work describing your favourite location. It can be one small place, or a whole town or city. Maximum 25 marks.

Eve sighs too. She has never really thought about where her preferred location is. She presses the end of her pen to her lips and thinks for a bit, whilst all the other students start scribbling away. Eventually, she recalls visiting a summer fair in Cornwall, England whilst on holiday with her family, and decides to write about that. She describes the weather, the grass, the sky, the smell of doughnuts, the taste of candyfloss on her tongue, the hot guy by the Claw game. She makes sure to include varied punctuation, similes, metaphors, alliteration, the lot. But there is one thing that she has not yet described. The best thing of all.

I was yet to lay my eyes upon the best feature of the show grounds. As I walked away from the Claw machine and around the corner, past the sweet stand, a huge, circular object came into my vision. Shaped like a bandstand, it played twinkly music and had a revolving core. The base was candy floss pink and sky blue, decorated with carvings of hot pink ribbons and bouquets of flowers. The top was similarly designed, with the added features of tiny fairies flying among glittery hearts, and a huge, sloping roof with a sparkling star on top. Wooden creatures of elegance and power danced up and down golden poles as they twirled around the objects core, each and every one of them different and beautifully crafted. I had stumbled upon a carousel.

One creature, one horse, called out to me the most as the ride twirled around, delighted children squealing as they rode their horse of choice. It was the only horse to not have a rider on it, and it looked lost and forlorn, its painted black coat shimmering in the sun, its long, shaggy mane looking like it would flow out around it at any moment. It had golden hooves which sparkled, and eyes full of friendliness. Even though it was just a wooden object, I knew I had to ride on that horse. We were made for each other.

Eve grimaces as she scans her work over. That part is cheesy, but she doesn’t have the time to make any changes to it because the lesson has come to a close, and it is time to pack away. She packs up quickly, gives in her work, then leaves to go to Biology.

Biology isn’t much fun either – there is a class test, though luckily it is about pathogens, a topic that she finds interesting and therefore remembers more about. After that, she hurries off to her fifth period, and hopes that lunch will come quickly. She hasn’t spoken to many people all day; she has been working too hard.
