Artemisia of Caria
Age
Twenty-Five
Appearance and Build
In stature she falls in the middle of the spectrum not to be classified as being short or tall. She is 5'7 which usually makes her an inch or two taller than most woman but shorter the majority of men she comes into contact with. She has gorgeous hourglass shaped body fixed with a flat stomach, round hips and large natural breasts. Considering the fact that she is southern she is considerably pale in complexion. Her hair is long in length and is always worn straight, although she may style it different it times either sweeping it to the side, wearing it down or styling it in some other fashion. Gorgeously expressive blue-green eyes, Artemisia eyes can hold a man in a locked gaze of seduction or pierce his very soul with an icy stare of death.
What/ who they are?
Artemisia was once heir to the throne. She gave up her place in the line of succession choosing to protect and defend her empire over ruling it. Much to the dismay of her father. While she doesn’t rule over an empire she does command the naval fleet of the empire, and they have yet to lose a battle since she’s taking the helm on that front.
Where does she live?
The Empire of Caria is the place Artemisia calls home when she is not at sea with her men.
Alliances & Enemies
The Empire of Caria has been longtime allies of the Velilia Kingdom. They have known of the war raging in the North but up until now have stay out of it letting the Northerns work out their own issues. However, the death of the king has changed things for the Southerns. No longer willing to stand aside the empire has decided to take up arms and fight with their ally and it's ally’s allies to to help them defeat their enemies.
She is also headstrong and stubborn, even to a fault, refusing to walk away during suspicious activity or until the task at hand is completed. This sometimes reaches a point where she ignores even life-threatening injuries, such as when she is wounded in battle. If she can still wield a sword or fire an arrow she will stand and fight until her dying breathe. Her attitude stems from her mentality as a warrior, she is a loyal soldier of the empire and would rather die on the field of battle still in her prime than die swatting over her chamber pot an old prune.
Artemisia has a skewed , questionable sense of justice and an almost psychotically low level of empathy for others, seeing no ill in killing off an village to avenge the wrongs committed by a small group. When confronted by weaker opponents who could easily be simply incapacitated or avoided, Artemisia most often does not hesitate to kill them, showing no remorse for her actions afterward. She is completely cold to the numerous killings of she has committed, never showing any signs of guilt or remorse. In truth Artemisia is somewhat of a sadistic. She lives for those briefest of moments when she literally hold a person's life in her hands and then she get's to just rip it away. She doesn't feel guilt when she kills for it fills her with a sense of pleasure.
This is part is the reason why she refuses to rule over Caria. At the core of her being she knows who she is as a person and knows that not all people who have a right to rule are fit to do so. She knows that she is one of those people who while she has the power and right to rule she should never sit upon the throne. Commanding a navy fleet is one thing but an entire empire? It would crumble in her reign. She loves her home and her people far too much to allow herself to be it's downfall.
However, despite Artemisia's stony exterior, she is not entirely apathetic, as she tends to become distressed and vengeful when those she cares about are threatened, injured or killed. Decisive and intelligent, Artemisia is a superb tactician. Her deadly skill with a sword and accuracy with a bow and arrow makes her a lethal opponent and threat to any who would attempt to challenge her.
