Description

Da'Karro Misantri
Image
Age: 27

Appearance: 6'2" with dark brown hair, a scar runs across his left eye and the left side of his mouth. his eyes are a pale grey and his skin tanned from an outdoor life. Religious Tattoos adorn his back and shoulders, and down his left arm, his right arm is covered in ritualistic scars, while other scars dot his body from his time as a pit slave. He wears a dark grey hood over his leather armour, and his Kukri sword is sheathed across his lower back. His sword is sheathed in the cured skin of his first sacrifice to Ishka, he refuses to answer what that was. His left arm is sheathed in a ornate plate gauntlet he uses to deflect blade strikes and tear at flesh. He wears a black bandoleer and belt on which hang a number of pouches of varying contents. Around his neck hangs a silver pendant of Ishka, it takes the shape of the head of a beautiful woman, blindfolded with crossing pieces of cloth, her mouth curled into a smirk, her hair tied to seven points of an inverted crescent moon.
Image Image
Build: athletic and toned, but not overly muscular

Personality: When needed he can act as the situation requires, but otherwise, his mood can sway swiftly from playful child to murderous psychopath in an instant. He is a highly dangerous man with next to no regard for human life and revels in the pain and suffering of others, which he sees as a gift to Ishka, his patron Goddess. He follows the orders of the Chosen one of Ishka without question, and holds a strange affection for Clara Stark, otherwise known as Scarlet, whom he refers to as The Scarlet princess, or "Little Dove". He is completely devoted to his Goddess, and will not waver from the mission given to him by his visions.

Where they live: Nowhere, he is searching for the chosen one who will bring about his Goddesses ascension. Currently aboard The Pirate Captain Robyn Shevas ship, the Harbinger.

What/ who they are: Former Pit slave and child of Khalidor, Da'karro is a vicious fighter and sadistic cutthroat, and most surprisingly a fanatical devotee of the Goddess Ishka, whom he believes is giving him instruction.
Image ImageImage
History: He was born a slave and raised as a pit fighter, where he fought and killed for the amusement of his masters. He was eventually bought by a mysterious woman called the Lady Omaera, who at the time was a priestess of a Ishka. He was taken to her temple where he served her as her bodyguard, lover, and acolyte, until she ascended to the position of High Priestess. One day, while in the throes of a bloody, orgiastic sacrifice to Ishka, Da'Karro received an apparent vision from the Goddess, instructing him that she was to ascend unto the earth, and bring all under her benevolent rule, but that to do this, she would require a host. He was apparently told to seek out this chosen one, and protect her, so that when she was ready, Ishka could ascend into human form. He has dedicated his life to the task, and he will not fail his Goddess.
Image
Skills: Da'Karro is a vicious and brutal fighter, adept in the art of killing and maiming. He is also a Devotee of a Ishka, and in his time among them learnt many secrets of pleasure and pain, he is an expert courtesan and torturer alike, often blurring the lines between which is which. He is Sociopathic but will obey the orders of the chosen one, unless he believes their orders to be against the will of his Goddess.

So begins...

"Here,"[b] Da'Karro said, as he took the knife and came around her. [b]"Let me,"

With that, he reached around, both of his arms surrounding her, with her tucked neatly underneath him. "We can do it together."
He said and began cutting the peach into perfect slices, while Scarlet felt her temperature rise.

"When we arrive in Flea Bottom, I have to go ashore with Mr. Casey to facilitate the selling of the goods, we took. It shouldn't take long, but the Captain should not be leaving the ship. I want you to stay with her at all times when I'm gone, Okay? This is not a safe city for a pretty girl." He said and placed the knife down before his hands fell at her waist. Scarlet's sucked in a breath, turning her head to him. "A-aye." She whispered. "When I come back, I will take you out into the city if you want, We can go exploring, I'm sure there's many things you have never seen."

Scarlet's eyes found his at first before dropping to his lips for the briefest moment.

"I'd like that." She said, unable to bring her voice any higher, as her eyes found his again.

Her mind wandered for a moment, she wondered if he were to treat her, like he did the Captain on arrival. She wasn't sure if she were ready for that just yet but a kiss....just one small one....
She couldn't bring herself to ask him...Because it was his duty...much like the Count, she was something that was to be obtained. Surely, Da'Karro didn't think that way but what if she weren't the Chosen One.

Would he still be so kind?

"Mr. Da'Karro..." She said softly turning away. "I know it's your duty....to protect me but you don't have to...." She let out a shuddered breath. "Like with the Captain before....You don't have to..."

Damn her nerves, Why couldn't she say what she meant?

"I mean, I know what it's like to be forced into someone's arms...I was betrothed, it was arranged....What I mean is..." She looked up at him again. "You have a choice, If you want to choose another...That's entirely up to you..."She said, hoping, whatever this was, this closeness...She hoped it was of his own volition, and not something he felt he had to do.

"Mr. Da'Karro..." Scarlet said, turning away from him slightly "I know it's your duty....to protect me but you don't have to...." She said, her breath shaky and words unsure, "Like with the Captain before....You don't have to..." she trailed off, trying to find the right words to express what she was saying.
"I mean, I know what it's like to be forced into someone's arms...I was betrothed, it was arranged....What I mean is..." She looked up at him again. "You have a choice, If you want to choose another...That's entirely up to you..."
Da'Karro smiled at Scarlet, his grey eyes glinting with amusement and he chuckled quietly, "What was between me and the Captain, was not because she was the chosen one, it was because she was beautiful, and Ishka gave us our senses so that we may enjoy them." He lifted a hand, a stroked an errant lock of hair from her face to behind her ear, "I wanted the Captain then, because she was beautiful" He said, leaning in, "And I want you now, because you are so much more."
His lips touched her own, and he felt her tense at the touch, her lips like the softest rose petals, for form so small in his arms. "I will never leave her side," He told himself, "I will stand guard over her for eternity."

Da'Karro smiled down at her, chuckling. Subsequently making her feel small and childish.

"What was betweem me and the Captain, was not because she was the Chosen One. It was because she was beautiful, and Ishka gave us our senses so that we may enjoy them," He said and removed a stray hair from her face, causing her eyes to flutter. "I wanted the Captain then, because she was beautiful," He said, and he began moving closer. "And I want you now, because you are so much more..." He said and his lips captured hers.

Her body stiffened briefly before relaxing in his arms and his kiss.

Never before has a kiss ever graced her lips, she never wanted to, never had a reason to want to but now, if she died at the moment, she would have had no regrets.

Instinct seemed to take control of her now, and she twisted around, her lips never leaving his, as she wrapped her good arm around his neck, standing on her toes to deepen the kiss, her senses now alive with the new experience, she was almost feverish, in her want for more.

Da'Karro gently but firmly pulled away from Scarlet as she tried to escalate the situation, he smiled and chuckled at the clearly confused girl. "My my, Little Dove how impatient you are. Let it come slowly, savour it, you have many new things to experience, take your time with each, for only once can you can only experience something for the first time."
He bowed deeply to her and smiled, "Have no fear Little Dove, your lessons in Ishkas blessings will begin soon, you must be patient." And with that, he gave her a mischievous wink, and disappeared out the door.
He walked up to the main deck, lips tingling with sensation but his mind niggled with doubt. "Should I have done that? Is that what Ishka would have wanted? Someone so lost as me being this to the chosen one?"
His thoughts were interrupted as he ran into Casey on the deck, "Just the man I was looking for," Da'Karro said with a smile.
"Damn it," he thought "Ishka guide me, what should I do?"
"Is everything in order for the transaction?" He asked, mind completely disjointed from the task at hand.

Scarlet didn't know what happened when she was suddenly removed from Da'Karro's lips.

"My my, Little Dove, how impatient you are. Let it come slowly, savour it, you have many new things to experience, take your time with each, for only once can you experience something for the first time." He said with a bow. Scarlet frowned, her face flushed. She didn't understand...why not now? He had no hesitation with the Captain?

"Have no fear, Little Dove, your lessons in Ishka blessings will begin soon, you must be patient." He said and with a wink, he was gone and she already missed his warmth.

Her heart pounding loudly in her chest, she had to breathe deep a few times to keep her wits but she could still feel his lips on hers, his arms around her and all she wanted was to be back there again.

She needed help and she knew the perfect person to ask.

****

Casey looked up from his notepad and quill pen as Da'Karro approached him. "Just the man I was looking for,"
"Aye?"
"Is everything in order for the transaction?"
He asked but looked as if his mind elsewhere.

"Just going over that. Turns out, We'll be in Flea Bottom for a bit longer then expected. The ship needs a bit of maintenance and the Captain has decided to take--Oh Hello Scarlet" Casey looked over as Scarlet walked by quickly as if on a mission. "Hello." She said, and barely acknowledged Da'Karro as she made her way into the Captain's Quarters. Casey ignored it and carried on "Anyway, She decided to take Scarlet in to the city, she said something about clothes or something. Women. Anyway, So Yea. Turns out, that hull did us better then we expected. They had a hidden till in the back of the ship. Rathman found it, the clusmy fool, fell into a wall. Anyway, filled with their earnings, it was, We can h-het ship repaired, restock and still have plently left over for wages."He said with a chuckle. "Not bad a bad turn out for ye, Aye Quartermaster?" He said. "Between you and me, The Captain decided to pay young Scarlet for her cooking. Make her feel good about everything, welcome and all that, like part of the crew. But keep it to yourself, It's to be a surprise." He said with a smirk. He really did like the kid, it was hard not to. She was becoming like a kid sister to him and the crew seemed to less predatoral towards her now too.

"Oh, and later, there's going to be a bit of merry making, you should come." He said. "It'll lessen the tension around here."

~Inside the Captain's Quarters~

Robyn sat at her desk, as Scarlet knocked. "Enter." She said noticed immediately, Scarlet's face was red and flushed. "What's the matter?"

"Do you think I'm pretty?"

"What?" Robyn was thoroughly lost. "Me, Am I pretty?"

"Why, dare I ask?"

"It's well... Mr. Da'Karro...seems...I don't know. One moment, I feel I know what he's thinking, feeling, then the next he's gone and I'm stuck completely baffled."

Robyn sighed, with her hand on her face. "Sink me..." She sighed. "To start. Let the man come to you, let him guess what you are thinking, and don't be transparent." Robyn said. "or Impatient," She added and Scarlet sighed, realizing her haste.

"So how will I know?"

"Like I said, He'll come to you."

"Oh, and later, there's going to be a bit of merry making, you should come." Casey said as he finished his report, "It'll lessen the tension around here."
Da'Karro looked at Casey and just laughed, Casey didnt know much about Ishka, but he would have thought it seemed obvious, "I don't really drink," Da'Karro said, raising his hands in a mock shrug, "It is against Ishka's teachings to dull the senses, I have tried it once or twice, and usually find I dislike having my skills and senses dulled."
He turned to walk away, "Besides, I doubt the men will be able to relax and enjoy themselves with me looming over their shoulders. I will stay behind and watch the Ship, or maybe take Scarlet out to see the city at night."

"I don't really drink," Da'Karro said after having a good laugh. "It is against Ishka's teachings to dull the senses, I have tried it once or twice, and usually find I dislike having my skills and senses dulled." He said and Casey nodded. "Ah I see, My apologies." He said. He wasn't all that big on religion but he didn't mind people that did. It gave them something to believe in, who was he to judge? "Besides, I doubt the men will be able to relax and enjoy themselves with me looming over their shoulders. I will stay behind and watch the Ship, or maybe take Scarlet out to see the city at night."
He said and turned to walk away. Casey shrugged. "Very well then, But you more then welcome to join if you change your mind." He said and got back to work.
*****

Robyn looked at Scarlet who sat on her bed, running her fingers over the bejeweled mirror. She'd been sitting there for a while, her mind miles away.

"Captain, What's it like to fall in love." She asked suddenly.

Robyn frowned. "I'll let you know when it happens."

Scarlet looked up. "You've never been in love?"

"No, Been too busy trying to survive,"

"But what about Mr. Casey. He's lovable and he's in love with you."

Robyn rolled her eyes but didn't answer.

"He's handsome, real handsome, like he could be a Prince or something."

Robyn again was quiet. She knew all this but she hadn't the time.

"We're going into town." She said, changing the subject. Scarlet smiled. "Mr. Da'Karro said he'd take me."

"Not for leisure, Lass, For your lessons. You need to learn to use you beauty. It seems like a disadvantage in the Pirate World but in fact, it's your best asset." Robyn said and Scarlet smiled at the thought. "Really?"
"Aye, I'll teach you to trick any man into giving you that he's got, and steal what's left." She said with a wicked grin. Scarlet smiled. "When do we start?"
"Stand up," Robyn said and Scarlet scrambled out of bed.

"Firstly, Everything you were taught in Court, Remove it from your mind. It will not help you here." She said and Scarlet nodded but wasn't sure how to do that. "First, your walk. You walk like a perfect Lady, with you hands in front of you, your back straight as a pin." She said and Scarlet smiled. "Oh Thank yo-" She was met with a light smack to the head. "No," Robyn said. "That'll get you robbed." She said. "You have to walk as if you control the room." She said, and Robyn strolled across the cabin, her head held high, her posture relaxed yet confident as if the world was hers.

"Try." She said and Scarlet tried, she walked, her head high, but her eyes on the ground. "Do your feet not work unless you look at them?" Robyn asked. Scarlet frowned "I'm sorry, I don't want to trip."

"You won't, You know your destination and walk to it." She said, and Scarlet tried again her stride was good but her hands were still placed delicately in front of her.

"No, hands at your side, as if you were alone in your room, you have no one telling you want to do, where to go. Walk as if you have control of your own body." She said and that did it for Scarlet. She strolled across the room, her head high as if it belonged to her.

"Well done, Now, When you see your target, walk to him, just like that and he'll want to know more." She said and Scarlet nodded.
"Now, Pay heed to your eyes, when you approach, flirt with them, as if you are offering something, and make sure to smile, ever so slightly. " She said and demonstrated, her eyes liddened some, her head rise some and a small thin smile on her lips. "This will make him curious as to what is on your mind, even if you haven't said a word." She said and Scarlet tried, but it was more of a squint then anything. "No, Think of Da'Karro when you do it."

Scarlet blushed then, Of course, the Captain knew what her questions were all about. She was the Captain, nothing got passed her.

Scarlet thought of Da'Karro, she thought of asking him for a kiss. Her eyes grew more confident, less wide eyed and more mischeivous,
Robyn was impressed. "Well Done... Now when you speak, Speak slowly, clearly, Keep your voice even," She said. "No matter what you say. Now, Ask me if I'd like a drink?"

Scarlet nodded. "Would you like a drink?"

Robyn smiled, "Of course, I would." She said and Scarlet understood and tried. "Would you like a drink?" she said, her voice smooth as silk. "Well done, Very well done."

They practiced until sun down, and it was time for Scarlet to prepare dinner,
"The most important thing is that when you choose your target you know exactly what you are getting in to. Know your target, study him before you approach, that was something I learned the hard way." She said and Scarlet nodded.
Scarlet toward the Kitchen, using her new more confident stride. She wanted to test her new skills and she knew just the person to test them on.

"Mr. Da'Karro." She said when she saw him, her eyes cat li. "What would you like for dinner?"

Da'Karro sat on the edge of railing, watching the ships sail in as the sun set over the water. He ran his sharpening knife along the edge of his Kukri, the repetitive motion soothing his fraying nerves. "Goddess," He prayed silently, "Please give me guidance, I feel I am lost." He looked up into the starring sky, looking for a sign, "Ishka, I have found your chosen one, but I am lost as how to deliver her," He whispered at the stars, "She has so far to go, but I know not which way to travel. Please, Ishka, I am begging for your guidance." He sat and waited, looking up at the stars shining above him, but received no response to his prayer.
"Mr. Da'Karro." Scarlet said from behind him, and for possibly the first time ever, he hadnt heard her approuch, "What would you like for dinner?"
He turned and looked at her, glancing up and down at the way she was standing, and sighed before replying, "What has that devil woman been teaching you?"

"She's only teaching me what you said I'd learn," Scarlet said, leaning against the railing and looking at him with eyes that burned with assertiveness.
"My my," Da'Karro thought, looking at his Little Dove with curious eyes, "She's a quick study."
"How to take what I want," She said and leaned a bit closer. "And right now, I want a kiss." She quickly darted in and pecked Da'Karro on the lips. He probably could have dodged it if he wanted to. He didnt.
"She didn't teach me that, by the way." She said and poked his shoulder with an outstretched finger "You did." She said smiling. "But she did teach me how to take this." She said and opened her hand, revealing an ornate little dagger, "Sorry. I had to try." She said apologetically, her eyes turning away, before looking back at him. "Don't be angry, This way, I won't be a victim, I'll have the advantage, and with your teachings, I'll be able to use what I learn from her properly," She said, matter of factly.
Da'Karro was too preoccupied looking at the dagger in her hands. He looked up at her, back at the dagger, then back at her, before looking about his person.
"Scarlet," he said oddly, "I don't own a dagger. Where did you get that from? Who's dagger is that?"

"Being able to steal something effectively is a useful skill," Da'Karro said, placing a hand on her shoulder, "To be used when it is necessary. It is beneath you to steal something because you can." Da'Karro smiled, and leant down to her hight, "Now go and give the dagger back, and I'll take you into town, and I will buy you your own." He leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Maybe We could start our lessons when we get back."

Da'Karro laughed and let himself be pulled along behind Scarlet, "She's trying so hard to be a woman, she doesn't see the beauty of the girl she is."
"You know," He chuckled, "You don't have to act like the Captain to be a woman. Theres nothing wrong with you being yourself." He stopped and effortlessly pulled Scarlet back into his arms, "Save your acting for others, I don't need to to be anyone else but yourself." He held her close and ran his fingers through her dark hair, his eyes connecting with her dark chocolate eyes, he pressed his head into her shoulder and gently kissed her neck. He ran his other hand along her side and hip, before embracing her tightly and lightly nibbling her neck.

Da'Karro pressed back against Scarlets lips, his hands running down her body, feeling her subtle curves and soft skin with his hands, his blood soaked, killers hands.
He pulled back suddenly, his fists clenched in restraint by his side, "Damnit," He thought, eyes looking away, "Ishka, I am not worthy of this task, one who has strayed so far from your path."
"Im sorry," he said looking at the confused and clearly hurt Scarlet, "This isn't the time or place for this. I am sorry, you are Ishka's chosen and I cannot just take this from you, not here, not now, not like this."
He looked away and slammed his gauntleted fist into the wall, before stalking off, his eyes ablaze with doubt and confusion.

Da'Karro, tried and failed to ignore Scarlets rant at him, "She doesnt understand," He told himself, deftly dodging a thrown bottle, "Why cant she see that im doing this because I love her."
She continued to scream at him and it was all Da'KArro could do not to scream back, but he bit his tongue and took the abuse, "This isnt her fault, she doesnt understand, she doesnt see, this isnt her fault."
"All I am, is the Goddess's chosen....Your duty....Your mission....Fine!" She yelled at him, before walking off towards the kitchen, "Atleast I know where I stand!" and with that she slammed the door, the noise echoing through the ship.
"Damn it..." Da'KArro thought, fists clenched at his side, "Why, why now, what did I do wrong. Ishka please..."
"What's all this then?" A voice from behind him, and his rage flourished as he turned to the Captain, "What did you do?"
"You..." He growled, drawing his Kukri from behind his back, "This is your doing, what have you done, what did you do Witch!" He roared as he flew at Robyn, his blade slashing viciously at the Captain who narrowly avoided his furious slashes. "What did you do to her!"

Da'Karro was silent, his hands clasped behind his back. He had let his emotions get the better of him, they still roiled within him. He would have to find release soon before he lashed out again at the nearest person, regardless of who that was. He looked up at the Captain, his eyes like cold steel, "You were raised in a brothel." He said, motionless but for his eyes. "I'm guessing you were bought, raped and tortured, im guessing you were young when it happened."
He closed his eyes and relived his memory, "I was ten when I was sold to the arena, I was thirteen when I first killed. I was a man before I saw my freedom." He looked at Robyn and then towards the door.
"She was kept in a castle, forced into womanhood and traded like a coin to a man she didnt love. We have all had our childhoods stolen from us."
He looked back at Robyn, "She has the chance to gain back just a little piece of it. She doesnt have to grow up, she doesnt have to be like us. Not yet."
He turned and walked out of the Cabin, heading towards the gangplank. He walked off the ship and disappeared into the city, his rage burning like a beacon. Someone was going to die tonight, and he was going to make them scream.

Da'Karro stalked through the city, disappearing off the ship as soon as they made harbour. He was angry, he was furious, and he didnt even know why. Why couldnt she understand? He was trying to protect her, from everyone, including himself. He regretted lashing out at the Captain, it was stupid, she had only taught Scarlet skills that she would need. Skills she had then used on him. "Maybe thats what it is," he thought as he weaved his way down the narrow streets and alleys, "That she felt she had to use such tricks to get my attention," His pace increased as his anger flared anew "That she felt she had to do anything to make me want her, to make me love her." His Gauntlet clenched into a fist and his sword hand gripped the pommel of his Kukri.
He rounded a corner and arrived at his destination, the unassuming door that the dockhand had described. A plain wooden door with a red skull painted in the top corner. He pushed it open and inside sat a man with arms like tree trunks, his head short and squat, and a large scar ran from his temple to his cheek. He took one look at Da'Karro and nodded, letting him down a narrow flight of stairs. As he neared the bottom, the sounds of men shouting and cheering wafted up to him. He entered a large underground room, the smell of sweat, beer and blood assaulting his senses, down in the ring, two men grappled with each other, each one stripped down to his breeches and barefoot. men around the edges drank and bet on which fighter would win, the room was packed, with men and women, the men in various levels of wealth, the women all decked in low cut dresses and too much make up.
Around the back of the room sat a man at a table with a long quill and ream of parchment.
Da'Karro smiled, easily spotting the Ringmaster in the sea of people. He approached the man and the man didnt say a word at first finishing whatever it was he was writing before adressing him without looking up.
"And what can I do for you, young man?"
Da'Karro's dead eyes accompanied a smile as devoid of joy as a corpse.
"I want to fight."

Da'Karro stood in the centre of the ring, his Kukri in hand as he watched the four other men encircle him. They were all seasoned fighters, scars riddling their bodies, each armed with one vicious weapon or other. It was exactly like it had been in the pit, except these men were here for the gold, and the glory, not because they were slaves.
Da'Karro was here because he could still feel the chains around his neck.
The first man was swarthy skinned and of middle age, a long scar running from his forehead to his chin, bisecting one of his eyes, which was covered in a leather patch, he held a large, broad bladed scimitar in his hands, and looked like he knew how to use it.
The second man was large, built heavily and then muscled on top. he was bald save for a long moustache and beard, which were braided into tight strands. He had a shield and a large hammer, its head already stained with blood.
The third was a smaller man, two long daggers held in his hands as he twirled them around, his hair spiked with some sort of glue.
The last man was squat but broad, his shoulders rounded like cannonballs around a head that seemed to possess no neck. He had a messy mop of brown hair and an absurdly large nose. His hands were clad in gauntlets that each had a foot long blade attached to the back.
The four slowly circled him, like a pack of wolves around a wounded deer. Only, he wasn't the prey, they were. The bell rang and the four men charged. Da'Karro just smiled, his Kukri dancing like fire, as he parried scarfaces blow and ducked under a wild swing from baldy. Big-nose came hurtling at him and made a vicious lunge, his punch dagger narrowly missing Da'Karro as he deflected the blow with his gauntlet. Suddenly Shorty was behind him and a quick lunge saw Da'Karros just too slow dodge open up his flank, spilling blood onto the sand. The crowd roared as first blood was spilt and a stream of bets and barters were taken and the fight continued.
Da'Karro knew he couldn't match baldy or big nose for raw power, but he could dodge them, Scarface was skilled but his broad bladed scimitar made him slow and unable to block effectively. Shorty was the real issue as he wouldn't take on Da'Karro openly, but could strike while the others preoccupied him. He was the real killer of the group, the one who was most likely to put Da'Karro in the ground. "As we have already seen." Da'Karro thought, wincing at the pain in his side. He needed to eliminate short first, then he could deal with the others. but was always hidden, blocked by his larger compatriots.
"No matter..." He said under his breath and charged.
He swung at Baldy, who blocked with his shield and prepared to strike, planning on catching Da'Karro while his sword was stuck in the wood. At the last moment Da'Karro pulled the blow and dropped, using his momentum to carry him through the giants legs. Scarface came down with a vicious slash Da'Karro blocked from the ground with his Kukri, deflecting the sword to the ground before rising with a spinning elbow to the jaw. Now all that stood between him and shorty was big nose. The man screamed a incoherent battle cry and charged punching wildly with his bladed fists. the man was clearly a brawler, and fought with the blades like he would fight with fists, he didn't know how to use them effectively. Da'Karro caught one of the blades with his Kukri and batted it aside, catching big nose unaware, and moving in with a hard punch to his solar plexus making the man double over. True to form, shorty was right there in Da'Karros blind spot, but this time, he was ready. Another eviscerating stab would have opened him up but Da'Karro deftly caught the mans wrist and impaled the surprised shorty up to the hilt of Kukri, the the man to splutter blood in disbelief.
Da'Karro pulled out his sword and turned to the remaining three, who had recovered form his assault. He grinned "One sheep down, three to go."
The men charged him but they had lost their secret weapon and they knew it, and were unsure as how to proceed. Big nose was clearly the thickest and was the first to attack, but he was still winded and his blows were half assed and ineffective. Da'Karro battered aside a blow fro big nose with his gauntlet and spun, his sword sailing through the air to sever the back of Big noses skull from his face. Next came Scarface, slashing wildly with vicious swipes, but Da'Karros blow to the nose earlier had blurred his vision and he failed to notice Da'Karros claws reaching inside his reach and swiping at his wrist, opening up the soft tissue and spraying blood everywhere. To his credit the man managed to keep a hold of his sword but couldn't keep it up as Da'Karro beat it from his hand and put his fingers through the mans throat. Only Baldy was left and he circled Da'Karro cautiously, shield raised and hammer at the ready, but he knew he couldn't win, he wasn't fast or skilled enough to counter the flurry of blows Da'Karro launched at him. He attempted a wild swing to make Da'Karro back off but he anticipated the move. He swung under the swing and spun, his Kukri coming down in a vicious arc to sever the hammer hand at the wrist. The man roared in pain but was silences to a gurgle as Da'Karro opened up his throat.
The crowd was silent, having just watched their prize fighters slaughtered like cattle, before they erupted in boos and cheers. men came into the pit to drag out the bodies but Da'Karro just stood there in the blood. He looked up at the roof, and screamed with barely contained rage. "Is this what you wanted Ishka? Was this your plan? To have me born, raised and die, surrounded by death, to be scorned by your blessings and cursed with your love? Why Ishka?! WHY WONT YOU SPEAK TO ME!?!"
He looked down and into the crowds, and standing in the crowd, was Scarlet, her eyes terrified and her hands to her mouth. Around her was the arm of a tall, handsome man, laughing and cheering along with the rest of them, his hand resting on Scarlets hips, the hips he had held. The hips he had scorned.
He raised his blood soaked Kukri and pointed at the man around Scarlet, "You!" He cried over the crowds, his blood boiling anew and numbing the concerning amount of pain in his side, "I challenge you!"

Scarlet watched in horror, as Da'Karro viciously torn those fighters apart. They probably didn't expect such a violent end. All of this was personal for Da'Karro...all because of her.
"Is this what you wanted Ishka? Was this your plan? To have me born, raised and die, surrounded by death. to be scorned by your blessings and cursed with your love? Why Ishka?! WHY WON'T YOU SPEAK TO ME?!"
Covered in blood, Da'Karro, roared into the sky, leaving Scarlet shaking, watching the man she thought she loved behaving this way.

Before she could dismiss the killings on the ship, they had a purpose but now....he just wanted to kill.

Scarlet couldn't bring herself to move, shaking, her eyes wide with fear and disappointment, her hands covering her mouth.

Suddenly, Da'Karro's eyes fell directly on her, and she felt as she had in the beginning...as if at any moment, he'd snap her neck like a twig.

"You!" Da'Karro said, pointing in her direction. Fear struck her still. "I challenge you."

He was going to kill her...he wanted to kill her....

"Me?!" Vance cheered, Scarlet's having completely forgotten he was there. "Aye then." He said and he riled up the crowd. Scarlet shook her head, she saw what Da'Karro was doing...

"Vance, he's going to kill you." Scarlet warned him reaching around him to give him back his dagger, that he didn't even know was missing, Vance just laughed, and took her hands. "Don't you worry, Doll, I'll take his head just for you." He said and Scarlet's eyes began to water. "You don't understand...Please, let's just go, I don't want you to get hurt." "Oh, How sweet you are...Don't you worry, Love, I'll be back before you know it," He said and pressed a kiss to her hands before letting go and walking down to the arena. Scarlet looked at Da'Karro, 'Don't....Please' her lips mouthed but somehow she knew he was far from reason.

Vance looked at Scarlet and blew her a kiss before preparing himself for the fight

The poor man wasn't even aware thay he was not going to come out of this alive.

Scarlet....all she could do is watch, shaking, and crying.

The man jumped down into the arena, to the roaring approval of the crowds. Da'Karro could only see red, His vison blurred by the incoherant fury flowing through him. This was what he deserved. "This is all I have ever been, I was a fool to think anything else, that I might have a purpose, that I might have destiny, that I might have someone watching over me. I was alone then, and Im alone now."
"Come at it then stranger!" The man called, drawing a short sword and a dagger, "Lets see what you've got."
Da'Karro stood impassively, watching the mans footsteps, he was a fighter, and an experienced one, the way he stood, held his swords, moved his feet. This man knew how to fight, really knew.
The prospect made him smile.
"Well, are you gonna move strang-" The man started but Da'Karro didn't let him finish, Da'Karro was on him faster than the man could see, his sword flashing with dazzling speed. The man parried with his dagger and made to strike with his sword but Da'Karro was no longer human. His body spun with the force of a hurricane and his sword came crashing down like great ocean waves, it was all the man could do to block and parry Da'Karros vicious strikes. Da'Karro could see the look in the mans eyes, fear, he had thought Da'KArro tired and wounded, but he had just been warming up. The man made a desperate gambit and swept wide with his sword. Da'Karro feinted back before snapping back in with the blunt back of his Kukri. There was an audible crack and the mans forearm bent at an unnatural angle, forcing him to drop his sword with a cry. Da'Karro deftly snatch the sword from the air and spun, slamming the pommel of his Kukri into the mans forehead. He dropped with a groan, his dagger thrown from his grasp as he struggled to remain concious. Da'Karro gave him no quarter, Slamming both blades down into the moaning mans forearms, eliciting a blood curdling scream from him. The mans arms pinned to the sand, Da'Karro fetched the dagger from the ground nearby, ignoring his opponents fevered cries for mercy. He returned, his eyes like granite to the screaming, crying man. He knelt over the man, and using the sharp little knife, began flaying the skin off the mans chest. The man screamed, and was now the only voice in the arena, the crowd growing silent in shock. They were used to death, they revelled in it, but this, this was so much worse. None dared to anything, lest they incur the terrifying mans ire, and end up in the same position as the one on the ground, who continued to scream as the skin on his chest was removed, and Da'Karro started on the man face. To his credit, Da'Karros prey lasted until he had finished removing the skin from his face, his appearance now resembling a freakish bloody skeleton, before dying from the shock and pain. Da'Karro rose and retrieved his sword, hacking open, the mans ribcage with two swift chops. Using his gauntlet he tore open the mans chest, and seized his bloody, dying heart. Da'Karro sheathed his Kukri and lightly picked up the mans dagger. He made is way up a lader on the side of the Arena, and into the crowds, who parted for him silently. He made his way to Scarlet, who could only stand there, face like a ghost and eyes bleary with tears.
Da'Karro approached he silently, till he stood a bare foot away. "You want so badly to be an adult?" He said, his voice devoid of any emotion or tone. Dead like the grey of his eyes. He raised the dead mans heart and impaled it on the dagger, "Then welcome to our world." And he embedded the dagger into the wooden pylon beside Scarlets head, the bleeding heart still dripping blood down onto the floor, and now, Scarlets shoulder. "Your new Dagger, Stark." And he walked past her, the crowd parting like a silent sea.

Scarlet watched in horror, as Da'Karro devilishly tore the man asunder.

"Please stop..." she whispered, as she stood there, watching wishing he would stop but he wouldn't. He kept at him, out of spite, tearing of the skin

He knew she was watching.

"Please... Da'Karro stop..."

Da'Karro then preceded to crave Vance's heart from his chest. Still beating in his hand, he approached her.

Scarlet whimpered pitifully as he loomed over her. "You want so badly to be an adult?" He said, his voice, lifeless he then slammed the Vance's dagger into his heart. "Then welcome to our world." He said and plundged the dagger into the piller behihd her head. Blood splashing into her hair and on her face and dripping down her shoulder. Her face went pale as she looked at him. "Your new Dagger, Stark." He said and walked away. Scarlet collapsed as a few patrons crowded around her to see if she were alright.

"He did know my name..."

It didn't matter, that man was not the Da'Karro from the ship, whose kiss was so soft, his touch was warm.

This man....he was cold...like death.

"Come, Lass, On your feet." said a heavy set woman with her hair in a bun. Scarlet allowed herself to be lifted up and lead out of the arena.
The lady was an innkeeper, her Inn wasn't very full but enough. A few men were laughing with a few whores but nothing to lively.

"I'm sorry about your beau, Lass. Here, It's on the house." She said softly, as she passed her a small cup of hot rum. "I asked him not to...begged him..." Scarlet breathed, she was actually was talking about Da'Karro. "I saw, Lass, that's a man's pride for ya...Can't see reason...Didn't deserve that though...That man..."

"That wasn't a man. That a monster." Scarlet said and started sobbing against the bartop. "Oh there, there." the Innkeeper said, rubbing her back. "Drink up, It'll warm ya up." She said and Scarlet rose the glass to her lips. The rum was sweet, hot and almost immediately numbing.

She knocked it back quickly, the Innkeeper decided, she'd let her have a bottle or two after the terror she'd witnessed.

It wasn't long before Scarlet emptied both bottles into her gullet. Her eyes were lidded, as her head on the bar top, barely focused.

It was then a group of men entered.
"Mum!"

"Billy! There you are! I was wonderin' when you show your handsome face." said the Innkeeper as she came around the bar. Scarlet looked over at him, and Casey's eyes widened. "Poor lass just watched a man have his heart ripped right out of his chest. Poor thing..." The innkeeper tsked. Casey rushed over, knelling in front of her. "Scarlet," He said but she barely responded. "I'm taking you back to the ship."
"No!!" She shrieked, horrified. Casey jumped some. "What, why not?"

"Da'Karro, he'll be-" Then it struck him what his mother said, he noticed the blood on her dress. "He did this..." He asked and Scarlet bursted into tears, on to Casey's shoulder.
"Sorry, Mum, I have to take her home, Tell the girls I said hello." He said and carried Scarlet back to the ship.
*****

Robyn's head spun as she walked through the city. Her hands were shaking, her vision a bit blurred. She didn't understand it but she couldn't think about that now, she had to find Scarlet.

She looked up to find Da'Karro walking about like a ghost. "Thank the stars. Scarlet is missing, Have you see-" Robyn stopped when her vision cleared and noticed him covered in blood, and his face was dead. "What happened to you?" She asked, actually concerned.

Da'Karro drifted through the streets like a phantom, barely registering to himself or others that he existed at all. Blood still dripped from his gauntlet and sword, and the splattering of blood still adorned his armour and face. He felt numb. Like the world had faded away into a blurry, grey haze. He could feel nothing, sounds came to him muffled like as if from far way, all he could smell and taste was death, and his sight was unfocused and blank, showing him nothing but vague shapes and dark outlines.
Even his mind was blank, devoid of all colour, life, thought. All that seemed to remain was the inky black void inside him, and the bright red blood on his hands.
A sound wafted in, somehow stronger than the others, but still he could make out no words, something swam into his vision, something red, and the sounds became louder.
"What happened to you?" A voice said, penetrating the haze. That voice... he... knew that voice...
Robyn Sheva hazily swam into his vision, and she had to hold him to prevent him falling over.
"What... Happened... to...Me?" He repeated back to her, the words falling from his mouth like ill fitted bricks.
Who... was he? He couldn't feel anything. He couldn't think of anything. He couldn't see anything.
Finally, a word surfaced through the mire of grey fog clouding his thoughts, and it was the only thing he could hold on to, the only thing that had significance..
"Scarlet..."
