"You could be a little more gentle." He said grudgingly. He would have liked to at least have gotten her name before he had to attend to his duty. His sister rolled her eyes and urged him to the stage. "We'll talk later." She mouthed. He shook his head, she meant well, and he knew without her urging, he would probably skip most of the things expected of him. He made his way onto the stage and greeted Kings Takumi and Alexander, who had already revealed themselves, with a bow. He then took off his mask to reveal his face as the King of Duskin. Smile, he thought, remember to smile at the crowd. And he did, appearing for all the congregation that he was happy to be there. And, knowing there was someone here who seemed like him, and who he would actually probably enjoy dancing with, he realized that he was in fact having fun.
Sidhe felt power coursing through her as the clock striked midnight. It was time. She began to speak the words of the spell to conjure the dark shield with her sisters. She also had to work to keep her other powers under control, especially the bad luck, which she will let go rampant after. Chaos will ensure tonight, she knew.
Adara watched him being drawn away from her, looking on curiously. Through the ground - though it was barely made of Earth - she felt the two nearing the front of the crowd. After a few moments she saw him move toward the stage, and in seconds come to stand atop it, right beside the other kings.
She realized why he had felt the need to ask her to dance before - and why he traveled so often. How odd. . . she thought inquiringly. He's a king.
He hadn't seemed like one. Most were overly charming, and reveled in the attention offered from being a king. But this man that she had been with. . . he was rather quiet, and he had told her before that he enjoyed spending time in the gardens of the places he went - much more than being with people he was supposed to be with.
As Adara understood that she - a rather wild, anti-social girl - had just spent the last of a long evening with a king - well, it made her want to laugh. How ignorant she could be sometimes! She looked up in time to see him remove his mask and laughed quietly under her breath, a slight smile playing around her lips.
A king. . . Who would have thought. . .

Reyne stood with her mask hanging loosely from her ears.
It was time.
Bringing her arms up at her sides, she held her hands, palms up, and began chanting the dark spell that wast o cast the barrier around the kings. There was only one missing now. She stood near the front of the crowd, just covered by enough people to hide the low words she spoke. Soon. . . soon it would time - time to release the magick that she held inside her - just waiting to erupt. The magnitude of their magick together would be incredible.
And Reyne couldn't wait to watch the chaos that ensued.
[[I apologize for my horrid writing, guys! Not much going on in this head of mine. . .]]

He was looking at her again and Leena wondered if he was going to ask her to dance for the final dance. It was one thing to dance in private, but when a lot of people would be looking at her, it was unnerving. She hoped she wouldn't make a fool of herself. Then again, maybe he would pick someone else, but that was wishful thinking. Suddenly, she could feel her mark start to warm up and it made her uneasy. Something was going to happen, she was sure of it. Looking at Alexander and then Takumi, she wondered if they were involved. The idea of anything happening to her cousin terrified her and now if something happened to Alexander, it did not sit well with her. It was unsettling too, how she felt that way about him in the span of a couple hours.
Amaris saw the twins get into position. Now all they needed was Misu. Where was that girl? She was probably the laziest out of them. She kept her patience though.

"Yes, my dear, we would not want to miss this." He agreed, rising from his spot on the bench. Waiting to make sure he was not leaving her behind, Melchor walked back inside, unable to keep his feet from dragging slightly behind him. There was so much he did not know about this girl, but she had captivated his eyes. He would be able to look at no other tonight. He came to the realization that he did not want her to know he was king.
Once inside, Melchor quickened his pace slightly, leaving her behind. He had been slow to enter, he would do well to not leave a bad impression. Slipping through the crowd, he got up alongside the other kings, his mask long since discarded. Trying to cover for his tardiness, he was sure to make his expression shine; his teeth showing as he grinned widely. His eyes sought out none other than the girl from the garden, searching for her reaction.

Inside, his figure disappeared in the ocean of bodies, his golden eyes no longer in sight. Her lips parted for a second, but it was a slight movement, a small shock she quickly recovered from.
With one last look at the space she had last seen him in, now replaced by yet more strangers, because that's what he was, Papillion turned around, her fingers wrapping around the black silk strings that kept hold on the mask. She pulled and the bow gave in easily. With a gentle, quick move, she removed the mask that covered and decorated her face. Taking one Last glance behind her, one that took no more than a second, she was yet again unable to find him.
Around her, the mask no longer hid the faces behind her. Her eyes closed for a second, it was too much for her to take in. It wasn't that she was scared or that she hated packed-up places, it was just not a favorite of hers. For a second, she pondered if the right thing to do was look for him. Maybe he had someone to look for. In a way, it saddened her, but he was the one who parted after all.

Seeing all kings were in the front, Amaris gave the signal.
~Now.~
That instant, she and her sisters stepped towards the kings and she murmured the last few words of the spell that created the shield. It couldn't be seen, but if anyone tried getting through it, they would find themselves being pushed back. Right now the only ones inside the shield was the sorceresses and the kings. With a smile plastered on her face, Amaris removed her mask.
"Good evening your majesties. Forgive us for the interruption, but my sisters and I wanted to personally introduce ourselves. We also have some business to talk. First let me introduce myself. My name is Amaris Corea of Ordrin and these are my younger sisters, Sidhe, Reyne, and Misu. Our father was friends your parents and they asked him for a favor. I am sure you know about the threat of the kingdoms of Ordrin and Grendel invading the four kingdoms here. Well, they asked our father to stop it and he did. He asked for a favor in return one day and they gave their word. Well, he wants that favor now and we're here to carry it out. He requests that their sons marry us, his daughters. So there's no need for you four to look for potential brides, because you're looking at them. Now will you honor your parents' promise or not? If you don't, there will be consequences. Believe me, it's really not such a bad request and our kingdoms will be aligned in peace." she replied, keeping her smile in place.
The instant the four sorceresses came forward, Leena tried to go forward only to walk straight into the shield, which knocked her back. Taking off her mask, she got up on her feet and came forward, pushing on the shield and trying to get through it.
"Cousin!!!" she shouted.
No this was not good. Fear swelled in her heart and she wondered where Ryu was.
Unfortunately for Leena, Dolman was going to make sure Ryu was out of commission for the time being. The instant the shield went up, he murmured a few words of his own and in that instant, the guides and Ryu vanish through a dark portal and fall through it before landing in a dark area. There was some light but it was erratic lighting like never seemed to be coming from one place. ((Think of fade lights coming off and on in random places))
Soon a dark figure comes towards the group.
"Greetings young ones. I am sorry for the interruption, but I can't have you 5 interrupting a meeting between my girls and the kings." he said pleasantly.
((Now, Dolman is covered in a black cloak so they can't see him. Players with the guides, remember what we talked about okay? Enjoy everyone!))

Lavilev was about halfway through praying when he felt himself become seemingly weightless. after a few seconds, he felt ground beneath him again. He never stopped praying, and was in the same kneeling position now, than he was before. He started to pray a bit faster. there was only one thing that could stop him from finishing, and it was wrapped in a special chainmail on his back. it was safe. "Greetings young ones. I am sorry for the interruption, but I can't have you 5 interrupting a meeting between my girls and the kings." sensing that they were in danger, ans soon as he finished his current prayer, he shouted, "Baruch atah, Adonai, Elohaynu melech ha'olam, boray me'oray ha'aysh!" as he finished, a pillar of fire shot out of the ground surrounding he and his friends. after a moment to ensure that there was nothing wrong with the pillar, he resumed his prayers.
OOC: "Blessed are You, God, our Lord, King of the universe, Creator of the fire's lights."

King Alexander looked quite surprised but didn't show it. He stayed calm, smiling slightly. He looked over at Takumi as he listend and then back at the sorceresses. ''Nothing to add,'' he spoke softly, trying to see where Leena was.
A marriage to unite the kingdoms.. While it was appealing when he considered his people- peace was priceless, and he would sell his soul if it meant the safety of his people- he did not want to go through with it. It had nothing to do with his mild fear of marriage, he just couldn't bring himself to say yes. A few days prior and he would have agreed immediately; what was the change?
He listened quietly to the King of Mornia speak, a smile ghosting his lips when he finished. He was impressed, to say the least. He agreed with every word too. "I couldn't have said it any better, friend; I have already promised the rest of my night to another. I mean no disrespect to such lovely maidens, but my heart has already been taken."
Before her, the kings began to reject the proposal put forth by Amaris. She had seen this, something else was coming too, she could feel. Something big and something not planned. The men had already met others who had won favor in the eyes of the royals. A little more bad luck in those girls direction wouldn't hurt, she thought, a wave of the dark red aura of misfortune clouded around the ones in question.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fahad started when the mysterious women stepped forth. What was happening? He saw a girl run into what looked like a wall. And his sister put a hand up to the shield and attempted to pound on it. Was she okay, he thought, taking a step forward, and stopped when the leader of the girls spoke. "I am sure you know about the threat of the kingdoms of Ordrin and Grendel invading the four kingdoms here. Well, they asked our father to stop it and he did. He asked for a favor in return one day and they gave their word. Well, he wants that favor now and we're here to carry it out. He requests that their sons marry us, his daughters. So there's no need for you four to look for potential brides, because you're looking at them. Now will you honor your parents' promise or not? If you don't, there will be consequences. Believe me, it's really not such a bad request and our kingdoms will be aligned in peace." Did his father make a deal with the sorcerer of Ordrin. Why hadn't he told him about this. Had Fahad's father planned to sell him off in marriage when the time was right? or Did he expect the Sorcerer to call for something else in repayment.
Takumi made a speech about the laws of marriage in the kingdom of spring. He was right, they didn't have any obligation for any promises the late monarchs of the four kingdoms had made. If thier fathers had told them or included them in whatever deal they had made, then they would be duty bound to marry these girls, but it was not the case. "I was never told about this deal by my father." He said. "I do not take part in it." His country did have marriage customs, but the autumn kingdom traditionally used arranged marriages. A deal made by both parents for influential matches. It was, in fact, expected of him to start looking for a good mate for his younger sister, as older sibling and guardian, though he knew she could take care of herself more than he could. If it came down to worse he would marry one of these girls, but he would rather not. Not now that he had found someone he might enjoy being around.
Amaris shook her head and replied, "Are you sure you've four made up your minds? This is the last time I will ask after all. Just so you know, us girls don't take rejection well. I hate to be responsible for what may happen if you refuse again."
Deep inside her she had a feeling they would say know and secretly hoped they would deny her for she loved causing mischief, but at the same time, it did hurt to be rejected all the same.
Leena could hear every word and was thoroughly angry. How dare they come in here and force themselves onto the kings! Takumi was right, none of them made that promise. Suddenly though, she felt something dreadful around her and her mark started to burn up. Gasping, she grabbed her side and tried to push the pain away, but it was too much and she suddenly collapsed.
((I want all the Chosen girls to feel something similar from their marks okay?))
Reyne could feel the intentions behind Amaris' final offer - her sister had a love for causing chaos, but Reyne knew that the rejection was a small pain in her side.
She listened softly as they continued to talk, tuning in on her twin's thoughts. Sidhe knew that something bigger than all of them was coming, something that they had not been planned. The world in front of her flashed red as she felt her twin release dark magic on the ones that the king's had already chosen.
Who knew. . . she mused. Perhaps twin can become jealous. . .
Adara watched as four young women moved toward the kings, and she suddenly felt the ground beneath them vanish from her range of sensation. It seemed as if a large sphere engulfed the eight and Adara no longer had contact with them. They began to speak to themselves, the eldest of the four sorceresses - for that is what she assumed them to be - acted as spokesperson for her younger siblings.
Adara was too far away from the group to hear what they said, and so she began to move closer when a searing pain caused her to fall suddenly to her knees. Gasping in shock, she clasped a hand above her heart, on the place of her strange birthmark. The burning continued on, but she attempted to stand, fighting against the awful sting. The pain finally won, and she fell to the floor, her pale dress surrounding her in a sea of white.
Around her, others looked on as she collapsed, until the sound of another girl dropping drew away their attention.
Chaos had finally arisen.
''No, I shall not marry one of you.'' His voice was slightly unsure, but he finally said what he would do. He wasn't going to marry them, not in a hundred years. Even if the pressure was so great to marry someone, one of those was not going to be his wife. He would rather die then have one of those witches as his wife. He knew that if he would marry one of them, his kingdom would be doomed. They would only be out for power and he couldn't allow them to take over the power. Even if it meant he got killed and the other kings not, he wasn't going too. He would die for his friends, if it meant they would die too.
The head started with nothing more than a spark, traveling down to her fingertips and legs. The heat was gone to a split second, a second of pain from an unknown cold, before her side started to burn. In a way, she could feel the image being burnt into her skin. She took deep breaths, but she had never felt such pains and it didn't take more than a few seconds for her knees to give under her. She fell forwad, her knees and hands stopping the fall but sending a flash up pain up her arms. She cried out in pain, but suprisingly, it came out no louder than normal voice level.
"Yes, Lord."
Turning back to the girls, Takumi continued, "I personally give you my guarantee that this man is my finest soldier. He is honest, benevolent, protective, and faithful. He is the highest of all of my guards, and I hear quite a bit of gossip that he is one of the most desired men in the area. Captain, do any of these women please you?"
He nodded, "Yes, Lord they are all quite charming."
"Do you have another partner for the remaining evening?"
"No, Lord."
"Then I see it rather appropriate, that at the very least, one of you ladies should dance with my Captain. If you choose to marry him, you may not be the queen, but you would be highly respected, and hold heavy say in local affairs. I believe that the position would be similar to a baroness." This was the next best thing he could offer. He had decided that Viola was the only girl here who held his attention, and none of the other girls even came close to gaining his interest. But he hated to be so rude as to tell these girls no, and be rid of them. Other than being queen, this was the highest available position to be gained by marriage.
OOC: Sorry this is kind of random.
This was not part of the plan and the King of Mornia's suggestion angered Amaris for some reason. The gall of this guy! She immediately dropped her smile and her eyes flashed as energy picked it up. Suddenly the room darkened and Amaris came forward a bit.
"I will not take this offer. It seems that you four don't plan on honoring your parents' promise. It's a shame really for now you'll pay the consequences of your actions. If you won't marry us, than no one will have you. Listen well for your world is about to change." she said as her voice rises.
She gathered magic around her more and with the link between her and her sisters, she casts a curse towards the kings as she says words out loud in a language only known by dark magic users.
<"By the powers invested upon us, we cast this curse upon thee,
May they become beasts of burden by day,
Only by night may they regain their true forms,
The beast forms will be the symbols of their kingdoms,
As we will so mote it be!"> ((This is the actual curse in another language)).
With that magic was unleashed from her hands and hits the four kings. While it appears they are unharmed, on their chests there was a curse mark.
"This curse will only be lifted when you change your minds about the promise. We will take our leave now. Let's see if anyone will marry you after you see what the curse days. Enjoy the rest of the night ehehehe." Amaris said.
With that, she and her sisters become invisible, taking the shield down. Also the room becomes light again.
"To the safe house now." Amaris tells her sisters telepathically as they make their way out of the palace.
She also sends a telepathic message to Dolman about what happened. He gets the message just as an attack lands on him and knocks him back, effectively causing them to be transported back to the palace. He grumbles as he gets off.
"I guess I underestimated you young ones. It's a darn shame things didn't go so well for the kings though. Enjoy your evening." he said before vanishing.
The pain in Leena's side subsided, but she felt tired. She manages to sit up and look around. She tries to get up, but she was still light headed and falls to her knees.
"Great . . " she grumbles.
Sidhe raised an eyebrow at the Kings request. One of them to marry a captain of the guard. Well their father wouldn't like that. She could feel from her connection with her sisters, that Amaris did not like the proposal at all. Her sister began another spell, calling upon all of their magic to create the powerful spell. Her voice joined in with the spell and helped put a curse of the four kings. Then she became invisible. "To the safe house now." Her sister said telepathically. She made her way through the crowd not touching anyone and escaping out of the courtyard. Well that was a bust, she thought. Then again, she knew it was going to happen this way. She hadn't forseen the particular spell, but she did know that there was no way the kings would have married them tonight.
Introducing Jasmyne.
Jasmyne watched with a horror when the four sorceresses began to chant a curse. She began pounding the barrier in front of her frantically to get to her brother. Suddenly she fell through were something had been there before. She hit the floor as the witches disappeared and she ran up to her brother, who was looking confused and sick. "Fahad," She cried. "Are you okay?" She led him to sit down where he sat numbly. He nodded, but she could tell he was freaked out by the whole thing.
Leena looked up to see Alexander. There was a weariness in his eyes that hadn't been there before and she was more concerned for his wellbeing than her own. For a moment she forgot about her cousin too.
"I'll be fine. Are you all right?" she asked.
She avoided his question a bit. No she wasn't fine now but she would be eventually.
She looked to the others: Lavilev, Karuta, and Israel... and the other boy that was with them in the void. She stood slowly, warily, and looked about the room for any remaining sorceresses. All other magic users were gone. She shuddered. The evil one made her feel ill...he had crippled her in that void, made her powerless. She did not want to experience that again. She flicked her fingers, and the dust in the corners of the room set to spinning in little dervishes. There. Much better.
"It is quite fine your highness. I only came over here to ask you something."
"Of course, friend. what is it?"
"Do you really think I had a chance with any of them?"
"You do realize that they were sorceresses that placed a curse on myself and the other kings, right?"
A bit flustered, the captain answered a bit embarrassed, "O-of course, sir! I-i was just thought that they might be repentive, and if there was any chance in the future t-that..."
Takumi let out a loud laugh and threw an arm around his Captain's shoulders. "Anything is possible my friend. I would not worry too much about it right now though. Now if you will excuse me, I need to find someone."
As soon as Lavilev finished praying, he jumped up to his feet. "OK! I'm ready now." looking around, he saw the balcony just as he remembered. "Wait. I know that I was not paying that much attention, but I am sure that we were just fighting. and if we were not, then what happened to my Holy Fire?" and the other guy. where is he?" he looked around searching for signs of the struggle they were just apart of. Instead, he saw that the crowd below was in complete disarray, the kings were scattered, and there was a strange feeling of evil radiating from them as well. "What wicked act is this? It feels like a curse. A real one too. How odd." It seemed that they were going to be there a bit longer than planned.
