Don't judge me
:: A stern woman with an animal like sense for danger, Mayson is a loner at heart that lives by her gut. She is protective of others, believing in her strength foremost and is often unwilling to ask for help. Always ready for a fight, she keeps her weapons close, her friends closer, and her enemies by the throat. She rarely speaks of her past, labeling it "the story of a girl who died long ago."

No one knows this. But :: Her life before joining the Black Order isn't something she divulges willingly, though from what is known she was raised in a large city in western Europe in an orphanage. It is suggested that she was sold to a land owner in England, known for his perversions and sadistic nature and that this tenure was very brief, as she escaped the evening of her arrival--the circumstances unclear. What IS known is that she was found in a nearby forest months later, nearly feral. The Finder who discovered her took her back to the Black Order, where her innocence could be utilized.

Her training went smoothly as she integrated herself into the Black Order, learning of her natural and unnatural abilities and how she might utilize them. After joining the order, she decided to put her old life behind her. This prompted her to take up a last name, something she lacked, and settled on "Ebonwood."

My best chance in a fight is :: Mayson's innocence is an equipment type pair of ear protectors that act like headphones, playing a slowly increasing lullaby-like tune that increases her physical and perceptual abilities, allowing her to fight in perfect sync, until it climaxes, at which she's at her most powerful. It then rapidly declines, needing to recharge and leaving her defenseless.

She is an accomplished fighter as well, utilizing shortswords in combat. Her body has been developed to boast 100% pink muscle, though being tall it's harder to utilize.

It was quiet in the small room, the icy grasp of winter clawing at her skin, emanating through the thin window that stood alone on the bleak, stone wall. This was her home, her world in many senses, and it reflected her perfectly. Unadorned, her spartan living space only contained her bed and a dresser, though she kept little in the latter; just a change of uniform and a long, black shirt and tights that she wore when she wasn't on assignment. She also had her weapons, being, and innocence, of course, but as she rarely was separated from any of those, if at all, she couldn't consider them part of the room.

She pulled open the door slowly, the halls quiet as many still were asleep, and stepped out. It was such a strange place, but she figured that sort of made sense. It was a haven of innocence, something that had already strange properties. Together, though, it made the aura of the place feel unsettling, which was maybe why she rarely saw wild animals nearby. It was off-putting and disorienting and she felt especially unsettled by the subtle, unnatural reverberations of the magic-like essence.

But she could ignore it well enough, at least now. When she had first arrived as a child, it was maddening for her, which made the walks that she took all the more refreshing. Were she not an accommodater, she would certainly want nothing to do this place. In fact, she'd probably be afraid of it.

More so than she already was, at least.

She reached the door to the outside, pushing it open to reveal the darkness of the night, which she entered willingly. She could see well enough, but she probably should of waited a little longer. It was 4AM and the sun was still nestled behind the hills, as if it were resting up for the long day ahead of it like her colleagues. Like her room it was nearly silent, disturbed only by the crunching of her feet and her soft breath in the still morning. Thinking aloud, she interrupted the tranquility.

"I wonder if I'l have an assignment today?"

It was only a hope, but she did prefer to be on the road. It was a passion of hers, the anonymity that came with traveling. She felt like a new person, born again from a cocoon of an unrecognized face, becoming someone else...if only for a time.

If only it lasted.

Alastair Bangaurd

-Alastair took the cheek pinching like nothing was there before hearing Tsubaki's story, "Wow... I have to admit... That is one hell of a way to wipe out a village..." he thought remembering the Akuma he fought... His own father at one point after his grief overcame him, "I feel your pain... My father... Rather recently was overcome with grief of my brother's death... Had become an Akuma while I was visiting him... One real bad birthday gift..." he said before sipping his tea, "Though... I won't let that cheek pinching go without retaliation..." he said before grabbing Tsubaki's cheek jokingly, knowing, he's just hypothetically signed his death warrant, "Cheer up Tsu-tsu. There is no need to be a downer all the blummin' time." he said smiling before releasing her cheek and moving away from her as fast as he could.

-Soon Alastair looked over at Raine, smiling a bit, "Nah. We're not a couple. It's more of a: I do something and hope Tsu-tsu doesn't hit me in the head with a chair. So far... I'm lucky..." he said smiling before sitting on one of the comfortable chairs as he relaxed a bit. He was hoping once again that Tsubaki wouldn't kill him, a beat-down would be fine. But his death wouldn't be pleasant for him, his relatives, and the Order. He sighed as he pulled a book from his coat pocket.

Atara Romanesque

Atara had been up for maybe thirty minutes as he prepared for the mission and was silently moving about the still quiet Black order, at the least until a voice interrupted the silence,

"I wonder if I'l have an assignment today?"

It was rather loud compared to the resonant silence as he noticed a woman walking around a bit, she had short hair, which was pink and admittedly nice looking to him, and he nodded to himself as he slowly approached, "May I ask, but do you know where a Miss Mayson Ebonwood is? She and I have been assigned to a mission to protect a supposed 'innocence blood' child and are to depart immediately." he asked in a rather non-chilant yet official tone as he adjusted his shoulders a bit for his somewhat twin blades to rest better on his shoulders. He anxiously and somewhat patiently waited for the woman to respond.

"May I ask, but do you know where a Miss Mayson Ebonwood is? She and I have been assigned to a mission to protect a supposed 'innocence blood' child and are to depart immediately."

She looked at the man standing in front of her, her eyes scanning him coolly as she brought her hands to her hips and looked him squarely in the eye. He was about her height...weight and age too, it seemed.

"That would be me." She replied calmly, her stalwart expression unchanging. She stepped forward, bowing slightly as a sign of respect. She rarely talked to other members of the Order, but that didn't mean she didn't appreciate what they did in the field. Everything else aside, they were consummate professionals and her colleagues, and she planned on treating them as such. "I am Mayson E. Ebonwood, Exorcist of the Black Order and wielder of Sin's Whisperers." She motioned towards her innocence, the ear protectors resting on her head. "But you may call me May."

She gave him another look over, noting his features. He was Asian, and had medium length, darker hair with brown eyes. He was attractive, she supposed, though that sort of thing was more of an observation than a sign of interest for her. She hadn't had any relationships, and as such, she had a difficult time showing interest in such things. They were...silly, by her account.

"May I ask your name...and the details of the assignment, if you will."

This was standard practice for her, a process repeated whenever she received a new partner. She repeated it almost by habit, though her interest in the mission was genuine. She wondered where they would be going.

"I have everything I need with me, so I'm ready to leave when you are." She said briskly, motioning at her swords and wallet. She was always prepared to leave, whatever the circumstances.

Or rather, she was always eager.

Alastair Banguard

-Alastair smiled until he was put in a chokehold before responding, "You definitely need to ease your attitude... Not to be mean about it. but you being so aggressive attitude is why I mess with you. And why few are willing to work with you. No offense. Please do control yourself." he snapped in a manner that explained why he was doing so. Alastair may be patient, but with what Tsubaki was doing to him was wearing his patience in a manner which he personally hated. Though he wanted to remain friendly with Tsubaki, though there was a point in which Alastair had to put his foot down and snap. This felt like the time, but his better judgement said otherwise to him. Soon he turned and walked out of the room speaking, "I'll b next door if you need me." he finished in a way that basically said: Don't bother me unless it's an emergency. He soon entered his room.

-After entering his room Alastair tok off his coat, he was still frustrated, though was calming. Soon he had sat down in the chair he kept finding himself in as he pulled out his book before sighing as he thought. He hated being angered, it didn't feel pleasant to him, since, it wasn't him. He never sees himself as an always angered person. Though he needed to snap back. Figuring while he thought he couldn't read well he sighed before heading for bed.

Atara Romanesque

-Atara nodded taking in the information before responding, "Oh good. My name is Atara Romanesque. Wielder of The Cerecent moon and Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. We'll be looking for a child named Theodin Redway." he said in a now more relaxed sort of tone as he handed her the papers, "We are to depart immediately. Judging by your words. Let's go then." he finished before nodding beginning his journey.

Time skip! (If that is okay.)

-Soon they were on the train, first class cabin, as usual with Black Order missions. This one felt a bit different to him, he was with a partner, and she was... To him admittedly beautiful even though he was never concerned with dating. Yet Atara wished to know his partner and the compatibility with the two, as in, if they could work together efficiently or not, "I'd like to know a bit about you. If you don't mind, Personality wise so I know what to expect from you reaction wise-..." he said before cutting himself off feeling as if he sounded rather stupid, "If you know what I mean." he said in a still relaxed, yet orderly tone before giving a light smile.

"I'd like to know a bit about you. If you don't mind, Personality wise so I know what to expect from you reaction wise--If you know what I mean."

Mayson considered it carefully, her hand resting on her cheek as she leaned into her right knee. She wasn't any good at talking, especially about herself. Her temper was short and conversation felt so...alien, like it was a luxury that she couldn't afford. "I suppose I'm like..." she paused, trying to think of a good comparison. It was as hard as she expected. "...like a boat."

It sounded as silly in her head as it did aloud.

"What I mean is that I'm unsinkable, I prefer solitude--like that found at sea, and I carry people through storms." She paused another moment, wondering how she could clarify.

Nothing came too her.

"I'm terrible at describing things, I apologize."

She sat up, her eyes drifting towards the window absentmindedly. The passing trees sped by, greens of different shades and tones painting a blurry picture outside. They were like people, a crowd of onlookers observing the passengers as they dawdled about in their rooms. A transient picture of normalcy.

"We will arrive soon." she brushed her hand through her hair, the locks parting and re-meeting as her fingers traveled through them. She didn't know much about children, they were strange to her...and smelly. She wasn't particularly enamored with them, to be honest. How would it be, protecting one?
