Magenta Avalanche

Magenta groaned softly as he was starting to wake up, the direct sun rays were to hard to ignore. "Gah...Didn't I tell Owner-sama to keep the curtains closed?" He hated when the owner would do that, but it was the only way for the dolls to wake up. He slowing opened his gray eyes, staring directly into the sun. The opened widely as he jumped back. "Owner-sama?" He looked around, seeing the shop in ashes. "What...what happened h-here?" He stood up, walking around the planks of tarnish wood, trying to find the Owner. He then tripped over a piece of wood that was sticking out. He got back up and pulled it out, seeing a body covered in tarnished clothes and burned skin.

The long haired doll screamed as he jumped back, falling on one of the other dolls. "Guys! Guys! Owner-sama is dead!" He didn't want it to be true, if the owner was dead then that means no more dangos. They need them to live, they need him to live. He had small tears coming out of his glass eyes, he didn't want to die.

Lishe Diamond

Lishe awoke to someone falling on her. She sat up groggy, slightly peeved someone woke her up early. She glanced around to see most of the others still asleep. Then she smelled it. The ash and the destruction. She snapped fully awake to see everything gone. She started shaking. "No way.... Then she heard Magenta yell about Owner-san and his death. She felt her whole world be smashed then and there.

The duel-haired doll shut down. She stood up and knelt by the body of her beloved owner. "Why...? was all she could say as she reached out to touch him, hands shaking. She stopped herself and curled up, crying. She missed him and his smile already.

Kayden Ryu

Kayden was jolted out of his sleep by the shouts of Magenta. The violet haired doll usually never shouted. Kayden knew immediately something was wrong. springing to his feet, the copper haired doll stared around in dismay at the wreckage of what used to be their most precious dango shop. Dango Love. What had happened to it? Cautiously, he made his way down from his shelf, bending his joints easily. They could be a little stiff in the morning, but today, the stiffness didn't bother Kayden as much as it usually did. Because today, he was facing a world without Dango Love. A world where he might not actually live to see tomorrow without his precious dango.

And then, he berated himself. How could he be thinking about dango when his owner-sama was...was...

He bit back the desire to cry. Because he couldn't cry - he couldn't cry until he had turned into a human. At least, he couldn't cry for real. His heart felt like it was being ripped in half, as the entire situation fell upon him. He flopped to the ground, tumbling down from the shelf and landing in a pile at the base of the cabinet he usually slept on. A cloud of ash rose around him, as he coughed, brushing it away and clearing his vision once again. Slowly, he made his way over to Magenta and Owner-sama.

He left footprints in the ash beside him, before he fell to the ground again.

Magenta Avalanche

Magenta tried not to cry anymore. He couldn't, he shouldn't show weakness. He gave a soft sorry to Lishe, he didn't mean to fall on her. He couldn't think straight now, all he could think was how they were going to survive. "W-what...are we supposed to do now?" He flicked his long hair out of his porcelain face, trying to get a closer look on the owner. He stared at the burnt features that used to be his face. His eyes were closed and he still had that smile on his face, like he knew this was going to happen and there was no way to stop it. Though it made him wonder...How come no one saw the shop burn? How come no one tried to stop it? He bit his quivering lip hard, making it crack just a bit. He turned and gave Kayden a hand, they had to move on, but he knew it would be very hard to do so. "I-I don't want to die..."

As he muttered those words, Magenta turned his head to see one of the cooks had made his way to come to work. He tilted his head and stared at the cook with his gray glass eyes. In a hush tone, he tried to get the other dolls attention. "Hey, I-I...think I have an idea..." He started to walk away from Kayden, Lishe, and the other dolls to the cook. He tripped here and there, still upset with the ordeal, but he finally made it close to the blond haired cook. He racked through his memories of this certain cook and he vaguely remembered the owner saying his name. He then remembered one day when he disobeyed the owner's orders and peaked through the door to see the shop as the cooks cooked. He was amazed, but was mesmerized at the cook who cooked his favorite dangos, Mitarashi. The memory made him lick his lips. "Y-your...,"he said out loud in a broken voice to the cook,"your Kida...Kida Usi, r-right?"

Magenta Avalanche

Magenta huffed and blushed as the cook ruffled his long hair. "Neh! D-don't mess it up!" He shook his head away from the hand and backed away a bit. He looked up at Kida with his pale lavender eyes, batting his eyelashes a bit. His blush grew as he listened to the man talk. He never knew someone could be more arrogant. He bit his lip again before speaking. "I am a doll,"he started out and pointed all to the other dolls,"the owner made us...I'm Magenta. I'm a boy, thank you very much!" He flipped his hair again before moving on. "O-owner-sama is...,"he bit his lip harder, making the slight crack bigger before more tears flowed down his cheeks.

He collapsed, his tiny, shaking knees could not support him any longer. "Owner-sama!!!" He started to cry like a little baby. He never felt so empty inside before, without the owner, he was nothing. He tried to wipe the tears away, but more kept coming. "Why did you die???" He cried out to no one. "I don't want to die..." His tiny pale hands went to his stomach and it growled. He needed Mitarashi and fast, his only choice...Kida.

"I want Mitarashi dangos!!!"

Reece Sasuke

A warm sheet of morning light flooded through the blinds of the apartment window and tightly wrapped itself around a heap of tangled, tattered blankets. A low groan emitted from within the tangle and the heap began to move slightly. A spidery fingered hand followed by a lengthy, toned arm slowly emerged from the mass of blanket and groggily peeled back the layer of worn sheets, revealing a thatch of tousled, crimson hair. Hidden beneath the stray strands of fiery red lay two tightly closed eyelids that squinted tighter together before reluctantly opening, allowing two vivid Kelly-green eyes to be blinded by the golden brilliance streaming through the partially opened window blinds.

Another groan escaped the read-head, Reece Sasuke's, slightly parted jaws and he flung his arm across his face, shielding his eyes from the piercing light. Ugh! Why can't it rain today? He would much prefer a dank, rainy day over a bright and sunny one like this and the fact that it wasn't cold and wet today set Reece in a rather foul mood.

Still drowsy with sleep and slightly aggravated with the weather, Reece rotated his head to the side and faced the digital clock. His eyes practically popped from his skull as he read the blue luminescent numerals. 8:04?! Shit I'm late! With a new found energy the panicked red-head flung the tangled sheets from his bare chest and sprung from his bed, his feet hitting the wooden floor with a thud.

Reece shot forward and nearly tripped over a discarded pair of jeans. He quickly stooped down and plucked the jeans from the floorboards and hastily stuffed one of his lengthy legs into it. Whether they were dirty or clean was a mystery to him and honestly, he didn't care. The only thing going through his mind right now was getting to work on time and getting himself one paycheck closer to the motorcycle of his dreams. Even as a young child Reece fantasized about having a motorcycle, but until he could afford it he would be forced to depend on taxi cabs and his skateboard to get him where he needed to be.

With one leg successfully through his jeans, Reece hopped towards his dresser whilst he attempted to slip his other leg through. Now, both legs properly in his jeans, Reece dug through the top drawer of his dresser, carelessly tossing articles of clothing onto the already cluttered floor. Tired of searching, Reece pulled out two random socks, one black one dark green, and slipped them and a pair of orange and yellow sneakers over his feet.

Donning only his dark-wash jeans and shoes, Reece darted for the door of his small apartment and just before he reached the door he snatched a tee draped over the back of his couch and tossed it over his head. The red-head, now fully clothed, grabbed his board and rushed out the door, completely fogetting breakfast.

Reece kicked at the road hard, propelling himself and his skateboard forward. He zipped past houses and people and narrowly avoided several collisions with either moving or stationary cars. Reece glanced at his watch as he neared the Dango Love and picked up the pace. If he kept up this pace he probably wouldn't be late enough to be fired. Being in the rush he was, Reece didn't notice the smell of burnt wood until he came to an abrupt stop in front of the Dango Love. Or at least, where it should have been.

The shop had been burnt completely to the ground and the only evidence that there actually was anything present there at one time was the piles of ash and tarnished wood scattered across the lot. "The hell..." Reece spoke in a breathless whisper and walked towards the ruins in a daze. Reece's green orbs took in all the destruction and he stopped walking as he neared the other three cooks. "Any of you guys know what hap-" The red-head stopped in mid-question as his green orbs fell on the standing, walking, talking doll before them all. He lifted one finger at the doll with the long, magenta hair, blatant surprise evident on his paling face. Reece took a staggering step backwards, nearly tripping on a plank, and glanced around at the surprisingly calm faces of his colleagues. "Am I the only one freaked by the fact theres a living, talking doll standing in front of us?!" Had this been an average day Reece, one who prefers keeping his true emotions secret, would never have allowed such obvious surprise to make itself known to others.

Kayden Ryu

Kayden looked around. It seemed as though several cooks had started to gather, to stare at the wreckage. He waited in the shadows, as Magenta revealed himself to Kida. He frowned slightly, as he scuffed the ash with his foot. Should he speak up? Should he stay back? His stomach grumbled suddenly and Kayden cursed under his breath. He needed some Hanami dango right now.

Slowly, he made his way over to the humans, climbing up onto a counter so they could see him better.

He decided to take control of the situation.

"Attention!" he called out, waving his arms as he looked around those gathered at the shop. "There are important things to discuss. First off, yes, we are dolls and yes, we can talk and walk. However, if we do not eat within the next..." he glanced at a clock. "Within the next few hours," he glossed over the details, "we will die."

He spread his arms around him, focusing his gaze on the cooks.

"So it is of absolute necessity that we eat dangos very soon."

Magenta Avalanche

"H-hey! Don't pick me up! I-I didn't give you permissi-!" Magenta started to banter at Kida as the cook had picked him up. "I don't like to be manhandled!" He frowned and looked away from the cook as he bit his thumb. Probably trying to figure if he's dreaming or crazy. He flipped his annoying hair out of his face once again as it kept getting in front of his eyes.

His pale lavender eyes widened as the blond swung him for his shoulders and then onto the ground by his bike. How rude? "Hmmph! What was that for?" He frowned once more and bit his lip as his stomach growled loudly. "I want dangos! Not salad, dangos!" He patted his stomach protectively. "And I'm not fat. How can a doll be fat?" He made a inpatient noise and looked away. This guy is sort of rude...but I'm hungry. If I don't go, I'll die, but I don't want to leave my family...

"Don't think this is over, we are all going to meet back here tomorrow,"he shouted so that everyone could hear,"I don't want to leave my family behind....!" He climbed onto the bike and held onto Kida's waist, holding tightly. He's never been on a bike before and he didn't want to fall off. "Just get this over with so I can eat Mitarashi...,"he muttered as he blushed a bit, realizing how tight he was holding onto the cook. He hid his face into his back, closing his eyes and wishing the owner was back. Do good my family...Don't go hungry... He gave a small smile and a tiny wave to the other dolls, hoping they follow his lead into finding a cook for themselves.

Reece Sasuke

Reece watched in amazement as Kida scooped the magenta haired doll into his arms and set him on his bike, taking off almost immediately after the doll was secure. How could he be so calm? Their work place had just been burned down, the owner's charred body lay smothered in the ashes only a few feet away from where they stood, and on top of all this a bunch of dolls sprung to life, blabbering about how hungry they were! Reece shook his head slowly in disbelief, his crimson mane tossing from side-to-side. This was crazy, no, this was verging on ludicrous. Things like this only happened in the movies...

"R-Reece-san...?"

A faint, broken voice speaking his name tore Reece from his thoughts and he turned to see a small, fragile looking doll sniveling at his feet. The small thing looked as if she wanted to say something more but her words were drowned out by her shaking sobs and tears flooding down her smooth porcelain cheeks. Overwhelmed with the sudden urge to comfort the beautiful thing, Reece crouched down before the female doll, left arm dangling limply between his legs, and cautiously reached his right arm out towards her. He lightly cupped his hand over her head and using his thumb, he gently stroked her fine, silky blonde hair.

The sound of shuffling feet and fabric brushing against fabric caused Reece to break his gaze from the transfixing, crying doll and face a small, yarn doll hobbling in their direction. The yarn doll didn't seem to notice the red-head crouched next to him and spoke to the crying doll in a calm voice, “It’s ok Lishe-chan. Owner-sama is in a better place now. Please stop crying, sis.”

So the owner was dead... Reece shook his head again and withdrew his hand from the doll's fine hair. Another voice could be heard and Reece strained to listen to the green eyed doll's instructions. "So you need dangos to survive?" Reece spoke to the still crying doll in a soothing voice that he hadn't used since the last time he saw his younger sister, Julep, in Ireland. "Lishe? It is Lishe, right? Do you like Nikudango?"

Kayden Ryu

Kayden looked up at Malaeli'i, his body quivering. Could this be it? It seemed almost...too coincidental. He was distracted momentarily as Magenta was whisked away. Feeling a tad annoyed at the boy that had just up and taken Magenta away - without hearing them all out - Kayden wrestled with the urget o chase after Kida and poke holes in his tires. But no, he had to focus on the current situation at hand. His bright green eyes looked back at Malaeli'i, the human's words finally coming back and echoing again. The feeling of success washed over Kayden again, as he nodded eagerly.

"Hanami dango first," he said, as he sat down firmly on the counter.

"Information later." He added rather stubbornly, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked steadily at Malaeli'i, his words offering no chance for argument. He was adamant in his request - he always had been when it came to dango. If someone wanted something from Kayden, they had to give him something first. And that something well...that something Kayden usually decided.

Annabell Cooper

Annabell looked around biting her lip, Magenta, the oldest one and their leader was gone his cook had already come, Kayden has his cook, Lishe had her cook, but Annabell couldn’t find her cook. A terrible thought ran through her mind What if my cook doesn’t come?

This pit in her stomach continued to grow as she looked around and she still didn’t see the cook, with all the tattoos that made her favorite dango, Tennayaki. She was starting to get more and more worried, she was hungry and she knew there was a time limit.
Annabell’s stomach growled and her hands flew to her stomach and sat down on the ground and looked up at the dolls that were still there “What do we do if our cook doesn’t come?” She asked her eyes watering. “I don’t wanna die.”

Her mind was racing the thoughts all having the same theme, What if my cook doesn’t come? What if she’s sick and she doesn’t come? What if she got into an accident and she doesn’t ever come? She’s the only one that knows how to make Tennayaki!

Davian Hartseer

Davian stayed by Lishe’s side to try and comfort her, but it was no use. The poor thing was too busy crying her heart out to notice him. Reece, the red-headed cook, finally released from his stupor (most likely caused by seeing the dolls walk and talk like living things) started to stroke Lishe’s blonde hair. Reece was trying to help Lishe too. The small yarn doll decided that his younger sister was in good hands for the time being; at least the red-head wasn’t screaming in fear at the dolls.

Davian looked around to see Akisa standing over the Owners charred body. Her hazel eyes were a mix of emotions that the yarn doll could not decipher. The yarn doll’s stomach growled again, this time louder and angrier. Davian looked from Reece and Lishe then back to Akisa. Lishe will be ok. Reece won’t hurt her.Picking his way carefully though the ashes and broken wood, the yarn doll made his way over to Akisa. He could feel himself going quiet inside. He had never talked to her before and it made him a bit nervous. He prayed that he wouldn’t mess up their first conversation. Once he was standing in front of her, he waved one stubby sewn arm to get her attention.

“Excuse me, Askisa-san? You make Anko dangos right? I was wondering if you could make one for me. What Kayden-kun said is true: if we don’t have dangos then we will die. Please miss, I would like one if you could make it for me.” Davian said with as much politeness as he could muster. Hopefully she would consider making him one.

Davian Hartseer

“Sure… I don’t mind.” Akisa answered in a tone as polite as the yarn doll’s was. Turning a bit bashful, Davian began to stutter like a small child. “A-arigato Akisa-san. Oh I almost forgot, my name is D-davian. Davian Hartseer.” The doll bowed slightly and then looked back up at Akisa. Davian blushed slightly, grateful that the cook was going to help him. Usually people don’t help starving dolls that can talk and walk.

Looking up into the dark auburn-haired girl’s face, Davian noticed how pretty she was and felt himself blush deeper. Stop, stop! Shes going to see! He coached himself with no success. He didn’t want her to know what he was really thinking, afraid that their new found relationship was going to turn awkward. To distract himself, he asked another question: “So…W-what are we going to do now, Akisa-san?” The yarn dolls insides seemed to squirm as he struggled to stop turning into a tomato.

Kayden Ryu

Kayden looked at the hand Malaeli'i offered to him, before reaching out with his slender fingers and shaking it. "Name's Kayden Ryu," he answered quietly, shrugging off what might have been an insult. Kayden disliked doing what others thought would be proper - he didn't care what he should be doing or how he should be doing it. As long as he got his way. He glanced up at Malaeli'i.

"So....do I get my dango now?" he asked sullenly, making his way over to the stove. He sat down on the counter, his legs hanging off of it as he looked up at Malaeli'i. The foreigner had always interested the doll - more than once he had caught himself staring at the Hawaiian, as the chef made his way around the little shop. Not that Malaeli'i should ever know or would ever know about this....

He looked around, suddenly realizing that the stove might be too damaged to use. A little bit of panic set in his small body, as he glanced up at Malaeli'i, barely contained fear showing in his luminescent green eyes.

"What if the stove doesn't work?" he whispered.

Vanora Quintus
Vanora slowly woke to the sound of her stomach grumbling angrily at her. Yawning she blinked, her hands rising to rub her pale blue eyes, not noticing her surrounding quite yet. With another yawn, she looked around, her eyes widening in annoyance and worry.

H-how…how could this happen? She though franticly, standing up quickly, I hope everyone is okay…oh did I do the ritual to keep the pixies away last night? Was it them who did this to my home?

Her eyes watered, and she wiped them angrily, looking down to see her dark gray dress cover is soot and ash, frizzled at the ends. She turned her head as she heard voices, noticing people talking to some of the other dolls.

When she realized that the Owner was no where to be found, panic and worry flooded her small body and she swayed slightly, her mind creating situations that couldn’t be true. Owner-sama is probably looking for us…I hope… Vanora shook her head fiercely, shoving her worry aside, her eyes scanning the ruble as she picked through it. Sighing softly, her eyes closed for a second, and she stumbled upon a charred body.

Her pale blue eyes widen in horror, her mind was right for once...the Owner had died in the fire. She brought her hand up to her chest where her heart would've been if she was in human form, feeling as if some cruel sprit was driving a metal rod through her heart, mercilessly ripping it into pieces, leaving her alone to fix her heart. A single tear slipped from her eyes, she quickly wiped it away, trying to reign in her emotions. Timidly, she started walking towards the others, knowing somewhere along the line everything would be alright...eventually.

Davian Hartseer

“There’s not much we can do here… besides a disaster like this should have attracted the police, it’s strange they’re not even here now… so I guess it’s better to leave.” The yarn doll nodded in agreement to Akisa’s statement. Where were the police anyway? Although Davian had never actually seen an policeman, he understood the gist of their profession; when something horrible happens, they show up and make things right again, right? Further more this was a fire. Shouldn’t firemen be here as well? The poor doll was utterly confused, but he would have to save these questions for another time. Like Akisa said, it would be in their best interest to leave. The cooks seemed fine with the discovery of the dolls, however, that doesn’t mean others will behave the same.

“Uhm… would it be okay if you could explain to me a few facts later?” The girl’s question snapped Davian back from his speculations. “Y-yes ma'am. I would be happy too.” The yarn doll smiled bashfully up at the pretty girl. Giving out information was the least he could do for her. She was basically saving his life anyway.

Looking around at the wreckage and his distraught siblings, Davian tried to take in what was left of his old life. He wasn’t quite sure when he would see everyone again. As sad as it was, the doll managed to stay strong. He turned back to Akisa. “I’m ready to leave when your ready, Akisa-san.” Take care everyone. He thought before opening the door to a new chapter in his life.

Annabell eye’s immediately snapped up when she heard the girl’s voice, and she felt like doing a happy dance, that was her cook, she wasn’t going to die! She got off of the ground and dusted herself off, trying to remove as much soot from her dress as she could.

She made her way over to the cook and tugged on her long leather coat “I know what happened.” She said softly, looking up at the tall girl and cocked her head to the side "And I'll tell you if you do something for me."

Annabell Cooper

Annabell bit back the growl at the word Kid , she got so tired of being referred to as a kid. She glared up at the cook, and crossed her arms, like the pouting teenager she was. “If you must know I am 14. And you do kind of look like a vending machine.” She said grabbing the helmet from the cook and getting herself up on the bike, and grabbing a hold of the girl.

Her stomach growled and she poked the cook in the back “I’m hungry. I need Dango.” She said looking up at her “Soon.”
