(Dark) Hulk

a character in “Dark Avengers: Lost Memories”, as played by WadeJackel

Description

The Hulk possesses the potential for limitless physical strength depending directly on his emotional state, particularly his anger. This has been reflected in the repeated comment, "The madder Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets." It has been stated that the Hulk's potential strength had "no finite element inside." His durability, regeneration, and endurance also increase in proportion to his temper. The Hulk is also described as having a level of physical power where "Hulk was stronger than any mortal—and most immortals—who ever walked the Earth."

The Hulk's level of strength is normally limited by Banner's subconscious influence. The Hulk is resistant to most forms of injury or damage. He has withstood the equivalent of solar temperatures, nuclear explosions, and planet-shattering impacts. Despite his remarkable resiliency, continuous barrages of high-caliber gunfire can hinder his movement to some degree, and this has been consistently portrayed outside the comic books, in both live-action films and animation. He has been shown to have both regenerative and adaptive healing abilities, including growing tissues to allow him to breathe underwater surviving unprotected in space for extended periods, and when injured, healing from most wounds within seconds. As an effect, he has an extremely prolonged lifespan.

The Hulk's powerful legs allow him to leap into lower Earth orbit or across continents, and he has displayed sufficient superhuman speed to match Thor, and Sentry.

He also possesses less commonly described powers, including abilities allowing him to "home in" to his place of origin in New Mexico, resist psychic control, or unwilling transformation; grow stronger from radiation or dark magic; and to see and interact with astral forms.

So begins...

From the adjacent cell a voice of great intelligence and breeding offered consultation to the frustrated man in the doorless chamber next to his.

"Do not despair my enigmatic friend, we are all incognito here. This place seems unassailable by any means of force or exertion." The voice was sophisticated and yet it was odd in some undefinable manner, perhaps having to do with its tone, which was deep.

]"Do not despair my enigmatic friend, we are all incognito here. This place seems unassailable by any means of force or exertion." said a voice from the other room. The man sat up quickly, maybe he wasn't alone? The first voice was quickly followed by another voice, this one frantic, like an animal who did not belong in a cage.

"Calm sir! You are not alone, seems there are at least three of us in here" the man said, suddenly excited.

"Words can not express the comfort I feel hearing the voice of another person." he said witha relieved sigh. "I would introduce myself, but I fear that I find myself incapable of remembering anything, so for now I'll be Mr. Blue, on account of the color of my clothes." He said trying to remain calm.

"My room is windowless, doorless, and I appear to share it with another person who is still asleep under a blanket, I assume at least." He said scratching his chin. "I would wake him but I fear upsetting someone whose identity I am completely unaware of."

Leaning his head back against the wall he hears the voice coming from, the man let out a sigh "So tell me, what do you know of your situation? Lest of course you are just my keeper, intent on mocking me in my imprisonment." he said with a smirk and a chuckle.

A third voice emanated from the opposite wall. This one while maintaing that air of intelligence did not hold that smokey eerieness of the first.

"My names Clark and I'm not your jailor. Trust me. I just want to know where we are and how we got here... If your having trouble with your memory too that can't be a coincidence."

Clark said stepping away from the wall. His eyebrows furrowed in frustration and a hint of anger. It seemed now that his memory was not just lost but stolen. The concept of being robbed of his past and everyone in it caused the Man of Steel to clench his fists.

"If whoever put us here stole our memory something tells me we aren't the bad guys. I just can't justify tampering with someones mind."

The voice which had uttered the first words to be spoken on this particular level of the tower sounded out again. "I also find myself without the means of justifying my existence. I heard you rustling about in your cell, your name is Clark. Truly you have been blessed with at least some semblance of your former memory." Stepping closer to the door of his cell. "If you look out between the bars of your personal portal, you will get a glimpse of my chamber door. I appear to be on the wall opposite yours, judging by the flow of your speech through these hollow halls

Clark stepped up to the small window in the cell door allowing him to peer down the hall. The other inmate had asked if he could look into his cell and Clark did his best but was able to make out little more than a shadowy mass in a cell down the hall. Kent tentatively put his hand up giving him a half wave.

"Is that you?"

Clark called down the hall. His voice reverberating off the walls and echoed out down the long hall. The sound of his own voice reverberating back to him let Kal El know just how big the prison really was and its scope was massive.

"Wow...how big is this place?..."

Clark muttered more to himself.

Clark's fellow inmate could not see the waving of his hand, as he had no way of seeing through his own barred-window.

"I believe someone asked as to the identity of our jailer? Well I can divulge this much, for I know it all too well. Our captor has a very sadistic nature! My chamber barely functions as a cell, for I seem to wear it in a particularly cruel manner, it is barely sufficient in terms of its size. I cannot sit, nor can I even bend at the waist. I do not know how our jailer will keep us alive, I have been up for days and have not received a single meal, stranger still is the lack of such desires. The reality of hunger has never risen within my mind, nor has it ever invaded my stomach. At least that is my situation."

The Hybrid groggily opened his eyes, acutely aware of a shining, bright, light. He sat up, examining the room around him, feeling as though he had been asleep for a very, very long time. The room was white. A pure white, which seemed to be a form of marble. He examined the wall in front of him more, and realised something very strange about his room. Written on the wall were three words, that the Hybrid could not seem to remember. They were Brock, Edward and Venom.

The Hybrid decided to get up and examine his cell, hoping to understand and study more of his environment before calling for other people. He stood up, and tried to walk to the other end of the room....but his foot was chained to the wall, limiting the Hybrid movement. He was puzzled. How did he get here? What was going on? The Hybrid racked his mind, searching for WHY he was here, and what had happened. And then the Hybrid was given another puzzle. He had no idea. He didnt understand what was happening. He searched and searched his mind for answers, only coming up with four images: A woman with Red Hair, a crawling, Alien beast with Red Hair, a black pool that seemed like it was alive, and a face. A blonde, green eyed face, which the Hybrid immediately asserted was his own. He smiled, finally relieved he had remembered something, and sat back down.

A voice spoke to him, though it didnt sound like a physical voice. It was a voice from within himself, Alien, bestial, and he could only just understand it...

"Your name is Brock Edwards. I am Venom. We are prisoners....though I know not why. I am your ascension, and you are my host. Find out if any other humans are around, and if they are, earn their trust......Hybrid. We are Venom, and we WILL get out of here."

Somehow, Brock felt compelled to follow this voices command, as though it were a part of him and he were simply an observer. However, Brock asserterted the voice was right, and called out to anyone who might be listening.

"Our name, is...Brock Edwards. Is anyone here? Does anyone know whats going on?"

It was no great mystery, at least to the Dark Entity, as to why the three most powerful of those imprisoned were being held on the same level of the immense tower. In essence their powers and abilities were being cleverly utilized as a force field of sorts, much like the invisible force which keeps the heavenly planets in their places, fixed and apart from one another.

The Hulk presented a particularly interesting dilemma, as his potential for power, strength and destruction was virtually limitless. It had been the freeing of the Hulk's savage side which played a significant role in imprisoning the Dark Entity within this realm. In stark contrast to this potentiality for physical prowess is the Hulk's extremely limited capacity for intelligence and controlled, rational thought.

Many have wondered if there were some correlation between these two extreme opposites, and if so, could it be used to ones advantage?

These preparations were made immediately upon the Hulk's arrival in the pocket universe, the Dark Entity had successfully removed that part of the creatures personality which regulated his anger and aggression.

In doing this the Entity had discovered the secret to the creatures powers, the very link between the Hulk's potential and Dark Matter; the very thing that gives the universe mass.

By elevating the Hulk's intellectual potential the Dark One eliminated his aggressive side. The Hulk now confined and linked to Dr. Strange and Superman, serve as the very generator which powers and makes their confinment possible.

Certain aspects of the preparations were beginning to flash through the Hulk's sleeping mind, the hollow halls of the tower were suddenly filled with the Hulk's guttural grunts of frustration and fear, it was truly unsettling.

World Industries, New Mexico. Many years ago

The Hulk's sleeping mind began to conjur forth fragments of images, he can see a name plate on an office window, but the name etched into the plaque was still blurred.

The main research headquarters is headed by one of the most brilliant minds in the world. His research into hypothetical subatomic particles and the elusive element known as dark energy was far ahead of its time, receiving praise from other brillant scientists such as Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four.

The head scientist, whose name remains hidden from the Hulk's conscious mind, had been involved in a catastrophic industrial accident.

Months later while researching the apotheosized particle called Dark Matter, the scientist had discovered a new form of energy which was thought to account for 73% of the total mass-energy of the universe. This groundbreaking research caused a revolution in the field of science, and proved that the universe is expanding at an accelerated rate.

This new form of energy is what the unfortunate scientist had absorbed into his body.

Suddenly the Man of Steel was no longer in that abandoned town with the howling beast coming for him but instead was standing in a semi circle with five strangers. A man with a finally stylized goatee and expensive clothing. A woman with bright red hair and wild eyes. A wicked looking beast with a lashing tongue. The last was an intelligent looking man in blue. Several feet away was a massive grey skinned giant. The hulking figure loomed with a body thick with muscle. The creature stood there unmoving, is brutish gaze unflinching. The giant and the black skinned monster immediately registered as a threat to Clark and something inside him screamed at him that he'd have to protect the others from them.

(Ok, my first post as Iron Man. I'm assuming he doesn't have his suit yet...)

Stark blinked, but in this time, he was transported into a circle with various others. He only recognized one, Blue. Among the others, there was a brute-ish looking monster, another monster with a abnormally long tongue, a red-headed beauty, and another man. For now, he was unsure of how to register these other beings, but obviously, the brute and the other monster were classified as a threat. Though for the time being, Stark wouldn't try anything, not that he could.....

[[OOC: enjoy dude its awesome! Also if a fight breaks out I hope its ok for a bit of Supes power to come back. Nothing drastic, promise.]]

Acting on instinct to protect those around him Clark leapt at the monster ready to throw a punch to its jaw for all the good it would do. Amazingly the massive grey creature had surged forward pinning the black skinned beast to the floor. Clark skidded to a stop inches away from where the creature now lay, immobilized on the brutish beasts hand. With the aggressive black monster no longer a threat Clark took a few quick steps back before warning the others.

"Everybody get back, now! If these things want to slug it out, let them but do it from a safe distance."

"Oh, we want to slug it out, Superman, and we'll slug it out right now!!!"

Venom roared into action, launching himself into this...Hulk, bicycle kicking it, before turning its attention towards the "Superman" he had named.

Venom smiled, tentacles flying out its back, feeling the strength inside it..... and pounced towards Superman, planning to use its tentacles to pin him down, barreling towards him at blinding speeds, tongue towards the hero's throat...

"VENOM'S BACK!" the creature roared. "NO MORE BROCK! NO MORE BROCK!" were the last things it screamed before charging into the so dubbed Superman.

Before Venom could rise to his feet and lunge at Clark one massive green hand wrapped itself around Supermans body and held him in thrall. While immobilized The Last Son of Krypton didn't sense any blatant hostility coming from the big green giant as he did with Venom. Instead Clark felt more like the massive creature was serving much as a parent would if they were breaking their two children up from a brawl. Superman contemplated using this new found strength to attempt to break free but instead for a diplomatic approach.

"Ok, easy big guy. Just take it easy. Fights over. Set us down ok?"

Clarks words were calm and soft as if he was trying to talk to a skiddish horse.

[[hehehe oh man yes it was. One of my favorite scenes sir. I take you giggled at the part where Hulk layethed the ever lovin smack down on Loki???? ;] ]]

Clarks gaze flicked from the Giant to Brock. Despite Brocks apology he couldn't help but agree with the big guy. Someone like that was dangerous and he'd have to keep an eye on him. Luckily right now he was calm so Kal-El could put his mind to brainstorming with the others. The genius giant had mentioned something about unlocking our unconscious and the correlation between our pasts and our own personal hardships. Clark's mind drifted back to the images he'd seen during the attack by Venom. The woman mysterious woman. The man bat. The bald man. Obviously people from his past that held deep emotional ties for him. Clark crossed his arms over his chest as he began to think aloud hoping it would help the group.

"I think the big guy might be on to something. When our friend here tired to turn me into lunch I started seeing things. Like snap shots of who I was before. They worked like emotional triggers somehow I think. Without those quick flashbacks I doubt I would've been able to do that."

He said with a thumb behind him at the caved in, Venom sized, crater in the wall.

[[just read up on the Eye of Agamotto and HOLY CRAP when Strange gets that back the Dark Entity is so boned lololol]]

Superman exhaled in frustration at their situation. If he could just remember. Remember who he was, what he was. It felt like it was right there, struggling to break free just under the surface. The closest he'd come to any sort of cohesive memory was during that quick bout but how to recreate it without fighting?

"We have to figure out a way to trip our memories without fighting each other. I'm not risking someone getting hurt."

Clark said. Even in this alternate dimension, alternate reality the heroic Man of Steel still found himself unable to endanger those around him. No matter what evil forces were at work there was nothing that could make Superman go against his own nature. It was that light of truth and justice that burned within him and threatened to chase away the darkness clouding his mind.

Clark arched an eyebrow after the giant called the man Dr. Strange. He just blurted it out as if out of habit. Like he'd done it before. More so he kept repeating it like he was trying to remember something about the name. Clark's gaze went from the muttering green monster to the man now known as Dr. Strange, if that was his name.

"Dr. Strange?... You two know each other?"

Superman asked curiously.

Brock was immediately confused when the Hulk started muttering about Dr Strange, and even more confused when Superman asked if they knew each other. He stood there, really confused....and more flashes of memory burst into his mind.

He remembered his first encounter with the Symbiote, as it latched onto his FBI uniform.

He remembered ....Superman!? fighting a horde of monsters....

He remembered the Green beast kicking the crap outta him....

He remembered Parker chasing him, for some odd reason...

He remembered a man in a Gold and Red suit.....

And, he remembered Dr Strange, with some sort of Medallion around his neck...

"Guys, I think we all used to know each other. I think we all used to work for or against each other. And Blue, Strange, whatever he's called.....wore a medallion."

With that revelation, Brock sat down on the floor, and began transform... but willingly. When he rose again, he looked like a cross between Brock and Venom. A perfect balance. He had the claws, the strength, and a leather jacket, and his feet were different. He looked like he wore a mask, with white eyes, angular in appearance. He had controlled the Alien.

"Dont attack, I'm in control. What do we do next team?" he asked, hoping the genius's would have a solution...

Brock roared in pain when the Hulk slammed into the ground, and was knocked unconscious momentarily by the Hulks slamming, before Venom took over, and detached itself from Brock. It slithered across the floor, crawling towards Clark, and latched onto his leg, empowering him and strengthening him.

"Our name is Venom, Superman" the creature said to the Son of Krypton. "I have temporarily bonded with you, granting you all of my powers, while you keep yours. I will return to Brock when we beat this.....Hulk. Utilize me to your full potential if you want to save the others and survive. And trust me. I may hate everyone but Brock, but I want to die as little as you. So come on Partner. Smash this HULK!!!".

Venom lingered, waiting for Clark Kent's response to this sudden bonding...
