Introduction

An alternate Earth, ruled by Darkness. A world, not dissimilar to our own, where the Hero's of the Marvel and DC Universe's live. Chaos rules, the overwhelming enemies battling the Hero's, all darker, more dangerous, more powerful than their original forms.

Then, they all dissappeared.

The very thing unique about this version of Earth changed. Hero's died, either heroically, or quietly. They retired, announcing it to the world, or just quietly leaving. Some Hero's wouldnt accept the Golden Age was over, and kept fighting, but they were usually labelled as vigilantes and hunted. Even most of the Villains stopped, tired of their constant evading the law. The Earth had entered a new era, without hero's...

Latveria, Wakanda, the United States, China and Germany became the worlds major powers, and a new age was entered.

But every age ends.

With Latveria getting stronger, Victor Von Doom decided it was time to expand his territory. Taking complete control of Eastern Europe, the countries devastated Latveria, leaving no trace of the country.

Now, everyone was on the brink of war, unsure who to trust and why. Chaos rules, and Villains are beginning to return. New York is in the darkest age it has seen in decades, for the first time feeling the full return of criminals.

Then, a group of people with latent powers or skills, witness an event.

An event that changes their lives.

And then they realise that they have to avenge the Golden Age of Hero's.

Its time for Hero's to return.

Enter the Avengers.

"Eddie, Josh has gone. We'll find him later, we need to get to fucking safety NOW. Dont judge me."

Eddie recovered from his state of shock at his friend's sentence. "I'm not, I won't." he replied, his mind more stuck on trying to comprehend what was happening. The whole while they were driving, Eddie was focused on a hypothesis as to why that Rhys could punch something with that force. He never did come up with a true one, but something told him it was due to that machine.

"I'm putting on some tunes, to help clear my head." he said as he reached for the radio. As soon as his hand made contact, it shocked him. "Ow!" he shot, though he didn't really feel anything. It was more of a reaction than from the non-existant pain. The radio seemed to have shorted out, and Eddie figured the car wasn't as good as it looked, shrugging it off and waiting for the car ride to end.

"Eddie, be cool with this guy. He's my boss, we're just here to lie low. Gottit?"

This was the next bit of conversation that Eddie was engaged in, due to the quiet ride up to the manor. "Yeah, I gottit." he replied. Normally, his responses were more than just three or four words, but this wasn't 'normally'.

((OOC: Er... Wade, I don't think we're in the manor just yet...))

Killing high. That's what some people called it. The rush of adrenaline when you're the one standing triumphant, and your broken enemy is no longer a threat. The military trained you against, of course - both to prevent their soldiers from becomming serial murderers and because that 'bulletproof' vibe could get you killed quick - but that didnt mean Kevlar didnt feel it and revel in his brief victory. Why hells -yes- he'd just beaten something out of a Sci-fi horror flick. One down, three to go.

Er... four. The suit - having tagged Carnage as a high priority threat - warns him when the big crimson bruiser starts to move. Not that he couldnt hear that psycho scream. And the others echo it. Time to make with the smarts over the bravado. He doesnt even turn towards the symbiotes, wasting no time in activating the flight jets outfitted into the armor to shoot out paralel to the ground. Only breifly, mind you, so that he can use one hand to scoop up the bundle he'd dropped before doning the suit. Lasher was slowly circling from behind, so good thing he'd taken out the quick one first.

"Remember, kids; a smart man knows when it's time to run like a sissy girl!"

As soon as his hand registers the impact of his cargo, he banks hard, looking to put some of the piled debris between him and the two with the firearms. It would only be a couple of seconds before he was out of range. As much as he hated flying, Kevlar could stomach the twisting turns if it meant keeping his skin intact for another day. Besides, the SHIELD choppers and the NY responders were getting thicker then flies, so something that'd never been a part of his contract in the first place wasnt going to be enough to keep him here and risk his day becomming any worse.

This shite was already too weird for television, and it looked like it wasnt going to be over any time soon.

"Orders received." Agent Black relays, watching the large red symbiote close in for the kill. The armored fighter however was no fool, he tucked and ran..the only smart move he had- Out numbered and out gunned he was lucky to have managed to wound Riot before Carnage got mixed into the mess. Kevlar had a guardian angel watching over him somewhere, or a lucky horse shoe nailed to his ass. Whatever that pause was that had effected Carnage had saved the man's life; Scorn's abilities mixed with Carnage would have turned that suit into a handy coffin.

Weapon ready he takes aim.

Phage was the real sniper of the group, could hit a target over a mile away- several times. There was no real comparison when you listed Phage against marksmen either in the military or in the civilian world, it just wasn't fair. To say that Agent Black was about half as good then was paying a large compliment then. The weapon proved to be a high tech model of positron rifle- it fired a complex burst of energy, harmless to most but keyed to trigger special devices inside the host bodies of Mercury Team. The first shot triggers Murphy and Axelson, as they were standing near each other. Instantly the two writhe in pain, electrical currents pulsing through their bodies. The symbiotes go into shock, retracting to hide from the energy at play, and letting the soldiers regain control of themselves.

Carnage whirls, catching sight of the two, and releasing a hiss. Something was going on, something had just taken away two of his soldiers. A split second later and Lasher goes down, clutching it's head as the currents send it's muscles into spasms. Simms is revealed, as the green suit sinks into his flesh. By now Murphy and Axelson had recovered enough to sit up and point twin weapons at Carnage, the silver pistol like devices emitting a high pitched whine as they charge.

"Sorry boss. Gotta contain the sucker." Murphy calls out, triggering his device as Axelson does the same.

A wave of sonic distortion sweeps out, slamming into Carnage like a train...and does nothing. The red monster had curled in on itself, expecting the worst, only to chuckle in surprise as the pulse of sonic force only passes onward. The mixture of Scorn and Carnage had somehow become immune to the effects of sonic vibrations- a common weakness in the symbiote race. It was known that only two things were good at dealing with the aliens, heat and sonics.

"Heh, well now. Look who's got a few new tricks. Who says you can't teach an old do-" the rest is cut off as Riot tries heat.

As soon as the connection between the others had been severed by the electrical charge Riot had regained control of itself and was once again working with it's host, Odgen. The two had limped about, gathering a few objects while everyone was busy, and was ready with a present- a simple weapon known as a Molotov cocktail. The glass bottle flips end over end, flaming rag hanging out it's opening, before smashing into a ball of fire at the feet of Carnage. The result of gasoline harvested from the nearby ambulance and the rag's flaming tip causes in immediate burst of flames. Carnage is not happy.

Weakened by the heat, and hurt from the fire Carnage leaps away, towards the wounded Riot- only to drop into a twitching and spasming heap as Agent Black lands a shot on the beast's device, activating the mini generator. In moments Tanis Nieves is once again herself, both the symbiotes retreated deep into her body and mind. This was not over yet, Carnage was still in her, and until she had it removed she was a danger to her team.

"Mission accomplished, calling for evac..have quarantine personnel on standby. Dr Nieves will need to be sterilized and Carnage removed." Black radios in, taking the rifle apart, Axelson and Murphy below gathering what bits of the generator remain, while Riot takes a much needed rest. Simms takes on the job of herding survivors towards the waiting ambulance- the responding evac team could grab who they wanted.

----------------------------------------------------------

He was tired of waiting, the hired help had been sent in to 'test the waters' they said, to gauge response. His time was coming, they said. In his honest opinion, they SAID a lot, and did little. Slipping on his uniform, and adjusting the collar to sit the way he liked, the black-clad man waits. His time was coming, and his would not be a wrath to take lightly. The ship was invisible, the light bent about it's massive frame by a series of complex mirrors and an unexplainable energy source. Hovering in place, simply denying any radar the ability to locate it. The grand vessel had carried those armored troops into battle, and worse yet it held still.

Clenching his fist, making the ballistic material creak softly, Kreig begins his daily training.

The lower deck of the ship had been designed with something known as the 'Danger Room' in mind, though Kreig had no idea what that meant- to him all the lower deck meant was holographic based training. The cyborgs meant he didn't have to hold back. For the moment he chose not to wear his coat, seeing it's weight as a hindrance, rather than as the armored protection the thick material provided. If need be he had other protection.

Entering the room he pressed a section of wall, activating the system.

"Voice recognition, activate program. Set level for acht. Volle leistung." he wanted it set for level eight, and at full power. Instantly the computer complies, and activates the simulation. Kreig sets about, obliteration training bots and defending against the weapons. He was ready for these Americans, he would shatter them and laugh for the Vaterland, his Fatherland. The severity of his training soon causes alarms to sound, and the simulation to be interrupted, lest the man rupture the hull. He was ready alright.

Suddenly as Rhys and Eddie stood by the front door of Wayne Manor the security system went haywire, buzzing and blinking on and off, and acting out in other peculiar ways. Those within the mansion were free from any knowledge of the coming phenomenon-The two weary and confused visitors were completely exposed to the intense flickering dome of Bluwaves which pulsated and then quickly dissipated before their astonished eyes, leaving in its wake a stunned and confused Joshua Thomas.

Turning their heads to the left side of the mansion Eddie and Rhys discover their friend, who seemed physically drained, with one hand on his forehead and the other pressed against the building to hold himself up.

Stumbling toward them.

Joshua's eyes slowly adapted to the far more familiar spectrum of light, so vastly different was the shinning terrestrial sun to that of the mysterious Bluwaves which had momentarily engulfed him-Though necessary were those Bluwaves to the transformation of Joshua Thomas into the Astral Spectre, as he would eventually discover.

Joshua had no idea how he wound up at Wayne Manon, nor did he remember the small glowing enclosure from whence he came. Joshua staggered toward his two friends with his hands clasped over his face, as the last remnants of the Bluwaves drained from his eyes. Now looking directly at his two companions as they too witnessed the bluish tinge fade away-Joshua now fully and strangely back to normal as if nothing had happened.

"How the hell did I get here?"

With that the front door of Wayne Manor opened.

Kevlar was pleased.

Well, for the most part. He hated flying. No cover, precious little control between you and spiraling, splatty death...and your entire day could be fecked by taking a pigeon to the face. But at least he was the one in control of the suit, rather then a passenger. Speaking of passengers, he had one by the back of the jacket now, who was mercifully very still. Kevlar had snagged his target running from the epicenter of the chaos; a living example just as requested. Fortunately, after a breif struggle, Kevlar had only had to remind his captive that getting free from his grasp meant a one-way ticket several stories straight down. Things were quiet after that. Under his other mechanically advantaged arm, he carried several large and small chunks of exploded technology as he approached the hidden fortress of the LVA, keeping low to avoid detection before making a final approach when all was clear and the massive thing was aware that he was a friendly.

The deck is organized chaos, of course. Other ironman suits hadnt faired as lucky in open combat during the incident. The dead and injured were already carted away, but there was still the heavy smell of metal and blood. Several technicians in clean white coats and Hazmat hoods are waiting for him and his cargo, carefully handling and packing the twisted - and potentially still radioactive - debris. Kevlar was a smart man, but his intelligence was firmly rooted in what might be called 'practical applications', so the theoretical techno-babble of the scientists just makes him go slightly cross-eyed as they chatter amongst themselves before disappearing entirely with their new toys. Another set, with guards, relieves him of his breathing cargo, and finally Kevlar is able to get out of the tin monkey suit.

"How did she do, moi droog?" My friend. Another tech appears at his elbow as a high-tech bracket uses its series of rotating arms to remove the suit, thick Russian accent screwing with the broken English. Most of the LVA was eastern bloc. He was probably one of very few exceptions.

Kevlar gives himself a shake, like a dog dispersing water, when he is free. Damn coffin, is what that thing was. Couldnt feel the air, couldnt smell, couldnt hear but what was filtered in... The cold altitude air of the hangar prickling through his armored tactical uniform was a goddamn blessing, and he relished in being able to see with his own eyes again. He was a covert operative, not a damn tank.

"It moves pretty good, for a refridgerator." He replies in Russian, easing the communications barrier and suprising the mechanic, "Four of those symbiote things at once, only took one solid hit. Got one, got out of town. Not my primary to kill the whole pack."

Looking over the metal, the mechanic shakes his head, "She has a powerful flamethrower, yes? Why rely on the microwave burst? The shorter range-"

"Why'd you have the liver and onions at lunch?" Kevlar interrupts and frowns at the man. The expression is confined to his green eyes - he was still wearing his belacava - but it's still a chilling stare, "I didnt ask how you work, dont ask me why I do what I do."

The mechanic ducks his head and suddenly seems very involved in the readout of a screen in front of him. Kevlar snorts and collects the gear he'd been unable to wear inside the suit before walking away, pulling off the shroud around his head. Off with the gloves, next, so he can run a clean(er) hand through the shock of blood-red hair on his head, beginning to relax from the completion of the mission.

"Chow." he suddenly decides to himself, back in English again, turning towards the bowels of the ship where one might find a galley.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Yeah, sorry guys.

Due to unforseen events I have been away for an extended time...guess this died in the meantime.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Broc wherever you are, Im going to go ahead ad put up my installment, hope to see you there

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Brocs not here so I cant edit this but....this rpg is closed, going to start over again at some point.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Where the hell is our rpg broc lol

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Sweet. Toss the link in here and I'll be right over. I fail at finding RPs on this board. x_x

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

I'll have it up tomorrow. My guy is going to be a wolverine like character called "Wolf". He can change the shape of his bones in any shape he wants, and can turn his skin into bone, but due to the Weapon X program, that both Deadpool, Lady Deathstrike, Wolverine and now Wolf were subjected to, his bones, and his skin due to his ability to turn his skin into bone, has become adamantium, turning him into a mixture of the hero's Wolverine, Colossus and Spike.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Im itching to start posting on something. I already have the next one ready :)

Found this, and it gave me an idea for a future rpg

Dark Avengers: Death Masks

Image

Only one masked superhero will survive! But who will it be?

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Yar. Brock, you going to head up the thread creation? Other then the X-men and the Sentinels I got no idea where you be goin, plot-wise.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Thanks Broc. I decided to use Night afterall, but Im making him all black and giving him a different history, as I understand it the original Nightcrawler is dead, and now another verson of him has taken his place. So that gave me an idea for an new versio still. Yeah I saw Az, same abilities, just stronger. So Im making my version and making him stronger also, except for the beam thing, I dont want him that poweful, he's more of a fighter.

I can just picture him on one leg, with a sword in both hands, tail, and spare foot, taking on a bunch of guys....and doing pretty good :)

It is going to be beyond epic....beyond epi'licious'ness even

Looking forward to reading up on your chars

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Dang, ask and ye shall receive. He sounds pretty awesome. My chick is an original. Hydro kinetic type and descended from a long line of IRA officers fled to America. Prof X might not think its such a great idea to bring a bomber in, but she's got a badass skill set in underground guerilla warfare, and an established support structure of her fellows. She already knows what it's like to be persecuted to shite. And her powers ain't no slouch, either.

Getting excited to kick this off. It's going to be epic.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Nightcrawlers father, Azazel, often mistaken for Satan, or the Devil, a Villain with villainous, but not evil, intentions. He has roughly the same powers as Nightcrawler, just to a larger extent, and can fire destructive bolts out of his hands.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azazel_(Marvel_Comics)

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

he is the guy behind dr midnite, i need a superhero or villian with a tail, besdies nightcrawler

http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2 ... eII_08.jpg

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

He might turn out more of an alternate Nightcrawler char

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Sounds like fun times. Mine's from an old x-men chat I used to be a part of. She might tweak a few political feathers, but what's a character without a little controversy? Just let me know when we kick this off, maybe slap a link into this forum, and I'll be on it like a fat kid on cake.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Think I have an idea for a cool original character based on NightCrawler, a bad guy turned good, by having all his sins burned away in hell :)

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Ill have to do a little research on the X-Men and mutants in order to create a new character. Sounds cool though. We should contact Nox.

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Heck yeah. Got an old mutant toon I can totally work with that's a lot of fun to play. I'd have to do a bit of work to fiddle out an anti-mutant sort...

Re: Dark Avengers: The New Generation.

Yeah, I meant for Professor X to recruit a brand new team of mutants, against a new Anti-Mutant regime starting up again, Sentinels and all.
