New York. A city that always used to have Hero's to protect it, a city that always seemed to be of paramount importance to Hero's and Villain's alike. A city that is dying, slowly, suffocating due to the lack of people there to protect it. Crime rules. Terrorism is commonplace. Military often comes in and declares quarantine on random buildings. There is only one thing the people of New York can take comfort from-most of the SuperVillain's have gone too. A Man in an Eye patch watches the City, in a building overlooking Times Square. He has set up an event. A test, if you will. A large crowd will gather at Times Square to see the unveiling of a brand new energy source developed by both Wayne and Stark Enterprises. Then, he would trigger the event, and hope that everything went to plan. He had people on standby ready to attack should terrorists show up, and already a crowd was gathering, not realising what was about to happen. An event that would change everything, forever. The Man in the Eye Patch smiled. Soon, New York would have its Hero's....and it's Villain's.

((I want everyones characters to wake up and head to New York, to see this new energy source. I will activate the event when we are all there.))

The Man in the Eye patched looked on in horror at the explosion. Thousands of people dead. But what scared him more was the huge wave of blue energy sent out in the explosion, a form of radiation called "Bluwaves".

Although a vast amount of people disintegrated as the Bluwave swept across Times Square, a few survived. The Man in the Eye Patch was impressed that people had the durability to survive the power and force of the Bluewave. The Generator was designed to slowly release radiation to activate certain genes that would improve the human population for a huge, world destroying force that was coming (no, its not Galactus, its a more deadly, evil alien force, team!). However, the resulting explosion meant that only a small amount of people would survive, maybe a few hundred, but, their powers would be vastly increased, and any latent powers they might have had would have activated. He wasn't sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing. He spoke to his Symbiote Kill Squad, lead by Tanis Nieves, or Scorn, and gave her some instructions.

"Scorn, you and your team get any pieces of the generator you can find, and pick up 5 to 7 survivors for inspection, and bring them back to HeadQuarters. We need to find out what the implications of this are. Fury out."

And with that, Nick relaxed in his chair, witnessing the apocalypse...

Such a simple action wouldn't cut it with Riot- The symbiote was a skilled combatant on it's own, and had been bonded to Odgen for quite some time..by now gaining some of his tactical training. Speed was the creature's specialty, but physical acceleration was only part of it- the mind had to be just as fast in order to compensate for extreme velocity. Riot had time to see the now armored foe's shift in stance, the bracing that was needed for his sudden attack...and had time to prepare accordingly. The lunge was not a fancy movement, it was brute force in it's most base, Kevlar must not be familiar with combating a symbiote if he thought such simple tactics would work.

Add to that the fact that he faced multiple opponents.

While he made his lunge at Riot, who had not come alone- the pack moved as one, he forgot to pay attention to the others. The rush/fist lunge was easily dodged as Riot simply sidestepped at the last moment, it's superior speed making the grey symbiote blur to the left..as Lasher strikes from the right. The two monsters were used to fighting together, often times the two were used as the main assault force while Phage and Agony hung back to provide cover. As such the two had perfect coordination as a battle pair. Lasher's brute force mixed with Riot's pure speed made a dangerous combo.

Lasher's strike comes in the form of a violent open-handed swing towards Kevlar's right side, the taloned fingers spread wide to assist in ripping a hole in the metal armor. Seeing as the 'bull-rush' would require motion to add to it's impact inertia, Kevlar would have stepped INTO the group of symbiotes in order to strike at Riot, the group moving in one charging mass. Riot's side step would have carried it out of the path of the linear attack, and set the symbiote up to strike the exposed left side as Lasher struck the right- the two's actions coming at the same time, as if the two were one.

The armored hide would protect Kevlar from most damage, it was a better suit than the others that had attacked, but all armor had chinks- all metals had stress points and weaknesses. Riot set out to discover this armor's Achilles Heel. Stepped to the side, the right knee would rise in a swift motion, one nearly undetectable by normal means due to the accelerated speed, aimed to drive into the exposed abdomen of the armor at a force equal to a small car impact, as force is equal to mass times acceleration- the knee was moving at roughly 90 mph. Should the strike impact the knee would jerk back, only to be sent impacting back into the same area- these strikes would continue, roughly one every half-second until Kevlar either defended, moved or the armor broke. As an added bonus to the strikes one should keep in mind the composition of the symbiotes since being altered by Carnage- spikes and blades sprouting from various places. Riot had a six inch spike protruding from the striking knee's surface, with a three inch diameter at the base- more a sharp cone in essence.

The twin strikes were bound to result in some form of reaction- Action necessitated it after all, the impacts alone would be enough to possibly stagger the armored opponent, depending on suit weight. Should the strikes go unresisted, or resisted improperly the twin impacts would meet the target as one, the first knee strike driving the spike into the armor's surface while the claw slash from Lasher sent precision points of impact trauma against the other side's shell. Together the actions would be slamming into the armor with the force of a shotgun blast mixed with a car crash. There would be damage.

If Kevlar managed to avoid harm, or minimize it somehow, the rest of the symbiotes would not be found waiting in line...they were already moving into position.

Phage and Agony specialize in long to mid range combat, but can handle up close as needed. It would be no surprise then that the two had split off, hanging back a few steps as the group met with Kevlar in combat, both raising their weapons in perfect synchronization. Agony's rail-gun, now being super charged by the influence of Carnage would be a force to reckon with, the weapon's force being multiplied by several magnitudes. Phage however had changed ammo- instead of firing off standard bullets it had slotted in a mag of what on a closer inspection would be revealed as hollow tipped rounds. The reasoning behind this was simple- Phage was feeding it's mass into each round. The Carnage taint had allowed each of the symbiotes to take advantage of it's ability to use it's mass as limited projectiles, the mass functioning for almost thirty seconds after leaving the whole.

Wasting no time Agony opens fire, followed three points of a second later by Phage unloading five rounds.

The effect would be a projectile flying at Kevlar's center of mass, about nine inches above where Riot's knee was headed, moving several times faster than the speed of sound. Immediately after impact, should it occur, the five precision shots would impact either into exposed flesh or into weakened armor, likely becoming that proverbial straw on the armor's back and rupturing through. Upon contact with either skin of blood the bits of symbiote mass would multiply, feeding off of the wound or dead cells of the skin and spread...in moments covering the man fully inside the armor and allowing Carnage to directly affect his mind.

Kevlar's main mistake had been charging in, there was a reason most people run away- superior numbers of a skilled force is always an advantage. Sure the armor was built to fight symbiotes, but it assumed the wearer ALSO was prepared to fight them. It took a special tactical mind to out think a group of trained killers...running at them with your fists out was not a sound plan. Even if Kevlar somehow escaped this unharmed he would now know better...and perhaps realize that escape is his best option.

----------------------------------------------

Agent Black received his orders, but he didn't like them. The darkness in his mind looked upon that red devil down there with a combination of shame and anger- it saw it's own failures reflected in that thing's madness. The symbiote wanted to go down there, it wanted to fight..it wanted to assist Mercury Team. But the wearer understood his orders, he understood that to allow the suit to wear HIM instead of the other way around was the route to slavery.

"Acknowledged. Will observe- the unknown man has entered a suit of similar make to those that the team fought, and has entered into melee combat with Lasher and Riot. Phage and Agony are staying back to provide medium range support. Carnage seems content to just watch for now. Sir, we need to get Scorn separated from that monster...if Carnage realizes it's gained her immunity to sonics we are in a whole heap of trouble." the dark figure reports, resisting the pull of Venom still, his hand gripping the handle of his weapon case tighter. In a moments notice he could pop the case open and have weapon in hand- faster than most would expect. It was a blue moon when someone got the drop on Agent Black.

CRACK!

The strike to Riot's leg snapped the bone, causing the leg to bend at an awkward angle. Symbiote screaming, the injured creature pushes off with it's intact leg- exiting the fight to nurse it's wound. Due to the healing properties of the symbiotes it is a minor thing, only a set back to overcome. Already the tissues surrounding the break swell with fluid, keeping pressure on the wound, forcing the bone back in line. In a matter of hours or so the leg will be good as new, though still sore for a time. Riot will not forget this.

Lasher's strike misses slightly, from the turning actions of Kevlar, but the symbiote is fine with this- it's own momentum would allow the fighter to twist it's own waist and leap away from the heat of the incoming rail-shot. The team had worked together for years, Agony had expected Lasher to move, and was not disappointed. Lasher comes up from the leaps roll, turning to face the armored foe again, though with about four to five feet between them. Grinning savagely the symbiote allows rows of spikes to pop up along the surface of it's arms, the creature was not done with the fight.

The rounds had impacted, but the microwaves emitted from the suit quickly fried off the projected mass that Phage had added as payload. An unfortunate set back, but one not without it's own small victory- they were learning the suit's functions. Through trial and error they were putting together a detailed assessment of the suit's capabilities. Soon they would have enough information to move with purpose towards a weakness. As stated before, all metals had stress points, all armor had chinks; Mercury Team was patient and cunning. They would wear down the armored man, and in the end if he did not flee they would take him.

Carnage watched, it's mind occupied however, leaving the team without the most potent weapon..but already a haze seemed to be leaving the oddly hued red symbiote...awareness seemed to be seeping back in, as the grin grows wider by the second. It seemed the internal war was coming to a close, but what side would come out on top?

----------------------------------------

'Riot is hurt. Your fault.'

'No, you sent him over there..'

'And you did nothing to stop it.'

'Shut up! Just shut up! Get out of my head!'

'Why? We are just getting started..'

If you won't go away, atleast make yourself useful! That suit can tear my team apart...but my-our abilities will render that thing useless.'

'Why didn't you say so earlier, coulda had this party done by now.'

'Is this wise?'

'No, but it's all we got.'

'Lets rock and roll ladies.'

------------------------------------------

With a jerk, and a twitch...Carnage is moving.

The red creature moves like lightning, dashing towards the conflict, letting lose a savage roar. Kevlar would hear it..and would know that things just got that much worse. The other symbiotes respond, letting out roars of their own..preparing a massive attack to aid the incoming madness. Phage slaps in a new mag, filled with depleted uranium tipped rounds- anti armor. Agony takes aim with the rail-gun, spinning up the weapon's generator. Lasher grins and hisses, moving to circle the armored man slowly, waiting for the signal...the strike that was coming was going to be quick and hard, seeking to end things before the metal clad warrior figured out any more special controls.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Agent Black sighed, seeing the red symbiote on the move again, shaking his head. The creature's lack of action had led to hopes that it would just stay put and behave- foolish hopes, but the Agent was known for his hopeless dreams. With a jerk the case falls open, the handle activating a hidden mechanism. Kneeling down Agent Black begins putting together a weapon. It's nature unknown, though it's long barrel would suggest it was a form of sniper rifle.

"Control, we have a man down, Riot looked to take a broken femur, but I can see him in some rubble licking his wounds- assessment is he will recover. Carnage is on the move, the team has begin what looks like a set-up for Carnage to get in close. They mean to open up a window and let the monster have it's way. Longsword is operational, do I have permission to take the shot?"

"Orders received." Agent Black relays, watching the large red symbiote close in for the kill. The armored fighter however was no fool, he tucked and ran..the only smart move he had- Out numbered and out gunned he was lucky to have managed to wound Riot before Carnage got mixed into the mess. Kevlar had a guardian angel watching over him somewhere, or a lucky horse shoe nailed to his ass. Whatever that pause was that had effected Carnage had saved the man's life; Scorn's abilities mixed with Carnage would have turned that suit into a handy coffin.

Weapon ready he takes aim.

Phage was the real sniper of the group, could hit a target over a mile away- several times. There was no real comparison when you listed Phage against marksmen either in the military or in the civilian world, it just wasn't fair. To say that Agent Black was about half as good then was paying a large compliment then. The weapon proved to be a high tech model of positron rifle- it fired a complex burst of energy, harmless to most but keyed to trigger special devices inside the host bodies of Mercury Team. The first shot triggers Murphy and Axelson, as they were standing near each other. Instantly the two writhe in pain, electrical currents pulsing through their bodies. The symbiotes go into shock, retracting to hide from the energy at play, and letting the soldiers regain control of themselves.

Carnage whirls, catching sight of the two, and releasing a hiss. Something was going on, something had just taken away two of his soldiers. A split second later and Lasher goes down, clutching it's head as the currents send it's muscles into spasms. Simms is revealed, as the green suit sinks into his flesh. By now Murphy and Axelson had recovered enough to sit up and point twin weapons at Carnage, the silver pistol like devices emitting a high pitched whine as they charge.

"Sorry boss. Gotta contain the sucker." Murphy calls out, triggering his device as Axelson does the same.

A wave of sonic distortion sweeps out, slamming into Carnage like a train...and does nothing. The red monster had curled in on itself, expecting the worst, only to chuckle in surprise as the pulse of sonic force only passes onward. The mixture of Scorn and Carnage had somehow become immune to the effects of sonic vibrations- a common weakness in the symbiote race. It was known that only two things were good at dealing with the aliens, heat and sonics.

"Heh, well now. Look who's got a few new tricks. Who says you can't teach an old do-" the rest is cut off as Riot tries heat.

As soon as the connection between the others had been severed by the electrical charge Riot had regained control of itself and was once again working with it's host, Odgen. The two had limped about, gathering a few objects while everyone was busy, and was ready with a present- a simple weapon known as a Molotov cocktail. The glass bottle flips end over end, flaming rag hanging out it's opening, before smashing into a ball of fire at the feet of Carnage. The result of gasoline harvested from the nearby ambulance and the rag's flaming tip causes in immediate burst of flames. Carnage is not happy.

Weakened by the heat, and hurt from the fire Carnage leaps away, towards the wounded Riot- only to drop into a twitching and spasming heap as Agent Black lands a shot on the beast's device, activating the mini generator. In moments Tanis Nieves is once again herself, both the symbiotes retreated deep into her body and mind. This was not over yet, Carnage was still in her, and until she had it removed she was a danger to her team.

"Mission accomplished, calling for evac..have quarantine personnel on standby. Dr Nieves will need to be sterilized and Carnage removed." Black radios in, taking the rifle apart, Axelson and Murphy below gathering what bits of the generator remain, while Riot takes a much needed rest. Simms takes on the job of herding survivors towards the waiting ambulance- the responding evac team could grab who they wanted.

----------------------------------------------------------

He was tired of waiting, the hired help had been sent in to 'test the waters' they said, to gauge response. His time was coming, they said. In his honest opinion, they SAID a lot, and did little. Slipping on his uniform, and adjusting the collar to sit the way he liked, the black-clad man waits. His time was coming, and his would not be a wrath to take lightly. The ship was invisible, the light bent about it's massive frame by a series of complex mirrors and an unexplainable energy source. Hovering in place, simply denying any radar the ability to locate it. The grand vessel had carried those armored troops into battle, and worse yet it held still.

Clenching his fist, making the ballistic material creak softly, Kreig begins his daily training.

The lower deck of the ship had been designed with something known as the 'Danger Room' in mind, though Kreig had no idea what that meant- to him all the lower deck meant was holographic based training. The cyborgs meant he didn't have to hold back. For the moment he chose not to wear his coat, seeing it's weight as a hindrance, rather than as the armored protection the thick material provided. If need be he had other protection.

Entering the room he pressed a section of wall, activating the system.

"Voice recognition, activate program. Set level for acht. Volle leistung." he wanted it set for level eight, and at full power. Instantly the computer complies, and activates the simulation. Kreig sets about, obliteration training bots and defending against the weapons. He was ready for these Americans, he would shatter them and laugh for the Vaterland, his Fatherland. The severity of his training soon causes alarms to sound, and the simulation to be interrupted, lest the man rupture the hull. He was ready alright.
