Kallipso is a unique woman, and most people who have lived over two thousand years are bound to be a little crazy. Kallipso is known for having two very different sides of herself. On the one hand, she can be rather childish and immature. She likes to tease those around her with her dry humour or sarcasm. She rarely gets angry and can dismiss any problem with a shrug and a laugh.

On the other hand, Kallipso is the true ruler of the Vampire species, and that title comes with a lot of expectations. Most are used to her immature, silly self, but when she really needs to step up and be responsible, it all changes. She drops the act and becomes someone worthy of leading. She is a vampire; cold and calculated and though it may seem that she's always off in la la land, behind that facade she is always scheming and speculating everyone's actions and words.

Kallipso is rather intelligent, and having lived over two thousand years, she has had time to build quite the knowledge base. Some may consider her the youngest of the dark species leaders, but in reality she is one of the oldest and knows much more than she lets on. Kallipso is like a walking history book, and since she travelled all over the world she knows multiple languages and information from various cultures and time periods.

Legend states that Vampires have existed for as long as humans have roamed the earth. It is said the original vampires were born from humans who had died terrible, unrighteous deaths. Becoming undead is both a gift and a curse from whatever higher being there is. They would be able to live forever and wreak havoc on all those that spited them, but they ended up with terrible blood lust and a weakness to the daylight. Kallipso Stamos was one of these original cases. She was born in 428 BC in the midst of the Greek war between Athens and Sparta. From a young age she had been taken into slavery and passed between families as a peasant worker.

At the age of sixteen Kallipso was given to her last family, consisting of a rich couple and their handful of eight children. Kallipso and the other servants at this residence were treated poorly and were often beaten and sexually harassed by the older boys of the household for their sick fun and pleasure. In the midst of this Kallipso made friends with a another one of the girl slaves, a smaller girl named Arianna. The two were each others best friends and even lovers; each others first loves. They were there for each other despite the hardships they faced. Arianna was the world to Kallipso.

When the war got worse, the household that the two girls were working under took great losses and lost much money. Due to this, they needed to sell away some of their servants and Arianna happened to be one of them. Kallipso and Arianna had learned of this and had planned to run away together and never come back. The night of their escape, Kallipso and Arianna were split up when they were caught sneaking out by soldiers on patrol. Arianna had made it to their meeting point that night, but Kallipso never did. Kallipso had been caught and tortured relentlessly to give up the information of where Arianna had been hiding, but no matter what Kalliso wouldnt give up. Eventually her body couldnt take any more of the pain and Kallipso died. Her body was dumped in a river outside of town and she was left to rot.

This is when the spectacular happened, Kallipso reawoke from the dead with much more power and anger than she had in life. Her bloodlust was unquenchable and she sought out all of those who had wronged her in the past and drained them of their blood; the family she had worked under and all of the soldiers who had caused her and Arianna's separation. It took a few years after that for Kallipso to fully understand her new body with all its new powers and weaknesses. She then set out on her journey to find Arianna and be reunited, but the times had changed for Arianna and when Kallipso had finally found her hiding out in Manchuria, Arianna had changed. She was older and had started a family with a kind looking man who treated her well. Kallipso was hurt, but she couldnt blame the woman she loved for moving on. Kallipso was supposed to be dead afterall.

With not much else to live for, Kallipso wandered the world in search for others like her. Eventually she found others of her kind and learned that by not draining a body of all its blood there was the possibility of creating more of her kind. Her and a few others of the originals holed up in England, Canada and then America, changing and teaching new vampires. Eventually there was too many and they were in need of a leader. Kallipso hadnt originally planned to run all of the vampires, but the other original vampires had no interest. Thus it fell onto her shoulders.

Since then, Kallipso has grown into her role as the Vampire covens leader and her reign is well known and supported by all vampires. She keeps them as well fed as possible with the uprising of black metal and keeps them as safe as possible from hunters. If anyone else were in her position it is quite possible that the Vampires would be extinct.
