Protected by magic and older than any town in America, Pine Field has ancient ties to the supernatural. Unaware of the true town history, humans believe their quaint town is like any other, but how wrong they are. At first glance, it is the picturesque Summer destination spot, but upon a closer look, Oak Pines has more to offer than many are willing to believe.

Seemingly detached from the history of the world to the naked eye. A small town where everyone knows one another and families boast secretly about being the first Americans before the Pilgrims came to settle. The picturesque summer destination spot hosts great seafood, beautiful architecture, and a generous landscape being surrounded by forest or ocean on either side. To visitors, it is a place to relax, but for the residents, they know that their pretty little town holds something more.

The residents of Pine Field can be quite strange. There are those that keep more to themselves than others and odd occurrences are always coming up. Weather patterns don’t make sense here. Inexplicable things happen in an otherwise typical town and it raises the question of just what lies beneath the surface.

The truth of the supernatural was classified information that only the six remaining council members have access to. When the worlds eye landed on the small town because of the strange occurrences the council took it upon themselves to. Since the return of the last descendant of the original founder of Pine Field the council has become unpredictable, and for a good reason, they are no longer the ones pulling the strings.

The council is being influenced by the King of hell himself, and he is after one thing, the one power he never had. The Power the Shape Shifters posses. He, however is not the only one after this, many beings in the supernatural world have been hunting and tracking the Shifters for the power that runs through their blood, both buying and selling it on a black market.

The last Shifter is the Field boy, who returns to Pine Field in order to claim the Pine Field mansion and his families fortune after the mysterious demise of both his Elder brother and Father. After a week of being back he meets a ordinary girl, from an ordinary family, with an ordinary life. When his heart chooses her, he finds it as something to be both feared and grateful for. However, with not only the King of hell after the power he has, he puts himself in more danger than he could imagine just by stepping foot in the town, and consequently pulls her right into the mix of it.

Brooklyn Anderson

It had been raining most of the morning just stopping before the funeral, when they sat down Brooklyn's gave caught Trevor's and she quickly looked away, funerals always made her anxious as she had never lost a member of her own family, didn't know what it was like or how to act, funerals just bothered her in general.

The funeral had been long, Brooklyn had been the only one her father had brought and she knew exactly why. Brooklyn was a young and pretty little thing, her father would often bring her when he was dealing with younger business partners in order to gain their trust and favor. When the service had ended Brooklyn walked up with her father to offer sympathy for the loss, her fathers hand sat gently in the small of her back most would think it was a protective gesture of a father to a daughter but Brooklyn knew how her father played this game and was aware of how he was more showing her off. He had been good friends with Mr. Field but had never met the younger son, he was using Brooklyn to ease that as Trevor was close to her age maybe a couple years older than she was.

After giving his sympathies Christopher looked over at Brooklyn. "This is my daughter Brooklyn." Brooklyn smiled kindly but didn't say a word until her father cleared his throat. "Um..." She started trying to compile the words in her mind. "I didn't know your father well, but I was fairly close to Jake. I'm sorry for your loss, it must be hard." Brooklyn rarely knew what to say to people who had lost a family member. She had never experienced the pain first hand and had no idea how hard it was or what it was like she could only imagine it.

"I want you to go up to the mansion tomorrow. Get to know Trevor a little but more, spend some time with him. I have letters his father wanted me to give to him anyway." Christopher waved it off as if it wasn't a big deal. "I don't think that's a good idea." He laughed a little bit. "Of course it is, flirt with him here and there. You did wonders on his older brother."

"Jake and I were just friends." Brooklyn sighed knowing there was no point in arguing, it was just her fathers ways, he was a business man more than he was a father and always had been that way. She took the letters hesitantly agreeing to drop them off making it clear that would be all she was doing.

Brooklyn walked up the millions of steps that lead up to the Field Manor, the house had always given the creeps. When she got to the large double doors she rang the door bell smiling when Nathan, the house butler opened the door. "Ah, Miss Anderson. How may I help you?" Brooklyn shifted slightly. "I have some letters from Mr. Field for Trevor...My father asked me to bring them." She followed Nathan into the house taking a seat where he gestured for her to sit, she held the letters tightly in her hand while Nathan disappeared to get Trevor. She glanced around the room she was in and knew it was one of the smaller ones in the unreasonably large house.

When Trevor came into the room Brooklyn stood. "My father asked me to bring you these." She started extending the letters to Trevor. "He would have come himself..." she trailed off trying to think of the word to say. "But he was busy." She tucked her hair behind her ear it was more of a habit than anything. "Miss Anderson, can I get you anything?"

"No thank you Nathan." Brooklyn smiled at the man before he disappeared again, sitting down again once Trevor did, she watched him for a few moments before looking down at her hands, she hadn't stepped foot in the house in a very long time. "I think they might be business letters but I'm not sure. It's not really my area."

Throughout the entire funeral Trevor fidgeted with his tie. Trevor was never one for formal wear, and even if it was a funeral he wasn't going to go all out. He wore a simple white dress shirt with a black tie underneath his leather jacket, and a simple pair of blue jeans. Though unlike his usual jeans that he wears these weren't torn. It was a funeral after all. Really the biggest reason he was there, other than being forced there, was to pay his last respects to his brother. He never cared much for his father, and isn't going to pretend he did even in death. While he did get along fairly well with Jake.

The funeral dragged on for what seemed like forever. He would occasionally look around at those who attended, taking particular note of Brooklyn Anderson, the daughter of one of the council members. She seemed rather uncomfortable at the funeral, not that he could blame her. He wasn't exactly in his element either. As the funeral came to an end, and he began to feel the barrage of well wishers as they left. And it finally came to the last well wishers, Mr. Anderson, and his daughter Brooklyn.

"Uh...thanks for the sympathy....Brooklyn." He replied with a slight smile. "I know how....uncomfortable these things can be." He gave her a slight nod, unsure what else to say. "I'll...um...see you around I guess."

"Master Trevor, you have a visitor." Was the first thing that Trevor heard as his butler, Nathan woke him up. Trevor groaned as he got up, and stretched his limbs out, making popping, and cracking noises. "Hey what did I tell you about that Master crap? It's just Trevor, you don't need to treat me any different then some average Joe." Trevor sighed as he got out of his bed.

While he was encouraged to take the master bedroom, which was his father's, Trevor decided to just take his old one. It would be too weird for him. "So who's climbed Mount Olympus to see little ole' me?" He asked as he put on some pants, and his shoes. Miss Anderson, she is the daughter of Councilman Anderson. I believe you met her at the funeral." Nathan answered, with his back turned his back to him to allow him to get dressed. "Oh, right. Brooklyn I think is her name. Did she say what she wanted?" Trevor then began searching around his room for the least smelling shirt.

"She said that she had some letters from your father addressed to you." Nathan answered. "Yeah, not interested. Lawrence nuked the bridge between us long ago when he told me to never come back. Why would I care about some letters he wrote for me?" Trevor stated. "But sir, they could be important documents. It would be rude not to look at them." Nathan replied as he turned back around. Trevor sighed, and rolled his eyes as he followed Nathan back down stairs, and to Brooklyn. As he got closer to her he finished putting on his favorite Nirvana t-shirt, accidentally giving her a glimpse at his chest.

"Hey." He simply greeted. He accepted the letters she had for him with a nod as he stuck them in his pocket. "Uh...thanks. I'll take a look at them later." He stated. "So...uh...you were friends with Jake? If you don't mind if I ask....how was he before he......you know." He asked as he rubbed the back of his head. "I hadn't spoke to him, or anybody really for years....I've always been the black sheep of the family. Doubt anybody talk about me much. Lawrence and I never got along."

Trevor's eyes wondered around the manor, his home that he hasn't set foot in for years. "Man....how much went into this place? Such a waste. I'm content with a warm six pack, and a hot plate. I can think of a hundred better uses for all the resources that it took to make this place." He stated rather out of the blue. "Uh...sorry. It's just....I never wanted to come back to this place. All this money, and material crap has never been my style."

Brooklyn's stomach twisted slightly when Trevor asked about Jake, she shifted trying to get the uncomfortable feeling out of her system, she waited until Trevor stopped speaking before answering him. "Jake wasn't the person everyone here thought he was. Everyone thought he was perfect, everyone wanted to be Jake Field. Big house, rich family, got any girl he wanted."Brooklyn shook her head at the memory. "He seemed frightened...before the day they found him, but he always seemed frightened, always looking over his shoulder. He said something was coming for him. Never told me what. When they found him, my father told me to stay out of it." Brooklyn shrugged a little bit.

"They said it was an animal. They told everyone it was an animal." Brooklyn smiled kindly after a few moments. "Well, enough of the doom and gloom. Jake spoke fondly of you, said he missed you and wished you would come home. Told us never to tell you he said that."

Brooklyn glanced around the place again as Trevor spoke about it. "I've always liked the mansion. I mean it's always kinda freaked me out, but I think its beautiful in its own way."

Brooklyn stayed and talked with Trevor for a while, trying to make him smile and laugh, bring him a little bit of cheer and laughter. She figured it was the least she could do. When the sun started to set she stood up from where they were standing with a small smile. "I should probably get home. My mom worries. I'll see you around."

Brooklyn spent quite a lot of time with Trevor, now she could basically just walk into the mansion as if it were her own home. She knew Trevor was looking for answers about what happened to his father and his brother he told her that much, she thought she would help as much as she could. "Dad told me to bring these for you. Something to do with the town and money, I don't remember I got bored when he was explaining it." Brooklyn smiled placing a whole bunch of files on the table in front of Trevor. "He's out another council meeting. You know you are supposed to go to those right?" She said in a teasing tone trying to get him to smile.

She sat down on the sofa next to him with a bright smile and a little laugh gently bumping her shoulder into his. "We should go into town today, you never leave this place. It's not healthy. I promised to take Elijah to the park this afternoon. You should come, I'm sure a few of my other siblings will want to join us, they can be hard to look after alone, I could use the help." Brooklyn stood up holding her hand out to Trevor, she took his hand pulling him up from the couch. "You'll love Elijah. He's six and is a little sweet heart."

Brooklyn ended up taking the two youngest boys to the park, she stood by Trevor watching them chase each other around. Elijah came over grabbing on of Trevor's hands and one of Brooklyn's pulling them toward the park. "You have to play with us!" It was more of an order than an option which made Brooklyn laugh a little bit.

Halfway through a game of tag a strange group of about four men appeared from the tree line, they didn't exactly look friendly. Brooklyn took Elijah into her arms and pushed Nathaniel behind herself, keeping herself between the men and her younger brother. "You were right." One started to the other. "The other Field boy has found himself a pet." The man sneered, he looked to be about their age but seemed more dangerous, he seemed to have catlike movements which made Brooklyn's stomach churn. "Your brother tried to get her into his bed as well. The only girl he could never get." Another gestured at Brooklyn, her eyes narrowed slightly, she recognized that boy as another one of the councilman's sons, Jackson Brooklyn believed his name was. "You better watch your back Field. Your name isn't the only thing you're the last of and a storm is coming." He chuckled slightly. "The virgin and the outcast, what a story that would make." Brooklyn felt her cheeks heat up with embarrassment more than anger.

They disappeared as fast as they came and before Brooklyn could react Trevor had hold of her wrist and was walking the other direction. "Trevor, whats going on? Who were they? What were they talking about?" Brooklyn looked over her shoulder to make sure Nathaniel was following behind them, she pulled her arm from Trevor's grip forcing him to turn around, she searched his face for a few moments. She placed Elijah on the ground beside Nathaniel going up to Trevor, she gently brushed his hard from his face, it was the motherly nature in her, clearly something was wrong. "Whats going on?"
