"I refuse to let humanity just go down without a fight."

❝The Basics❞

Image| Full Name |
"Me and Pip both got stuck with shitty names." Griffin Thomas Frost

Nickname
"I really don't like being called Griffin." Griffin's not a huge fan of his name, so he typically goes by Fin or Frost. Most people don't even know his real name, and only Pippa used to be allowed to call him Griff, or, when she wanted to tease him, Finny. Other than this, there's not many ways you can shorten his name, so he's sort of stuck with it. If you want to call him by his real name, he won't kill you, he's just not a huge fan. As for pet names, he really doesn't have a preference. He uses them a lot, so he doesn't really mind if you use them for him.

Age
"Old enough." Twenty-Two

Gender
"Ouch, babe." Male

Role
"I'm going to bring them down if it kills me." Human Hunter | Boy Two

❝The Disguise❞

Image
Image
Eye color
"They're nothing special." Griff's eyes are a warm chocolate color. The dark brown/honey color of caramel that appear open and warm until you get to know him on a personal level, then you'll quickly discover that, while his eyes appear friendly and inviting, he certainly is not.

Hair Color
"I always thought Pip was nuts for dying her hair hot pink." Fin's hair, like his eyes, is a dark brown color. It's not quite as black as Pippa's is naturally, as it has some of his mother's sandy blonde color streaking it, making it a little lighter than his sisters. It's a little long, but swept back, out of his eyes, always looking tousled and messy.

Skin Tone
"I tan easily." Unlike his sister, Griffin isn't pale, and, in fact, people are often surprised to find out they're related, because there's very little about them that' similar. She takes after their father with her black locks and pale skin while he takes after their mother with his lighter hair and tanned skin. Even in the dead of winter, he's fairly tanned, even if he doesn't go out in the sun much anymore.

Height & Weight
"I keep in shape." Fin keeps himself in shape, always training and fighting, so it's safe to say, he's built like an athlete, standing at a full height of 6'1" with a full, sturdy figure complete with washboard abs.

Distinct Markings
Scars
"I can do it, but I'm not going to lie and say taking down a vampire is easy." When it comes to scars, Griffin has more than just a few. He's been fighting vampires for almost ten years now, and, as any idiot could tell you, a vampire is not an easy target, making them tough opponents. It's safe to say that he has many scars. His hands are calloused and rough and multiple thin white scars lace his back. He also had three large slash marks across the left side of his chest that he got from the Princess's Royal Mutt once, and he has a bullet scar on his right side. The bullet nearly killed him, as it ripped through several major organs. He also has a scar running up the inside of his arm and a bite scar on his neck that he got from fighting the first vampire he killed. She nearly Turned him, but luckily, he was able to kill her before he passed out so he never went through the change.
Piercings
"Nah, piercings are not my thing." Griffin doesn't have any piercings.
Tattoos
"Don't love them, but I've got a few." Griffin has three tattoos. His first tattoo is of a large griffin across his left shoulder. His second is on the side of his hand, and reads "Burn it down" in a complex cursive font. And his final tattoo is a snake tattoo on his side, the loop wrapping around the bullet scar.

Fears
"Fear is just a weakness you can overcome."
☠ Failure → It's a hard thing to fear, because everyone fails at one point, no one's perfect, but Griffin is afraid of failing. Failing his sister, and failing in his goal to finish off the vampires. He takes every failure personally and explodes angrily, locking himself away to keep himself from hurting someone.
☠ His Temper → Fin has a very thin control over his temper, and he's all too aware of the fact that, once he's angry, there's no stopping him. He'll kill if he's mad enough, so he's afraid of hurting someone he cares about with his anger.
☠ Being a bad leader → Fin is one of the three leaders of the Hunters, well, two now that his friend Trevor has gone missing. He's afraid of failing his hunters and possibly leading them right into their own deaths. He's afraid that his cause is a lost one, and he's setting his Hunters up to fail.

❝Delve a little deeper❞

Image
Image
Personality
"I eat, breath, and sleep hunting." The only thing you need to know to know how Griffin works is simple: The cause. The mission he's taken on to take the world, or at least America, back for the humans. This cause is what fuels him night and day. He literally thinks of nothing more than killing off the Royals.

He even pushed his little sister into fighting for his cause, and, as a result, she was captured by the vampires and killed, or at least that's what he believes. Her death is what keeps him going. Everytime he begins to doubt himself and think that maybe it's hopeless to keep going, he thinks of his sister and the way she used to throw herself headfirst into the impossible without thinking twice, and his faith and need to kill the creatures that killed both her, and his best friend Trevor, is restored.

He has a strong bitter hatred for any and all vampires, especially the Royals, so he takes great care in keeping his Hunters hidden, running the operation alongside his friend Alden, underground, making sure to keep it secretive. The slow pace of his Hunters is agonizing at times, but Griffin is smart, and understands the need for stealth over power.

Griffin is a dangerous guy. He's not afraid to kill you, weather you're vamp or human, if you threaten him or his Hunters. He means business, and is instantly feared the moment he steps in a room. He's ruthless, you have to be when you deal with vampires. Even the smallest instant of sympathy could get you killed. He's got a fiery temper that has killed people before, even humans, and everyday Pippa is gone, he finds himself falling further and further into his Hunting, into his ruthless dangerous side. He used to have a calmer side, a side that was kind and compassionate, but Pip was the one who used to bring that out in him, and now that he believes her to be dead, there's no reason for him to show compassion to anyone anymore.

He's a strong, brave leader, able to make plans, train his Hunters, and give out orders with ease, and they're all fiercely loyal to him. They have to be. Otherwise, they might end up dead for their betraying him.

Griffin is often up until well into the dawn training or coming up with new plans to slowly bring the vampire empire to the end.

Like Pippa, he also has an ability to read people. Years of having to figure out his unresponsive sister has made him an expert in human nature, and he knows how people tick, and can almost guess what a person will say or do before they do it. He can get you to spill your guts with nothing more than a few words, and, as such, he's not only one of the leaders, and a Senior Hunter, but also an interrogator to the Hunters, interrogating humans they suspect to be spies for the vampires, and people who might have good information for them, like human slaves they've freed from the Vamps.

There's not much Griff thinks of, save for killing vampires and keeping his Hunters alive. He wakes up early and trains all hours of the day, and hunts well into the night, when the vampires are most active.

He's dedicated and hard-working, afraid of failure. He can't fail. It's just not an option for him. If Griffin sets his mind to something, he gets it done, plain and simple, there's no arguing with him.

However, despite what people might think, Griffin isn't actually heartless. He cares greatly for his Hunters, and would die for them without hesitation.

❝Welcome to my life❞

History
"Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably know every detail of my life." Griffin was the first born into a life of fame and fortune. His mother and father were both famous actors, and were all the rage in hollywood. The Famous Frost Family is what they were often called. When his mother Leighlah married his father, Tom, their wedding was covered by more than a thousand cameras and reporters. Everyone wanted the covershot of their kiss.

Then his mother got pregnant with him, and the tabloids had a field day, every paper in the world wanting to cover it. His mother was best known for, ironically, acting in various vampire and horror movies while her father was known for all the best action, thriller movies. Between the two of them, they had a movie coming out nearly every year. There had almost never been a more famous acting couple. They knew how to play the game. As soon as their names started to fade, they came out with something new.

Two years after he was born, Pippa came into the picture, making the lonely family complete.

Both their parents were too wrapped up in their careers to pay attention to their children, and both him and Pip had to pretend for the cameras that they were the happiest children alive. They could have thrown themselves off a cliff, and their parents wouldn't have even noticed, but the papers sure as hell would. It was awful, and their home was filled with the stress of showbiz. Of having to keep yourself popular.

Their mother and father were obsessed with fame. They did things for fame that would make even some of the most morally twisted people cringe, and what was worse, is that they didn't hide it from their children. Their mother and father made sure the two of them knew what was going on, and almost encouraged it.

Eventually, the pressure of fame seemed to be getting to their father because he was drinking heavily and becoming more and more dependent on drugs, until he was the focus of gossip magazines almost every week, because people were interested to see what wild, drug induced thing Tom Frost would do next. He seemed to be losing his mind, and took his frustrations out on his family behind closed doors until one night, when Pip was left home alone with their father, and Griff and his mother were in L.A for a movie premire, his sister called in the middle of the night, hysterical, something that was extremely strange for his sister.

Their father had killed himself.

And of course hollywood jumped at this, bombarding the devastated family.

When Pip was eight and he was ten was when they first learned of the existence of vampires. Fin did his best to shade Pippa from the horrific event of his mother being fed on until she fell unconscious, then dragged from the house, and he made sure that, as soon as he knew his mother wouldn't be making it, his sister was hidden so that the vampire wouldn't turn on them.

The vampire staged the whole thing like a suicide, and took the body so that he could wait until she re-awoke and feed her the blood of a vampire, completing the turn.

And Suddenly, Pippa and him became orphans, and were separated for two years as they were forced through foster care. When the vampire attack hit, he was twelve and living with a nice foster family at the time, but the problem was that, the father of this family was the mayor of New York and, as such, was a target for the vampires. It was a miracle he made it out alive, and, took his two foster brothers with him Alden and Trevor, and tracked down Pippa.

The four of them survived together for three years, until, at age fifteen, he killed his first vampire to protect his thirteen year-old sister, and the fact that he'd been able to kill the creature stuck him with an idea. If the the vampires weren't invincible... Then maybe they could beat them if they played their cards right.

However, he couldn't do it alone, so him, Trevor, and Alden set about gathering anyone willing to fight back, and set up an entire underground system with jobs and training, and fighting. It started off small and slow, but quickly escalated to the point where he had easily a hundred people working on him, and he was working on a plan to bring down the King.

Pippa had become quite the hunter by the time, and he's paired her with Trevor, so, seeing as she had a knack for taking on tasks that other people thought were outright impossible, he gave her the job of poisoning the King. She took Trevor with her, only he was caught, and Fin was sure the mission was a lost cause, only, amazingly, even with her partner caught, Pip somehow managed to pull it off and make it out of there alive.

Then she had a crazy idea that she might be able to get Trevor out of the Blood Houses by acting like she was a vampire going to buy him. It was risky, but Griff okay-ed it. Trevor was his best friend. He wasn't about to let him become an easy snack after all he'd worked for.

Only Pippa was caught as well, and he tried to free her for almost a year before one of his informants told him that the Royals had visited the Blood House, interested in her and Trevor, and he knew they were dead. There was no reason a Royal would want to see a human in the Blood House other than an easy meal.

It was a blow to him, and he was never quite the same, but his sister and friend's deaths have only made his dedication to the cause escalate.

Uprising

Muse

Paranoia is in bloom,
The PR, transmissions will resume
They'll try to, push drugs that keep us all dumbed down
And hope that, we will never see the truth around
(So come on)

Another promise, another seed
Another, packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed
And all the, green belts wrapped around our minds
And endless red tape to keep the truth confined
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Interchanging mind control
Come let the, revolution takes its toll
If you could, flick the switch and open your third eye
You'd see that, we should never be afraid to die
(So come on)

Rise up and take the power back
It's time the, fat cats had a heart attack
You know that, their time's coming to an end
We have to, unify and watch our flag ascend
(So come on)

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious
So come on

Resistance

Muse

Is our secret safe tonight
And are we out of sight
Or will our world come tumbling down?
Will they find our hiding place
Is this our last embrace
Or will the walls start caving in?

(It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it should have been right
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) To let our hearts ignite
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) Are we digging a hole?
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) This is out of control

(It could be wrong, could be wrong) It can never last
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) Must erase it fast
(It could be wrong, could be wrong) But it could have been right
(It could be wrong, could be...)

Love is our resistance
They'll keep us apart and they won't to stop breaking us down
Hold me
Our lips must always be sealed

If we live a life in fear
I'll wait a thousand years
Just to see you smile again

Kill your prayers for love and peace
You'll wake the thought police
We can't hide the truth inside

The night has reached its end
We can't pretend
We must run
We must run
It's time to run
Take us away from here
Protect us from further harm

"Guess I don't have to recruit you to join the Hunters now." she rolled her eyes as she watched him lean against the wall of the alley at light a cigarette "What the hell are you doing on this side of town anyway?" she sighed not really in the mood to answer his questions.

But, at the same time he looked like he was in pain from their fight, he wasn’t a threat to her at least not now and she was sore, her back should have been broken from the fight and her neck wasn’t anywhere close to being healed, the vampire had come extremely close to nearly killing her, but she hated the thought of that and pushed it from her mind.

She let silence fall between them as she lend on the wall across from him keeping her distance for one of two reasons: One he was quick, she didn’t trust him even if he looked like he wasn’t going to hurt her and two because she hated the way it felt when she was so close to him, she felt weak and her whole body tingled, so she always chose to keep a good distance between them.

“Contrary to popular belief, being a royal isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.” She said running her fingers through her hair “Sometimes I just like to go out, without being noticed.” She shrugged.

She glanced away from him, fixing her eyes on the empty side walk at the end of the alley way. The smoke from his cigarette made her crave one, but the smell of his blood was even was even more enticing and she wasn’t one to crave blood, she feed more because it was a necessity, not because she lust for it. Which made is odd that she actually craved his blood. Then the thought of his death clock vanishing came invaded her thoughts again and she needed to keep her mind off of it.

She glanced back to him with a smirk, closing the distance between them as she walked across the alley, stopping in front of him, trying her best to ignore the painful waves of stabbing pain that ran all the way down her spine. She grabbed the cigarette from between his lips, the smell of his blood was stronger and she could hear his heart speed up, causing her smirk to turn wicked. She placed the cigarette to her lips taking a long drag from it keeping her eyes fixed on his, realizing the smoke from the corner of her ruby lips.

“What are we fighting for?” she asked in a leisurely tone “It’s obvious you want me
give it up.” she coaxed, seductively “No guy chases a girl as long as you’ve chased me
just to kill them.” She raised a brow as if she knew her statement was true. “We’ve had plenty of opportunities to kill each other.” She said taking another drag off the cigarette.

There was a truth to her statement, they’d been at each other’s throats for over a year. He never let anyone else touch her, it had to be him and there were several times Ezra had nearly ripped his throat out and she’d stopped him. The two of them had so many opportunities to kill the other, yet for some reason they could never bring their selves to go through with it.

He knew he should stop, he was fighting a battle with himself, because the truth of the matter was he really actually liked her and if the kiss wasn’t proof enough that there was more between them then just his next snack, then the fact that she was still alive and her heat was still beating, was all the proof that anyone need when it came to the prince.

Evan was ruthless, he came across sophisticated and classy, because that’s how he’d trained himself, he was born in the eighteen hundreds and he was still partly stuck in that era. But, then there was the side of him that was completely demented and uncontrollable, the part of himself her could control. The side of him that came out when his lust for blood or his unruly temper got the best of him.

Pip could easily bring out that side of him, now that he’d had a taste of her blood and maybe that’s why he was hesitating so much. She wasn’t dead yet, because at the moment he was calm and enjoying himself, but all it would take was one thing to set him off or her denying him anymore of her blood and he’d kill her without a second thought, she wouldn’t even stand a chance when he turned into the monster he really was.

He felt her unbutton his pants and with smooth excellence slide them down his legs, he knew where the rest of it would go after this, he needed to pull himself together, if he finished what they started tonight, sure she might live, but then he’d be opening the door for more and more, because he knew neither of them would or could stop at just tonight, so he’d be living with the fear of really hurting her. then again she didn’t have a death clock, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t hurt her.

He sighed rolling off her, though not letting his guard down in case she ran. He moved to the edge of the bed, closing his eyes, not wanting to stop, but not wanting to hurt her.

“Pippa
” he started and his voice was so quiet he wasn’t sure she’d heard him “I don’t want to hurt you.” He said calmly. “This has nothing to do with what we are or who we are, because you being human doesn’t matter to me.” He said making sure she knew he didn’t give a shit about their races. “You don’t want to be what I am.” He said opening his eyes and glancing at the moon afraid if he looked at her he’d give in, before saying what he needed to. “Living forever, it’s not something I want for anyone
especially someone like you.” He said calmly “And if we continue this, eventually I will turn you
and you won’t be able to stop me.” He said honestly.

The words had been a warning, he was willing to continue but only if she could except the consequences that he’d just laid out on the table.

Pippa wasn't expecting him to roll off her, so when he did, she just looked at him as he moved to the edge of the bed and didn't look at her. She was confused, and flushed, and hot, and the last thing she wanted was for him to stop, but she could tell something was bothering him so she stayed uncharacteristically quiet and watched him, waiting for him to explain.

“Pippa
” He started quietly and she listened. “I don’t want to hurt you.” He said, shocking her. He was stopping because he was worried about hurting her? Why should he care so much? She was only a servant after all. “This has nothing to do with what we are or who we are, because you being human doesn’t matter to me.” He said and she sighed. It mattered to her, but somehow, when he was around, it seemed insignificant. “You don’t want to be what I am.” He said, causing a bolt of fear to run through her suddenly. What was he saying? That he was going to change her? “Living forever, it’s not something I want for anyone
especially someone like you. And if we continue this, eventually I will turn you
and you won’t be able to stop me.” He said, making her heart speed up.

She sighed deeply, debating reaching for her dress and slipping out the door and back to her room, or staying. He wasn't touching her so she was able to think clearly, and she was about to tell him to calm down, that what they were doing was a one-time thing, but she didn't. Because she knew that was a lie.

She wasn't sure she could feel anything for him, she'd never really felt anything for anyone, not even Griffin, but she knew she wouldn't be able to stop at once and neither would he. He'd want more of her blood and she'd want more of him, and eventually she'd have to cut him off and run away, or Griffin would save her and she'd go back to hunting and killing his kind.

She bit her lip and looked at him, sitting up behind him and placing a kiss on his shoulder before looking away. "You don't scare me." She whispered with a smirk. She shook her head and sighed. "And I'll kill you if you try to Change me." She said, suddenly serious. She may be small and a human, but she was a Hunter, and every bit as lethal as him.

Just in different ways, and for different reasons. And suddenly that struck her hard. He killed her kind for food, and she killed his for what?

She let out a sudden shocked breath, and pushed the thought back as fast and as hard as she could. She couldn't think about that. It was like doubting herself.

So instead she just pulled herself into his lap, straddling him as she kissed his jaw. "Don't over think it." She whispered as her hands moved down his chest.

Griffin watched as she crossed the alley to him and stood there, looking at him and he smirked, having to admit that her presence was having an affect on him. She grabbed his cigarette, and he rolled his eyes like he was irritated, but just lit himself a new one with a sigh. He watched as she kept her eyes on him and seemed to be thinking, puffing a breath of smoke.

“What are we fighting for?” She asked, and he raised his eyebrow, not sure what she meant, as the question could have multiple meanings. “It’s obvious you want me
give it up.” She said, her voice seductive, but he only shrugged. Sure, he wanted her, but that didn't mean he was going to let his want for her get in the way of his cause. “No guy chases a girl as long as you’ve chased me
just to kill them. We’ve had plenty of opportunities to kill each other.” She said taking another drag off the cigarette.

He laughed and rolled his eyes, grabbing her hips and pulling her body tightly to his, though not as roughly as he would have liked to, seeing as they were both in a lot of pain. "Don't flatter yourself babe." He whispered in her ear. "Who says I'm not just letting my chances to kill you slide because you're fun to fight with?" He said with a wicked grin as he released her, pushing her away as if she were nothing when really, all he could think about was kissing her and touching her.

He grab her hips roughly, though she could tell he was holding back, more than likely from what she’d done to him earlier that night. He pulled their bodies tight enough she could feel the warmth of his chest through his shirt. She had to look away, to keep her composure.

"Don't flatter yourself babe." his breath was warm on her skin and she chocked back the urge to pull his lips to hers, keeping her head turned away from him and her eyes fixed at the end of the alley. "Who says I'm not just letting my chances to kill you slide because you're fun to fight with?" she scoffed at his words knowing that was a completely ridicules lie.

He pushed her away and she was glad he’d done it when he did, had he kept her there any longer she might have given in and kissed him. She flicked her cigarette away, looking over him with a smirk.

“Still
your keeping me alive.” She said with a shrug, acting as though she was easy to kill “Which means, I must mean something to you.” She made her way close to him once again, wrapping her arms around his neck, though keeping her peripherals on his hands and body language, keeping her guard up, so she could act quickly if he tried anything.

On the outside she kept her composure perfectly, as if she was just another vampire seducing her pray, but on the inside if she had a beating heart it’d be beating quickly and loud enough for him to hear. The smell of his blood made her crave it, more than she’d ever craved anything, she wanted his arms around her again and even though he was her biggest enemy, she couldn’t think of anyone else in the world she’d rather be with and she hated that. She lend into his body, closing the space between them.

“Your just as sick and twisted as I am.” She whispered into his ear, only she wasn’t seducing him like she normally did, her tone was dark, yet honest. “We can’t live with each other
but we can’t live without each other.” She continued, though holding him tight enough he couldn’t push her away, again. “You better start getting used to it babe, because your empire is ganna fall
and when it does, you won’t fall with it and neither will Penelope.” She finished kissing the side of his face before taking a step away from him, not in fear, more so she’d be prepared if he tried to fight her for the things she’d said.

She knew he was going to ask what had happened back in the library and in so many words she’d told him, it wasn't a straight forward, clean cut answer, but Effie never made it easy for someone to decode words, when it came to subjects like your time of death...or lack of time of death she always sounded more like a fortune teller.

"You don't scare me. And I'll kill you if you try to Change me." she whispered, but that didn’t help the situation, she wasn’t scared of him cause she’d never seen the real him.

He heard her let out a breath as if she’d come to realize something and he hoped for her sake it was how dangerous he was and that she’d decided she wanted to leave. It would make things on him easier if she was the one who’d decided to leave, than he would simple return to being the responsible master everyone thought he was.

She pulled herself into his lap, causing him to let out a sigh knowing she wasn’t going to leave and she’d made up her mind and it became suddenly clear to him why she had no death clock, Effie was always going on about fate and shit and he’d never paid much attention, he wished he would have now. But, the simple fact that Pip had crawled into his lap had completely sealed her fate and he knew there was no point in fighting it now.

"Don't over think it." she said as she kissed along his jawline.

He smirked as she ran her hands down his chest every place she touched tingled, making him push the thoughts from his mind, for now he just wanting to enjoy the moment. He unclipped her bra sliding it off and tossing it aside before wrapping an arm around her waist and pulling her tightly to him so that their bare bodies were touching, he shivered as their bodies touched.

He placed a hand behind her neck, flipping her onto her back so she was over him, before pressing his lips to her, kissing her roughly, letting her know he’d forgotten about the conversation they’d just had, that all he wanted was her as he slipped his tongue past her lips, letting his icy hands roam her body toughly, almost possessively.

He moved his lips along her jawline, they weren’t hot like a humans kiss they were frozen, but you wouldn’t know the difference, every kiss was even more passionate and euphoria then any humans kiss could ever be. His lips continued along her jawline and down her neck, before continuing slowly and teasingly down her body. Until he reached her panty line, he glanced up to her with a smirk, before sliding off her underwear. He kissed the inside of her thigh just as teasingly as he’d kissed down her body, before baring his teeth and slowly sinking them into the skin on the inside of her thigh, feeding from her.

Her blood only seemed to become more enticing every time he bite her, it was like he’d never feed from her before, even though moments before he’d been feeding from her neck. Her blood gave him a high he’d never felt, even with the strongest drugs he had never felt the way he felt feeding from her. His eyes even seeming to glow a deep crimson, in the darkness, something that very rarely happened to any vampire.

Pippa knew he'd given in. It felt too good to refuse, she knew that, and later, she knew she'd be pissed at herself, but she couldn't help it. She smirked as he unclipped her bra and slid it off before pulling their bodies together tightly, making her shiver with him and close her eyes at the way his skin felt on hers. Icy perfection.

His hand wrapped around the back of her neck and flipped her onto the bed so that she was on her back and he was over her again. She smirked as he pressed his lips to hers, her fingers sliding up in his hair as she moaned at the way his hands roamed her body, touching her roughly, like she was his. Normally, she hated when people treated her like they owned her, but it was like she was willing to make an exception, letting him and him only own her.

His lips moved away from hers, down, along her jaw, cold bringing goosebumps to her skin and making her shiver, but with satisfaction, not cold. His lips moved lower, moving down her neck, but this time, they didn't stop. He kept going, moving down her body at an agonizingly slow pace, making her moan in a mix of pleasure and frustration, until he finally reached her pantyline.

She looked down at him and matched his smirk with her own as he slipped off her underwear before slowly placing a kiss on the inside of her thigh, teasing her even more, until she was at her breaking point.

Then he sunk his teeth into the skin of her thigh and she smirked and moaned deeply as the familiar pleasure of feeding spread throughout her body, making her head spin, and her whole body tense as her hands started to shake. She closed her eyes and ran her fingers through his hair, not wanting to stop him even though she knew she should, not wanting the night to end because she knew when the sun came up he'd be King of the Vampires, and she'd still be nothing but his human slave.

“Still
your keeping me alive.” She said with a shrug, and he rolled his eyes. As if it was that easy. Sure, he had missed quite a few opportunities to kill her, on purpose, but that didn't mean he was keeping her alive. She kept getting away. “Which means, I must mean something to you.” She said.

He was about to tell her that all she meant was a good fight, knowing it was a lie, before she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, making her heart-rate increase and his eyebrows raise in amusement. He wanted to wrap his arms around her and not let her go. However, he kept his arms at his sides and glared at her with a wicked smirk.

“You're just as sick and twisted as I am.” She whispered in his ear, her breath cold and he just laughed and shrugged. She was probably right. If the fact that he got enjoyment and satisfaction out of killing vampires was any indication, it was pretty clear that he wasn't exactly normal. Sure, he had a cause, but how many times had he killed just because it felt good? More than he could count, that was for sure.

“We can’t live with each other
but we can’t live without each other.” She continued, and he smirked. “You better start getting used to it babe, because your empire is gonna fall
and when it does, you won’t fall with it and neither will Penelope.” She finished kissing the side of his face, leaving behind a patch of icy electricity before pulling away.

Griffin laughed and pulled her back to him, not at all bothered by her cryptic words as he spun her around and pushed her into the wall. He winced a bit, the movement making his wounds throb sorely, but it was nothing more than a minor annoyance with the drugs in his system so he pushed it away.

"You're the one with the empire, Princess." He hissed darkly with a shrug. "I'm the underground revolution that takes you down." He smirked, eyes on hers. "And I will kill you." He laughed darkly. "Just not quite yet." He leaned in, lips inches from hers, wanting so badly to kiss her, but first he had to ask a question, and he knew if he kissed her, he'd completely forget it.

So he pulled back, though still holding her tightly to the wall. "What was the weirdness in the library?" He asked, watching her closely. "Why don't you think you can kill me?"

Seph swallowed a painful groan, showing no sign of pain as he spun her, pinning her to the wall, much like she’d had him pinned. The longer she was in his presence made it harder to hate him and their closeness made her forget why they were fighting in the first place, she kept her eyes on him, smirking wickedly, not about to show him how vulnerable she felt around him.

"You're the one with the empire, Princess." she laughed at his clever rewording "I'm the underground revolution that takes you down. And I will kill you." his dark laugh only intrigued her and his threat should have scared her, yet she knew it was an empty threat "Just not quite yet." she rolled her eyes, she held her breath, trying to keep herself control as she tried to pull her eyes from his to concentrate on anything else, but him. But, it was no use, she couldn’t bring herself to look away.

"What was the weirdness in the library? Why don't you think you can kill me?" she was finally able to pull her gaze from his and she glanced away for only a second, letting out the breath she’d been holding in, before bringing her blue eyes to meet his.

“I already told you why I can’t kill you.” She whispered “it’s the same reason you can’t kill me.” She shrugged “Someone’s changed your mind.” She smirked.

She pulled her hand from his grip, grabbing a hand full of his shirt and pulling him close, her lips nearly touching his, she smirked staring into his eyes, a wicked glint in them.

“If I’m nothing more than a good fight
why does your heart rate speed up every time we touch?” she said with an arrogant smirk, once again switching their positions and spinning and pinning him against the wall roughly.

She couldn’t hold back any longer, his blood had gotten to her, she didn’t kiss his lips because she had a felling if she did, she wouldn’t be able pull away, instead she placed quick icy kisses along his jawline, continuing down the side of his neck and before he could react, digging her fangs into the base of his neck. She moaned against his skin, his blood was strangely pure and more enjoyable now than it had been back in the library. She knew he’d probably push her away, but she had a few good seconds of shock, before he would.

He smirked against her skin as she moaned deeply, he continued to feed from her and he watched as she closed her eyes. He pulled away from the fang marks he’d made as blood continued to drain from them slowly. He ran his tongue across the marks, taking one last taste of her bloods and he knew he’d taken far too much, not enough to kill, but enough to make her weak.

He climbed back over her with a smirk as he placed his lips to her once again, electricity running through his entire body, making him high off of a mixture of her blood and her warm skin. He kissed her roughly. It was a kiss of possession, everything about the kiss was terrifyingly dark, yet there was a passion that no mere human could duplicate. He was hooked on her now and she belonged to him, whether she liked it or not, he wasn’t going to let her go.

---
He sat on the edge of the bed, glancing over his shoulder at the sleeping girl on his bed and normally after he was finished sleeping with them, human of vampire he killed them. They were useless to him and once a Royal feed from you, their always seemed to be some kind of romantic attachment. But Pip was different, he couldn’t kill her.

The slow beat of her heart seemed to ease his mind as he sat just listening for a long time. He knew she’d be asleep for a while, but with it being near sunrise, he’d have to get her back to the slave quarters soon and unnoticed.

He slipped on his cloths, before wrapping her in a blanket keeping her covered, not wanting to chance waking her, by trying to dress her. He lifted her and instead of going out his bedroom door he stepped out his window onto the roof, before smoothly landing on the ground in the back yard. He made his way throw the back doors of the mansion, all the party goers had scattered, knowing the sun would be out soon.

Servants wondered about cleaning up after the party. There was no sight of Effie, his mother, Ezra, his father, or any of the hunters. For the first time in ten years Von Drakon estate was in silence, aside from the sounds of sweeping and cleaning, though even that seemed too quiet. He sighed as some of the servants looked terrified as he carried Pippa through the mansion, like he’d finally killed her and she probably looked pale enough to be a corpse.

The guards like always escorted him down stairs to the slave quarters, he carried her to what had become like a private room for her and laid her down on the bed, refraining from kissing her forehead know there were eyes on him. He made his way from the closet sized room, shutting the door behind him.

“She ran and I brought her back.” He said plainly as if telling the guards not to question him “I’m fairly certain, she won’t be feeling quite herself once she wakes, make sure she’s properly taken care of.” He ordered and although the guards looked confused, they didn’t question their now King. He walked past the guards, hearing the familiar jingle of keys, before pausing though not bother to turn around. “Don’t bother locking it.” He said again it was an order.

He made his way up stairs, towards his bedroom, exhausted, too exhausted to do the responsible thing and see if his family was alright. He just wanted to sleep through the day without being woken up or bather, but he doubted that would happen.

Pippa had fallen asleep easily, out of both exhaustion and blood loss. She stirred some, as the Prince lifted her, and wanted to object, and tell him she could walk on her own, but it was a lie. She couldn't have walked even if she'd wanted to. So she just let him carry her back to her room and set her down. She heard him telling the guards not to lock her door and smirked softly to herself. There'd really be no point in locking her door. She couldn't exactly run.

Pip sighed and reached under her bed to grab her sleep-shit, just a large black t-shirt of Griff's, and slip it on over her head before laying back down again with a deep sigh.

Not moments after she'd layed down and was about to get back to sleep there was a soft knock at her door, but, as always, without bothering to wait for a response from her, Trevor came in. He looked worried, and Pippa realized that the last time he'd seen her, Effie had been dragging her roughly from the ballroom. "I waited for you, but you never showed up." He said simply, coming to sit next to her on the bed.

"What happened? I saw the Prince carrying you in, I was worried." He looked her over, obviously spotting the bruises and the bite marks, along with her pale skin. "God Pip, they fed off you didn't they? You look awful." She watched him clench his fists, and she could tell he was about to get upset.

"Relax Trev." She sighed deeply. "I'm fine. That bitch tried to kill me, then Griff showed up, and I ran. I almost made it out too, but the Prince stopped me and brought me back." She yawned, it was the truth. Not exactly the whole truth, but she hadn't lied. he looked at her a bit skeptically, but it seemed to pass and he sighed.

"The sun will be up soon." He whispered. "Means chores will be starting soon."

Pippa moaned and sighed. "I guess that means there's really no point in me trying to get some sleep?" She said with a small laugh as she sat up, leaning against the wall that her bed was pushed against. Trevor laughed and pulled himself to sit next to her on the bed.

"Griffin was here?" He asked then, and Pippa nodded, remembering suddenly how she was willing to trade both her brother's and Trevor's lives for her own. "What about Alden?"

Pippa shrugged. "I don't know, I only saw Griff, but while he was fighting Effie, someone killed the King, so I think Alden had to have been here too. No one else would have been able to get that close to the King." She smirked. "I'm not sure if they were caught or not." She said finally answering the question in his eyes. She hoped her brother had gotten away. Despite the fact that she'd ran away and left him to fight Effie on his own, she didn't want him dead. If Griffin was killed, they would be forced to kill her. The only reason they were keeping her alive was to get to Griff. If he were killed, her usefulness would run it's course.

However, if Fin was alive, she could almost guarantee that he'd try and come rescue her, and he could get himself killed that way.

"I already told you why I can’t kill you.” She whispered in answer, and he knit his brows. That was a lie. “it’s the same reason you can’t kill me.” She shrugged and he raised his eyebrows, interested to hear when she thought he couldn't kill her. “Someone’s changed your mind.”

He rolled his eyes as she grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer. A small movement forward would cause their lips to touch, and Griffin had to fight the urge to close that small sliver of space.

“If I’m nothing more than a good fight
why does your heart rate speed up every time we touch?” She said as though she had him as she spun him around and pinned him to the wall. He winced in pain, but it was small. Nothing too serious, and her closeness seemed to cancel out any pain he was feeling.

She leaned in and he held his breath as she placed small, cold kisses on his jaw before continuing down his neck, and it took all he had not to pull her closer. And then she bit into his neck with her fangs and moaned as she drew his blood, and he couldn't help himself. The same rush of excitement as he'd felt in the library flooded him, and he grabbed her hips and yanked her body tightly against his with a groan.

Then he remembered who he was, and who she was, and, regrettingly, pushed her away, breath shallow. "No feeding." He spat, unable to come up with anything better before reaching for her again, and whirling her around, pinning her against the wall and placing his lips firmly to hers.

Her kiss was incredible, and he slipped his tongue into her mouth, unable to stop himself, despite the fact that he was supposed to be killing her. His whole body tingled with ice and electric sparks as he pushed her harder against the wall, closing any remaining space between them.

She was surprised when he didn’t push her away right away and she continued to feed from him, before he pushed her away, she smirked when she saw how shallow his breath was, like a part of him had enjoyed it.

"No feeding." he spat, like he could find seem to find other words and she raised a brow looking over him.

He grabbed her again spinning her around and pinning her to the wall and for a moment she thought he was going to stab her or try and fight her for what she’d done and the things she’d said. But, instead he pressed his lips. At first she was shocked and wasn’t entirely sure it was happening. They hated each other
right.

But, the thought was soon pushed away when he slipped his tongue past her lips and she moaned against his lips, cruising herself for enjoying the kiss. Her whole body was on fire from the heat that radiated off of his body as h pushed her hard against the wall, closing any extra space between them.

She kissed him harder slipping her hands under his shirt and running them down the length of his chest. Electricity from the kiss and his touch ran through her body and she smirked against his lips. She wrapped her arms around his neck leaning into him. She pulled away, sighing.

“I gotta go.” She whispered as she glanced to the sky above them, starting to take on a lighter color, her time was running out and she knew she wouldn’t make it home, so instead she’d have to find somewhere else to spend the day. She kissed his lips again before pushing him away playfully realizing how serious the moment had actually gotten between them. “I still hate you.” She smirked.

Without another word, she was a blur of motion and when she refocused she was on the back of her street bike. She revved the engine before taking off past him out of the alley, heading straight for the Crimson Skulls hideout. She finally got to the warehouse and she could feel the sun starting to burn her skin.

She hopped off the bike quickly running up the stairs, stopping once she was inside, her breathing heavy and he body burned, parts of her skin looked as though she’d been burned. She sighed in more pain now.

“The bitch came back.” She heard a familiar voice before feeling rough hand pulling her close. “I should kill you for leaving last night.” Slyder smirked. Effie winced in pain, the sun had burned her pretty bad, even for it being early morning. She pushed him away roughly.

“Like you could kill me.” She smirked pretending not to be in pain.

“Well you look pretty shitty, so I think I might have a better chance.” He shrugged. She made herself comfortable on one of the couches, letting her body heal.

“You hungry babe?” Slyder smirked as he brought a young girl out from one of the rooms they held their victims in. The girl was young, sixteen maybe and she looked absolutely terrified covered in her own blood, tears running down her face and Effie sighed. For the first time in a long time Effie felt kind of bad for the girl, the smell of her blood made Effie hungry, she hadn’t actually had a full feeding in close to three days, but she could bring herself to feed off the young girl. “Come on hun, you know I’m not into girls.” She teased

Slyder rolled his eyes with a smirk, before tossing the girl back into the room harshly causing Effie to look away with a sigh. She didn’t actually hate humans as much as she pretended to and after her kiss with Griffin, she wasn’t sure she hated them at all.

Evander stopped at his bedroom door before, he could hear his mother crying from above him and he sighed. He walked up two more flights of stairs finally reaching the fourth floor of the mansion. He didn’t bother knocking, he slipped into his parents dark room his eyes falling on his mother her head in her hands as she sat on the edge of the bed crying. He sat next to her pulling her to him, it wasn’t often that the prince showed any side of him, aside from his sophisticated, responsible side.

“Mother
” he spoke gently “You knew this would happen.” He sighed “Effie made us aware several years ago.” He said calmly.

“I know
but when your with someone for as long as I was with your father, it’s not something you can easily forget.” She sniffled.

He nodded, not bothering to argue with her, he was upset about losing his father, but he’d prepared himself for it. He stood up kissing the top of her head.

“Get some rest.” He said heading for the door.

“Your king now Evan.” His mother whispered.

He nodded as he slipped out again. He wasn’t exactly excited about being King it was a lot of responsibility and his father was the only king they’d known since the vampires took back the world. Although most would comment about how much more ruthless Evander was than his father and it was the truth. Evan knew he wasn’t going to get much sleep, after everything that happed last night and the thought of ruling it was too much on his mind to try and sleep.

Instead he walked the halls, watching as the hundreds of servants began their daily chores: pulling the curtains of the windows, blacking out the house, taking tea to his mother, cleaning, cooking, and everything else that was on their long list. It actually wasn’t too bad being a royal’s servant, they were treated the best and taken care of better than servants in other households.

He couldn’t get the thought of Pip out of his head no matter how much he tried to think off other things. There kiss had been drug like and her blood was intoxicating. He sighed at the thought of wanting to be with her again, he wished he didn’t have to take her back, but no matter how bad he wished, he knew they could never be together. The new world had rules, whether or not he was king now, those rules had to stay intact to keep order.

Evan was brought from his thoughts when he saw his sister’s big black wolf curled up outside her bedroom door, he knit his eye brows in confusion. He knelt down petting the dog for a moment before opening the door to an empty room.

“Where the hell is Persephone?” He asked suddenly worried, remembering there had been hunters there and he’d been too busy, to make sure she was okay. He looked to the wolf who sat up, looking depressed. “Ez
where is she?” he asked as if knowing what he was.

Ezra sighed, more than anything he wanted to talk and tell the Prince he had no idea and he hadn’t seen her since last night, but he knew that if the prince found out he wasn’t just a wolf, he’d be killed. So instead he looked up at him as if he didn’t understand, before prancing into the room and hopping onto the bed. Evan sighed, there wasn’t anything he could do about it at the moment, the sun was slowly coming up, he’d have to wait till dusk to see if she came back or go and find her. He continued his leisurely walk through the mansion, that was oddly quite to him.

Trevor nodded and sighed. "I think the fact that you're still alive is a good indication that they got away." He said and she nodded in agreement because it was true. "But they're probably going to get a little desperate now. Killing the King is big." He said, looking at her with worry in his eyes and she knit her eyebrows.

"You think they'll torture us?" She asked, shaking her head. "I'm not sure even they're that low." She said, reassuringly.

Trevor just shrugged. "If they could figure out where the Hunters are, it'd be huge. The only thing Griff and Alden have going for them is that they're sneaky, and they can't be found. Just be ready."

Pippa smirked and rolled her eyes. "I'm telling you, they're not going to get that bad, now get the hell out of here so I can get dressed and get to work."

He shook his head and leaned forward to kiss her. It was nothing like Evan's kiss, but she was too tired to push away, so she let him. "You know... We never got to meet in the gardens last night, and we still have a little time." He whispered as he pulled back to look at her.

Pippa just rolled her eyes and shook her head. "I'm too tired Trev, now get out." He looked disappointed but nodded and slipped out, leaving her alone. She sighed and watched him go. She could feel the familiar flood of feeling start to pester at her again, threatening to send her into a day of madness, so she knew if she didn't get moving she'd be lost.

So she stood and got dressed slowly and weakly. Her hands shook, but she could walk at least so, once she was dressed, she went out into the servant's quarters before heading upstairs and making her way towards the kitchen, figuring she should get something to eat, seeing as she was so low on nourishment at the moment.

Effie kissed him harder and he heard her moan against his lips and slip her hands up under his shirt, making him shiver at her cold touch, despite himself as she ran them down his chest.

She pulled away and he looked at her, confused for a second. “I gotta go.” She whispered and he caught her glanced upwards and knew the sun would be up soon. She placed her lips on his quickly one more time before pulling back and smirking. “I still hate you.” She smirked.

"Ditto." He said, just as she blurred away and took off on her bike.

Griffin sighed and leaned heavily on the wall for a moment, the pain pills starting to wear off. Monster trotted over to him, and, as the effects of Effie's kiss also started to wear off, and his blood loss made him dizzy, he knew there was no way he was getting back to the hideout on his own feet.

"Alden." He said to the dog, who instantly turned and trotted off towards home to get his partner.

Griffin waited a little while before his friend showed up and looked him over, spotting the dead bodies and the bite mark on his neck. "Damn, a punctured lung can't keep you down Griff. Five? That's nuts. Even healthy." He said, raising his eyebrows and shaking his head.

"Whatever, just help me get back and get more pills so we can talk about an escape plan." He said through struggling, forced breaths.

Alden looked at him, confused. "Pippa's in there!" He spat, irritated, just wanting to get back. "I saw her!" Finally, Alden stopped standing there staring at him, and looped his arm over his shoulders and helped him limp back to towards their hideout.

Effie sighed, she was stuck with a group of assholes, without Ezra. She was weak because she hadn’t eaten, her wounds weren’t healing, and she just wanted to be home. She needed to be alone so she could think. Slyder pulled her up wrapping an arm around her waist tightly and she winced from the pain.

She tried pushing him away only this he held her tighter and his grip on her spine, that was still sore from being thrown into a brick wall, was rough, she was regrettably at his mercy. Although on the outside she pretended she was perfectly fine.

“You smell like that hunter.” Slyder said in a low, threatening voice as he glared at her.

She rolled her eyes “Yeah, cause he showed up at the party and we beat the shit out of each other.” She said with perfect execution “Why else would I look like shit, you know he’s the only one I can’t seem to kill.” She sighed. “Now let go of me so I can put that poor girl out of her misery.” She smirked

Slyder still seemed suspicious but he let her go knowing she needed to eat. She made her way to the room slipping in, the young girl was the only on in the room curled up in the corner knees to her chest crying. She glanced up to the princess.

“I’m not going to hurt you.” Effie said locking the door and sitting down in front of it. She was afraid if she stayed out there any longer Slyder or one of the other Vampires would try something and she wouldn’t be able to fight back. “You’re a hunter?” Effie asked, knowing she’d seen her somewhere before.

The girl nodded, figuring there was no point in lying, convinced she was going to die. “Still in training.” She sniffled.

“But I’ve seen you out before with Griffin and the rest of his crowd.” She said with a smirk.

“Yeah and you’re the princess.” She swallowed.

Effie nodded “You think you can take me to him?” she asked, the girls eyes widened shaking her head frantically “Why not?” she raised a brow.

“Fin would kill me.” The girl sighed. Effie rolled her eyes irritated, she couldn’t exactly force the girl to tell her, she was being used as a snack for vampires and even with the princess in her presence, she wasn’t willing to give up their hideout.

“You’re dead if you stay here
so you’d be dead either way.” Effie said honestly. "If it was me...I'd much rather take my chances with Fin." she shrugged.

Evan made sure to tell a few of the servant to clean out his study, knowing the girl’s body was still in there. He wondered around absentmindedly, making sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to like he normally did. He walked by the kitchen and instantly, the smell of Pippa’s blood hit him.

He debated on continuing through the house, but he really had nothing to do. There were two kitchens in the Mansion. One for the servants cooked all their meals and the other where the servants cooked for the royals. He was glad pip was in the servants kitchen, because he knew, most the servants had already eaten and were doing there chores.

Evander was quite, quitter than any other vampire and that’s one of the things that made him one of the most dangerous. He slipped in to the kitchen silently, smirking when he saw pip. He didn’t bother to close the door not wanting her to know he was there. He walked up behind her, his cool fingertips running down the length of her arms. He kiss the fang marks on her neck, that he’d given her. His lips on the fang marks though, seemed almost as if he was marking her as his.

“If you find yourself finishing your chores early and you have nothing better to do. Feel free to come wake me up.” He smirked spinning her quickly to face him placing a hand on the back of her neck and pulling her into a quick rough kiss. “Or you could just play with that little boyfriend of yours.” She smirked arrogantly still holding her to him tightly.

He didn’t want to let her go, the way her warm body felt against his cold body was something he couldn’t explain, every time he’d touched her it sent waves of electricity and heat through his entire body. He pulled her closer, closing any reaming space between them. Pressing his lips to her again, the kiss was deeper. He pulled away finally releasing her from his tight grip.

“Better get to work.” He winked.

Pippa was standing at the stove, making herself some eggs when she felt a familiar icy tingle run down her arms and knew instantly who was behind her, even though he hadn't said anything, merely touched her. He leaned down asn kissed the marks on her neck, and she shivered and one hand reached up to touch the tattoo on her collarbone. It was like he was claiming her. She bit her lip.

“If you find yourself finishing your chores early and you have nothing better to do. Feel free to come wake me up.” He said, and she was about to tell him she had better things to do, even though it was a lie, when he whirled her around to face him so fast her head spun and she had no time to protest before his lips were on hers in a rough kiss. And she couldn't help it. She kissed back.

He pulled away finally, and she looked up at him, torn between pulling away, or letting him continue to hold her and kiss her. “Or you could just play with that little boyfriend of yours.” He said with an arrogant smirk and she rolled her eyes.

But didn't have time to pull away before he was kissing her again, holding her tighter and closing the last bit of space between them. Something in the back of her mind told her that the door was open. That anyone could find them, like Trevor, who had a bad habit of following her around, but she pushed the thought away and let him kiss her, kissing him back with a soft moan.

He pulled away again, and, this time, released her completely. She took a step back from him and tried to catch her breath. “Better get to work.” He said with a wink and she rolled her eyes again.

"He's not my boyfriend." She spat. "He's my..." Pippa hesitated. She didn't have friends. So what was Trevor? "He's my partner." She decided simply with a shrug. "And thanks to you, I'm a little too tired to do any 'playing.'" She said, though it was a lie, she'd always have energy for him because his touch energized her, and, as much as she wanted to deny it, she was fully intending on finding him later.

It was horrible, and Griffin was bound to kill her of he found out, and so would Trevor, and so would his sister, and just about everyone on the planet, but she couldn't help herself. He was too enticing. Eventually, she knew she'd have to kill him. Otherwise he'd try to change her. But she could do it couldn't she? She didn't make attachments.

So what was so wrong with having a little fun with him before she had to kill him? Pippa didn't want to think about it so she turned away from him again, returning to the stove, dumping her eggs on a plate before turning to look at him again with a smirk. "What do you care if he's my boyfriend anyway?" She said with a shrug. "I know you think you own me, but I still hate your kind, and I'm still going to get out of here, whether or not I have to kill you to do it."

They managed to make it all the way back to the hideout, and Alden called for Henna, the girl who'd been taking care of his wounds earlier, who was clearly Amie's replacement as head Healer. She nodded from across the room and grabbed her things before running after them, following them into the back room that connected the leader's rooms.

Alden set him down, and Henna came to stand before him and he smirked when he saw her. She had henna tattooing all over her body. A lot of the Hunters didn't use their real names. They used nicknames they'd come up with for each other, and Griffin could tell how Henna had gotten her nickname.

She handed him a handful of pills and some tea and he sighed and swallowed the pills and tea down swiftly before she slipped out of the room again, leaving him, Alden, and Monster alone.

Alden plopped down in a seat across from him, and kicked his legs up on the coffee table while Monster claimed the couch, as usual. "So." Alden said, looking at him and ignoring his newspaper. "You saw Pippa?"

There was hope in his eyes, but also suspicion. Like he wasn't sure he was telling the truth. "Yes, and I'm positive it was her." He said, shaking his head. "Effie had her." He looked at his brother and shrugged. "We have to get her out of there."

"Well I don't know how we'll do it Fin." He said, shaking his head. "They keep the servants underground, and Pip's no ordinary girl. She's and ex-hunter and the sister of the leaders. And she's a fighter, meaning she's probably tried to escape on more than one occasion. They're not going to let her go out on shopping duty. They'll keep her locked up."

Griffin's fists clenched. "So you're saying we leave her there?!" He shouted, suddenly angry. "She's my sister Alden! What about Trevor?! If she's there, he might be there too you know?!"

Fin saw Alden flinch at the mention of Trevor. Trev was his blood brother. Griffin was their foster brother, and Pippa was like a sister to them, though she'd never actually been one. "I want them back too, but it's not worth risking everything we've set up. Even Pippa wouldn't want that. She'd call you an idiot."

Fin sighed, feeling himself calming a little, though weather it was the drugs that were starting to take effect, or the logic in Alden's words, he didn't know. "Well there has to be something." He said simply.

Effie rolled her eyes knowing she wasn’t going to give up their location, she also knew it was suicide walking into a place full of hunters, the same as it would be for a single hunter to walk in a room full of vampires. No matter how strong either of them were.

“Don’t worry about it
I’ll see if I can get you outta her alright.” She gave her a weak smile “Those assholes have to fall asleep sooner or later.” She smirked.

“Why are you doing this?” the girl asked confused.

“Would you rather me kill you?” Effie asked with a smirk.

The girl shook her head, Effie sighed. She knew she was going to be locked in the room for a while, because she didn’t want anything to do with Slyder or the others.

He lend against the counter grabbing an apple and taking a bite from it boredly, as he watched her for a moment.

"He's not my boyfriend. He's my..." She hesitated. "He's my partner. And thanks to you, I'm a little too tired to do any 'playing.'" he rolled his eyes knowing it was a lie. It was quiet for a moment she spoke again "What do you care if he's my boyfriend anyway? I know you think you own me, but I still hate your kind, and I'm still going to get out of here, whether or not I have to kill you to do it." he smirked, finding her questions and accusations humorous.

He waited to answer for a long moment before he answered with an arrogant look on his face. He wasn’t going to let her know that he cared whether or not it was her boyfriend. Even though deep down, he hated that kid being around her, he’d always hated the way he followed her around. He shrugged casually.

“I don’t care, It’s up to you who you want to fuck.” He said calmly “I just know you’d rather be with me.” He laughed lightly, before turning and heading towards the door. “You couldn’t kill me if you tried.” He smirked before disappearing out of the kitchen.

It was quiet for a while before he shot her an arrogant look and shrugged casually, as though he didn't care. "I don't care, it's up to you who you want to fuck." He said simply. "I just know you'd rather be with me." He laughed and she rolled her eyes as he turned towards the door. "You couldn't kill me if you tried." He said with a smirk before slipping away.

Don't be so sure. She thought to the empty room, standing there for a second before hopping up on the counter and eating her breakfast hungrily, practically ravenous from her loss of blood.

After eating and a cup of coffee, Pip felt a little better so she hopped down from the counter, and with a long sigh, slipped out of the kitchen to start her work. It wasn't extremely laborious work, but she was running on no sleep, and little energy, so she knew the day was going to be a long one.

She was late, she knew that, but she didn't really care, and, in all honesty, neither did the Vampires. They knew she was only there because her and Trevor were important for catching the Hunters, and they were so used to her showing up late that they didn't really pay too much attention anymore.

She went back to the servant's quarters where the guards handed her a list, saying nothing about her tardiness and she skimmed it, already deciding not to do half of it, before heading up the stairs to start doing the boring things she did everyday lik close drapes and wipe windows.

A couple of hours into her work, Pippa was bored. It was nearly impossible to keep her doing one task for long, so she was glad when she felt arms wrap around her and pull her back. Only, it wasn't the Prince, and she could tell by the way the body she was now pressed to lacked electricity. And it was warm. Meaning it was human. Which left Trevor. "Guess who?" He whispered against her neck and she laughed.

"Trevor, you're about as sneaky as an elephant. I'd know it was you from a mile away." She said, rolling her eyes and turning in his arms to face him. "Shouldn't you be working like the diligent little slave you are?" She asked with a wicked grin. Trevor may be a Hunter, but he wasn't fond of being punished like she was, so he followed the rules and did what the vampires told him, meaning that he sometimes got to leave to go shopping and such. But the only reason he hadn't yet run away was because of her.

"I got sick of it, and I kept thinking about you. And the gardens." He said with a laugh as he linked his fingers in hers and lead her towards the back door and outside. And Pippa didn't protest this time, just let him tug her to their usual spot, secluded, a place that rarely had visitors, and wrapped her arms around his neck.

"Good thing I was getting bored then too." She whispered with a smirk before kissing him.

He was nothing compared to Evan, but then, no one was. Pip slipped quickly back into her clothes before placing a small kiss on his lips and turning simply, without a word, leaving him there and heading back into the house. Her mind wandered, thinking about her brother as she roamed the halls, not really working, just thinking. Silently, she wondered just how long it would take before he tried to rescue her and what would happen if he did.

"If the Princess didn't know your face, their might be." He said with a roll of his eyes. "We could easily get past the guards, pretending to be servants, we used to do it before they started to recognize us, but if the former Queen, or the Princess, or the new King spotted us, we'd be fucked." He shrugged. "We wouldn't be helping anyone, we'd just be risking our lives."

Griffin rolled his eyes. "Isn't risking our lives what we do?" He asked seriously. "I mean, what's the point of rebelling if there's no risk?" He said, raising his eyebrows.

"If we risk our lives, we risk theirs too. If we die, they'll kill them because they're not useful anymore." He said shaking his head. "They're using them as bait Fin. They want us to come after them. Do you really want to head right into what they want?" He asked, raising his eyebrows, knowing that would get him.

And it did. He had a point. By going after Pippa and Trevor, they were taking the bait. At least as long as they hung back, they knew they'd be safe, but if they took the bait and failed then they would all lose their lives and everything would be over.

However, it was Pip. He'd thought she was dead for over a year, and he wanted her back. "I am for my sister and your brother." He said plainly and that made his friend sigh deeply in defeat as he realized he was fighting a fight he wasn't going to win.

"Fine." He said, clearly irritated as he sat back. "Then we take more of that drug, that way at least they wont be able to recognize us by scent." He said with a shrug, like it was casual, though Griffin knew better, and could tell he was pissed. "And we'll get the names of two servants outside today, we'll sneak in and head for the servant's quarters and wait there for them until night. The Royals are less likely to go down there, and we know we'll find them because they have to return there at some point to go to bed."

"Sounds good." Griffin said with a smirk. "Get the drug. We might as well go today."

Effie had left the girl alone and made some lame excuse about how she wasn’t hungry after all. She’d went to bed with Slyder with the intent to sleep, only they didn’t sleep. After their rough sex session he’d fallen asleep and she’d been left alone with her thoughts. The way Slyder touched her and kissed her it was nothing compared to Griffin and for the first time in a long time that was something that actually frightened her.

She sat up on her side, leaning on her elbow as she watched Slyder sleep, she played with his dreams. She watched as he became paralyzed in his state of hellish nightmares that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t wake up from until she allowed him to. The somber, peaceful look on his face had turned hard and pained. Her dark and twisted thoughts had completely invaded his dreams.

But, no matter how much she tortured Slyder, the thought of Griffin and her wouldn’t fade. She’d managed to figure out why his death clock had disappeared, because they fallen for each other and their kiss was proof enough and eventually she’d turn him or another vampire would.

“Persephone stop! She heard someone yell causing her to look up at a young female vampire, who look absolutely terrified as she looked at Slyder, causing Effie to look down at him.

“Shit.” She whispered. Blood streamed down his face from the corners of his eyes, there was a large gash across his chest, that oozed blood, and his whole body was shaking. She’d been so lost in thought she’d taken his nightmares too far and she released him immediately. She shook him trying to wake him up, others had gathered outside the bedroom door, in shock at the way there leader looked.

Seph stood up, she knew he’d be okay, just not for a while. She pushed past a few of the members before feeling on of them grab her and turn her to face them.

“Effie it’s not your fault.” He said, knowing sometimes she lost control of her powers. Effie glanced to the clock, she’d be able to leave, even if she got a couple burns from the sun it was better than staying there. She ripped her arm away.

“It is my fault.” She spat, before heading out side, she could feel the sun on her skin burning, but it was weak, as the sun started to disappear behind buildings.

After Evander had slipped out of the kitchen he head back upstairs, peaking into Effie’s room hoping by some chance she’d just been wondering around the house, unfortunately her room was still empty and Ezra laid on her back lifting his head to see Evan before laying back down on his paws. Evan sighed, he was growing more and more worried that Effie hadn’t returned home. It wasn’t like she hadn’t stayed away for days at a time before, but the fact that hunters had been there last night worried him.

He sighed, closing the door behind him before heading to his room for the rest of the day. The royal guards took their normal post. Two outside Effie’s door, Two outside the queen’s door, and one outside of Evan’s door, simply because he could take care of himself. He slipped into his room slipping into a pair of sweats, not bother with a shirt, before crawling into bed, exhausted from the night.

A knock on his door brought him from his quite, slumber and he groaned not wanting to get up. He sat up running a hand through his messy hair, before heading to the door and a part of him hoped it was Pip. He opened the door and to his disappointment, it was only his uncle.

“Evander, The sun sets in an hour. You’ll be crowned king tonight, you must prepare.” He said calmly looking over his nephew.

His uncle was a royal to, only he didn’t live with them, he lived up the road and unlike Evan’s father he wanted nothing to do with the upraise of the vampires, in fact he was always quite found of the humans. Evan nodded, though he became distracted when he caught a glimpse of Pippa’s pink locks as she roamed the hall.

“Evander.” His uncle said bringing his attention back to him.

“Yeah, I’ll be ready.” He sighed, his uncle frowned before turning away from Evan and heading towards Effie’s room.

“Oh Uncle, you don’t want to wake her, rough night.” He smirked “She’ll probably just stay home, you know Ef, she doesn’t much care for any political bull.” He said with a shrug, before shutting the his bedroom door.

Pippa wasn't really paying attention to where she was going and before she knew it, she was just down the hall from the Prince's room, and the sound of voices dragged her from her thoughts, making her stop walking as she listened for a second. The Prince's uncle was telling him to be ready to be crowned.

Before she was noticed listening, Pip sighed and turned around, heading back the way she'd come and quickly slipping into a side hall. As much as she wanted to take the Prince up on his offer to see him again, she couldn't. She didn't want to think about the way his hands on her had made her feel. Or worse. The way she'd enjoyed it when he'd fed from her. Or his threats to Change her.

It was to much. She shouldn't have slept with him, and she knew if she got too close to him, she wouldn't be able to stop herself from kissing him again. That was why she'd forced herself to head down the stairs as quickly as she could. Before she had a chance to change her mind. She was a Hunter. She'd practically promised her life to killing his kind, and the only reason she wasn't at the moment was because she was stuck in a houseful of them.

She couldn't be sneaking around with a vampire. And worse. The King of the vampires. It was like a cop stealing or a priest doing drugs. Hypocritical and wrong.

A floor lower, Pippa was able to think again and she sighed and wandered around a bit more before deciding she'd turn in early. She didn't want to do anymore work, and she was exhausted, having had sex twice in the last twenty four hours, and letting the Prince drink from her.

So she made her way back to the stairs and down into the servant's quarters, passing the two guards there and opening the doors to the big room with all their beds and her makeshift cell.

Inside, on the farthest bed, sat her brother. "Holy fuck." She spat loudly, causing the guards behind her to stir, and she closed the doors behind her quickly. Griffin stood, looking like he was going to say something, but Pippa was quick, and grabbed his arm, dragging him with her into her little room, closing the door behind them before turning to face him, fiery anger on her face.

"What the fuck are you doing here?!" She spat. "Are you absolutely insane?!" She hissed, knowing he were there to rescue her.

The new med girl, Henna came back into the room with the same drugs they'd taken the night before. Griffin was exhausted, and knew going out injured and on no sleep was dangerous, but the drugs would keep him running. He allowed the girl to inject him, but stopped her when she went for Alden. "Wait." He said, and his partner looked at him, confused. "Maybe only one of us should do it." He said, knowing Alden would hate the idea, seeing as he was injured, but Griff went on. "It's not that hard of a job if things go right, but if they don't, I don't think we should both be in there."

Alden looked upset, but let him continue. "If I die, then at least you can keep running the Hunters, and then maybe they won't kill Pippa and Trev. If we're both in there and both die, then it's over for all of us." He shook his head and Alden hesitated, but eventually nodded and agreed, standing a little irritably, and going into his room to sleep

Getting in had been easier than he'd thought. After injecting himsef, Griffin had simply slipped out into the daylight and headed for the bright vampire side of town. He'd spent a few hours at the stores, trying to find a male Royal servant, and, as soon as he had, he traded the information on where their hideout was, telling him that he could head back there and be safe, for his name and servant's clothes.

Then he'd simply told the guards at the mansion his fake name, and, thankfully, he wasn't recognized. After that, all he'd done was slip down into the servant's quarters, passing the two guards there who didn't bother him, and layed back on one of the beds to wait for Pippa to come back.

Eventually, she did, and he stood, but she looked pissed and dragged him into a small room off to the side with a bed and walls that were covered in graffiti that could only be hers. He raised his eyebrows as she yelled at him, looking around. "You have your own special cell?" He said with a smirk. "You must cause a lot of trouble. I'm proud."

This only pissed her off more and she rolled her eyes. "Get the fuck out of here while you still can Griff!" She spat.

"Not without you and Trevor." He shrugged casually and sat on her bed.

"Oh, so what was your big plan exactly? Come in here on the night the Prince is supposed to be announced King, litterally the night after killing the previous King, and sneak me out of here without anyone catching you?!" She rolled her eyes. "Brilliant. That's just brilliant Griff. First of all, Vampires are bound to be all over the place, second of all, thanks to you and Alden, security will probably be doubled, and finally, even if it was a regular night, how the fuck did you expect to get me past the guards?"

He rolled his eyes. "Have some faith in me sis." He said simply with a laugh before his laugh was cut short as he spotted something on her neck and stood, grabbing her quickly before she could yank away, looking at the bite marks on her neck. "Don't tell me they've turned you into a blood bag?" He said, suddenly tense. "Who gave those to you?" He demanded, grip tightening dangerously as he glared at her.

Persephone finally reached the mansion at dark, Other Royals began to show up and for a moment she was confused until she realized her brothers crowning was going to be broadcast live for all humans and vampires alike to see their new king and she sighed. Her entire body burned and her perfect porcelain complexion was cracked like an old broken doll and she’d been close to death from taking the chance a riding home. One side of her face looked almost completely shattered, like the pieces of a broken mirror. She was still quite beautiful even with all the creaks in her skin, it just looked as though she’d fall apart at any moment.

She managed to slip around back keeping to the shadows so no one could see her. She cursed under her breath, seeing her window was closed and she tossed a few rocks, before Ezra in his human form opened the window and she glided onto the roof effortlessly before crawling into the window. Ezra’s eyes widened.

“Effie what the hell happened to you.” He said looking her over before pulling her into a gentle hug. She felt safe again and when Ezra hugged her everything seemed to fall away and she lend her head against his chest as he held her and let tears escape her eyes, she didn’t have to pretend around Ezra and it felt good to actually cry. “Shh
babe it’s alright.” He whispered calming her down. “I know this isn’t the best time to tell you this, but that hunter’s back.” He sighed.

Effie stopped crying almost immediately, she knew why he’d come back, but on the night of her brother’s crowning, he was playing with death. Effie rolled her eyes, more than anything she just wanted to crawl in bed and lay with Ezra and let her body heal. But she couldn’t and she knew she was pushing herself too far, even being a royal vampire you had your limits and she was reaching hers. She pushed Ezra away and rolled his eyes.

She slipped on a strapless black corset dress and tying a red velvet cloak around her neck so that it would hid her skin.

“You’re not seriously thinking about going to fight him, you’re going to get yourself killed.” Ezra said grabbing her as she reached for the door.

She ripped her arm away harshly “I can’t die remember, no death clock.” She smirked darkly as she slipped out of the room.

As much as Evan wanted to blow off the crowning like he had last night he’d promised himself last night was just a onetime thing, it had to be for both his and Pepper’s sake. Because when it came down to it, they’d end up the same as Romeo and Juliet
both inevitably killing each other. According to Effie you could cheat fate and change your clock, although she’d never seen it happen she’d told him it was possible and he knew now that it was possible. Because there relationship was bound to end in devastation, nothing good can come from an immortal loving a mortal.

He sighed as he slipped on a pair of black slacks, a white dress shirt, and a black tie. He slicked back his hair tying the small amount of it back to keep it out of his face. Once he was finished he slipped out of his room just in time to see Effie slipping out of her room, her black wolf at her side perusal. But, he knew something was off and silently he slipped up beside her, grabbing her and pulling her hood off.

“Oh fuck, Persephone
what happened to you, did you spend the whole damn day in the such?” he said worried for her. She looked weak and he could tell by the way she hadn’t fought back she was weak. “You need to rest.” He said releasing her.

“No.” she shook her head “Griffin’s here, he came to get Penelope. We have stop him.” She said not bothering to wait for him, as she pulled the hood back over her head to cover her skin. She disappeared down stairs towards the servants quarters.

His fist tightened and his jaw clenched, he quickly ordered security around harshly pissed off they’d let him slip in. He ordered that none of the slaves leave and no one else enter, he’d ordered a complete lock down of the mansion until Griffin was found. Before he quickly followed after his sister, but Ezra had stopped her, growling at her just outside Pip’s small room.

Evan didn’t bother to wait, he threw the door open and his anger immediately spiked when he saw Griffin. He moved quicker than Effie had ever seen him move, grabbing the hunter and effortlessly tossing him from the room causing him to fly into one of the walls at a dangerous rate. His eyes were lit with a murderous glint and he bared his teeth. Other servants shuttered at the anger of the prince as Evan ordered two guards to grab him and they did, peeling him from the wall and standing him up. Effie stood in complete shock and she even feared her brother at that moment, her brother never really lost his cool and when he did she put him back in his place, but his anger was too far gone and if she tried now he’d probably hurt her.

“Give him his number.” The prince spat darkly “He wants to pretend to be one of my slaves, wish granted.” He said harshly.

Pippa was about to rip herself away from Griffin when suddenly, the door behind her flew open, causing him to let go of her, and her to whirl to see the Prince standing there, looking dangerously angry, and she couldn't really blame him. For all he knew, Griffin had killed his father. Effie and her wolf were also there and Evan reached out swiftly, grabbing Griffin and dragging him from the room, throwing him into one of the walls dangerously fast.

"Fuck." She muttered under her breath, but didn't move, just stayed where she was, watching as Evan had two guards grab Griffin from either side.

The Prince looked royally pissed, and she could tell that crossing him would only end in death. Even Effie looked frightened. "Give him his number." Evan spat, causing Pippa's eyes to widen. "He wants to pretend to be one of my slaves, wish granted."

Don't play the hero. A voice was telling her. Hang back, you'll live, and so will he. Pippa shook her head and bit her lip. Sure, he'd live, but he'd be a slave like her, and he wouldn't be helping anyone stuck in captivity like she was. Her instinct was telling her to stay put, but something else in her was telling her to act. It was a tough choice, seeing as Pip was the kind of person to make sure her safety was ensured, and that was all.

However, she was also the type of person who liked to do the unexpected and the impossible. So she smirked and moved quickly, quicker than most humans could move. She was behind them, in her room still, so she had the advantage, but if she delayed and one of the vampires, who were faster than her, saw her, she'd be stopped and she'd be no help.

She she dove for her bed and pulled two kitchen knives from underneath it that she'd stolen and hid away for a possible escape. She hadn't used them yet because it was stupid to do so when there were so many vampires around her and she would be easily outnumbered, but now was a good time. So she grabbed them and went back to her doorway.

Evan was between her and Griffin, his back to her, and, without hesitating, she threw the knives, one sinking cleanly to the handle into the arm of the vampire holding Griff on the right, the other hitting the other guard straight into the heart, killing him instantly.

Griff was released suddenly, and Pip glared at him, hoping he wouldn't try to be a retard and fight.

Thankfully, she watched him take off running, before flicking her eyes back to the Price, knowing he'd be pissed. "Don't fucking touch him." She spat, her tone forceful, almost challenging, knowing it was stupid to try and order him around when she was weaponless again, but hoping it would turn his anger away from Griff and onto her. She'd played the hero, and now she was determined to make sure her risk wasn't wasted. If Griffin managed to get himself caught, she'd kill him herself.

Pippa wasn't answering him, and he was about to shake her and demand to know, feeling his anger starting to rise, when the door opened suddenly, revealing the Prince and the Princess, as well as her loyal, talking, dog. "Shit." He managed to mutter to himself. The dog must have given him away. The drug in his system hid his scent from the vampires, but not to whatever the Princess's pet was, because he knew better than to call it just a wolf. It wasn't. He'd heard it talk, and it had caught his scent from floors and floors above him.

The Prince threw him from the room, effortlessly into a wall, causing him to collide with it with shocking force. Blood trickled from his nose as two guards grabbed him from either side and forced him to stand, holding his arms in front of the Prince, who looked more than a little pissed.

Most people would probably beg not to be killed, but Griffin just smirked tauntingly through his blood, glaring at the soon-to-be King before glancing behind him, at Effie. "Give him his number." The Prince ordered, bringing his attention back to him and making him raise his eyebrows. "He wants to pretend to be one of my slaves, wish granted."

A flash of movement over the Prince's shoulder, behind Effie caught his attention, and he glanced over to see Pippa moving quickly. He flicked his eyes to Effie, acting as though he hadn't even heard the Prince, like he wasn't there. "Miss me dollface?" He asked tauntingly, hoping to keep their attention off Pippa so she'd have time to do whatever she was doing.

Suddenly, before Effie could respond, Pippa reappeared in her doorway, and there was a soft thud, followed by another. The guards holding him both released him and he glanced over to see that they'd each been hit by a knife from Pepper, one of them dead.

He wanted to fight and get Pip out of there, but he knew she'd be pissed that he'd wasted her efforts and he'd only lose, so he turned and took off, bursting from the room and up the stairs, heading for the back door where he could hopefully hop the garden fence and get away.

She stopped breathing when she saw how angry her brother was, it was nearly impossible to calm him now and he’d kill anyone in his path. She finally started breathing again when she saw the arrogant smirk on Griffin’s face, though she was more amazed by the fact he hadn’t died on impact.

"Miss me dollface?" he taunted and she smirked although her face was hidden in shadow from the cloak.

She watched as knives went flying into each of the guards and she glanced to Pippa, worried for her, that would only piss Evan off worse that she’d dared to save her brother. She almost felt bad for her, she glanced back to see Griffin had disappeared.

“Effie
find him.” Evander ordered harshly as if she was simply one of hi mindless drone vampires he’d turned that were bound to him.

Normally she would have had no problem beating the shit out of him and telling him to calm down, but she hadn’t seen him this mad since his ex-wife was taken by hunters, which had been at least twenty years ago. She nodded before taking off in the direction he’d gone, she couldn’t smell his blood due to whatever drug he’d taken, but Ezra could so she followed after him, into the back yard where just the night before the garden had been sparkling with lights, now it was pitch black and eerily the sky held no moon, making it that much darker.

She knew Fin was injured which meant he couldn’t get too far, she skimmed over the garden looking for any movement, until the faint scent of his blood hit her, the drug was wearing off. She smirked darkly.

“Let it go Ef, your too weak to fight him.” Ezra whispered

“I’m not weak.” She spat correcting him.

“Got you.” She smirked finally spotting him and in a blur of motion to quick for Ezra to keep up with she disappeared, before refocusing in front of Griffin.

“Hey babe, leaving so soon?” she asked with a fake pout, before grabbing him and pulling him close wincing, though it was hidden by the hood of her cloak. The familiar electricity of him being so close excited her, but she had to keep a level head. “The parties just getting started.” She darkly, as she ran a finger along his chest the same way she’d done to Slyder, sending high voltage shocks of pain through out his body.

As soon as Effie had left, he turned to face Pip. There was a hard almost demonic sharpness to his face, his eyes sunken in more, and no white left in his eyes, his eyes were completely black, the structure of his face had gone from human to monster. He no longer had the alluring look of the prince everyone knew. The look was only known to be lore of the vampires, no one had ever seen a vampires true form because as they’d evolved, they’d learned how to keep the darker side of them locked away. But, Evander was always darker and he’d never learned quite how to lock the monster he really was away. She his true form was showing and it was enough to scare the bravest of souls.

A dangerous smirk played on his lips, making the contours of his new appears seem even wicked. In a blur of motion he disappeared and reappeared centimeters from her face. He shoved her harshly into her small room closing the door behind them an cutting them off from any help that anyone would be stupid enough to try and give her. He forced her against the wall harshly, pinning her there roughly, it would leave nasty bruises.

“You think you’re so big and bad
I’d love to break you.” He laughed “I’d love to hear you scream.” He whispered, it was apparent the prince’s rage was blinding him and he’d lost all control.

He dug his nails into her wrists, he knew it’d burn her skin, it was like a poison to human skin. He slit both of her wrists, his nails like razors to her skin. He tightened her grip and at this point if she struggled she’d be breaking bones.

He quickly maneuvered both wrists into one hand and pinned them over her head harshly, adding to her the collection of bruises she’d have in the morning. The blood from her wrist dripped down her arms and the smell of the blood, was intoxicating and started to bring the real him back, all though he was fighting with his rage. He black eyes stared at her darkly, like he was trying to stop himself, but his rage managed to override the smell of her blood and her placed his free hand around her throat, tightening his grip and cutting off her airways.

Pippa watched as the Prince made Effie go after her brother before he whirled to face her, and Pippa's breathing picked up. He looked terrifying. Her fear of vampires was something she told no one, and she used it to fuel her rebellion against them, but suddenly, it was crippling, and she had to fight the urge to scream.

He smirked dangerously, and she knew she'd be lucky if she made it out of whatever he wanted with her alive. He blurred and reappeared extremely close to her, shoving her back, into her room and slamming the door closed behind them, cutting them off from the outside.

Before she could even blink, he'd forced her up against the wall so hard it knocked the breath out of her and she looked up at him, struggling to keep her fear under control. "You think you're so big and bad.. I'd love to break you." He said with a laugh, and she glared at him. Despite her fear, she wasn't caving. She wasn't going to give him that satisfaction. "I'd love to hear you scream." He whispered, his breath cold on her skin, and she had to fight the urge to shiver.

His nails dug into the skin of her wrists, burning, and she winced briefly in pain as he cut them, causing fresh blood to ooze to the surface of her skin. He yanked her arms up above her and she let out a small cry of pain as he tightened his grip so that she was completely immobile. If she tried to move, she'd break something. She could tell just by the way his grip on her wrists felt like it was bending her bones slowly.

His hand came up and wrapped around her throat, cutting off her air, causing her eyes to widen as she glanced around. She had to think fast. She could beg while she still had her voice, but there was no way she was doing that. She'd rather let him choke her to death than beg for her life from a vampire.

"Go ahead." She spat with what was left of her breath. "Kill me." She wasn't really going to let him kill her, she would rather yank her wrist from his grip and break her bones, using her elbow to shove him away, then die, but she wanted him to think she wasn't afraid so she did her best to keep her gaze steady as she worked up the courage to break her wrist. Her vision started to blur and blacken and she knew her time was running out.

Griff managed to make it out into the garden, and was headed towards a low point in the wall he'd used before when Effie suddenly came into focus in front of him, causing him to stop dead in his tracks. “Hey babe, leaving so soon?” She asked before grabbing him and yanking him close. He smirked and rolled his eyes. “The party's just getting started.” She said, and ran a finger down his chest.

Suddenly, pain erupted from inside him. It was indescribable. It was like being set on fire, being hit by a car, and being shot at over and over again all at the same time. Every part of him hurt.

However, he managed to suppress a cry and let out only a low, miserable groan before shoving her roughly away, able to breathe once again as his pain subsided slowly. The good thing was, the pain from his knife wounds from earlier felt like nothing compared to what she'd just done to him.

He looked at her, pulling out a knife, though he really didn't want to fight her. Despite what she'd just done, what he really wanted was to kiss her again. He couldn't help it. He'd been thinking about it all day.

So he stepped up close to her, pressing the tip of the knife against her heart with a smirk. One swift motion and she'd be dead, and he could stab faster than she could make the choice to blur away. "You really want to drag me back there and watch your brother kill me?" He said with a laugh as he shook his head, wrapping an arm around her waist, pulling her closer so she couldn't move, though not moving the knife from her chest. "I think we keep running into each other because you want something else." He said with a wicked smirk, eyes on hers before he shoved her away suddenly.

"We're both weak." He said, shaking his head as he took a step back to keep himself from grabbing her again and kissing her. "I don't want to kill you because, honestly, I don't have it in me tonight, but if I have to, I will."

She was satisfied with his groan, knowing her single touch had caused him paralyzing pain, she sighed as she rolled her eyes. She watched as he pulled out his knife, knowing what was coming next and she debated disappearing and letting him go like Ezra had begged her to, but more than anything she wanted him to pull her in again so she could feel his body against hers.

He stepped up to her and pressed the knife against her chest, she smirked knowing he wouldn’t do it. He couldn’t stab her, just as much as she couldn’t continue to cause him pain.

"You really want to drag me back there and watch your brother kill me?" she rolled her eyes because she was certain he knew what the answer would be. "I think we keep running into each other because you want something else." his grip was tight on her and anyway she tried to move the knife would pierce her heart. He shoved her away and she finally let out the breath she’d been holding in. "We're both weak. I don't want to kill you because, honestly, I don't have it in me tonight, but if I have to, I will."

“Why’d you come alone?” she asked raising a brow “That’s not like you hot shot.” She smirked “You knew full well we’d catch you.” She said stepping closer to him, closing the space between them. “You didn’t come for your sister.” She taunted “I think you came for me.” She whispered wrapping her arms around his neck.

She placed her lips to his kissing him deeply, her whole body felt warm electric shock pass through it and she moan against his lips, leaning into the kiss and for a moment she lost herself. She knew kissing him was bad, considering it should never feel as good as it did kissing him, to kiss any mortal, but she couldn’t help it. She smirked against his lips as she placed her cold hand on his hand that held the knife slowly placing it over her heart, before taking a step back, opening her arms making it herself completely open.

“You talk a lot of shit babe, do it.” She challenged him knowing he couldn’t.

"Go ahead. Kill me." she spat, with what breath she had left, but he knew better he could smell her fear, just as clearly as he could smell her blood.

He tightened hi grip around her neck, watching her struggle to stay conscious. He laughed darkly amused by her pain. He heard his uncle calling his voice, it was muffled and faded, coming from upstairs and he released Pippa, throwing her to the ground harshly, seconds before she would have passed out.

He turned away from her reaching for the door and he could feel his, rage seep from his body, and his face softened back to it human features. He glanced over his shoulder seeing her on the floor and her sighed.

“Pip
I apologize for losing my temper.” He whispered and he was honestly surprised she was still alive, it was miracle he hadn’t killed her.

There was nothing he could really say to make the situation better, saying he’d lost his temper was an understatement. He opened the door to a room full of terrified servants expecting him to ask them to clean what was left of her only he didn’t. He simply walked past them in silence, ashamed of himself as he headed up to accept his position of the new king.

Evan's grip tightened even more around her neck, and she heard him laugh, though it sounded muffled and far away. Her head was swimming, and her vision was duplicating as black dots started to pop up and take over her sight. She was running out of time, and in an instant, she'd be unconscious and unable to fight back.

So she had to break her wrist. Pip closed her eyes tightly and moved to jerk her hand down, out of his grip violently, preparing for the pain and hoping she wouldn't cry out, when suddenly he released her and air rushed back into her lungs as he threw her to the side so quickly, she had no time to catch herself, and hit the floor.

Pippa coughed and sputtered, sucking in air like she'd thought she'd never have any again. She'd been seconds from either dying or breaking her own bones. The thought made her shudder violently, and she kept her head down as he moved towards the door, not even bothering to look up when he stopped and looked back at her, not wanting to see him.

"Pip..." He said, his voice softer than before and she raised her eyes to meet his, anger and hatred clear in her gaze. "I apologize for losing my temper." He whispered and she rolled her eyes and pulled herself up onto her bed.

"No, thank you." She said, shaking her head. "For reminding me what you are and why I kill your kind." She spat bitterly as he left, moving to the door and raising her coarse voice so he could hear her. The room was dead silent as he left and she looked around at the terrified servants, all looking at her with huge eyes and fear on their faces.

A room full of strangers that knew way too much about her and yet nothing at the same time. They were shocked that she wasn't dead and, in all honesty, so was she. "Get your fucking eyes off me!" She spat bitterly, causing a few of them to jump as the silence of the room suddenly turned into a loud chatter, and she knew that most of them were talking about her.

Pip groaned and slammed the door of her room shut, going to sit on her bed, looking down at her bleeding wrists.

Not a minute after she'd sat, Trevor burst through her door, looking panicked. "Oh my god Pippa!" He panted as he closed the door and rushed over to her, ripping strips from his shirt and tying them tightly around her wrists before sitting on the bed next to her and pulling her tightly to him. "I'm sorry I didn't get hear earlier!" He said, shaking his head. "I heard from another servant that there was a hunter here, and I though that was a lie. Then they told me the Prince was killing you and I rushed right down here." He sounded out of breath and he squeezed her harder. "I thought I'd find nothing but a body." He said, shaking his head.

Pippa didn't protest to him holding her like she usually would have. Simply let him because it felt good to be held like she was important. "Please, just tell me the servants don't have to go to this stupid thing tonight." She groaned against him and he hesitated, causing her to groan again.

"It'll be over before you know it." He said, shaking his head. "We just have to go stand in rows and watch, then bow when he's crowned. A servant crowns him, but it won't be you. They'd be too afraid you would do something reckless and rebellious to mess it up, like put the crown on your own head to pick you." He said with a teasing laugh as he helped her stand gently and linked his fingers in hers. "Now come on, we have to go, and then you can sleep straight through the next four days. I'll do your work for you and they'll never know." He chuckled and she smiled at his efforts to make her feel better as he tugged her along with the other servants, though she already knew there was no way in hell she was bowing to the Prince when he was crowned King.

“Why’d you come alone?” She asked raising an eyebrow, looking amused. “That’s not like you hot shot.” She smirked. “You knew full well we’d catch you.” She said as she moved closer and he had to fight to keep from reaching out and grabbing her. “You didn’t come for your sister.” She taunted and he rolled his eyes. “I think you came for me.” She whispered as she slid her arms around his neck.

Her lips pressed suddenly against his and Griffin couldn't help it. His body responded before his mind had time to stop it. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, closing any little bit of space left between them, loving the way her body felt against his and wanting more. Wanting her skin on his. He didn't even notice as she used her hand to bring his knife over her heart until she pulled away and he looked at her as she took a step back and held her arms wide.

“You talk a lot of shit babe, do it.” She said tauntingly, and Griff rolled his eyes.

"I came alone to keep my Hunters safe. And I told you I didn't want to kill you unless I had to." He said with a shrug and a wicked smirk, tossing the knife away, letting it hit the grass a few feet from them. He turned back to her. He wasn't thinking straight, he knew that. Throwing the knife away, kissing her, wanting to hold her, it all went against everything he believed in, but he didn't care. It felt too good.

So his smirk grew bigger and he pulled her back to him, pressing his lips to hers, wrapping one arm tightly around her waist, and using his free hand to hold the back of her neck, pinning her firmly against him. "Why'd you come after me?" He finally whispered as he pulled back briefly to untie her cloak and push it off so he could move his kisses down her neck. "You don't want to take me back there anymore than I want to kill you." He smirked against her skin, whispering between kisses.
