In his apartment in a tall building in a metropolis located in Pruwas, Lionel was sitting on the couch, tying the laces of his left work shoe that he wore on his left foot, inhaling a cigarette placed between his lips while doing so. Done with his shoes, he held the cigarette with his index and middle finger away from his mouth and exhales blue smoke from his slightly pouting lips. The aroma of it was relaxing for him. He grabbed his work briefcase that was placed on the glass coffee table and moved to the front door where his keys were hanging to the left of it. He took the keys, span it around his index before opening the door. With that, he exited and left. The door locks automatically.

The sky was grey outside. It usually is. Rarely does the clouds part, revealing the sun and its rays. It was a mystery why it is the way it is but the inhabitants are used to it. Lionel was holding his briefcase hanging on his shoulders. The other hand were unlocking his vintage car with the keys, looking left then right while opening the door before getting in. It only took a moment for him to start the car and reverse it out of the parking space before driving the car forward which brought him to a junction to exit the building’s parking area. He stopped for a young blonde male riding a bike to pass before he continued in to the road that would take him to work.

While driving, somehow he thought of a good friend which currently resides in Lightwake. While the sun was rising in Pruwas, it is setting in where his friend is. It has been a while since he saw Trish and he misses the guy. Maybe l’ll check on the guy later Lionel thought

A grey tall building with no visible windows stands in a metropolis in Pruwas. In front of the building is a large glass front door, and on top of the door is the carving of giant words that spells GEN’S GENETIC. The building is a hospital. Different creatures go there with different reasons. Some go there to have their appearance repaired or modified, some to have their soul transferred from their dying body to another body, some to have their lost limbs replaced or changed into machines, and some comes for updates on their machine limbs. All this is possible as long as they have money.

It was night time in Pruwas. It was already time to get off work. Lionel collected the documents and papers that was on his desk and tidied them up before placing them on the cabinet beside and under the desk. His office was quite large. The walls were grey and the doors were wood, yellowing brown in colour. While outside the building were no windows, inside, you can see through the walls. After sending a text message using his cell phone, Lionel got up and out of his chair. He pushed the chair under the desk before walking in an elevator with his briefcase held hanging from his shoulder. His other hand was inside the pocket of his pants.

He got out of the elevator that took him from his office to the main lobby. He winked and smiled at the two female receptionists while heading towards the exit.

“See you tomorrow, Lionel” Qita said with a smile back. Milana also smiled back but she said nothing.

Lionel reached his car which was parked on in the parking area beside the Gen’s Genetics. He unlocked the door, opened the door behind, threw his briefcase in. He reached in the back pockets of the front seat and took out a small tear shaped bottle before closing the door. A few steps back was taken before he smashed the bottle on the ground. Lionel disappeared in a sudden black fire that enveloped his entire body.

In an alley way in Feather city, there was a drawn black sigil on the ground. The same black fire rose up from it before Lionel appeared. He looked around and up at the blue sky of Feather City. Casually, he walked out of the alley way, towards downtown.

He sat in a table outside of a coffee shop. A waiter came up to him asking what he wanted to drink. Black coffee was all that Lionel said before the waited nodded and walked back into the shop. There he sits and relax.

A tone played in Trish's pants caught his attention. From the front pockets, he took out a rectangular cell phone and checked it.

NEW MESSAGE FROM LIONEL

He pressed the screen and the message was shown.

I'm heading to feather city via teleportation

A smile was curved with Trish's lips. He typed for a reply and send it before continuing his work monitoring the gauges and sensors.

It was already pass noon in Lightwake. Trish shift is done for the day and he doesn’t have to go to work for another two days. When he reached his scooter, he quickly wore his helmet before starting the motor. A screech was heard before the scooter carried him away.

A few minutes later, Trish reached his apartment. Leaning his back to the wall of the building was Lionel, saluting Trish casually with a smile on.

"Lionel!" Trish cried out while parking his motor in front of the garage. He got off the scooter and took off the helmet, laying it on the seat before jogged towards Lionel with arms spread. Lionel did the same and they hugged.

"Long time no see, man" Trish said cheerfully while patting Lionel's back.

"You too, Trish" Lionel patted back and released

“So how’ve you been?” Trish questioned

“I’ve been good” Lionel answered “you?”

“Never been better, man” Trish grinned

“Hei, have you seen the fireflies in Clearwood before?” Lionel asked, smiling

“Ahh…” Trish thought for a moment before answering “No, I don’t think so”

A grin appeared on Lionel’s face. “Wanna check them out?” He invited

“Sure, I don’t need to go to work for another two days” Trish grinned back “Let me just lock my scooter in the garage first”

Excited, Trish ran to scooter and pushed it in front of the garage. The barrier surrounding the building opened up a little before the garage gate automatically opened. Trish pushed it in before running out again before the garage door and the barrier became whole once more.

Lionel placed his arm across Trish’s shoulder and took a small tear shaped glass bottle filled with red substance from his pant's front pocket. “Ready?” He questioned. Trish responded with a grin and nodded. The bottle was smashed on the ground and black flame rose from it. “Let’s go” Lionel said and both of them walked through the fire.

In the metropolis of Clearwood, on a large branch of a giant tree, there was a sigil carved. Black fire rose up from the sigil before Trish and Trish appeared. They both looked to their surroundings before at each other.

“This is Clearwood’s metropolis” Lionel told Trish “We have to take the air-taxi to get to the village where the fireflies are”

“After you” Trish responded and patted Lionel’s shoulders

Time has passed. Lionel and Trish reached the village with the air-taxi which they took from the metropolis. They were walking through the neighbourhood. Trish’s attention was to Lionel, exchanging stories with the half demon but wasn’t concentrating to where he was going

“I was savouring the moment when a black haired female elf appeared on the ro-“ Trish was talking

“Trish watch out” Lionel warned but it was late

Trish ran into a blonde male from behind.

Aiden was slightly irritated now, it seemed the sheriff was ungrateful. "You know what? Forget it! Forget you! You wanted me to ge rid of it, I did! It's never going to bother the town again, that's what you asked for!" Aiden felt his body begin to shudder and his eyes turned a light yellow color. "It isn't like those things don't reproduce quickly enough! It's one goddamn dragon Toko!" Aiden felt his nails begin to grow to a point, and he closed his eyes and began to take deep breaths. He knew he needed to get control of himself. He slowly opened his eyes once more and they were back to the normal brown color they always were, and the shaking in his body stopped. "You know what Toko? I don't need anything from you."

Aiden was just about to turn and walk away when a man bumped into him. He turned and there were two fairly handsome men behind him. "Uh, can I help you?"

"What? What is up with the sudden anger?" Toko muttered confusion.

"Sorry, wasn't paying attention to where I was going" Trish apologized.

In reflex, Lionel checked the blonde guy out. Their height seems to be the same but the blonde seems to be younger with a softer clean looking face and a well built body. In that moment, A feeling of attraction appeared in Lionel for the blonde.

Lionel watched Trish for a moment before turning his head back to the blonde. "you a native here?" Lionel questioned, starting a conversation between them.

Aiden shook his head at Toko. "I'll talk to you about it later, sheriff." He said to him in a slightly annoyed tone of voice. After that, he turned toward the two attractive men. Both had darker hair and a strong face, and they were both attractive. Though, Aiden had to admit that the paler one attracted him more than the other. "It's alright, don't worry about it." Aiden said to the tanner of the two men. He then directed his attention to the other man when he asked a question. "Nah. I come from Pruwas. D'you come from here?" He asked, his Australian twang coming out in his voice.

Toko left and headed towards Alica's house to check up on her. If Aiden wants to get paid, he would have to find the dog-kind beast-man later.

"Ah~" Lionel sounded amused. A flirting smile curved on his lips "you and I are from the same region" Lionel told the blonde.

Trish gave a friendly smile, constantly changing gaze from Lionel and the blonde. "I'm Trish" he introduced himself, giving the blonde a casual salute

"Lionel" Lionel introduced himself to the blonde.

While waiting for the blonde to respond, Lionel made a cigarette appear on his palm out of nowhere using a dimension spell and placed it between his lips. He covered the cigarette from the wind with his left hand and lighted it with blue flame that rose from the tip of his right hand index finger, pointing up to the cigarette.

Aiden chuckled slightly at the look on the man who's name was Lionel's face. It seemed he may be a bit flirty. "I've never seen you around. Maybe we need to change that." He said with a small smirk at the man. "I'm Aiden, by the way." He then turned his attention to Trish. "And it'd be nice to get to know you too." He gave a shy smile, feeling his shyness coming to him once more.

Ringing was heard coming from Trish's pants. He was startled by the sound and quickly took out a phone from the front pocket of his pants. He raised it for the two to see, excusing himself, before signing with his other hand for the two to continue chatting.

After moving away a few feet from the two for some privacy, he touched the screen of the phone then held it beside his head. "Hello?" Trish said and waited for a moment for a respond but there was none. "Hello? Is anyone there?" Trish questioned, frowning a little. “Oh" He said, his expression relaxed a bit. "Ella?" He asked. He nodded a couple of times in reflex even though the person on the other side of the line won't be able see him. "Hei that's great" He smiled and glanced at the two before turning away "I'm great, yeah. I'm currently in Clearwood with a friend. We teleported" He said, raising his brows. "Listen, I'll be back in a few hours, how bout you meet me in downtown later?" Trish asked Ella "I'll be at a bar called Duskbreak in 23rd street"

Meanwhile, Lionel was alone with Aiden. Lionel glanced at Trish before turning his attention back to the good looking blonde guy. The burning tip of the cigarette brightened up blue when Lionel pulled in air through the cigarette’s bud. He then held it between his index and middle finger, holding in his breath for a few seconds.

“We are going to watch the famous fireflies of Clearwood” Lionel told Aiden before exhaling grey smoke out which smelled like coffee. “You wanna join us, Aiden?” Lionel invited Aiden with a smile “that is if you aren’t busy or anything…”

Aiden cleared his throat a bit, his face turning slightly pink as the invitation was extended. Yep, the shyness was definantly back. "Uh, sure. If you guys don't mind. Don't want to, uh, intrude on anything." He rubbed the back of his head a bit. Right now he was feeling downright horrible for lashing out at Toko. Perhaps he hadn't meant that he didn't appreciate what Aiden did. Aiden gave a slightly frown as he thought about it.

Lionel smiled at Aiden before walking to his side. He gave Aiden’s shoulder a slight friendly punch to break the ice between them. Trish was done with the call, he then came up to the two.

“Ready to go?” Trish asked

“Aiden is coming with us” Lionel told Trish and placed his arm around the blonde, smiling.

“Oh both of you are friends already?” Trish grinned. “We’ll let’s go then”

Lionel nodded and looked at Aiden with a smiled before walking ahead, smoking his cigarette.

. . . . . .

They were waiting for the fireflies to appear on a field with tall but thin looking trees not far from the village. The first ten minutes was almost boring, nothing but darkness of the night. Only the sound of other animals like crickets no sight of the fireflies. The wind wasn’t blowing hard that night. Not much fluttering was done by the long grassed of the field. Lionel watched the trees in the jungle and the sky above before looking at the two which was not more than two feet away from him. A smile appeared on Lionel’s face. Somehow, it entertains him being in this condition with friends. He shook his head and he turned his gaze around once more.

A moment later, a tiny blue light could be seen flying around.

“Firefly…” Lionel whispered and nudged Trish for his attention

A second later, there were two. Another second more, there were three. A full five seconds later, thousands of tiny blue lights filled the area. Some was hanging to the trees while some were moving around the air, lighting up the area with blue. The sight was beautiful.

“Woo…” Trish muttered and grinned, amazed.

While gazing at the fire flies blue lights, Lionel walked backwards and stopped beside Aiden. For a moment, he was silent.

“Have you seen anything like this before?” He whispered a question to Aiden

As Lionel punched his shoulder, he flinched slightly. He definantly wasn't used to contact with people, and after years of being hunted, he wasn't used to being hit in a friendly way. And when Lionel's arm went around his shoulder, his eyes widened and his face turned a bit pink. He coughed and cleared his throat, waiting for the awkward embrace to be over. He didn't want to be rude and duck out of it. And it wasn't really bad. Aiden was just awkward and not used to this.

It was dark out in Clearwood, and the trio was in a clearing close to town. Not much was really happening, and Aiden was standing a bit behind Lionel and Trish, not wanting to be an intruder to their plans. He stood there a little sheepishly as he waited for the fireflies to come out. And then, they did. It was a sight too beautiful to describe. Aiden stood there with his mouth agape at the sight before him. He raise a hand to try and get a firefly to land on him. He failed in doing so, then Lionel stepped back and spoke to him.

"Never..." The blond whispered, still attempting to catch a firefly. He finally managed the task, then smiled at Lionel. "Look." He said softly, grabbing one of Lionel's hands and then guiding the firefly from his palm to the other male's hand. He smiled softly at the little creature, then up to the scenery, letting go of Lionel's hand. He then looked back to the scenery. He felt so... inspired.

Lionel felt Aiden’s warm hand touching his and guiding a firefly to it. A tingle was felt in the centre of Lionel’s body when Aiden did so but it soon faded when the blonde released his hand. A feeling of sadness replaced the tingle, confusing Lionel why he felt that way. He took a look at the blonde, looking at the scenery, before he also did the same, smiling slightly, ignoring the feeling he had.

Just like Aiden, Trish attempted to lay a hand on the fireflies but failed. Nevertheless, he had a relaxing time trying to do so. Trish looked at his wrist watch and noticed that a time has passed quickly.

“Lionel, Aiden” Trish called as he turned around to look at the two male “I have to go back to Feather City now”

Lionel raised his brows, a little surprised. “Going back already?”

“Yeah, I have to meet up with someone in Duskbreak bar” Trish explained

“Well, I’ll send you a text message later” Lionel told Trish with a smile and nodded

Trish smiled back and turned his head to Aiden “I’ll be seeing you again, Aiden”.

A soft glow enveloped Trish’s body, for a moment lighting up the area a little which made the firefly disoriented. He waved at the two before he and the glow disappeared into nothing.

Lionel covered his eyes from the light with one of his hand, while the other was in his pockets. When the light faded, he turned to look at Aiden, with brows rising slightly.

“What should we do next?” The half demon asked the blonde

Aiden gave a polite smile to Trish as he left. "See ya." He said softly, still feeling the gentle mood of this place. He had a very sudden itch to draw, something he was rather good at. The whole place just inspired him to no end. His hand felt like it might fall off if it did not capture this moment. When Lionel spoke to him, Aiden turned his head and stuck his hands in his pockets, rocking back on his heels. "Umm... would you happen to be able to get me a pencil and paper somehow? I mean, it's cool if you can't, I was just wondering." He said and cleared his throat a bit awkwardly.

Lionel chuckled at Aiden’s question. He thought for a few seconds, raising one of his brow, watching the scenery before raising his hand to his side and casted a dimension spell to summon three pieces of papers from his office in Gen’s Genetics. He knew placing a sigil in the shelf in his office would be of some use sooner or later. The papers flutter in Lionel’s hand. Slowly, he turned them to Aiden along with a pen that he took from the pocket of his work cloth.

“Here” He said to Aiden with a smile.

Aiden smiled gratefully and took the paper and pen. He would have preferred a pencil, be he wasn't going to complain. With that, he took the materials and sat down in his spot. He then began to sketch the scene before him, capturing the shading and lighting of the area around him. The picture was already beginning to come out excellently, already becoming mostly done with it. Art was a skill he loved. He wasn't so good at the job he had accepted earlier in the day, but art was one thing he could do right.

After a bit of drawing and sketching, glancing up at Lionel often, Aiden finished the picture at last. He smiled at his artwork and stood up, giving the paper to Lionel. "It isn't my best work, but... it's something to capture the moment." The picture was of Lionel's face from Aiden's point of view on the ground, the fireflies casting shadows and lights all over his face. Every detail of Lionel was captured in the picture, and the fireflies all around him were vividly and beautiful against the night sky in the background. Aiden shifted nervously on his feet. "What do you think?"

Lionel didn’t really concentrate while Aiden did his sketching drawings. Just as he finished one stick of cigarette, Aiden has done creating his art on the piece of paper and passed it to the half demon.

A strange feeling appeared in him when he saw Aiden’s sketch. For a moment, he eyed the drawing, smiling while doing so.

“This is… really good. You are a great artist” Lionel complimented Aiden and his drawing “mind if I keep this?” He asked Aiden before teleporting the drawing to his office.

When Lionel looked around, the fireflies were decreasing in numbers. It was dawn and the sun will rise in a few moments.

“It’s almost morning. Let’s go to town, get some coffee. My treat” Lionel told Aiden smiling slightly

Aiden blushed a bit as Lionel asked to keep the drawing. "Yeah, sure. You can keep it." He said before he watched the demon teleport it to his office somehow. He was glad that Lionel liked the drawing so much. It was good to finally get some sort of appreciation, even if it wasn't generated from a job he did. When coffee was offered, he was about to decline until he heard that Lionel would pay. "Uh, sure... but I'll pay you back for it some other time. I promise." Aiden hated to have to rely on others, even though he often did. It made him feel like he was a beggar of some sort.

The morning of the town of Tutelia was quite silent except for the sound of birds chirping and rustling of leaves of the trees. It was common for shops to open for twenty four hours in Daughtris as the time of wake varies between creatures. For Lionel, day or night, it didn’t really matter. He doesn’t sleep much but he does when he needs to.

The waiter of a local coffee shop in one of the tree building has just placed two cups of coffee on the table that was placed outside. Milk and sugar were already prepared in the middle of the table for the coffee. Sitting across to each other on the table was Aiden and Lionel.

Lionel put a lump of sugar in his cup of coffee before picking up his cup and sipped it while his eyes were watching Aiden, treating himself of the guy’s smooth good looking features. The sun’s rays were reflected from his blonde hair and his mocha brown eyes were beautiful. A second later, Lionel slowly placed the cup of coffee back on the table. One of his hands was still holding the cup while the other was rubbing his chin.

“I was wondering, Aiden” Lionel said smiling slightly to comfort Aiden. He then questioned “are you currently seeing anyone? Girlfriend? Boyfriend?”

Aiden had poured sugar and milk into his coffee until it was as light and sweet as he could get it. He enjoyed his coffee that way. And being that he was thirsty, he finished it rather quickly and found himself staring out the window, effectively zoning out. He wasn't thinking about anything in particular, he was just thinking, letting his mind wander. The sun felt nice on his skin, though the way it was getting in his eyes was a bit annoying. But he could deal with it. He absent mindedly started biting his lower lip, something he did often and resulted in some small cuts on his lip that he hardly even noticed.

He was jolted out of his thoughts when his counterpart spoke to him. He turned his head and looked at him, only to blush deeply and avert his eyes. "Uh, no. I'm not dating anyone." His leg started bouncing in a nervous habit that he had, and he started to clean under his fingernails so he had something else to focus on. "You?" He asked after a bit of hesitation.

Lionel laughed slightly when he noticed Aiden getting nervous.

"Why are you so nervous?" Lionel questioned while leaning ahead, looking Aiden in the eyes.

More and more, Lionel was pulled into Aiden's look and personality. The beating of his heart slowed down for a second. Lionel had to take a deep breath to relax his self.

“I am too, just like you, currently single" He told Aiden with a smile, leaning back to his chair.

For a moment, Lionel was silent. He raised his coffee to his lips and took a sip before placing it back on the table, taking his time to get to know Aiden.

"How come a good looking man like you is still single? What brings you to this small town of Tutelia anyways?" He asked Lionel with a smile.

Aiden laughed a bit as well, a nervous sound again. "I don't know, I'm just not used to talking to people. I guess that's why I'm nervous." He said in reply to the demon sitting across from him. The next couple of questions, however, brought a dark look to his face and he stared at the table. "I am here because the sheriff asked me to do a job. I don't have a steady job and I'm actually pretty poor. As in, if I don't somehow get paid, I'm not going to have the gas to ride back home." He paused and took a deep breath, letting it out as a sigh. "And why am I single?.. Well, when people find out I'm a werewolf, they suddenly become quite frightened of me. They think I'll lose it one day and kill them." He put his head down on the table. "And the fact of the matter is, I could..." he said quietly.

“You’re a werewolf?” Lionel asked in amazement. “Well you won’t see me running away from you” He told Aiden before pushing his cup of coffee to the side and placed his arm on the table, leaning closer to Aiden.“So what kind of werewolf are you? Do you change fully or just semi-change? According to the moon or on will?” He questioned with a flirty tone and a grin, revealing his pearly whites.
