Daughtris

Ella was barely breathing after the whole day. After years of wandering around the streets, parks and forests, she forgot what stress was. She remembered the feeling of constantly being in rush for something in the hard way. Her face was soaked in sweat, her hair had resemblance with a tornado. She took her last effort for nodding and smiling while Shin Hyuk Ji was congratulating her and Rosaria. She felt happy and awarded after the 100 bucks, but the exhaustion didn't go away.

“Any one of you wants to work full-time in Duskbreak? I could use some help handling this bar.” Her head got so dizzy after this offer, she put her covered in scars hand on Rosaria's shoulder for balance. "Thank you, but I have another job." she muttered. Ella took her hand off Rose's shoulder and looked at Trish right into his eyes. It seemed like they were saying 'Even if I hadn't... never... again!'

"I'm don't chase after every hunter, in case you have forgotten I hunt. What upsets me is when someone puts an animal through unjust pain and suffering just for sport." Alica explained. "I would like to meet him in person, so you can give me his number or have him call me, thank you Toko." Alica continued.
All of her attention was currently on Toko. On the outside she seemed to have forgotten what the reaper had said but that was not the case. She would simply deal with one thing at a time. For now the more important problem was dealing with the person who had sadistically killed this beautiful creature.
"Go on call your people, after seeing how the poor beast was killed I don't want to collect anything from it. The dragon deserved better." Alica said.

Derek was further amused by the girl in front of him. He began to walk in a circle around her. "Ah, and you claim to know what people and creatures deserve? You have the right to deem some worthy of one thing while others aren't? You are quite rude to me, and intends on being rude to the man, all for a dragon of which you never saw the life span of. You, nor I, know what this dragon deserves, nor what that boy deserves. You obviously do not know him at all, and therefore, how do you know he deserves to be treated with such disrespect, to be yelled at for a task that is, quite frankly, none of your business? For all you know, this boy couldn't he suicidal and your yelling g could push him over the edge." Derek stopped and flashed his white teeth in a wide grin. "My, wouldn't that be a turn of events?" He said and gave an empty chuckle. "Do you not think of anything but your strong beliefs? Do you let your thoughts cloud rationality?" Derek paused a moment, thoughtfully. "My, it must be such a bother to harbor emotions. Always going from one end to another, letting the emotions cloud rational thought process." Derek turned to Toko. "Oh,I do hope you'll give her the boy's number. I wish to be around when all of this ensues."

Aiden had poured sugar and milk into his coffee until it was as light and sweet as he could get it. He enjoyed his coffee that way. And being that he was thirsty, he finished it rather quickly and found himself staring out the window, effectively zoning out. He wasn't thinking about anything in particular, he was just thinking, letting his mind wander. The sun felt nice on his skin, though the way it was getting in his eyes was a bit annoying. But he could deal with it. He absent mindedly started biting his lower lip, something he did often and resulted in some small cuts on his lip that he hardly even noticed.

He was jolted out of his thoughts when his counterpart spoke to him. He turned his head and looked at him, only to blush deeply and avert his eyes. "Uh, no. I'm not dating anyone." His leg started bouncing in a nervous habit that he had, and he started to clean under his fingernails so he had something else to focus on. "You?" He asked after a bit of hesitation.

The black-haired woman settled her hand on Rose's shoulder. She declined. It took a moment for Rose to comprehend over the buzzing in her ear. "A...a job? You mean permanent?" Rose looked at the money in her hands and set it on the nearest flat surface. "I live in Afukira. I wouldn't know what to do with the house." A house, that's what she called it. She chuckled indeed. Plus, she wasn't up-to-date on any of the sports or technology really. And what would she do with Gerune? "I mean...do you guys have stables here in this town?"
Then again, she wouldn't want to put the poor horse in a stables, she'd want him free as he wanted to be. Yet...this would be a form of money. She knew she needed it.

"I don't claim to know who deserves what and when. But tell me what animal should be brutally tormented before it is killed? Though you are right in the way that I never knew this animal but I do not let my beliefs cloud my judgment at all. I think before I speak and before I act. I use rational thought and fair judgment. So sir you are being quite rude as well as making assumptions where you have but little to no room to say anything about me and my choices. You might be well spoken yes, but the undertone of your words are asking for you to be slapped. If I may inform you." Alica said with a sickeningly sweet smile plastered on her face.
"I won't cause the werewolf harm and if he is suicidal I won't let him take his own life whilst I am with him.
Also who says you will be around to see what unfolds when I speak to him?" Alica retorted, ready to land her fist right on that pretty mouthed, smooth talking, rude face of his. Though if she did Toko would have to arrest her which she didn't have to time for today. Unfortunately the reaper seemed to have a knack for pushing her buttons.
"There is only one thing that you have said that I agree with." Alica said moving to face Toko and get the reaper a step farther away for her person. "Simply give me his number. I'll call him and tell him what I think, then let him have his say and I'm sure that is where it will end Toko. So tell me what the digits are and let this all be over." Alica said. If Toko danced around this again she might just have to swipe his phone to get it herself.

As Alica thought, Toko did dance on making his decision for a while before responding.

“How about we just let it end here for now. No need to call anyone” He suggested and continued before Alica could disagree “I’ll be heading back now, if you don’t mind. I’ll be seeing you around, Mr. Derek”

Quickly, Toko spat a ball of fire to a nearby tree, branding it with a teleportation sigil so that later, he could teleport back there easy. Then, he casted a semi-transparent red barrier around the dead dragon to prevent any creature from disturbing it before teleporting away, leaving Alica behind alone with the angel reaper.

The sky was getting bright. The sun is rising.

Lionel laughed slightly when he noticed Aiden getting nervous.

"Why are you so nervous?" Lionel questioned while leaning ahead, looking Aiden in the eyes.

More and more, Lionel was pulled into Aiden's look and personality. The beating of his heart slowed down for a second. Lionel had to take a deep breath to relax his self.

“I am too, just like you, currently single" He told Aiden with a smile, leaning back to his chair.

For a moment, Lionel was silent. He raised his coffee to his lips and took a sip before placing it back on the table, taking his time to get to know Aiden.

"How come a good looking man like you is still single? What brings you to this small town of Tutelia anyways?" He asked Lionel with a smile.

Alica had guessed what Toko was going to do but she didn't have time to get his phone and he left so quickly even if she had swiped it she wouldn't have been able to get the number and put his phone back. And the reaper had barely taken his eyes off her since he called her rude.

"Well that's just grand!" Alica exclaimed. She wanted to wring his neck.
"Why are you still even here? Don't you have other souls to collect?" Alica said not kindly turning to face the reaper.

Trish chuckled when he saw how messy Ella looked. She hasn’t responded to his invitation to grab something to eat together so he decided to wait.

“Aw… I’m hungry” He muttered, grabbing some peanuts that were placed in a small place on the counter and eating them one by one.



“Alright” Hyuk Ji responded to the black haired woman

He turned to the blonde

“A stable? For your horse that was outside earlier?” Hyuk Ji asked with a smile. “I noticed you ravelling the ropes through the window” He explained and continued “I have a spare room behind the bar. I’ll let you stay there if you work here. It is quite a big room. The horse can stay inside with you, supplied that it is trained” He told the blonde with a smile.

Both of Hyuk Ji’s brow rose “I just remembered, I haven’t introduced myself” He muttered “my name is Shin Hyuk Ji” He told the two “just call me Hyuk Ji”

Aiden laughed a bit as well, a nervous sound again. "I don't know, I'm just not used to talking to people. I guess that's why I'm nervous." He said in reply to the demon sitting across from him. The next couple of questions, however, brought a dark look to his face and he stared at the table. "I am here because the sheriff asked me to do a job. I don't have a steady job and I'm actually pretty poor. As in, if I don't somehow get paid, I'm not going to have the gas to ride back home." He paused and took a deep breath, letting it out as a sigh. "And why am I single?.. Well, when people find out I'm a werewolf, they suddenly become quite frightened of me. They think I'll lose it one day and kill them." He put his head down on the table. "And the fact of the matter is, I could..." he said quietly.

Derek chuckled at the girl who seemed to be part elf. "An angry one, are we? I seem to just frustrate you to no end." He chuckled once more. "Well, to answer all of your questions, even the ones that I didn't get the chance t answer when they were asked." Derek took a deep breath and began to speak in a slightly rushed tone. "I believe you would say that a serial murderer would deserve to be tortured. Someone who tortured others. I believe it's call karma, dharma, the threefolds law, golden rule, whatever your religion entails. Is this not true?" He paused for a moment and gave a wicked grin, then disappeared in a puff of black smoke, only to appear directly behind Alica again and whispered in her ear. "This is how I intend to be there when everything unfolds." He leaned away from her and took a step back once more to get in a distance that was more comfortable. "And at the moment, no. While people do die every second, there are many other reapers, not to mention the Grim Reaper himself, and there is also the angel Ezekiel, whenever he wishes to get off of his lazy backside. Therefore, we reapers do not have to be collecting souls every second of every day."

Alica was about to reply when the reaper suddenly disappeared. "The sel-" Suddenly he was right behind her, if she had leaned back in the slightest she would have been up against his chest. It took all of her self-control not to jam her elbow into his ribs. But in the second he was there she caught a whiff of him, he smelled of death but under that he seemed to smell like soap. Not really what she was expecting from the reaper. Death, yes, soap, not what anyone would think. Then he stepped back and she whipped around to face him. "I won't deny it you do frustrate me but when I said who deserves to be tortured before death I asked about animals not people. As to you not having to work every second that is rather unfortunate." Alica replied hoping to tick the reaper off so he would stop trying to twist her words.

Derek leaned against a tree in a casual manner and he gave a slight smirk. "And you argue that humans are not animals? Even though it has been proven to be scientifically true? I don't think you to be that religious. Though, I could be wrong in that assumption." Derek whirled his scythe in a circle in front of him, like the propellers of a helicopter. "And if I had to work every second, then you wouldn't be having such a joyous time with me." He said sarcastically. "Though, usually in my off time I work as a mechanic. Then there is the fact that I do have to take care of this body of mine. I do indulge in sleep sparingly as well, though my work usually prevents it." He whistled a bit, an oddly cheery tune to be coming from the lips of a reaper.

"What I believe in is none of your concern and I mean animals as in beasts, creatures that dont use a thought process. Or as you would put it, rational thought.
But I must say that if you did work all the time it would make my life at this moment in time much easier. As to your spare time I couldn't care less." Alica said. Now if only he would take a hint and leave. He's so rude and condescending and and- Her thoughts were interrupted as the reaper started to talk again. Oh joy!

"Hey! Don't eat too many peanuts, or you won't be hungry for... the meal we'll have together..." Ella said slightly nervously. "This time I'll treat for real... "

"Hi..." Nigel opened the bar's door without coming in. "Have you seen a furious and dangerous mechanical dog, which is ready to chew everything it sees?" Silence filled the bar. "N-no..." Ella replied. "Oh... In case you see it, get over the highest furniture or place for your own safety. And also call me on this number." Nigel said and gave everyone a visit card. "Don't attack it, because it will get worse." Afterwards he walked out of the bar.

The gorgeous man looked at the black-haired woman and chuckled. Then he announced his hunger. Rose stood back, not knowing what to say. Instead, the bartender responded to her about the stable and living area. Asking if that was her horse outside the bar, he explained how he saw her messing with the tack. Rose nodded, although technically Gerune wasn't hers. Sure, he was trained and all, responded to her call, and loved her to death, but he'd always be wild at heart.
“I have a spare room behind the bar. I’ll let you stay there if you work here. It is quite a big room. The horse can stay inside with you, supplied that it is trained” Rose truly looked at him as he smiled.
She was speechless. He had to be kidding! Rose opened her mouth to say so, but the bartender spoke again, this time to both her and the black-haired woman. “I just remembered, I haven’t introduced myself. My name is Shin Hyuk Ji. Just call me Hyuk Ji.”
Rose felt herself well up with a sort of appreciation she never had before except with her foster parents.
"Hey! Don't eat too many peanuts, or you won't be hungry for... the meal we'll have together..." The black-haired woman said the the man beside her. "This time I'll treat for real... "
Rose smiled. This is how normal people with normal love lives acted. It wasn't preposterously flaunting what one has or sucking life from another. It was amusing, sweet, fun, and kind. Rose wanted it.
From the other side of the bar, a man opened the door, as if to peer in. "Hi...Have you seen a furious and dangerous mechanical dog, which is ready to chew everything it sees?"
The black-haired lady managed to stutter a "no." Ella! Rose suddenly remembered her introducing herself customer upon customer. The others didn't really say anything and the man continued. "Oh... In case you see it, get over the highest furniture or place for your own safety. And also call me on this number." The man stepped in quickly and gave everyone a card. He turned to walk out, but only left after saying, "Don't attack it, because it will get worse."
Rose caught Hyuk Ji's eye and exchanged a weary look. Was life always like this?

Derek stood straight and looked the girl in the eye with a completely serious face. "Now, I know for a fact that these 'beasts' as you call them are capable of rational thought. Maybe they are more tinged with instinct than ours, but then again, isn't what drives all of our thoughts based on survival of the individual and survival of the race? I hear the last thoughts of each and every dying thing." He pointed to the dragon, raising his voice. "That creature was in no pain. The only thing it suffered from was the blood lust that it was captured by. It's last thoughts were of toying with the hunter before he killed him. So do not tell me, a reaper who hears the last thoughts of every creature that dies, that 'beasts' are incapable of rational thought." While he was not angry, he felt determined to open this girl's eyes. He was not sure what drove him to do so, but he felt a justice needed to be payed to all the creatures she had just pretty much insulted in his mind. Each creatures suffering that he had to go through. He remembered that in the beginning it was agony. It tore him apart to his very core until he couldn't feel no more. And then there would be that special person every few millennia that made him feel again. This was both the best and worst times of his life. Then, since they were mortal, he had to eventually collect their souls and each time it happened it cut deeper and deeper and then he would lapse into the sanctuary of numbness.

Alica flinched inwardly at his anger. On the outside she was calm but his intensity, anger and, the power that surrounded him surprised her. But when she saw the pain in his eyes she saw him as more then a reaper, he had emotions and he had a heart, he just tried to push all of it away because of the anguish his daily life contained.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know. I've never heard an animal's last thoughts. Or anyone's last thoughts for that matter." Alica said taking a step closer to him. She couldn't think of him as 'the reaper' anymore. He was more then that now, he knew and believed in something just as strongly as she did. Alica was starting to gain some respect for him, for Derek.

“Oh were going?” Trish questioned Ella and explained to her “I thought you didn’t want to go”

Trish got off his seat and took out his wallet from the pockets in the back of his pants, taking a few bucks from it and handed it to Hyuk Ji to pay for his iced lime vodka. The bartender took the cash from Trish, smiled and nodded. “Thank you”.

When Rosaria did not answer Hyuk Ji's proposal, Hyuk Ji’s brows furrowed in wonder, eyes carefully watching at her, noticing she was smiling, looking around then to Trish and Ella. Suddenly, every attention was turned to the front entrance of the bar which swung open, bells on top jingled furiously. A brown wavy haired young man was standing under the door.

"Have you seen a furious and dangerous mechanical dog, which is ready to chew everything it sees?"

“N-no…” Ella stuttered and answers, representing everyone in the bar.

Hyuk Ji just shrugged and turned his attention back to the blonde, ignoring everything else that the man said.

“Your name is Rosalia, right?” Hyuk Ji questioned Rosa and explained “I heard both you and Ella introducing each other” He smiled

While waiting for a respond, Hyuk Ji looked at Rosa and noticed she was wearing a weary expression on her face.

“Are you okay?” He asked her, placing a hand beside her arm and guiding her to sit on the stool, worried if she was too tired from work.

Trish did not notice Hyuk Ji and Rosa’s activity as his attention was at Ella. “Shall we go then?” He asked

“You’re a werewolf?” Lionel asked in amazement. “Well you won’t see me running away from you” He told Aiden before pushing his cup of coffee to the side and placed his arm on the table, leaning closer to Aiden.“So what kind of werewolf are you? Do you change fully or just semi-change? According to the moon or on will?” He questioned with a flirty tone and a grin, revealing his pearly whites.

Derek was taken slightly aback when he saw the attitude of the girl completely change, then she took a step toward him. He took a step back, throwing his walls back up. He would not allow himself to be that way again. He would not be clouded by emotions once again only to have him hurt further. "Yes, well, it is only the reaper's job to do such things. Really, it is just a mere drawback if the scythe itself. But we reapers were created for this simple purpose, and it is the only thing we are around for." Derek kept telling himself that in his head. He was only here on this mundane world to collect souls, and nothing more.

Aiden relaxed in his chair, able to breath a sigh of relief. "Well... I'm sort of a mixture. I transform into a full wolf, but I can control it at will. Except when I become extremely angry, I can lose control of it. And the full moon is the one night that I absolutely cannot control it. It makes life pretty hectic, I tend to take the day off when I know a full moon is coming." Aiden from a bit and looked out the window, troubled. "I almost changed in front of Toko and ripped his little throat out... I'm honestly not safe to be around." He said, a pained look coming into his eyes.

Alica saw Derek change from frustrating and slightly friendly to standoffish and weary. She wondered what he was thinking. She hoped he didn't think she was coming onto him, she was not very good with people in general and even worse when dealing with men individually. When she took a step forward he stepped back. Alica stuck out her hand. "I'm sorry, as I'm sure you've guessed I don't really have great people skills." Alica said still offering her hand.

"We go then shall... I mean... we shall... never mind, let's go!" Ella mixed the words. It seemed like this day was way too rough for her. She will get used to it, but it will be a slow process.

"I hope we won't see the mechanical dog... Hey, I have walked pass a place around here... maybe we should go there! Wait... no..." she said after looking at it more carefully. "It's a video store... So else will somewhere..." The embarrassment hit her again. It was not only because for the first time she would eat with another man besides her father. All day long she has been acting like an awkward fool in front of the angel. She wanted this to stop already and have a normal conversation like a normal being.
