A good guy at heart, with a dark side that can't be stifled. Has always been too charming, shows too many teeth when he smiles. It isn't all fake, but it isn't all real either. Can't really pin down when he's being serious, because half the time even he doesn't know. Lying is ingrained, but he doesn't do it often. His honesty is really what makes him. Seeing him with a truth on his tongue is outright impossible, but stick around long enough to decipher his indirect way of speaking and you'll find that he lies a hell of a lot less than some people think.

He's got a way of being too grandiose. Socially, he's the kind of guy who finds small circles too constricting. Always making friends where he can, too damn nice for his own good. Especially with the kind of people he surrounds himself. Sure, his enthusiasm is faked at times. But most of the time its as genuine as his need to recklessly go after the first scrap of adrenaline he can find.

Growing up in the Graeve house may not have been fun but it wasn't exactly the worst either. Taught him how to be an adventurer, explorer, bloody kneed hooligan, a penchant for disaster; Bundled up in the frayed squares of a psychological quilt. Spent days and nights crawlin’ through wood, and o’er field and plain with little brother Levi at his side. Real messy kids they were back then. And sure didn’t have the self-preservation instincts that he does now. At the time, it was mud and gravel in the cracks of freshly bleeding wounds. Fights with Levi and mom cooking up whatever animals her boys brought home from the hunt. Their daddy took em out often as he could, showed 'em the ropes of taking life. Always tried to get Becker interested, taught him the beauty of it, but all he ever saw was the ugly truth. Still has a hard time choking down meat these days because of it.

Besides, they had been given false freedoms aplenty. Allowed to roam but when home always to do for themselves, never ask for help, never assume you'll get help. If something needed done they better have done it themselves otherwise a hard lesson in labor was forthcoming. Their father valued hard work, and put them to fixing up the place whenever they spent even a breath on the idea of being bored.

Becker, being more his mothers son had never wanted to work or hunt like his father and brother. Had wanted to lose himself in the world of books - ones his mother usually had to sneak to him in order to avoid his fathers lecturing. Tried his best to always find time to study his schoolwork and pushed himself to be the very best in his class all the way through highschool.

They grew up rough and tumble, but it never sunk in just how rough till Becker came of age and could be out in the big wide world on his own.

Ronin Graeve was a harsh man with a heavy hand and too much pride to see how badly he had fucked up his children. Made them run in one of two directions - in Beckers case, it was away from the madness, and for Levi, it was towards. Last time he saw his little brother wasn't too long before things went to shit. He'd just gotten his 90 day token from NA; it didn't really mean much. Becker had been working on a new building, something contracted by an eclectic millionaire. All modern angles and tight edges. But Becker hadn't always been into architecture, had once pursued a law degree much to his mother's delight and fathers chagrin. But it had put a strain on him and after only two years he dropped out, sold all his worldly posessions, and moved across the united states to pursue a career in architecture.
