"Everyone is gone." Chase faintly muttered in reply. "Soren, the Bikeboy, Alex, they packed their stuff and just... left."
Daniel stood in wistful silence, contemplating the significance of the recent desertion as he looked at the horizon abundantly punctuated by towering pine trees gathered here and there.
"As long as they didn't take any of our supplies," Winters replied hopefully, "We should be okay, right? Besides, look at how many people we've got here, now. We'll have the fence patched up in no time. Hell, maybe we'll even get around to strengthening it! It'd be good to make sure nothing like this ever happens again."
After he began discussing future prospects for the barn, Daniel felt motivated to continue to dwell on other hopeful ideas. He placed his assault rifle upright against the porch of the house and went to kneel down beside Chassie.
"After a while, we might even be able to go on co-ordinated scavenging runs - not just into Durango, but maybe other towns, too. We could even check out Denver, if we're ready for it. That is, after we see if it's safe from batshit crazy bandits like the ones that put a hole through my fence in the first place. I just hope these folks stay."
Before continuing his imaginary checklist, he stopped himself and considered a fundamental possibility that could hinder his visions. "Say, what do you think of these new people?"

((I personally dislike the idea of the current weather. One roleplay day is sometimes even a week in some. If we stuck to the current weather, the climate would be bipolar xD))

Daniel finished his brief explanation and ideas toward Chassie, one knee in the scattered gravel as he knelt next to her. "Say, what do you think of these new people?" He asked after a moment of silence, looking back at her. Chassie shifted her legs, crossing them under one another. "Their a happy group of folks. They seem hardly effected by what the world's become- and well off too." She looked back at Daniel, smiling reassuringly. "I trust them, they did take care of those two bandits from what I saw." By this remark, it was made clear that Chassie was not aware of the girl's mysterious escape into the woods. "Extra hands are always good, you might even get a bigger, greater garden started with their help!" She grinned as she pointed back toward the line of deteriorating zombie corpses that lined the gardens, clearly used to fertilize the land. "Clever idea, using the dead to restore other life."

"Well since its getting late and there is a storm off in the distance," One of the dark-haired survivors said after limping over shortly after their discussion. "I say for the night we can just block the gate with the cargo truck. It's tall enough so the walkers should have trouble piling up and getting over. We can make a more permanent solution tomorrow once we have more daylight." Chassie looked to Daniel for an answer, as this was his home after all. "Sound good to you?"
"I could assign rooms if you'd like." Chassie kindly offered. "Now that the others are gone, there's loads more space." She braced herself to stand up, one hand supporting her weight in a ready position.

"Extra hands are always good, you might even get a bigger, greater garden started with their help!" Chase suggested, grinning as she pointed back toward the line of decaying corpses that lined the furrowed fields unaffected by the overgrowing wheat crops. "Clever idea, using the dead to restore other life."
"It's one thing fertilising the field," Daniel replied, standing back on his feet to greet the approaching John. "Growing the crops is a whole new idea to me - wouldn't even know where to begin. But hey, maybe this new group'll have someone with farming experience."

After John had pitched his idea to the two, Daniel nodded firmly in agreement. He took note of this man's pragmatism and sense of responsibility, assuming that he was the leader of this community of survivors. "Sounds good to me. Tonight, I'll make us some dinner and we can draw some more plans. I hope you guys are hungry--I mean, uh, just 'cause I'm looking forward to helping out. Right now, some of the guys I've seen wandering around the farm look like they're hanging by their weakest threads."

"I could assign rooms if you'd like." Chase kindly offered. "Now that the others are gone, there's loads more space."
"There's only five rooms I'd like for people to be set up in; I'm alright with 'em anywhere in the house except my room and the basement," Daniel quickly replied. "You got it?"

"There's only five rooms I'd like for people to be set up in; I'm alright with 'em anywhere in the house except my room and the basement," Daniel quickly replied. "You got it?" Chassie lifted herself up from her seated position, dipping her head before looking back to John. "Do you think you get everyone who's not inside to meet up in the house for me?" She asked him before walking into the house.

Eventually the living quarters was filled with several survivors, Chassie preforming a silent head-count in the middle of the room. Twelve people when she included herself, and Daniel wouldn't need to be assigned anything as he stated earlier that no one would be located to his personal quarters. "Alright!" Chassie exclaimed as she clapped her hands together. "We got six girls and six guys with only five rooms available." After a moment of thoughtful silence, her hands clapped down on her waist and a smile touched her lips. "Alright. So, as I am unaware of how well acquainted everyone in the group is, please feel free to form groups of three with who you'd prefer. There will be one group with only two people, they'll get the smallest room. Who gets the bed or whatever- that's up to your group to decide."
- - - - -
After the groups finished assembling, Chassie motioned to the kitchen with one hand. "Daniel will be preparing dinner. In the mean-time you can gather your stuff and I'll show everyone to your rooms." A second went by before Chassie realized her lack of introduction. "Oh- and my name's Chassie, by the way."

((Sorry if it's a mess. xD))

((OOC: Finally my turn to reply. I think I'm all caught up.))

Luna:
She leaned up against the wall by herself as Chassie instructed the sleeping arrangements. Her fingers twitched with irritation, not at Chase of course, but at her own group. They seemed to easily take advantage of people who helped them. They'd even taken advantage of her. She didn't mind helping them medical wise and sometimes it even calmed her down, but lately it seemed as if they just expected her to help. Even John. She ducked her head and furrowed her brow. What made her realize this was when Patrick, back at the truck stop, had made that comment about her not helping him after he'd been beat up. And ever since then he'd been giving her a dirty eye and she knew he was mad she wasn't tending to his wounds, but that was why she hadn't. He'd just expected her to just be a doctor whenever he got hurt, and she wasn't going to be ordered around. He was taking advantage of her hospitality and it was pissing her off. The way he'd also snapped at Tallara had drawn the line. This teen was becoming a bit too snotty for her taste. She was going to have to speak to him later about respect.
She saw Daniel come in and then saw the smokes in his hand and needed something to calm her down.
"Can I bum a smoke?" she asked and he nodded, handing her the cigarette and lighting it.
"Sure. Not like I paid for them." he said and she smiled, sucking in a deep breath and immediately feeling calm. She hadn't been a smoker before the apocalypse, but every once in a while her and her grandmother shared a pipe when things were getting rough.
"I want to thank you again Daniel for allowing us to be here. You and Chassie both. I know it seems our group is a bit too homey already, but we're just trying to adapt quickly to changes. We haven't stayed in a place for longer than a few days and it's surreal to find this farm. We'll do all that we can to help you." she spoke quietly, not wanting to interrupt Chase.

Rose:
She stood near Kira who was holding a weakening Oswin. the girl was maybe nine or ten, only a few years younger than herself, but the way Kira was holding her was like a mother holding a sick toddler. Her skin was pale, almost completely grey white, and there were dark bruises forming under her eyes. She could already pick up Oswin was infected, even if no one had said it out right. It wouldn't be long before the girl was changed. She had no idea where Oswin had been infected, but it must have been more than a day since and she hadn't seen an infection last more than two days in a body before taking hold. She looked away not wanting to see the small girl's deteriorating body and instead saw the wild eyes of Patrick. The way his skin was flushed she knew he had recently been scared of something, but he wasn't anymore by the looks of it. However he seemed completely bothered, and in the short time she'd gotten to know him she'd seen some changes. He was angry. Even as she looked at others around the room their faces weren't as cheery as they were since she first saw them back at the military base before the old bandits came. She felt suddenly uncomfortable in a group this large and with so many faces she didn't even recognize. She hadn't even had much time to get to know the large man before John had told them of his death.
She crossed her arms over her chest and then looked down to see the Kitten snuggled at her feet. She lifted it and carried it to Patrick, hoping to bring some calmness back to him. She then thought it was silly that she, the girl who just lost a twin, was comforting another. A very faint smile touched her lips.
She listened then as Chassie gathered everyone's attention and then began to explain the sleeping arrangements. It wasn't till the older woman mentioned food that her ears perked up and her mouth watered. The last thing she had to eat were crackers from a vending machine. And since then.... who knew?

Patrick saw Rose bring the kitten to him. He had completely forgotten about it for a second and he felt bad. It could have died withh all of the monsters around. At the same time, though, it seemed strange to him that Rose would be trying to comfort him. For one thing he was happy and for another thing she needed comfort a lot more than he did. He then noticed that she had smiled. It was the first time he had seen her smile since Skylar died. He smiled back at her and took the kitten, making sure not to touch it with the part of his jacket that had been bitten. It still probably had some saliva on it. He would have gotten rid of the jacket, but it saved his life, or his arm at the very least.
"So there's still nothing you need?" he asked, not knowing what he meant exactly by need. Rose needed not to be constantly hunted by undead and she needed to have more nutritional food and you could argue that she needed her sister back.
Someone who he didn't recognize announced that the room situation and that dinner would be made. The room situation would probably just sort itself out and he would go with whoever picked him. Dinner sounded good after the last thing he had eaten was one can of fruit in the morning. He was starving in both sense of the term.

Kira:
She was contemplating what Zach had brought up earlier before Chassie had come in and spoke to them. He had told her the group was becoming to get big and that they should split up eventually.
"I think you're right, but can we at least rest for a few days? I didn't want to complain Zach, but my ribs can't take more of this. If I stress them too much I think I might do some great damage that can't be fixed... and-" she was about to say die. She didn't want to think about that. Or think about leaving any of these people behind by dying. They needed her too as she needed them. They all held each other together.
She turned away from Zach and shook her head to clear her thoughts then looked to Chassie who just finished her explanation.
"Do you and Daniel need any help with anything right now? I could maybe help with dinner." she spoke trying to offer some way to ease the burden her group might have placed on these two.

((I'm just going to have it where David already met everyone, if you don't like it I can just edit it. I just think there are a lot of people and I don't really want to write him meeting everyone. Is that ok? Also, I'm doing 3rd Person, but I'm still getting used to the change, so every once in a while i might have an error where I talk in 1st Person. Sorry.))

David:
After David had helped John and met everyone else, the group went inside the house.
"We got six girls and six guys with only five rooms available. Alright. So, as I am unaware of how well acquainted everyone in the group is, please feel free to form groups of three with who you'd prefer. There will be one group with only two people, they'll get the smallest room. Who gets the bed or whatever- that's up to your group to decide." Chassie informed where he and the group would be sleeping.
"Sounds good to me!" David approved.
"A nice place to sleep, I haven't had a place to sleep in a long time." David murmured. He saw Jake sitting on the couch as he mumbled something to himself. "You must be tired, with all of this shit happening at once. I just can't wait until dinner. I'm sorry about Jones, he must have died. Damn, and Seth too. But people die in this world, too often. Now even more in this hell." David said to Jake as he realized Hays was dozing off. David scratched his head. "Jake, wake up. We have five rooms and there are twelve people. You mind if we share a room? I don't mean it in a weird way, it's just that I would rather sleep in the same room with my friend than be in a room with a total stranger." David finished talking. He thought that the farm and the survivors made the place feel alive, a community. There were a lot of people, and David felt safe for once. Starting with Soren's house getting attacked, there was a chain reaction, Seth dying, the prison, but now David was here, in the farm, but he was extremely tired. He wanted to go to sleep after dinner.

Tallara stood idle at the stairway, her good shoulder against the wall as she partially listened to their directions. Although she understood them correctly, her mind wandered aimlessly as her grey eyes scanned the group. Once they fell upon Luna, she caught the uneasiness in her figure and the settle twitch of her fingers. She eventually made her way toward Daniel, taking a calming puff from a smoke she'd been given. She shared a brief word with him before Tallara's curiosity pulled her in. She made her way toward the door, grabbing her backpack and readjusting the medical pack in the crook of her arm before approaching Luna. Once she was done speaking, she softly spoke
"Luna, would you like to share a room? I'd also like to talk with you about some... things." She eyes flashed toward Patrick who's jacket had a suspicious, wet and foamy patch on his arm. He looked shaken as well. But no matter, those were not the matters she wished to discuss. Her eyes then returned to Luna, her head nodding upstairs. This would indicate she'd like a private discussion.

Kira:
She closed the door behind her as she left Zach to get some rest and then she felt worried for him. He really needed a break from all these undead corpses and what not. It was taking a toll on his mind. Part of her asked if maybe it was real, that ghosts were real but she just laughed nervously at that.
If they were real then why had she never seen Karen or her parents after they died? Hmm? She asked herself but then shook her head. She was thinking too much into it. She looked over to see that Luna and Tallara were still in that small room with the door closed and wondered what they were talking about, but it was none of her business.
She felt guilty then, for having been afraid of Zach. He'd protected her and Patrick as they had him and just because he had a little episode she was immediately making her distance. It was like she was back to her old self, scared of the unknown. She shook her head and was about to walk back in the room to apologize, but she realized he really did need his sleep.
She let go of the doorknob realizing she'd been gripping it and made her way down the stairs.
She decided she would help get dinner ready and confronted Chassie again.
"Need some help with dinner?" she asked again needing something to keep her mind of Zach.

((OOC: I understand now Dark. So we're pretty much looking for someone who's already on their way back and they don't know it yet XD (Kira's group) ))

Kira:
She was happy for the short distraction and she listened to David's story with an aching heart. She wished no one had to go through some of the things they've all been through, but she was glad that at least David and the other man got out ok. She didn't want to think about where Alex, a kid who was as young as their Patrick, had gone too and she also wished Soren was ok too, if she was alive at all that is.
"I didn't really mean to just storm into this man Daniel's property. But I never expected to find John, Jake, Zach, Patrick, Luna and you all here. Damn, glad to know I have some friends here. Maybe Patrick and I haven't gotten along exactly, but I hope we can make him sure I'm not a physcopath " David chuckled a little bit. "Sorry, I was speaking too long was I?" he asked.
Kira just shook her head. She understood the need to vent. Maybe it was helping him come to term with things.
"When you guys left, you, Soren, Seth, and Alex, we weren't there for long. A hoard attacked the camp site. We had to run. Zach found a train, don't ask me how, but thankfully he did. We hopped on there along with Luna and John, and some other guy that ended up leaving us. I can't remember his name. It wasn't long before we made a stop at this town. It was very... creepy. It was like something you'd see out of a movie. It was so quiet, and dead. The buildings were piles of ash except for a few the flames hadn't caught. There wasn't a soul in site. No dead bodies, not even walking corpses. Nothing. We went in search through the town for supplies and found some in one of the stores that hadn't burnt down completely. There wasn't much, but I guess it wouldn't matter since we ended up losing a lot of it later. That was where we met Tallara actually, which makes sense in some weird way. A hoard found us. They just came out of nowhere but there were a lot of runners. We had to get to the train quick. John must have left on his own because Luna went and fetched him. That was when Tallara saved them actually. They wouldn't have made it to the train without her. Thankfully we got out of there, but we did lose someone very special; Zach's dog, remember?" Kira paused then feeling a bit lost in the memory. She shook her head and continued with a glance around to make sure they weren't being followed, and also to keep and eye out for John. Jamie seemed very quite during this whole explanation of travel.
Kira continued: "We continued on with our journey, with only a few bad things on the train, for one Zach's panic attack and other things. We could have stayed on the train forever, but we had to come to a stop considering our tracks came to a sudden and deadly end. We met a young boy named Stan." her throat grew tighter then at the memory of the small child. He was so young.
"We also witnessed a city being nuked in the distance. That was when we came to understand a string of codes Zach had discovered a while back at the bunker.
We stumbled upon an army base... there was no one there... or so we thought that is. It was a trap. A group of sadistic cannibalistic Jesus freaks attacked us. We were knocked out by some kind of gas and were separated from the kids, two of them being twin girls around Patrick's age. I think you've met Rose, she was one of them.
I'm not sure of the full details of what happened with the kids, but us older people were shoved together in a dark room that smelled of mold. We were all trapped in some sort of device, well... except for Luna, but I think they just though she was too small and weak to do anything." she trailed off. She didn't want to tell David about the devices Tyler had used on them. The rib cage trap she'd been strapped in, that had slowly closed in every few minutes. Or those nasty shock ankle collars that had teeth so that if you struggled they would just dig in your skin more. So much pain. Her face grew pale at the memories and she instinctively clutched for her stomach where the pain was still fresh in her memories. And the fear for her dear friends. She didn't go into detail either about how they tricked Tyler, and how Zach put the rib cage trap, that had once been around her own ribs, around the Tyler guys head. And how it snapped closed and his head was smashed into a bloody mess.
"He threw Tallara, Luna, and John out in a pin with the undead and these hulking men, but they got out. And so did Zach and I. We found the children, along with another small girl named Oswin, chained up with treats like some sick Hansel and Grehttle story." she remembered the old couple that they ended up killing along with the henchmen.
"We killed the evil bandits. We escaped, and we grabbed a military truck and left. Before we found this farm and Daniel we made a pit stop at an Inn where Stan died from a zombie scratch and where we met that thief Sarah. We found the town nearby, met Elijah, whom is lost or dead now, and also met Daniel, who showed us to his farm. Before we came to the farm we lost Rose's twin Skylar, but we picked up Chassie and Jake. Now we're at this farm, where we lost Elijah, came into contact with more crazy bandits, had a little girl steal from us, the little girl Oswin die, and meeting up with you and Jamie, Patrick's older brother." She said with a nod. She realized then how much they'd all been through.

Luna:
She was finishing the last touches to her new satchel she'd asked Zach and the others to look for when they'd been out looking for supplies in one of nearby towns yesterday. So far it was full of just random junk they all collectively had. Once the group had brought back as much supplies as they could find they distributed it equally among the whole household, however hers was a bit more heavier with some of the medical supplies Zach had found in his so called "asylum", which they still have yet to find out where he'd gotten it all considering that place had been abandoned for a long time and crumbling. She didn't like the weird creepy dark feeling it gave off, but at the same time they really needed it. She couldn't let it go to waste when later it could possibly save someone’s life.
"Let's go you guys I'm ready to leave now! Tell David if he is coming to hurry up as well!" John's voice echoed up to the small cramped room that had been their only resting place for the last few days.
Luna sighed and brushed some kitten fur (Patricks newly acquired pet) from her newly acquired sweater. Tallara and she had found time in the past few days to finally go out in search of new clothes considering that their garments at the time had been barely a few threads held together by blood, sweat, and mud. Now she wore a thin light green scarf tying her long bangs back, a large white wool sweater for the winter and a white tank top underneath, faded flexible skinny jeans, and warm wool socks underneath her old pair of combat boots.
She looked towards Tallara whom was also getting together the last finishing touches to their things. They'd already said their goodbyes at breakfast an hour ago to everyone, but it was still a little saddening leaving them all behind. Now, though, as Luna looked towards her somewhat of a close friend she was happy with the decision of coming with her in search for her father. Even with the fact of leaving everyone else… well not maybe everyone.
Luna swung her satchel over her shoulder and took the stairs two at a time, now more eager to get a move on.
She spotted David speaking with the others and nodded her head.
“We’re leaving now. If you’re coming you need to come now.”

Kira:
Her eyes watered slightly at the sight of the little blonde woman asking David if he was coming or not to leave with them. She’d already cried enough earlier that day when everyone was saying his or her goodbyes, and she felt embarrassed at her softness. Here she was crying once again like a little baby at the site of her traveling companions leaving.
She wiped her nose with the sleeve of her newly acquired wool lined leather jacket and straightened her shoulders with a small smile.
“Bye!”
Luna smiled back and stepped forward to give her another hug, then, with a stop to ruffle Patrick’s hair, she stepped out with John outside.
They too, Kira, Zach, and anyone else coming with would also have to make their own departures, but at this moment it was Tallara’s group heading off on their own little adventure.
She almost laughed at that thought. That traveling back out in the wilderness or dense cities was some kind of exciting adventure when there was a high possibility of death.
She pulled Rose to her side and held on tightly thinking about that thought. She would have grabbed for Patrick too, but she knew he wouldn’t like her babying him. He’d scolded her yesterday for doing so, Rose did also, but not with much effort. Kira thought the girl liked being babied every once in a while. They were still young teens.
“Oh. Mr. Winters.” She said remembering they had yet to figure out if he was staying here at his farm or what.
“What are your plans? Of leaving or staying?” she asked the last part to the rest of the group that hadn’t yet fully decided with whom they were departing with or staying with.

Kira sighed when she heard the truck containing the other survivors depart and looked back at the last remaining survivors huddled in the small living room. There was of course her normal bunch of Patrick and Zach, but there was also Daniel, Chassie, Melody, Rose, and Jamie. She was trying to act cool about the whole Melody thing, but after all the stories Zach told her she felt a bit uneasy. After all it was Kira herself that was the new girl. Zach and Melody were together before, and she felt bad when she was the one sleeping next to him instead of Melody. Maybe they would all learn to live together... like a big weird family. Her, Zach, Patrick, and Melody. Of course Rose would probably be there too seeing how her and Patrick had become friends. Maybe even Jamie... she actually didn't quite know about Jamie. His clown makeup was fading and bleeding and she could almost imagine the human face underneath it, but then he would give that weird clownish smile and she would be freaked out again.
Kira had to be polite though. She had to smile and be nice... even if the person was a creepy clown or your love interests dead-non-dead girlfriend.
She was brought out of her thoughts when Zach's voice was heard softly into her ear: "Hey Kira, everything is packed up. We better get going here before too long."
She sighed once more but then squared her shoulders and nodded. She didn't know if Daniel Winters or Chassie would be coming with them, and she even didn't know about Jamie, though she would assume he would join his brother.
"Well! I guess I'll go tidy up our room and make sure we didn't leave anything." Kira said and left the others to figure out whom was coming and who was staying. She partially figured that Daniel and Chassie would want to stay back at the farm, but maybe they would want to come. Who knows.

Rose stood back against the floral wallpaper and focused on one blue flower design in particular. She was itching to get moving now and was feeling a slight loss now that Luna and Tallara had gone. She tried not to think about her sister, but it was hard. It had only been just a few days ago when Sky was alive, and now she was dead. And they would be soon departing and she would also be leaving her sister behind in the cold dirt where she was buried. She looked away and made herself busy with sharpening her knife she'd been given on a stone. The others were discussing their leaving plans, and she knew they wouldn't be asking her anytime soon for plans.
