Introduction
I believe there is a set path to life. Do you know why? I never thought I'd see you again. After what you did, I never even hoped to see you again. There you were, though... Walking by me in the street, back into my life, back into my mind. I knew you so well and now I know you entirely. Don't believe me?
I'm about to prove I know your mind completely,
So think of a number between zero and four-eighty.
Please open the other envelope
And then we'll see how well you cope
When your days are numbered - one, two, three!
How much longer will you last?
From a friend - or should that be 'enemy'?
Of course, you assume that this is just a ridiculous prank. No one you know would ever send something so strange. Did the writer of this note really presume to know what number you'd think of out of so many possibilities? You decide to test this amusing prankster's so-called 'knowledge' - the number that popped into your head? One. Nine. Eight.
You open the smaller envelope that had been tucked in with the first letter and read on...
James Lewis
198DesignStudio
Port Dundas Business Park
Glasgow
And here you thought I wouldn't get it right...
Well, my friend, the countdown starts tonight.
You have three days to solve my game
And if you get it wrong you've only yourself to blame.
Now you and I have a date,
One-nine-eight.
And that's how we'll start the roleplay - your character, be it man, woman, rich, poor, ugly or beautiful, will receive this threatening letter from an unknown sender. They don't know 'James Lewis' and have no connection to '198DesignStudio' - other than the number that they thought of.
Your Role
I'm going to give you some artistic licence here. This roleplay is going to start a little slow with the characters receiving their letters and their reactions to the correspondence. Eventually, they will all meet in Port Dundas Business Park, Glasgow. Please remember that they only have three days before their time is up, so I wouldn't have them living too far out of Glasgow otherwise they're going to run out of time before they can even investigate who is sending them these letters!
You have complete control over what your character is other than that they must be human and they must be older than twenty-five. The sender isn't going to be sending any letters to children, teenagers or alien species, so if you submit one, I'm afraid you won't be receiving a letter!
Please use realistic pictures, if any, but otherwise you can give as much information as you like. I don't see the point in forcing you to fill out information that you should be able to give during the roleplay as and when it is required. Since there will be no 'powers' in this roleplay, there won't be any worries as far as not announcing a power goes.
At the very least I'd like some basic information about your character. Here is an example of a character skeleton:

I'm afraid that, due to the first attempt at this roleplay's failure, I'm trying to be more careful about those who are accepted.
NorthernSoul: Thanks! I look forward to reading your character's profile. :)

[OOC] Dear Readers
This is, as it says in the title, the Out of Character topic for my roleplay 'Dear Readers'. Here, I'll just jot down a few of the notes I made in the roleplay's actual introduction.
First of all, I don't expect a lot from you - by that, I mean that all I want is for you to have fun whilst at the same time keeping up a standard that's good for you and adds to the roleplay. I neither want nor need tens of posts a day. I would, however, like posts that can be replied to once the character interaction begins.
Secondly... I had a list of 'rules' that were basically me telling you all to use your common sense and obey the rules of decency and kindness expected all over the site. Unfortunately, RPG decided not to add them to my roleplay and instead said I'd created no rules. I've made sure there are some rules there. Simply put, behave yourselves or you'll end up banned. Easy peasy, eh?
Finally, this is a realistic RP. I do not want angels, devils, demons, cat-people, dog-people, werewolves, vampires or aliens in this roleplay. I have nothing against those who want to play such characters - I myself have played a few of them - but this roleplay will not work if I have people pulling powers out their arses when things don't quite go their way. Do not expect happy endings for every single character in this roleplay.
That being said, thank you so much for reading this far. I hope that, if you're interested, you'll submit a character or ask any questions you may have after reading both this post and the introduction on the roleplay tab.
Thanks again,
Cloasse
