Death is a natural occurrence, an occurrence that comes with a barrage of negative emotion's. Death is something that can either be natural or artificial due to human interference. This is the year 2107 were death, is something nearly always caused by humanity. Criminals, are people who defy the laws set up by the Government's. They harm innocent people, for the sake of materialistic possession's. Around a hundred years ago a University student named Light Yagami, used a supernatural note-book to actively wipe out criminals. He went by the pseudonym Kira, a name which inspired Justice. A name which is now regarded as a myth, although some people still hope for his return. Hope isn't going to bring about change, only action can do this.

Lezune Komochi, seventeen years old. A student with excellent grades, and in all advanced classes. A student who many teachers boasted about, one completely focused on his studies. A man with intention's to change the world for the better. A man who had suffered due to criminals, a man who had grown to detest any form of crime. That exact college student was sitting down in a black fold up chair. This student was seen sitting in his room in his three story home, holding a note-book in his hands. The Words on the note-book were "Death Note". Lezune was holding a pencil in his hand and had his lap-top opened up to Yahoo.

He was looking at crime news, with a smile on his face. Get Ready World, a new age is coming.. one where crime will no longer exist. He opened up his note-book to the first page. Ten name's were written, and he looked at a page of information about the latest crime. He then began writing down the name of a man who had robbed a bank, and then he smiled. Like Queen said, another one bites the dust..

"Hiro come down stairs for breakfast" her mother called as the white blonde girl ran down stairs "Coming!" she yelled back as she skid to a stop on the linoleum floor "Morning mom Morning dad" she said smiling as she crawled up onto her chair, Yes Crawled Yes she was thirteen but she was short fro her age and often passed off as a 9 or ten year old.

"Mom can you turn on the news?" she asked while her mother turned on the TV "We now go live to our street reporter, So whats the news?" the Anchor asked the reporter "I'm here at at the federal prison where a huge string of deaths has just occurred Police are unsure of how they all died but Detectives and forensics specialists are working on deciphering what may have happened right now" The reporter said.

"Thank you Jun keep us updated, thank you for watching this is Sakura TV with the 8:00 news Tune in at 5P.M for more on the case." The news anchor said as Hiromi turned the TV off "How boring" she said nonchalantly "I bet the Tokyo Police task force already know who's committing the murders its completely obvious" she said smirking.

"Hiro stop acting so smug " her father said looking up from the news paper at his adopted daughter "You need to stop acting like you know everything" he said "Hiro, sweetie we understand you grew up solving cases like this at Wammy's house but couldn't you try acting just a little bit like a child every now and then" her mother added.

"I'm going out for a while" Hiromi said grabbing her library card off the counter and walking out.

Egide sat in his swivel chair, happily turning back and forth. He stirred his coffee idly, as he smirked at the screen on his computer.
"Glad to be of service, sir. I'm just happy we caught him. I'll follow up with my police report tomorrow, you should be able to read it within a week."
"Thank you very much. I can't express my gratitude in mere words. What reward would you like?"
"No need. Your son's safety is all the thanks I need. I won't be contacting you again though. You know the proper channels if you need me again."
With that, Egide clicked off the microphone, followed by the voice masking program, and finally the messaging software itself. He sighed, and glanced around his study. There were hardly ever any interesting cases anymore. Take this latest one for example. A simple kidnapping case. He had solved it in a day. And the motive was absolutely boring. A ransom. Weren't criminals creative anymore? What happened to the days when you had a good reason to be a criminal? And they weren't even smart. They had handwritten the note. It took only a few hours for the Genetech computers to match it up against the public databases. Honestly, he had no idea why he had even been asked for help. The police could have done the same, though maybe not as quickly. He rubbed his forehead with his thumb and forefinger, wishing for a decent intellectual challenge. He looked at his computer once more, and looked at the small W icon in the corner. Maybe somebody from that deplorable Whammy knew of some interesting cases. And dunce though he may be, the new L was usually a rather worthy opponent in virtual chess. He pulled up the program, and splashed his name across the screen, initiating contact, and waited.

That name was Eraldo Coil.

Ayama sat in the secluded darkness of her room, staring emotionlessly at the pure white paper that glowed up at her. She gripped her pen tightly in her thin fingers, eyes blurring, heart hammering wildly in her small chest. She swallowed slowly, the sound of it echoing loudly in her ears. She felt her hand tremble as she met the point of the pen to the paper, the black ink jittering with her grasp.

Calm down, you stupid girl! She rouged, mentally slapping herself for her weakness. Again, the thoughts coiled in her mind like smoke, along with the names and faces of those she planned on killing, whose existance she was going to end tonight.

Again, her hands began to tremble, violently, and she unwillingly backed away from her Death Note, closing the book quickly. The silver letter gleamed at her, like the glinting eyes of a predator. She inhaled sharply as a cool hand touched the small of her back. Rin the shinigami stared down at her with unfocused eyes, lips parted in a huge smile.

"What is the matter, my girl...?" She asked in that flat, yet amused, tone. "Are you frightened of the Death Note? Can you not kill as I thought you could?" Ayama's heart sped dangerously, her breaths coming faster.

"N-no, you stupid creature! Of course not! How silly to... even think..." Her words trailed, failing on her lips. She licked them from their wizened state and went back to her desk. She regrasped her pen and, this time, pressed the point tightly to the ghostly paper, scribbling the names of her enemies.

Once they were all recorded, she decided to watch the action.

"Rin..." She spoke blankly, reaching out for the shinigami's forearm. Rin smirked evilly, and, soon, the two were transported outside a gloomy apartment building, completely engulfed in darkness. She stalked towards the window she knew too well and parted the outside covering, gazing inside.

A girl with blonde, straight hair sat on the floor of her room, doodling on a black notepad.

Any second... She thought, eyes growing as she watched on.

The girl reached for another colored pen when, suddenly, she froze, blue eyes the size of dining plates, gazing ahead in fear. Her tiny hands flew to her breast, and, with a final twitch, she fell over on the floor, no longer moving. Ayama, purely surprised, threw the window up and propelled herself inside. She snatched the girl's wrist up and, with shaking fingers, pressed her vital veins. Nothing...

Afraid, Ayama turned and ran for the window and into the large, spidery arms of Rin.

"I-impossible...." She choked, quickly releasing the shinigami.

"Of course not, foolish girl... You witnessed it with your own arrogant eyes..." Rin's voice was cold, drained of any humor. It made Ayama's skin dance with iciness.

"R-right.. Come, let's check on the rest." And, with those words spoken, the two dissappeared into the night, the barely audible movement of feet as the girl's mother entered the room. ~

After viewing the deaths of ten of her fellow students, she sat in her room, all her thoughts buzzing. She didn't know what do to! She felt terror rise like bile in the back of her throat, making her tongue plea for something to mask the flavor. She murmured a low, "Be right back.." to Rin and went down into the kitchen. Her mother leaned over a running sink, retreiving a parring knife. She said nothing to the woman as she grabbed an apple from the counter and went back to her room where Rin was gazing at a flashing TV screen. Ayama joined her in watching.

"...Found many prisioners dead in their cells..." Ayama stared, a little suspcious. Her heartbeat flew as the possiblity of another Death Note holder zoomed into mind. She turned to face Rin, who merely smiled back at her.

"I know what you're wondering, dear child, and it's true... There are many Death Notes in this world... There is not only you..." Rin turned back to the TV, a light chortle filling the air. "It seems we have a "little god" here in Tokyo...." Ayama gazed at the shinigami, her eyes blazing.

"Explain!" She demanded, but Rin only laughed.

"All in due time, all in due time..."

Pain sat waiting in a dark, obscure room. No lights were turned on. The only thing illuminating her masked face was the flicker of a computer monitor. She scanned through case files, looking for something of her interest. Perhaps something to take her mind of the case at hand... The young blue-haired prodigy shook her head quickly. No, she had to concentrate. Even though it was potentially dangerous.

Lately, there have been discussions of increased criminal deaths in the ranks of INTERPOL. Pain already had discovered this. She had willingly taken the case, but something at her mind edged at her constantly. She needed to remember...to learn what the tip-of-her-tongue meant. When her fateful companion Whyve from Whammy's handed her another soda, she recalled it. Every L successor had a companion. Near had Roger, L had Watari. L had died from the Kira case.

That was a hundred years ago! Of course she knew it all along. The Kira that killed the original L had returned. A sharp intake of breath disturbed the silence surrounding her. She barely had time to mumble, "T-thank you, Whyve," and take her Coke when the lights changed on her computer.

Pain quickly regained her composure, hoping for the best. A virtual chess match from Eraldo Coil, she mused, typing a smalled version of the Gothic-styled L she knew so well. Maybe he'll realize what's going on...

Edige smiled as L accepted the challenge. He reactivated the various voice software, and confirmed the link. "Greetings, L. I've grown bored lately. Very few cases have drifted my way that truly tested me. I wish to challenge myself. Might you be up for a match?" He glanced at one of the many televisions scattered about the room, CNN, and widened his eyes. routing the audio to his computer's speakers, as well as transferring it to L. He assumed L could translate it, seeing as how Whammy house routinely trained the children in languages.
"In a recent turn of events, citizens are scrambling, worrying over the cause of a recent rash of deaths. It has recently come to our attention that for at least two days now, a large number of criminals in various worldwide prisons have been dying suddenly. The part of this that has the world distrubed is the manner in which they have died. Over two hundred deaths in only a few days. The deaths have been focused here in America and Japan, but many are dying in Europe as well. Back to the newsroom."
Egide muted the television once more, and looked back at his computer screen. "Well, well. This is interesting indeed. With your access to the police, I assume you know of this, L? Anything come up yet to explain what's going on? Oh, and knight to c6." He leaned back, and calmly waited for L to respond.

Lezune was still sitting in his spinning chair, his laptop lay on his desk, on Yahoo it was opened to up an article about the supposed return of Kira, and how many people where glad..that the so called supernaturally powered Vigilante was back to stop criminals. On TV, the news was pretty much all about the most popular subject at the moment Kira. Lezune smirked, watching the television. "We'll I'm making an impact on the world, although there are people who don't like me. I wonder if I should kill them..." Naah that would make Kira seem like a spoiled child, who terminates anyone who disagrees with him. I need to keep up a good image, if I want to run the New World.

He held the same number 2 pencil in his hand, as he continued to watch the news. Currently he was killing Criminals in America, Japan, and some major European Countries such as Britain, and France..he hadn't focused on wiping off crime from every little speck of dust. He reached into his pocket as his cell phone began to buzz.

"Hello?"

"Lezy-san how are you doing? Are you okay? Is the business going"

"Mom I'm fine, the business is going good, I'm in the apartment though, I left the Office a few hours ago. Anyway I need to do something, I'll call you back later"

Lezune hung up, sliding the phone back into his right pocket. At this point a winged creature with dark yellow eyes, and grayish skin entered the building. The Tall ominous figure landed only a few feet away from Lezune, the new "kira". Lezune didn't even budge. "Ah Sacho you've returned" The Creature chuckled "You humans never cease to amaze me, no wonder Ryuk spent so many years down in this realm, that, and the apple's" Lezune walked over to the mini fridge situated on his dresser, next to his microwave. He reached into the fridge, and pulled out an apple, tossing it to Sacho. The creature grabbed it, and took a beat.

"Delicious! How are the killings going?"

"Good, I've killed over 200 people in just two days, It's amazing how much I've changed the world"

Sitting in the Local Library Young Hiro read through past Files about the criminal known world wide as Kira the original Kira had been no more than A bored college student who infiltrated The Task force and killed L due to a childish need fro victory and not wanting to be caught in the act, but him aside there were multiple other Kira's there was Misa Amane a ditzy blond actress/Movie star who had gotten involved with the Death note by sheer Accident and soon fell in love with Light yagami and claimed he was her savior due to the fact that he killed her parents murderer.

"Why do these records not say how the Death note can kill people?" She asked looking up more info.

reading further into the old task force investigation notes she come to know that there weer a total of Six kiras When this problem had come to a close "So lets see what links these six together besides a note book that can kill people simply by writing a name."

Light Yagami - Known simply as Kira, Light was the first human to use a Death Note and holds the title of the First Kira. As such, he was the smartest and most committed to his goals in becoming "God of the New World". L was naturally Light's enemy, opposing his judgment of criminals. Light held the title Kira the longest, avoiding capture better than any other Kira. Even after joining the Kira Task Force, being imprisoned for 50 days and even losing (and later regaining) his memories of the Death Note, Light was still able to evade capture. After L Lawliet died, Light assumed the title "L", becoming virtually invincible for three years. Then, when Near and Mello came onto the scene, their combined effort was enough to expose Light as Kira. Light seemingly lost his sanity after Near told him he "lost", having to be shot several times by Matsuda. Light's name was then written in his Death Note by his Shinigami, Ryuk, and he died of a heart attack.

Writing down the information she moved onto the next paragraph

Misa Amane - referred to as the Second Kira. As her name implies, Misa was the second human to use a Death Note. Misa obtained her Death Note from the Shinigami Rem. Misa was initially an extreme Kira supporter, due to the fact that Kira passed judgment on a man who murdered her parents. Although she remains committed to the original Kira's goal, her devotion largely subsides in favor of simply helping try to achieve it by extension to her love of Light Yagami. As such, and because she is simply far less intelligent, Misa begins to follow Light's orders after she reveals her identity to him. All in all, she was merely a tool to Light, losing her memory and making Kira's judgments many different times to draw suspicion away from Light. She was aware of all of this, yet she did not care because Light was, according to her, a 'knight in shining armor'. Misa was the only living Kira after Light's death. She had relinquished her memories of the Death Notes shortly before Light died, and since the SPK was now in possession of both Notes, there was no way for her to ever regain her memories. Therefore, she was no longer Kira at all. Misa mourned Light's death for the rest of her life. In the manga, she commits suicide one year later, on Valentine's Day. At the anime's finale, Misa appears standing outside the safety rail on the edge of a skyscraper looking into the sunset dressed in Gothic Lolita clothing (which incidentally happens to be the same one from episode 25 which leads the viewers to wonder whether this had been a future reference), about to jump to her death.

Kyosuke Higuchi - Called the Third Kira or the Yotsuba Kira, Kyosuke is an executive of Yotsuba Corporations and the only person to hold the title of Kira who is in no way connected to the original Kira, Light Yagami. He obtained a Death Note from Rem after Light and Misa relinquished their Death Notes and their memories to avoid conviction. He only judged criminals for a short time, until Light and Misa were freed from imprisonment, He then used the Death Note for selfish reasons such as promotion and furthering the business of Yotsuda. He was caught shortly after, his identity uncovered by Misa Amane. After he was arrested, his Death Note was given to Light, which gave Light his memories back, and Light killed Kyosuke before he was even put in a police car. It is heavily implied that Kyosuke was not even aware of the original Kira's goal.

Teru Mikami - The Fourth Kira, or X-Kira (what Near calls him) is Teru Mikami. Mikami has always had a strong sense of justice and is the most understanding and committed to Kira's goal, second only to Light. Mikami recieved the Death Note from Light. After suspicion of Misa rose again, Light gave Mikami the Death through Kiyomi. Mikami carried out Lights orders as perfect as possible. Mikami worshipped Kira even more than Misa, being the only person to address Light as "God". He was willing to be the scapegoat for Light and Kiyomi, carrying out judgments in a fake Death Note to keep suspicion away from Kiyomi, who was the one actually carrying out judgements. Despite this devotion, it was a mistake made by Mikami that exposed Light as Kira. Mikami stabbed himself in the torso with his pen and bled to death, though it is unclear whether he did so deliberately or out of desperation (in contrast to the manga, in which he mysteriously died in prison ten days after Light's defeat).

Kiyomi Takada - The Fifth Kira, Kiyomi Takada, never actually touched a whole Death Note, but instead was regularly given pages torn out of Mikami's Note. She never had ownership, and was never possessed by any Shinigami. While Mikami was using a fake Death Note to keep the SPK and the Kira Task Force busy, Kiyomi is using the torn pages to carry out real judgments. But ultimately, after she is kidnapped by Mello, Light didn't want her to be caught with the pages or try to explain Mello's sudden death, so Light killed her by having her set herself on fire, thus destroying the pages and killing her. Unlike Misa, Kiyomi is very smart, despite the fact that she never had the chance to apply her intelligance to Kira's cause. Also dissimilar to Misa, who was purely used by Light to further his ambition, Kiyomi was quite relucant to join Light, having to be offered the position of "Goddess Of the New World".

C-Kira - C-Kira or Cheap Kira as Near nicknames them is the sixth Kira, who appears 3 years after Light's death. He (is refered to as a man) is never identified and kills only the elderly in a twisted form of euthanasia. C-Kira possesses the shinigami eyes, as demonstrated when he killed the Kira worshipers who begged for death during a tv interview. This attracted the attention of Near who speaks to the world as L and declared he had no interest in C-Kira and called him An Abominable Murderer. Subsequently C-Kira entered a 3 day depression and then wrote his own name in the Death Note apparently consumed by guilt having made a "squeal". To put it simply C-Kira was too weak.

Shutting the file folder she sighed leaning back in the chair "The only thing similar with these six people is that they were all fucked up in the head"

Z was bored. Very, very bored. When you had no reason to work, already possessing limitless amounts of money, there wasn't a whole lot that could hold your interest for any real length of time. Except crime. Criminals were always around, and they always needed catching. That was what Z did for fun, it was pretty much the only thing he did for fun. Everything else just seemed so...dull. He would have to find more interesting cases than these though. As crimes went, these were pitiful. Hardly worth his time. But that was just it- he had too much time, and nothing to do with it. That was the only reason why he took such cases, he was waiting for some real crime-
"I'm Anna Harply, and this is the BBC news at 10." a sudden pop-up appeared on his laptop to alert him of any breaking crimes, "There has been a world-wide shock today as hundreds of criminals all over the world suffered simultaneous, fatal heart attacks..."
Z snapped around instantly, his mind whirling. It was as though some God had anwered his prayers. He had already stopped listening to the broadcast-this story sounded familiar to him, but he just couldn't place it. He needed to think, needed to remember. Switching on his Ipod, he began listening to Bolt Thrower's "World Eater". His mind was already loosening up, already working faster. What had the old case been...what had it been? He stopped suddenly as it hit him.
The Kira case.
The last time this had happened, it had been going on in Japan. He should go to Japan, it would be a good place to start.
"No you shouldn't" he murmured to himself
"Yes I should." he replied
"No you shouldn't."
"YES, I should."
"No, you shouldn't."
"Right! That's it! I'm going to Japan!" he shouted, though he was the only one there to hear it. He wondered who else was already on this case, and how much they knew...

Ayama sat on a creaking swing in the middle of Master Rose Park, staring dully down at her Death Note. The letters in sliver were now a horrifying, ghostly white, blaring at her with a hidden, terrorizing vileness. She swallowed down a lump in her throat and twirled the pen between her fingers.

"Rin..." Her voice was alien; dead, empty, impassive. She felt her eyes burn but retained, watching the shinigami lean on the top of the swing set.

"Yes, master...?" Rin's voice was amused again, her creepy smile returned to her expression. Ayama ignored the her humorous tone and asked,

"Rin, you have to tell me who this other Death Note holder is.. Or, at least show me where I can get information on this.."

Rin's cold eyes rested on her, making her jittery. Finally, she shinigami spoke in a near-whisper,

"I do know of a place where you can learn more..." Rin silently fell to the damp soil and grasped Ayama's arm, the two of them speeding through the air towards a dark building. They were at a library.

"Rin! Are you messing with me?!" Ayama felt her cheeks flush, but she stared steadily at the creature.

"No, you stupid girl. Just go inside and look..." And so they did, inside the deathly quiet library and into the forbidden section where four large volumes gazed dark brown at her. She read the golden, glitzy word on its spine.

"Death Note Users Over the Years." She read aloud, reaching for it. Just as she touched it, another girl slid a book identical to it into place nearby. The two locked eyes, Ayama getting an uneasy feeling, and the girl left. Ayama, blinking, took the recently used copy and went to a secluded corner.

"Read and you will receive, my darling child..." Rin sniggered as Ayama read about the older Death Note holders, "Kira".

Waiting quietly as Eraldo Coil assured her of what she already knew, Pain fidgeted. After taking a quick gulp of her Coke, she activated her own voice-masking program. "So you've noticed it too? I assume it's the work of yet another Kira. As you are surely well aware of, nearly a hundred years ago a shinigami dropped a death note to the Human World. It all seemed so very unreal, but it brought upon the death of one of my predecessor, the original L. It was never discovered if Near, the second L, burned the real Death Note or a fake one used by X-Kira. I'm 82.74% he did, meaning this is the work of a all new shinigami." She paused momentarily to grab a manila folder marked "Kira" and studied it.

Pain stared at the space in between the folder and computer for a few dazed seconds. Mentally, she was planning out two responses at the same time. With a slight tilt of the head, she declared, "Pawn to e4." A smile graced her lips for the briefest of seconds after that. Oh, how she loved chess. I can still play chess with my colleagues while the world ends around me, she thought grimly.

"Clearly, it's but a matter of time until INTERPOL calls upon the world's most famous detectives to solve this case," she snickered, returning to her dark stance, " but they'll have no idea how hard it will be. I've gathered information on all the criminals to have died of a heart attack recently. On another note, there have been ten deaths in the same high school. All heart attacks, all of them normal kids." Pain had had no reason to look into this case, other than the fact it had appeared on the news while she was researching.

Yes, Pain knew she was on no means on good terms with Eraldo Coil. But they were on more of a rivalry than anything else. And more over, she didn't want to work on this case alone. "It appears there are two death note holders.'

Ayama, after engulfing all five volumes, sat in the darkened corner of the library, staring at the dust particles that fluttered in the air. So there had been more Death Note users, huh? She thought, clenching her jaw. There had been six, all under the title of Kira. How unoriginal... I could do better than they... I know I could... Suddenly, a whole new prospect opened itself to her, making her leap up, Rin slipping off the back of the leather couch she was resting on.

"Damn child, what is it that runs through that human mind?" Rin asked icily, but Ayama was ignorant to her spite; she had a new idea, one that'd actually be meaningful.

"Rin, I'm going to create a new world..." She smiled, running a slithering hand over the Death Note. "And I'm going to start with finding this 'little god'." She chortled silently, shoulders shaking. The Librarian walked over and shushed her, causing Ayama's cheeks to burn.

"Oh, how perfect..." Mused Rin, looking as if this whole world was nothing more than a slow movie. "A girl afraid of a librarian is going to run the new world.." Ayama glared at the shinigami, then smirked wickedly.

"Say, ma'am, what is your name? I think I've seen you before." Ayama turned on her innocent-girl charisma, batting her dark eyelashes. The woman turned to her supciously.

"My name's Mrs. Bentokin. Bentonkin Chou." The woman huffed off, disappearing into the maze of bookcases.

"Haha, watch this Rin..." Ayama pulled out her Death Note and scribbled the name in, giggling all the while. After writing, she placed the notebook on the dark wood table and waited, listening to the creaking of the floor as the woman walked. Suddenly, the creaking ceased, and a loud, deadly thud resounded throughout the building, although she doubted if anyone was here. She continued giggling, stuffing fingers into her mouth to stop. She couldn't help herself, she was ecstatic with joy. She was going to be the "little goddess" around here. ~

After she finished the letter, she folded it six times and shoved it into an elegant envolpe. The library had fine stantionary, and Ayama had the time to work on her penmanship.

"There, Rin. I'm sending this to Sakura TV, since they had once supported Kira, and telling them that there are two more coming to rule." She howled with laughter, Rin staring at her with emotionless eyes.

"So you are serious, foolish girl? You are claiming your boundment to a person who know not?" Rin's cold eyes followed Ayama as she looked for stamps below the check-out counter.

"Of course, silly creature. I'm going to be goddess of the new world, and you said yourself there was a "little god". I plan on ruling the world with him." She found a stamp and peeled the back off, placing the stamp perfectly in the corner. Rin leaned back on the leather couch, staring at the ceiling.

"You say 'him'. How do you know it to be male?" Ayama didn't look up as she spoke,

"I have a sure feeling. And, besides, why would a woman call herself a 'god'?" Rin shrugged, folding her long arms behind her head. Ayama placed the envolpe on the counter, staring at it blankly. Questions still buzzed in her head, as she knew doubt would always gnaw at her. Could she really trust this new Kira? Would he kill her as well? What could she do if he tried to go against her?

"You know..." Rin hummed coolly from across the room, smiling. "There is a way to see the names of others without asking. Many will become wise to the ways of the Death Note, and, well, if you use this power, there'd be no way around it." She laughed cruelly, the hairs on the back of Ayama's neck prickling. She sighed, smoothing her dress along her hips.

"What is this way?"

"Ha, it is called the 'eye trade'. I give you my eyes in exchange for half of your remaining lifespan...." Ayama stared at the shinigami, clearly disturbed. Give up half her life? That would mean she'd die before her fellow god. She wouldn't allow that. But, it was a precaution. What if he tried to do the same? What if he already had the eyes? She gasped into her open hand, staring at the floor. She tried to speak, but the words halted in her throat. Many minutes passed before she finally managed,

"A-alright... I'll do it..."

Suddenly, Rin was beside her, her cold hands wrapped around her body, her face contorted evilly. The lock on the library front door swirled closed, and soon a pain erupted down Ayama's head, her scream echoeing in the sky.~

(Don't worry, I won't god-mod with it. She won't even use it until asked. (: P.S. Let's just say that the letter was already sent. ^-^)

The flight from England had been long and boring, but it had given Z some time to plan his next steps, and think things through. Although he didn't know for sure who else was on the case, he was 99% certain that L would be one of them. He had worked with L only once before, and that hadn't exactly been brilliant, especially not after he accidently shot one of his/her/its key witnesses who also happened to be the crime boss Z had been after. That posed another question entirely, was L male or female? He had never actually found out, because he or she kept hiding behind one of those stupid voice-masking programmes. Still, despite their differences, he had resolved to contact her as soon as he was ready to begin his investigations in Japan.
The other person likely to be on the case would be Elraldo Coil. He had never worked with him before, but he always heard good things. Apparently he was from Whammy House too. Perhaps Z would see if he could get in contact with him, should his attempts at an alliance with L fail.
Now he was standing at the entrance to the airport, looking for contacts he had within Japan. Only one name came up. Toru Komochi. Z remembered the old man fondly, he had been the one who had taught him self defence at Whammy House. Z wasn't really sure if the old man would still remember him, after all, he had changed significantly since his time back then, which was several years ago. He wasn't even sure if he still had the right number, but it was at least worth a try. His reasons for calling would be two-fold. Firstly, he needed someone he knew he could trust to help him with certain matters that may arise due to legislation differences and whatnot. Secondly, he had forgotten his gun, leaving it beneath his pillow in his rush to get on board his flight to Japan. He remembered that Toru was the head of Global Defence, so he should at least be able to help him wth that.
Taking out his mobile, which was completely untraceable (except possibly by a company as advanced as Genetech), he dialled the number. It rang twice before a young man answered
"Lezune here."
Must be Toru's secretary or something thought Z, slightly annoyed that he would have to go through this person first.
"Umm, hi." replied Z "Can I please speak to Toru Komochi? Tell him its Z, and that its important."
He hoped the old man was available, because he hated waiting, but that was what he would have to do if Toru coudn't answer straight away.

(Yes, I made up his name, Chu. I did PM you about it, and you didn't say anything specific, so I made it up. Hope you don't mind.)
