Introduction

[NOT LOOKING FOR ANYMORE CHARACTERS]

She was a sleek and sexy female with the burden of one touch. Her eyes were a unique silver toned iris with a deep purple pupil that was often mistaken as black. She called herself Leaf.

Leaf was a pretty dominant girl. She never stayed put and she never listened to anyone that thought they could boss her around. She slept around a lot, but no one really knew her emotionally. Her life was filled with things that would kill anyone. Hurting? She didn't get hurt. She did the hurting. She would make someone fall in love with her, but she would never fall in love with them. She killed them.

Her life was not that complicated. She enjoyed hurting others and killing them as well. Her motto, "Death's here, Death's alive. Death can take whom ever She chooses." Leaf hated happy people because she could never be happy herself. She would make cars run into each other with babies in the backseat. She created Cancer and other diseases that were incurable. Not having a good time anymore, she felt herself fading away. She didn't mess around anymore and her eyes were turning a gray color slowly.

She walked into a bar one night to have a drink- she couldn't die so she would spend hours drinking. She spotted a girl across the way and caught herself staring for hours. This girl was new around here, fresh and alone. She found it her chance to redeem herself and walked over to her.

"Hey, I'm Leaf." She spoke to you calmly.

Kris couldn't help the grin that spread over her lips, her pink lips pulling back enough to reveal her straight white teeth. " Great," she replied cheerfully, quite content to be with Leaf. The girl with reddish hair repeated Kris' question before answering, her response an explanation as she described the fruit she wanted Kristina to try.

" Would you try it? You have to, I'm going to take you to China someday and you are going to try it."

The blonde nodded, her smile never leaving her expression. " I'll definitely try it then," Kris said easily as she unbuckled her seatbelt and opened her car door. While Leaf had been thinking she had parked the car so Kristina took this as her turn to walk around the car and open the car door for the other, giggling girl. Her cheeks were a lovely shade of pink, perhaps a bit darker than Leaf's, as she held the car door for the girl.

" My lady," Kris said jokingly as she made a slight gesture as though to say 'after you'. She waited patiently while holding back giggles herself.

Leaf's smile grew as wide as it could go and she stepped out of the car standing quite close to Kris herself. "Thank you madame." She played along and took Kris' hand into her own. "Shall we?"

Her hands were oddly warm and she moved her hand to wrap her arm around her waist without thought opening the door and walking through with her. "Hey, have you ever jumped out of a plane... without any gear?"

The restaurant was multicultural and so the design had varied by countries and religious matters. "Hello," a tan female approached saying this word in a cheery voice. "Oh... my..." she whispered staring at Leaf in fear. "Devil," she whispered and Leaf took offense.

"Devil?" She moved her arm from around Kris. "Devil... This word just KILLS me!" She giggled and whispered to the female not realizing Kris could hear. "Schmeit v sém don dai osk vein schtoke." She grinned, her pupils red like an animal's in dim lighting. "Don't compare me to that scum under the Earth's crust."

The woman nodded and shook as she spoke holding her hands from showing how much she shook. "Y-yes. S-s-"

"No worries, you didn't know." Leaf stepped back. "Our seats please."

Kristina nodded, her blonde hair shifting over her shoulders to cascade down her back as her soft bangs settled just in front of her eyes. With a slight shake of her head they were pushed out of her sight and she squeezed Leaf's hand gently. " We shall," she finally answered, her eyes soft as she gazed, unknowingly, at Death herself.

She found herself rather relaxed as an arm settled around her waist, growing a little confused at Leaf's next choice of words. Have you ever jumped out of a plane... without any gear? Of course she hadn't, Kristina was terrified of doing such a thing since it would probably end in death. Wouldn't it?! Unless there was a magic parachute in the air, which she was pretty sure there wasn't, the blonde was certain that jumping without gear would just be suicide. Instead of bringing her thoughts to form words she shook her head, her eyes unable to mask her surprise.

" No," Kristina replied slowly, the singe word seeming to hold more emotion than she'd ever thought possible. Fear, shock, perhaps sadness and some curiousity too.

The restaurant was interesting, the decor quite eye catching as a cheerful woman came up to the pair. Hello, but her voice lowered a few moments later as her expression became horrified, Oh... my... Devil. Leaf's response caught Kristina completely off-guard, surprising her more than the plane-jumping question had.

" Devil?" She removed her arm from around Kris as she spoke, " Devil... this word just KILLS me!" An almost insane giggle escaped the red haired girl before she said something the blonde just couldn't understand, a completely different language, as Kristina noticed a slight change in Leaf's eyes. Though, she couldn't completely tell what was so off.. But it scared her a bit. " don't compare me to that scum under the Earth's crust." Leaf added, confusing poor Kristina even further. Her blue-green eyes were anxious by this time, worried. She had no idea what had just transpired as the woman apologized and Leaf asked to be shown to their seats.

" After me please," the woman said with a gesture of her hand as she led them to a table that was in a small corner, a large enough table with only a few chairs and not many people nearby.

" Here you go," the woman said uneasily, pulling two menu's from where she'd held them in her tight grip and handing them to Kristina and Leaf as they sat. " I'll be back in a few moments to collect your orders but would you like to order a drink for now?"

"No drink for me," Leaf said with an edge of insanity. She wasn't completely the same toward the female and she looked at Kris. "I do apologize for my sudden change. I know it's confusing, but I cannot tell you. If I do... you might be in trouble." Her voice was serious, but the low detailed explanation sounded like something a drunk would make up.

She watched the waitress and wanted to get back at her for calling her the Devil. She wasn't a big fan of him as it showed unavoidably. She couldn't though, she wasn't in her normal environment and she was determined to make the dinner work. "Leaf... Leaf..." she repeated to herself looking at the menu and asked, "When you go back," she said to the woman, "send someone else out."

To anyone else, that request would have been rude and not so rational, but the woman nodded without hesitation and looked to Kris. "D-d-" she couldn't speak as Leaf was watching her and playing tricks on the woman's mind. "P-p-p-"

"Waiter!" Leaf yelled out as the woman watched her.

"No," she whispered dropping her pen and pad. "No!" She backed away falling to the floor and Leaf giggled as the rest of the customers had ignored the woman's cries.

"Va heit neit buit griet scheil neit ti nah!" Leaf stood up on the seat and jumped up and down like a small child. "Yes! You LOSE!" She giggled and her mind trailed off into Deathly thoughts, forgetting she was with Kris. "Bon voyage dear," she grunted as her scythe [in skeleton bio] appeared in her hand in an instant. She stopped jumping and the woman pushed herself back begging for mercy, begging for her life, begging that Leaf would let her live.

"Live you say?" Leaf's smile faded fast. "You insult me and then you ask to live... GRAND LITTLE BITCH!" She spoke and was no longer the Leaf Kris had met at the bar. This was another side. Her true side.

Leaf lifted the heavy scythe and grinned with an evil intention, her clothing becoming her cloak and hood as Death's face of truth could not be shown to humanity itself. "DIE FOR ME PLEASE!" She was insanely happy about what she was doing. She brought the scythe down and the woman screamed up until the scythe split her into two. Suddenly, everything was back to normal, Leaf was sitting across from Kris looking at her in silence.

The waitress was looking at the two and she looked at Leaf with a fear and then she looked at Kris with the same fear. "W-what would you l-like for d-drink?" She had whispered her words and Leaf smirked.

"I'll just have water."

Kris stared at Leaf, her blue-green eyes wide in shock and confusion. What had just happened?!

She blinked, hoping it had been a trick of the light or a strange daydream or something but wasn't so sure of this. She worried at the sight of the woman trembling in fear. At Leaf and Kristina.. What had Kris even done?

" I'll have the same please," she finally said after a few silent moments, trying to smile at the woman as her eyes moved to the redhead. Leaf's eyes appeared crazed but her expression was calm, it was odd. The woman practically ran away, the notepad gripped tightly in her hands, as Kristina turned to look at Leaf with an eyebrow raised.

" Am I crazy or did something really strange just happen?" Originally she had been about to use the word 'freaky' but Kris had thought better of it at the last second. " I mean really?" The blonde had no indication of a joking manner, her expression dead serious. Haha, dead....... The woman had been scared to death...

She could feel the wheels in her mind turning, even with the few drinks she'd had.

"Yes," Leaf said as if it hadn't mattered. "She called me the Devil. I hate him. I am not him." She sat her menu down and looked at her with soft, yet not so delightful red eyes of pure unholy evil. "It happened, but I stopped it right after I killed her. I do that. For a living."

She sighed and crossed her legs, sitting back with her hands folded in her lap. "I suppose you are going to leave now? I won't stop you if you do, but I'd like to finish what we haven't started." She seemed to slowly be going back to her calm and stable self. "I won't do that to you. Even if you did end up calling me the Devil by the end of the night, I couldn't do it to you. Don't be afraid of me?" She whispered leaning forward as the glasses of water were placed upon the table.

The woman wasn't the same woman, in fact, he was the manager. He had a look of worry on his face, but he kept his nervous smile. "Hello ladies, I am going to be of your service tonight. My name is Hector." He spoke in a spanish accent in which was thick and exhilarating also alluring to most women who were fond of him. "Have you l-ladies figured what you would like to eat just yet?" He tried not to look so much at Leaf, but at the same time trying to maintain his politeness.

He saw just the same that the woman had seen when they had walked through the doors. He saw what Kris couldn't see. He saw what Leaf wouldn't allow Kris to see for an unknown reason.

Hector stood with his head high, but his pride gone, his pen in hand but his book closed, he was off.

" Why the Devil? I don't understand..." Kris' voice sounded confused, no.. More than confused, bewildered and completely and utterly lost, as she looked over at Leaf's now red eyes. They hadn't been like that a few minutes ago, the blonde was certain of it. Leaf shifted her position in her seat and Kris felt a shiver run through her body, partially of fear but also something else. Curiousity, perhaps? She wasn't sure.

" 'Leave'," the blonde repeated, her blue-green eyes wide and bright as she shook her head. She didn't know how to respond after Leaf had just admitted to killing someone. Kris probably should leave, for her own safety, but.. Of course, she didn't move from her seat as Leaf's voice pulled her from thoughts of just this. Kristina was staring at the redhead, her brain feeling absolutely muddled.

'Finish what we haven't started'? What did that mean?

Kristina's hands were in her lap by this point, holding her hands tightly in each other as she fought the confusion in her mind. What on Earth was going on? Once again she was mesmerized by Leaf's eyes, their colour drawing her in, only to be brought back by the sound of glass meeting the table. The blonde jumped back in her seat, almost falling to the side and to the ground, but caught herself in time to make sure no one else saw her blunder. How positively embarrassing!

Her eyes didn't catch sight of the man beside her, not even when he spoke, as she immediately turned her gaze back to Leaf. " I don't want to go," she murmured softly, shaking her head slowly even as her eyes appeared torn. Leaf's recent actions had scared her, she wouldn't lie, and made her quite jumpy.. But Leaf was the only one Kris knew in this town.

"Get her anything you have that is fresh," Leaf whispered.

"Are there any allergies?"

"No, she has no allergies." Leaf looked at her with a bit of sadness in her red eyes. She slipped passed Hector and he nodded walking away silently in fear. "I'm sorry Kris. I'm..." she sighed and sat beside her touching the left side of her face and bringing it to her own to where they were face to face. "I'm not at all humane. I don't have a job and I am a thief and the world's number one sinner. People would call me the Devil, but I am not. The Devil can't take away lives, only I can. I'm Death," she whispered and kissed the girl's lips without a tragic thought in mind.

She slowly pulled back and she smiled. "I've never liked anyone before and I won't hurt you. You don't have to be afraid me." Leaf looked around the restaurant and kissed her quickly once more. "I won't."

Kristina barely heard the exchange, her pale eyes staring down at the table as she became immersed in thoughts of the events of the evening up until now.

A hand gently caressing her cheek and turning her head jolted her from her thoughts, her eyes seeming more blue than anything as she felt sadness taking over with every passing second. She lifted her gaze as Leaf raised her blonde head, Kris becoming all ears so to speak. Shock and fear flitted across her expression for a mere instant before disappearing into something more meaningful, genuine fondness, as Leaf brought their lips together.

" Promise?" The young woman asked softly, the simple question making her appear quite innocent and almost have a childish quality to her.

She nodded ever-so innocently and held her hands. "I promise." Watching her eyes she asked, "Do you want to go home tonight?"

The question was sudden and yet promising to a good night in Leaf's mind.

Five minutes passed and Hector brought out the finest of food for the both of them. It was a mix of all things in culture, but it looked good and not just thrown upon the plate. "We call this, Culture Corners." He spoke feeling more at ease with Leaf a bit distracted and walked away without asking, nor speaking, another sentence.

Kris' brows knit together in confusion but she answered nonetheless, " Sure."

She was comforted by Leaf's promise, and the hand holding her own, and smiled at the red haired woman. Her pale eyes were staring intently at Leaf so she was quite surprised when Hector came out with their food but settled down once he left them. Kristina found herself not wanting to let go of the hand she held although.. she was kind of hungry. She was torn between the decision, as well as not wanting to shift her gaze.

She hoped Leaf didn't notice this but, then again, nothing seemed to get past her. Nothing at all.

"Come on," Leaf smiled, "eat. I'm not going anywhere." She smiled wider letting her hand slide softly from Kris' and she picked up her fork and knife. "Tell me about you."

Leaf's eyes were slowly fading from red to a pinkish type color as she felt herself at ease inside. "I have to know more about you to take you places you like right? I want to know."

" O-okay," she stuttered, picking up her own fork and knife and picking at the food before bringing some to her lips. The question caught her off-guard as she chewed and forced herself to swallow the vegetables she had taken, considering Leaf's word's with the utmost care.

" Well, it depends on what you want to know." Kristina said slowly, tilting her head as she gaze at the redhead. " I'm from California, a small city called Carmel. I lived with my parents until my brother died in a car accident when I was 18 and finally got my chance to move out." She gestured around herself with one hand, " I've lived in three different states in the past year. Arizona, Florida, and now here."

Kris leaned over a bit, placing her elbow in the table and holding her head in her hand. " What else do you want to know?" She asked softly, genuinely curious as to what little bits of her life might be more interesting to Leaf.

"Your brother, what was he like? He live a good life or a bad life?" She tasted a seafood part of the dish and chewed with her mouth closed as she looked over at her. "You two were close or didn't get along so much?" Leaf's face was now intrigued, not realizing she hadn't explained why she asked, she kept the question on the table, but added another.

"But if you don't want to talk about him, you can answer this question- just yes or no- it doesn't so much have concern yet and don't worry I won't hurt you. Have you ever had sex." She was serious, but she laughed to take away the known tension that was on its way.

" He was.. a great guy.." Kristina answered haltingly, unsure of how to explain him but she was saved the trouble. Leaf asked a new and somewhat embarrassing question instead, to which the blonde felt her cheeks grow warm as colour flooded her features. When the redhead laughed the question off, Kristina gave a slightly nervous giggle. She'd never told anyone else this before.

" Never.." Came her mumbled reply, her bright eyes glancing to the ceiling for a moment before returning to meet Leaf's gaze. " Not once."

"Not once?" Leaf smiled a thoughtful quirky smile. "That's good to hear." She thought she whispered it, but it was above a whisper for Kris to hear. "You are cute with a blush. It suits you quite fair." Leaf smiled and leaned on the table looking at Kris asking. "Last question... Do you believe in selling your soul to the Devil?"

Kris didn't have the words to verbally respond and so she shook her head no as Leaf asked, " Not once?". She seemed happy with that response before moving on and asking another, somewhat puzzling question.

" Do you believe in selling your soul to the Devil?"

The blonde knew some people did but that wasn't what Leaf had asked, was it? She'd asked if Kris believed in it which caused her next response to be another shake of the head, albeit with a confused expression crossing her lovely young features. " I.. No. Not really. Why, Leaf?"

Setting

"Would you... sell your soul to me?" She was still smiling, but she was also very serious. "I know it is very weird or you might think something will go wrong, but the Devil takes souls with or without permission, I, however, cannot do that. I ask."

Leaf looked down at her own hands. "I don't make you do things I just bring you to my side if you say yes. When you die, you don't get sent down to a fiery Hell pit, instead, you stay with me. You... you help me by... giving me a baby or becoming Death herself. I'm not dying anytime soon and I really like you. It's sudden for a first date, but hey, I take risks in case you haven't noticed."

She giggled a little and looked up at her. "Kris, you don't have to answer me tonight." She stood up. "I'm gonna go to the restroom, but when I come out I hope to see you're still here. If not, I understand and I won't go look for you. You're grown up, you can handle yourself and as long as I don't hope for it, nothing bad will happen to you. So you are safe." Leaf placed her car keys on the table. "You can take the car if you leave. I can find it later. Don't hesitate."

Kris knew her eyes had widened immensely but she barely noticed she'd dropped her fork to her plate until the clatter reached her ears, though it barely made her even flinch. Her soul. Permission. Ask.

Leaf wanted Kris to sell her soul and so she was asking permission. But, wait.. She was explaining.

The redhead had a soft voice as she allowed her words to fill the air around them, the musical words floating around only to find their way to Kris' ears and be configured in her mind. A baby, was the one thing that really drew her attention. A child. As in, a baby from her own body? Was that even possible?! Kris was pretty sure it wasn't but.. was Leaf even bothered by the reality of this? She didn't appear to be, perhaps she had her own plan of how to work that option out if Kristina were to say 'yes'.

Maybe, anyways.

To be honest, she saw no reason to not accept Leaf's offer. She pretty much had no one any more and never saw the people she did know anyway. Either way, Kristina had no intentions of ditching this 'date', if it could still be called that due to the new situation that had arisen.

But, on the other hand, the blonde refused to give any answer right away for fear of making the wrong one. She would think on it, not for overly long, of course, but long enough to be sure she would be happy with the decision. Sure, it was Leaf and Kris had an odd attraction to her and felt amazing just being with her - even in the short time she'd known her - but she wanted to feel right about her choice.

When Leaf returned Kris had her eyes on the table in front of her, the food forgotten, as she was completely lost to her thoughts.

Settling across the table from her, Leaf watched her silently, but her mind was filled with different outcomes of the thoughts in Kris' mind. "You okay?" She spoke nervously for just a seconds and folded her hands. "Don't rush the thought because it can't be undone if you say yes." She gave a clear warning.

Raising her hand, Hector came over with the receipt and left again as Leaf looked at the wallet and placed her money on the table, more than enough to cover the food and drinks.
