They came from the sky, their assignment to attempt and make peace with the humans ending in horrible failure. Their ship was shot down from the sky and the six beings from the planet Artemis were taken captive by the American government.
Image

They were scared of these beings, realizing that they had incredible abilities and fearing that more would come in an attempt to take over the world. To better understand the foreign threat they locked the the aliens up in Area 51 and began testing on them.
They subjected the poor aberrations to many different kinds of torture and in the end they figured out a way to use them as weapons, but they weren't stable and couldn't completely control them. In the end they sent the six beings to live on an estate Ben Avon Heights in Pennsylvania until they can recover and be used for infiltration and other projects.

Image

ImageEarth has decided to return the six to Artemis on the condition that they work as spies and bring them information. They have no choice but to agree and are trying to devise a plan to escape the clutches of the UN and be free once more. They will not be returned home until they are physically and mentally better and in the mean time they have a few weeks to come up something. We begin on the morning they are released from Area 51 to their new home.

The hug was very much appreciated and Kou didn't want Moa to leave, but she knew she should let the girl check out her room and do what she needed. Kou took the oppertunity to flip off the cameras and pull the disgusting, bloody white clothing from her body. As the smell of antiseptic and hardship fled from underneath her nose, Kou resolved that she needed to do something.

It was high time she had an attitude change, they were no longer in that place and hopefully they were never going back. Kou took two deep breaths and opened the closet. The selection was huge! She had never had this many things to choose from, even at home. It took a few minutes but the female settled on a black camisole with a pale blue pull over and acid wash jean shorts.

Almost as soon as she stepped out of the closet a knock came from the door. Kou quickly wiped her face to take away the remnants of tears and hoped she didn't look like she had been crying. The female tried her hardest to put on a smile before going to see who it was. "Hey Moa," Kou stepped aside to let her friend in. "I was thinking maybe we could bring your bed in here, there's plenty of room unless you think we should sleep in your room?"

Thunder boomed outside and Kou jumped in surprise. When she touched ground her body disappeared and out poked a little bunny from the bundle of clothes on the floor. I must have been thinking of Moa's love for rabbits. She thought as she hopped out from beneath the pile.

She was a bit embarrassed that she had lost control like that, normally Kou could keep her abilities in check and she couldn't just turn back because limited to changing every few minutes. Oh well, it was better than being stuck as a lion or an armed guard or something.

Kou looked up at Moa, feeling smaller than normal. She sat up on her hind legs and tilted her head inquisitively as if asking "What should we do now?" Another boom came from outside and again she jumped; the instincts that came with being a rabbit told her to hide, but her human side told her to stay put.

Thunder crackled overhead, the loud noise growing rather annoying to the alien. He leaned back in his chair, sighing. He was certain the drug hadn't fully wore off, as he still was a bit sleepy, though he didn't really wish to take nap in the kitchen. However, he was distracted from his thoughts by August, who announced that he was going outside and that they were free to join him. Rain and August? Yeah, he'd pass. Bosco was next to make an appearance, drifting to Antos's other side for some bacon. The way Bosco spoke made it seem like nothing had happened at all - as if they were still on their ship, talking casually once again. Bosco claimed the shower next, something Antos didn't mind in the slightest. He knew that he was dirty, as he could feel some leftover, dried blood upon his skin, and he was certain that he probably didn't smell too great. Still, he decided it would be best to procrastinate, putting the deed off as long as he could.

Soon, it was just Mako and he in the kitchen, Antos smiling at the energetic boy. But, his attention did not hold long, his eyes flickering back to the food upon the table. He settled upon a piece of bacon, picking his chosen piece from the pile sat there. It had grown colder than Antos really liked it, his palm cracking into flames, the food held above it. He was careful not to catch it on fire, as that could cause problems he wasn't so keen to deal with. Quickly, he extinguished the flamed, realizing that he might have made it too hot. He could never win.

As he waited for it to cool just a bit, he turned to Mako, about to start a conversation. However, he stopped, realizing what he might have done. Mako wasn't scared of fire - was he? Antos knew that some of the others were, and he certainly didn't want to be the one to trigger bad memories for them. But he had just carelessly used his power in front of his friend... was it going to have the same effect?

He felt it best to change the subject. "So, how are you liking the home?" he inquired, taking a bite of the bacon, which he immediately gagged on. He'd burnt it to a crisp, its delectable taste changed to a bland, smoky charcoal. He placed what he hadn't eaten on the counter, making a mental note to throw it away later.

Antos listened to what Mako had to say. He didn't imagine that any of this was easy on the boy, though he knew Mako remembered less than others. Antos figured that was for the best. That place was...

Nope, he wasn't going to go there! He scolded his mind for trying to drag up such thoughts. He ordered it to, instead, make sure it was listening to Mako. Once his friend was finished, Antos turned, his eyes peering around the kitchen. "Well I, for one, would love to go and explore the house a bit more. Would you like to come with me?" he asked as he stood up, grabbing the blackened piece of bacon and placing it in the nearest waste bin. Too bad he had ruined it, and he wasn't too eager to get another. Oh well...

The sound of rain had never bothered Momo, in fact, he rather loved the patter of raindrops on the roof and the occasional flash of lightning. It was familiar and almost comforting if not for the terrified yelp that had come from upstairs. His attention was attracted to the person beside him when the smell of something burning filtered under his nose. Mako turned his curious yellow eyes to the scorching plate of bacon and followed the shimmering hands up to the only person left at the table.

Fire was not something he was afraid of, in fact, he could kind of relate to fire. The orange color, the way it flickered restlessly like it was ready to jump and become alive. Mako was entranced by the way he could use it so easily, he knew it hurt Antos, but it was still pretty awesome. He turned back to his food, embarrassed that he had been watching when the other boy turned the heat.

Mako was happily eating his omelet when Antos inquired about his thoughts on the house. Truthfully, Mako did not have any, but he would make some up if it meant holding the attention of his current boy crush. "It's cool, the architecture of the outside is really nice and whoever was hired as the interior designer did a great job of choosing cozy furniture." Mako knew nothing about styling houses, his own house on Artemis had been designed by professionals because of the copious amounts of money his parents enjoyed wasting.

Makoto poured himself a cup of water and took a swig, trying to decide if there was anything else he should say when Antos asked him if he would like to explore. "I would love to!" He put his fork down and jumped right up, snatching a piece of bacon that wasn't burn to a crisp by his friend and following the boy out of the kitchen.

Lightening flashed across the sky, followed shortly by the booming sound of thunder. August had his face turned up towards the sky, not being bothered one bit by the drops that would fall into his eyes. He'd noticed that Bosco had followed him outside, but for now August kept quiet as he listened to the rain. His hair had begun to stick to his forehead, despite only being outside for a short amount of time.

"The rain fits the atmosphere of this change, doesn't it? Cold but welcome."

"You should be a poet." August stuck his hands into the pocket of his jacket as he lowered his face to look out across the garden. To be honest, he did feel a bit odd standing there now. Since they first arrived here, the only Earth he'd experienced was the inside of a cell. That, and the few different rooms he was strapped in when those lab coats had their fun digging around his brain. This was very different, as if it was a completely different world. He kind of liked it.

"So what do you think? By the way, you might want to make sure they didn't bug your jacket. I wouldn't put it past the humans to do such a things."

A small chuckle escaped his lips. "Then you might as well check yours. While you're at it, you better go through all of those clothes that they gave us." He looked over at the smaller male and gave him a shrug, then once again moved his eyes over the garden. "The entire property is bugged. Whether they put something in my jacket or not doesn't really make a difference, unless I plan some sort of escape. Wouldn't want them tracking me, after all."

He waited a moment, glancing over at Bosco for just a second. "Anyway I don't really care much. I was getting pretty bored having the same things done to me everyday, though. This changes things up a bit! They gave you the same offer too, right?." Once again he turned towards Bosco, leaning in slightly as he gave him a smile. "I'm more curious about how everyone feels about returning to Artemis. Care to share your thoughts? I'm told I'm a good listener."

Would not have been a bad compliment if he didn't doubt Augusts sincerity. So he would not respond to it as he reflexively wanted to, as it would likely be something along the lines of him telling August off. After all, maybe it could have been a compliment."Thank you." He said, and at Augusts next words, Bosco could only shrug,"I would, if I knew what I was looking for. Subterfuge isn't exactly a niche of mine. But, your clothes, your call. I just find it a little funny that they were willing to give yours back to you."

Regarding the question of thoughts, Bosco could have guessed he would have responded as such."I was made an offer, yes." He said with a frown, though the frown was not directed at August. "You sound like you didn't mind it at all. Must have been nice." Wiping some of the rain water from his eyes, Bosco sighed as he thought. "Oh, I could share, but I am sure you would it find it boring. It revolves around me believing that our homecoming will not be as pleasant as we hope, and not because the of the little job that the humans have for us."

Bosco's own words gave him pause. Certainly that wasn't the propaganda talking... Yes, Bosco was told a myriad of unpleasant things. But it wasn't the humans attempts at trying to put thoughts in his head. At least that is what he assured himself. It was just something in the back of his mind that was bothering him about Artemis and their return. But right now that was not a nice matter to focus on.

That train of thought ended soon enough, and Bosco looked back at August and smiled,"Well, it is not that important yet. Thoughts change depending on what we have to go on. Though speaking of curiosity, I think I am going to check out the rest of this place. Do you want to come with me?" He offered.

"I was made an offer, yes."

August turned away from Bosco and, pulling his hands out of his jacket, lifted them slightly and hopped one by one down the stares until he stepped onto the paved walkway below, his bare feet making a small splashing sound as they met with the wet surface.

"You sound like you didn't mind it at all. Must have been nice."

"Now that just makes me sound heartless. They did cut into my head you know and that wasn't exactly pleasant," he said as he pointed a finger at his dripping wet hair. "I am a little relieved to be out of there, I just don't like to dwell on the past." He walked a few feet out into the grass, realizing that the green strands that grew from Earth's soil felt slightly different on his skin. Not extremely, but compared to the grass on Artemis the grass here was a tad bit rougher, not that he minded. In fact it actually felt kind of good on his feet, especially since drops of ran covered the ground. The rain here smelt and tasted differently too, but that didn't matter to him. Rain was rain no matter what sky it came from.

"Oh, I could share, but I am sure you would it find it boring. It revolves around me believing that our homecoming will not be as pleasant as we hope, and not because the of the little job that the humans have for us."

There was no answer from August. He merely watched Bosco as he spoke and listened carefully to his words. What he said was very true. Chances were, even if they did manage to slip their way past the plans the humans had for them, Artemis might not be so welcoming when they return. They'd all been experimented on, so what's to say that any of them were trustworthy enough to live on Artemis again? And even if they were welcomed back, there's the possibility that the whole ordeal with them being captured and put through torture might lead to Artemis raging war on Earth. Artemis isn't some planet full of fools ether. If the group did happen to go along with returning as spies, they'd be found out sooner or later and be most certainly sentenced to death as traitors, and dying wasn't something August planned on doing any time soon.

"Well, it is not that important yet. Thoughts change depending on what we have to go on."

August spun around on the grass, stopping to look up at Bosco. "Now that's the way to think! Planning ahead is so boring anyway."

"Though speaking of curiosity, I think I am going to check out the rest of this place. Do you want to come with me?"

"You're asking for my company? You must've really missed me!" He spoke in a joking tone with a smile still on his face. His face turned towards the sky one last time and he felt a little strange for just a second as he thought of the fish that would normally be swarming around up high, enjoying the weather just as much as he would. Mentally shaking his head to toss the thoughts away, made his way back up the stairs and pushed open the front door.

"Lead the way!," he said as he went inside and stepped over to let Bosco get in front of him, though he made no attempt to hold the door open for the other boy.

Kou changed back a few minutes later and threw her clothes back on, her cheeks were a bit red because she was embarrassed by the fact she had lost control. "I'm gonna go back downstairs," Kou said and left the room. She looked outside one of the windows in the hall and spotted August and Bosco outside, standing in the rain. Would they mind if I joined them? She thought as she made her way down the stairs and to the door that led to the outside. She poked her head out, the chill from the rain biting into her skin.

It was odd and yet, it felt extricating to be cold. "Do you guys mind if I join you?" Kou asked with a shy smile. She didn't really wait for an answer, she just sort of opened the wooden block a bit wider and stepped onto the grass. Wet dirt squished between her previously clean socks and turned them brown instantly. It was better than a shower; in a shower you were confined to one space, but outside you had the whole world to wash away the dirt of yesterday.

Something purple caught her eye and she turned in the direction of a bush growing delicate flowers. Kou walked over and plucked one from it's perch, water droplets creating patterns on the plant's petals. "They're so pretty," she mused and the shy smile she had been wearing slowly grew. Bosco and August looked as if they were busy talking and Kou didn't want to interrupt them further; she traveled farther into the garden, not wanting them to think she was eavesdropping or something.

Kou hadn't wandered too far and before she knew it, Kou was in front of a large, blue hole filled with water. "There's a pool!" She shouted excitedly and did a happy dance. She loved swimming! Kou ended her little jig and slipped on the wet grass, landing with a thud! On her butt. "Oof!" The female stood and rubbed her bottom, she wasn't going to let a little thing like falling ruin her happy mood.

Moa simply sat and stared when Kou turned into a small bunny, the type she had always dreamed of. She was so cute! Its a good thin-ah no! Its bad! Really bad! She felt a little flustered by the sudden change, slightly unsure of what to do. Just as she was reaching out her hand to give it was pat, Kou-bunny changed back into Kou, blushing slightly, probably from the fact that she had lost control in front of her as she said that she would go downstairs. When she left, Moa immediately flopped back down on the bed and rolled around as her emotions started to show themselves. Its so cute! So cute! Her cheeks turned red slightly at the prospect that she had just tried to stroke Kou.

Finally, she recovered slightly and sat up on bed, looking out of the window. Kou seemed to have joined the boys, enjoying herself in her new surroundings probably. She watched as she found the pool and did a happy dance, smiling slightly. She didn't want to admit it, but Kou was cute as a human too. However, she wasn't that desperate to go into the rain, not being a fan of water like Antos. Who knows what water would have done to her gadgets? Only when Kou fell did she frown slightly in worry as she checked the closet for a raincoat so she could rush outside. Sure enough, there was a blue one, possibly for Kou, but she honestly didn't care much. Slipping one on, she raced down the stairs to find her.

She slowed down slightly as she neared to pool, panting a little just as she saw Kou stand up. "A...are you alright?" She asked, her red eyes looking her up and down in worry. Now that 'Mama' Aika was with Vena, she was kind of unsure what she was supposed to do, but her instincts told her to make sure Kou was ok. "Its raining, you should get in, you'll catch a cold." She told her, looking toward the house to check if the weird earthling was there. He must have vanished to who knows where. "Come on, Kou, lets get in. You should wear something at least." Without thinking, she pulled off her rain jacket and put it on the shorter girl, pulling it tight around her. "Whoops!" a flash of light passed her eyes as her hand turned into a screw driver. "I knew those things are not waterproof! Geez..." She took Kou's hand and pulled her gently but insistently toward the house. "I need to get fixed, I think."

Kou had just stood up when someone in a blue rain coat came rushing at her and swept her in an embrace. "A...are you alright?" Kou blinked in confusion and realized that the voice belonged to none other then Moa who she had just attempted to escape from due to her embarrassment. Shocked, Kou didn't say anything until Moa added; "Come on Kou, let's get in. You should wear something at least."

"I'm wearing clothes," the black haired female mumbled unintelligibly and followed the motherly woman towards the door. "Wait, what are you doing?!" She yelled as Moa wrapped the rain coat around Kou and a light blinded them both. Quickly, Kou ripped the jacket off and wrapped it around Moa once more. "You need it more than I do," she said and allowed Moa to take her hand and tug her back inside.

"That doesn't look so good," Kou said, watching as sparks flew from Moa's electronic arm. "You'd think they would water proof something like that..." She trailed off in thought and decided that the best thing to do for now would be attempt to dry it off. So Kou went into the kitchen and grabbed two red dish towels from the rack. When she returned she began to gently pat down the broken section, trying to absorb as much water as possible. "How do you shower with this thing?"

Is it heavy? Kou wondered to herself as she continued her efforts to dry Moa off. Does it hurt when it transforms? She didn't want to be rude and ask, some people were sensitive to these sorts of subjects and Kou didn't want to make the tension worse. Her efforts were futile, sparks were still coming off. "I'll go get Xavier, maybe he can do something." Kou left the towels in Moa's care and ran as fast as her legs could carry her up the stairs to the last door on the second floor.

"Excuse me?" She called inside while knocking. "Mr. Xavier? We have a problem and we need your help."

Though August was correct in his internal assumptions of Bosco's worries, it was not the seed of what was bugging him. It was the potential for a conspiracy of a more nefarious nature. The train of thought could be started as thus... Why eight children, the majority of which would not be the best choices anyway, when there would be so many better candidates for ambassadors. Like actual ambassadors. And should the mission be peaceful in intent, why then did Artemis weaponize them. Speaking of weaponizing, there were likely better candidates for that as well. As well, Artemis surely would have known how the humans would have reacted, with as much knowledge as they seemed to have had. I am sure by now you can imagine the worries of Bosco with those few statements. To Bosco, something was not adding up. But like he said, it was not important yet.

"Fair enough." he said to August with a shrug. Of course August was relieved. He didn't picture August being the type of guy to want to be adapted into a masochist for long. Knowing him he would likely say that pain would get boring. "Well I don't see nothing wrong with planning ahead. But it is pointless in doing so when you can't see far enough ahead for it to matter. Though, I will admit there is a certain amount of satisfaction in contigency plan playing out as expected. Then again... I can't argue the satisfaction of winging it either." He said, smiling back at the elder teen.

When Kou came out, Bosco could not help but smile at her. "Of course you can, Kou. I would love for you to." He said, eager to partake in her company as well. He had been meaning to spend some time with her since they got here.

He turned his head to speak to August as he approached the door, Bosco followed and opened the door for himself but didn't make any move in going inside yet. He instead grinned, "Of course I missed you. If you were gone, who else would test my patience so thoroughly?"He jested in return. He looked back to see where Kou was... but she seemed to have already went about her way. Instead of being disappointed, he smiled at that. Quick on the adventure, it seemed. And he had taken a mental note of the flowers she had been paying attention to only moments prior. Maybe something he could use to cheer her up on a bad day, or make her happier on a good day.

Turning back to August once more he nodded and entered, taking off his shoes and leaving them by the door. "Well let's start up top, then. I saw another staircase, I want to find out whats up there. Besides, I need to change clothes soon anyway. I don't feel like trodding around wet all day." He said and made his way up to the second floor and continued his way up to the third level. A rather luxurious recreations area awaited them. Now that was something to see. He could imagine Antos spending a good amount of time in this sort of comfortable setting. And with that fireplace, surely he would feel right at home. The computers seemed a little archaic to the alien, but he assumed that it was good quality for earthlings.

Bosco immediately marched his way to a large and puffy suede recliner and put his hand on it."I hearby claim this vessel of resting to be my own, and reserved for me should we all decide to recreate up here." He said as he imagined how soft and comfy it would be by looks alone. He did turn to look back as he heard someone running up the stairs below. What was going on down there?

Makoto seemed quite willing to jump on the idea of exploring the home, something Antos had been itching to do upon arrival. He would have been content to go on his own, as he had planned to do so, but the idea of having company seemed a much better one, especially after all of the isolation that they had endured. "Right," he said, scooting his seat back as he stood, its legs easily sliding against the polished floor. Now that he had regained his footing, he allowed curiosity to drag him the rest of the way, gliding out of the kitchen and dining room and into the foyer in which they had entered, making sure to keep a slow pace as to stay by Mako.

Antos had to admit, he was fascinated by the house's architecture. Was this the way all human structures were designed? How interesting! However, he forced himself to use self-control, as he knew his more energetic companion would, most likely, not be eager to study every aspect of the home. So, he made his way to the living room that resided across the hall. It looked rather cozy, and welcoming, muttering something about it being rather neat, though he did not give the room too much attention as he was sure he had heard the door open. Antos recognized the voices as Bosco and August, who didn't seem to have noticed their two friends, as they were up the steps in a moment’s notice. It felt weird, to hear the voices of his friends after being away from then for so long. It was refreshing, even, knowing that they were okay.

However, his thoughts didn't linger on that subject for long, returning to his urge to explore. He hadn't really thought to ask where Mako wished to go, though it certainly would have been a polite gesture instead of dragging the poor boy around, instead attracted to the marble staircase that lead upstairs. It's beauty was remarkable, as was the fact that someone had taken the time to carve such a delicate feature to the house for the sole purpose of their use. Antos almost called the humans kind for giving them such a marvelous home, though he quickly reminded himself that they were anything but. This was merely an act to get their alien guests to forgive and forget. Antos, though, wished it was a true display of kindness, as he'd like to have thought that they had somehow changed. Still, he knew they hadn't.

Still, how gorgeous! He swiftly hopped along every smooth step, a hand running along the glossed wooden railing. But, he stopped when he reached the top as he heard a door slam from below, and footsteps and voices following after. Before he could think to inquire what was happening, Kou came racing up the steps, rather frantically, toward the second floor hallway. In her determination to get wherever she was going, Antos doubted she had even noticed that she had passed by two of her fellow aliens, though Antos hadn't really engaged her, instead leaning against the railing so that she could pass.

He almost called out to her, asking what was wrong, though he refrained from doing so, as he was fairly certain Kou did not like him and he didn't wish to make matters worse. Instead, he turned to Mako, merely shrugging, as if to say that he had no idea what was going on. He continued up the steps, watching as Kou knocked upon the door at the end of the hallway, the one he'd seen the human leaning against only a bit earlier. Whatever it was that was troubling her, Xavier was certainly in a better position to fix it than Antos was, unless, of course, she needed something burnt.

Antos lost interest in the subject of Kou's behavior, instead finding himself attracted to the second set of stairs that he had yet to explore. "I wonder what's up here..." he thought aloud, hoping Mako shared a similar curiosity, as he did not wish to be dragging his friend around. He had said he wished to explore, though, so it wasn't like Antos was forcing him to act.

The second staircase was easy to climb, leading to another hallway that resembled the second. Were these... more bedrooms? It wouldn't hurt to check, so he pulled the nearest door open, his eyes immediately widening at the sight. The first thing he noticed was not that the two other boys were there, but the tremendous amount of books that this room held. He let out an audible gasp, leaving poor Mako in the dust as he rushed to the shelves, immediately pulling out novels from their places. He did not recognize their authors, nor their names, but they looked so intriguing none the less. This room made the small collection in his own bedroom look petty. "Who's... Dose-toe-vesky?" he asked, slaughtering the pronunciation of Dostoevsky. However, the question was closed ended, as he immediately sank down into the nearest seat he could find and began to read.

Though he became a bit distracted with what exactly he was sitting on. Looking down, he found himself in some sort of large, circular, squishy pack of... what were those, beads? His body sunk into the strange chair, sliding along the leather. "Guys, you've got to try this out!" he called to his fellow aliens, leaping up from the item humans know to be a bean bag, casting his book aside.

After about an hour in the library and Mako doing nothing but opening books, flipping through dusty pages, then putting them back, they were called downstairs by the human Xavier. Relieved that he wouldn't have to give some excuse to Antos so that he could leave, Mako put the book he had just picked up back and looked at the other three in the room. August, Bosco, and Antos had looked up as well but Mako had his doubts that they would actually come to whatever lecture Xavier intended to give. "I'm gonna go down there, maybe he has something important to tell us." Whatever the reason, Makoto did not want to spend another second in the archaic library with the ancient computers. Who used such bizarre things anymore? Had earth not updated their systems to hologram projections?

Mako left, going down two flights of steps to get to the bottom floor. He spotted the girls in the living room, but only counted three heads. Where was Xena? Perhaps she was asleep? Shaking his head, Mako made his way over and plopped onto one of the leather recliners. It was huge and he felt like he was sinking into it. "What's going on ladies?" He asked, putting his hands behind his head and attempting to finally relax despite the fact that he had counted four cameras in the room. Oh wait, make that five.

Suddenly Mako spotted Moa's arm and his eyes widened. "Whoa, Moa what happened?" He clambered out of the seat and walked forward, kneeling down to examine the damage. It did not look good. Maybe this was why Xavier called them down? Oh no! Was he going to announce that Moa had to go back!?

"Your head is going to over heat if you keep over thinking that hard." A squeak came from beside him. Mako stood up and scratched the back of his head, "you're right. Hey Aika, do you know why we were all called down here?"

Kou had knocked on Xavier's door for what felt like hours until finally he swung it open with a look of indignation. "Moa's arm is broken!" His expression changed quickly and he instructed Kou to wait outside while he shut the door and disappeared into his room. A few minutes later the human emerged and told her to wait downstairs with the others.

Instead of going back down, Kou went to her room and changed out of her soggy clothing and then went to Moa's room to grab the other female a pair. She grabbed the first pair of pants and shirt that she could reach on the high shelves and ran downstairs, careful not to wrinkle the bundle. "I brought you some dry clothes," Kou said and placed them on the couch for when Moa was ready. "Xavier called someone I think, but he told me we should wait down here."

And wait they did, it was nearly an hour before anything happened and Kou's nerves were on edge. What if they had to take Moa back? What if they weren't going to let her return home? It didn't help that Mako came in and started asking questions that only seemed to confirm Kou's worst thoughts. She curled up into the corner of the couch, glad that Aika was here. Xena was nowhere to be found, but that was fine by her. That girl scared her with her mood swings and quite frankly, Kou couldn't handle that right now.

The only thing that broke the silence besides Mako's babbling was the occasional boom of thunder. Each one seemed to be louder then the last and after about the tenth one Kou couldn't take it any longer. "How is waiting around going to fix you!" She didn't mean to yell, but the girl believed that it was her fault that this had happened because Moa had come outside to rescue her when she had slipped in the wet grass. Abruptly, the door bell rang and Kou jumped. She had not expected that sound.

"I'll get it," Kou left quickly, her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment. She looked out the window to see one of the least governmently looking people she had ever seen. His hair was shaved in some sort of odd fashion statement dyed the brightest shade of yellow the salon offered. "Hello?" She opened the door a drop, wondering who this human was. Was he a friend of Xavier's? The one who was going to fix Moa?

Now this was a call. And here he had thought that he would be getting the next few days off after all that work he had put into the house. But sure enough, something got broken already. Job security, right? Aw, Manny didn't mind. He loved his job. This was a good chance to meet the kids that were to take up residence here. And may give him a good idea how long the house would stay in good condition.

Manny was a sight coming into the driveway. With all the other agents driving lovely black SUV's, Manny was driving a white work van with a battered box trailer behind it. He scanned his ID at the gate and they did a quick check of the trailer and van and let him through. After putting the van in park, he clipped his name badge to his clothes and zipped up his pastel blue jumpsuit. Put a pencil behind his ear and his ever handy screwdriver and channel locks in his back pocket. Always great things to have on hand. Getting out, he walked and opened the sidedoors of his van to get his toolbag before making his way to the front door.

Manny was humming to himself as he got to the doorstep and firmly pressed the doorbell. And he wasn't kept waiting as the door opened quick enough. What a cute little girl. Had to be one of them aliens. They sure didn't look so different from humans. Putting on his biggest grin, he greeted her, "Well hello there! I'm Agent Collins. Word has it that there is some fixin' to be doin', as I might say. Have I come to the right house?" He asked. He knew he had. But he was being friendly, and giving the girl some control over the situation that might make her feel more at ease.

"Well hello there! I'm Agent Collins. Word has it that there is some fixin' to be doin', as I might say. Have I come to the right house?" Slowly Kou nodded her head and stepped out of the way for him. He didn't look anything like the typical agent what with his wild hair and bright blue jumpsuit; he looked more like a handy man then anything. Kou was skeptical, but she did not say anything. "I'm Kou," She replied and led him to the living room. "Can you really fix her hand?"

She sat on the floor across from the others, watching intently. If he tried to hurt Moa, or tried to take her back with him Kou would not hesitate to bite. She put her thumbnail between her teeth, anticipating quietly for the moment that he would be finished. Across the room Mako was twiddling his thumb and checking his wrist as if he actually wore a watch, he wasn't particularly interested in mechanics and whatnot, but Xavier had told them all to come down to this room in order to meet the new agent so here he was, waiting to start a conversation with the others but they were all so quiet around the human.

Bosco, August, Antos, Aika, and Xena were gathered there as well although Xavier, their supposed guardian had yet to make an appearance since breakfast. Perhaps they should drag the agent out of his room and make him explain why had had called a meeting and then failed to show up himself?

Manny looked down and smiled at the girl, didn't look like she could hurt a fly. But of course he knew otherwise. With bag in hand, the older man followed her inside, setting it down on a small end table and looking around the home. Still intact, that was a good sign. He was half expecting this place to be wrecked. Manny gave her a chuckle when she asked him if she could fix Mao. "But of course I can! I can fix darn near everything. No need to worry yourself, young lady." He said to Kou and patted her lightly on the shoulder.

Moving over to his bag, he pulled out a few standard tools and pocketed them,"Alright dear, first I need to see what the problem is. Just a harmless little diagnostic. I was told that you got wet, if that is the case then this will be done in a matter of minutes. It being just a short, all I have to do is locate it and reinsulate it." He calmly told Mao, keeping a calm smile. Working with live wires always carried a thrill. Especially alien stuff. This was the kind of work he lived for. So he got to work, he had already looked over the wonderous schematics the agency had given him on her but thankfully this small of a fix was standard electrician work.

Bosco did not quite know what to make of this guy. He was another agent, and that immediately put him on alert. Sure, he sounded nice, and didn't seem like he was meaning any harm. But that was how these agents get to you. Still, Moa did needed help, this man was apparently qualified to do at least minor repairs. He didn't seem intimidated at all by the mech girl's inner workings. Bosco would still keep an eye on her though.

Bosco sighed, and looked out the window. The glass was still covered in droplets but it had stopped raining. Such strange weather here on earth. He sort of began to zone out as he gazed outside. To think he was just sitting here. Waiting to go home, but that goal felt like centuries away. Kou, August, Moa, Mako... His thoughts drifted from person to person, to home and earth and future and past.

He shook his head to try and get his mind away from that stuff. Thinking too much about those things would put him in a bad place. He needed to focus on the here and now. Surely it couldn't hurt to just forget everything for just one afternoon.
