She then led Alex through many winding hallways to her personal gym. It was a large, spacious room with fifty foot ceilings. The walls were made of solid metal as were the floors. Weapons of all kinds were on racks next to the door.
"Take your pick human," she said primly as she glided gracefully to the other side of the room, maintaining her queenly air. Until she reached the other side of the room, where she tore off her jewelery, abandoning it on the floor. And then ripped off her royal blue gown, to reveal the black tights and skin tight shirt she wore underneath. She was always prepared to fight. She was a vampire warrior queen after all.

She grabbed his wrist and twisted it backwards behind his back in a rapid motion.
"Keep wondering," she hissed in his ear before kicking his back hard. He, of course, slammed into the concrete wall. She assumed that it hurt.
Before he could come back at her, which she knew he would, she did a few show-offy blackflips. She was extremly limber. Once she felt she was a safe distance away she paused for a moment, staring at Alex. He was making her slightly uneasy. She was so used to besting any opponent that came her way. Having one that surprised her, and having it be a human, made her wary.

She pulled herself off of the floor and she could feel her eyes turning red with anger. She'd given up on appearing regal and stoic now; she was pissed and she was going to show it. She bared her fangs and snarled.
"Sorry," she growled, brushing bits of concrete off her shoulders, "But I don't use weapons against humans. It goes against my morals."
She prowled around the room, her eyes never leaving Alex.
"You must find this all very amusing," she hissed, "You think it's justice to best me. To shame me and force me to submit. But it won't work Alex. Because no matter what you do to me, I will never willingly submit. Never."

"You want me to feel bad for you," she snarled, "You want me to tell you how sorry I am for what happened to you. But it's not going to work. You can't make me feel bad for you. Because I know what real suffering is Alex. You're how old? Eighteen? You think eighteen years of suffering is bad? Try two thousand."
"Two thousand!" she screamed, "Can you imagine what that's like Alex? You can't even begin to comprehend what a large stretch of time that is. How endless! And do you know how my life was like for two milleniums? It was full of war and suffering. Constant war because when you live forever, what else is there to do? That is how the immortals used to think. A thousand years of war and bloodshed. Killing and pain. You don't know what that's like. A thousand years is a very, very long time. But it get's better. Or shall I say worse? Because then there were the Burning Times for another five hundred years."
"You hate Demvolas because we degrade humans, but at least we don't hunt you down and murder you. Because that's what the humans used to do to us Alex. They used to hunt us down, torment us, and kill us. Some of my good friends were killed by humans. A werewolf friend of mine had silver powder poured down her throat, burning her from the inside out. A fey friend of mine was nailed to a wall by her wings and was tortured. I saw countless witches burned at the stake."
"But do you know what the humans did to me?" she asked, "While I was living in England I was captured. I'd been out during the day because I had needed to find blood. You know how the sunlight weakens vampires I'm sure. Well, these humans did too. They were soldiers. A whole lot of them captured me and kept me from struggling by pressing crosses against my skin. They brought me back to their fort where they stripped me and forced me into a tub of holy water. I can still remember how it burned. I was forced to stay in there for a week, outside, in the sunlight. Even with no one to hold me down, I was to weak to do anything. Eventually they took me out. And then bound my wrists and ankles with silver. They even made me wear a collar of silver. I was completly vulnerable. And you know what they did then? They raped me. They all took turns. There were no women around their fort so they resorted to that. I wanted to die. I thought I would. I only lived because they thought they killed me. They left me there to die. But when night rolled around, I regained some of my strength and was able to crawl away into the woods. I was found by a group of few who cared for me."
"But I'll never forget what those humans did to me," she went on, "It's been five hundred years and I still remember it like it was yesterday. I'll never forget. They tortured me and raped me. They wanted me to suffer. They wanted me to be humiliated. They wanted me to die slowly and painfully."
She gave Alex a shrewd look. "And you call us devils."

"You think I won't hurt you because you're giving yourself up," she snarled, "You're wrong."
She ran forward and struck a blow to his chest, sending him flying back into the wall. She stared at him with blood red eyes, panting and fuming.

"Oh for the love of Christ," she mumbled. She could say 'Christ' but not 'God.'
With a sigh, she considering picking him off the ground herself. But that wasn't something a queen would typically do, now was it? She went over to the door and rung the loud bell next to it. Moments later, a guard appeared.
Lithia pointed at Alex. Without affliction she said, "Take him to the infirmary."
The guard nodded and he looked smug as he went to go pick Alex off of the ground. He was probably amused, figuring that Lithia had bested the egotistical human. However, he didn't know what had really happened.
"Have someone come in here and get my things," she told the guard before he left, "I want my dress repaired."
He nodded and dissapeared.
She looked around the room for a second, blinked, and left. She walked silently and regally to Nicky's lounge (or as she sometimes called it in her mind, his play room) and walked inside.
Nicholas was sprawled out on the couch, napping, and Alerie was curled up by the window.
"Nicholas," she said plainly and immediatly he opened his eyes.
"Yes?" he asked, slowly getting up.
"Go tell the cooks I'd like to have steak for dinner," she instructed.
He looked confused but as usual, he did as he was told. He left the room without another word. Lithia turned to Alerie.
"Alerie," she said, "I'd like to speak with you now."
She drifted over to the couch and sat down. She hated this room. It didn't suit her at all. She was as old as dirt; new technologies and such were not her cup of tea. She preffered old fashioned things, like herself.
"Now, surely you have assumed that I have plans for you," she began, "I wouldn't of kept you around if I didn't. I'm not one for random acts of kindness. You should know that everything I do has a purpose behind it. So, what is this plan, you ask? Well, you know my human Nicholas I'm sure. Well, you may not know that I am deeply in love with him, and vice versa. The tragic part is that we can never have a real, full relationship if we're like this. As long as he's a human, he can never be anything more then my pet. So, some time in the very near future, I am going to turn him into a vampire."
"Vampires as you already know, drink blood. Now, long ago, my source of blood has been through hunting. Uck, completly unattractive activity hunting is. So when Haven City was founded I changed my means of getting energy. As I'm sure you know, in Haven City blood can be purchased for consumption. I used to do that . . . Until I got Nicholas that is. Seeing as you are not a vampire I doubt you can comprehend the monumental difference between processed blood and fresh blood. Fresh blood is world's better and I don't think I could go back to store bought blood after two years of feeding off Nicholas."
"Now what does any of this have to do with you, you ask?" she asked rhetorically, "Well, if Nicholas is a vampire, I can't feed off of him. Well, that's not true. I could. However, it wouldn't satisfy me. Besides, as a newborn, Nicholas will be plently thirsty enough. But back to you. If I can't drink Nicholas's blood, and I won't hunt it or buy it . . . Where will I get blood? From a new donor . . . And that new donor Alerie, is you."

"Hey Alex," he said, "What happened with you and Lithia before? She's acting kind of weird . . . Well not exactly weird for her. She just seems really angry . . ."

To he honest, Lithia had expected as much. She had hardly expected Alerie to take the news lightly. Even the unusually well trained Nicholas had been outraged at first by the thought of being her blood bag. But she had punished him and eventually, he submit to her.
"Now Alerie," she said, "Don't work yourself up. Truly you humans are dramatic creatures. Nicholas reacted similarly when I purchased him. He was born and raised in Demon Haven so he was used to our lifestyle. But still, like you, he resisted. I don't recommend it. Resist more if you wish, it won't do you any good. Just ask Nicholas. It didn't take long to teach him his place. And it won't take long to teach you your's. So, my suggestion to you child is to accept and make the best of this situation."

"In exchange for your freedom then?" she said, "Two years serving me and then you go free. Or would you rather I break you into eternal servitude. Personally, I prefer to make deals. Servants of any kind are more useful if they are driven, as opposed to defeated. Now, hypothetically speaking, if you were able to resist submitting, I would be forced to sell you and your life would be much harsher. If you stayed with me, you could enjoy many luxuries."
"So what is your choice Alerie?" she asked, "Serve me in exchange for your freedom from Haven City. Or let me break you into servitude for the rest of your life. Which will it be Alerie?"
