a character in “Demonkeeper”, as played by Wake

Description

Image
Name: Daisuke Takao
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Appearance: Daisuke has a bit of foreign heritage that is prominent in his appearance. Long brown hair and blue eyes, but nothing too outstanding. He does have the odd combination of a narrow shoulder width and long arms, making him appear thin and lanky. He does have a set of scars on his lip and chin, which he claims he got from a fist fight back in his teenage years, the other person he was fighting with apparently was wearing rings at the time.

Clothing: Daisuke prefers wearing sets of light gray, white and brown for his attire. During the office hours he tends to wear casual dress shirts that are usually untucked unless he is dealing with an important client.

Likes: Reading, cats, children, gardening, practicing alchemy (More of a hobby really)
Dislikes: Having his things in a mess, obnoxious noises, sweet meat, laziness
Weapon: Daisuke keeps a pistol strapped to his chest when he goes out. Takawa isn't always the safest place, and in his line of work having some protection is a must.

Personality: Daisuke has always had a pleasant kind hearted if quiet attitude. He puts up an air of relaxed energy, though at times he tends to go into his own little world and act seemingly indifferent to the people around him. This isn't because he is trying to be rude by ignoring them (though that can be the case at times) but more because of his ability to become inured to just about anything thrown his way. He does have a dry wit and is known to be a bit sarcastic, generally ribbing on others occasionally. He can be provoked, especially if someone he knows is being harassed, at which point can get vengeful until he finds away to pay back the person that ticked him off.
Alignment: Neutral
Background: Daisuke was very shy as a child and was often bullied, until he made a friend that slowly brought him out of his shell. As he grew up he started to gain the desire to help people and eventually earned a reputation as someone dependable. When he became an adult he opened an office called "The Odd Jack" and began working as a jack-of-all-trades man. During a time when he was having a small financial crisis, he came across an old tome about demon rituals and, thinking it to be a joke, ended up contacting an actual demon by the name of Zimmont. Since then his operations have expanded to include work involving supernatural elements, in which Daisuke has operated off a concept of Favors. The general idea having been "If I do a favor for you, then eventually I will call on you to do a favor for me."

So begins...

Daisuke looked up, and pressed a finger to his lips to indicate a brief need for quite to his long time friend. A phone was held firmly to the side of his head. He made several sounds of "mhmm" as he listened to the speaker on the other side of the line. On a metal perch next to him, a large black bird looked up and glowered at Aiko, none to happy at having it's nap interrupted. It snorted and closed it's eyes again, apparently trying it's best to ignore the other occupants in the office.

"Yes well I'll come over later this evening and see what I can do. How does 9 o'clock sound?." Daisuke paused for the other persons response. "Alright then, see you tonight." He put the phone down and stretched. "Sorry about that, had someone asking about making a delivery job for tonight. How are you Aiko?"

"Yes, a love between murderous psychopaths, how romantic." Daisuke said dryly. There was another snort and a caw from the bird. A deep, disembodied voice spoke.

"Another cult book? What have I told you about that child?" It growled at Aiko. The bird flapped it's wings and repositioned itself to a better vantage point on its perch. "I hope you haven't actually tried an of the spells listed within. Even just reading demonic incantations can be dangerous, yet you still try to browse through them without preparation. Where do you even find these blasted things in the first place?" Zimmont, as usual, was in a foul mood. He was annoyed with being put up for more handy work for the day by Daisuke. The petty task he was being put through felt demeaning to the wrath of old. Silently he lamented on when Daisuke had summoned him in the first place. Had conditions for their meeting been different, or any other demon been summoned, it would have been likely that the man simply would have had his head torn off by the demon in question in a fit of annoyance.

Daisuke, who had been reading the letter during Zimmont little vent, made a confused face. "Don't interfere with what!?" He exclaimed. Zimmont paused to stare back at the man. Daisuke, remembering that their were other people in the room, laughed nervously and shoved the letter into his shirt pocket. "Oh sorry. It's nothing. Just some stupid prank letter."

Mr Gato was grumpy, oh yes he was, of course was useless to try to figure out why it, he was just grumpy, who needs a reason to be in a bad mood? at least Mr Gato didn't need one, he never need one.

Trelàs instead was happy it was a good day but even if weren't he would be still happy, like the puppet on his little left hand he didn't need a reason to be happy, the problem was that when Mr Gato were upset he don't let him read the manga he loved so much, the plushie size demon decided to approach the main office where others should be together, maybe they could help him.

"He make his way through the crappy office as fast as his pathetic and small body allowed him, there were gathered the fools to do their nonsense" Mr Gato decided that a narrative was appropriate when he saw the group was gathered.

"Mr Gato you're rude" the cat puppet was scolded by the little Trelàs.

"You are also a fool! Fools don't know they are fools until someone tells them, everyone should be thank me besides if I don't speak they wouldn't even notice we're here" Mr Gato pretended to be offended, what considering he was made of cloth and can't change facial expression was hard.

Trelàs pouted and approached the girl, raised his arms hoping that she could lift him up, something he didn't like was seeing others from the ground, was the only drawback he found since ventured into the human world and was forced to take this form.

"You did what!" Zimmont shouted once Aiko explained where she got the book and what she did with it. But She already excused herself to go to the restroom before he could say anything more to her. In the mean time Daisuke noticed Trelàs waving his arms in the air, his usual sign for wanting to be picked up. Apparently the little child like creature had gone unnoticed by Aiko. Daisuke reached down and raised the younger of the two office demon onto his desk, where he could partake in their conversation more.

"Hey Zimmont," Daisuke started. "Do you know anything about someone named Sahariel?" The crow wraith stopped it's fuming for a moment. "That's a name I haven't heard in a long time. The name belongs to one of the fallen messengers that was banished to the underworld. Where did you hear that name from? Last I heard Sahariel doesn't bother with the human world very often."

"Well..." Daisuke scratched the back of his head as he stared down at the black bird, not sure how to put it. Really it was a little hard to believe that a high ranking officer from the underworld had just sent him a threat letter. However Daisuke didn't want to say it out loud, not with Aiko around to hear it, less she get worried.

"I'll... tell you later. Look can I ask you to keep a close eye on Aiko?" Zimmont blinked at the request, and asked. "Why?"

"Just do it for now. I can't say more or she might hear." Zmmont kept a long judging stare leveled at the man, and Daisuke knew that the black bird wasn't going to let it go. However he was saved by the sound of Aiko returning from the restroom. "Daisuke. Why were you a bit jumpy just now? What did the letter say?" She asked. To this, he found himself on the spot for a question he couldn't answer for the same reasons. He could only scratch his head and utter a stalling "Um..." before Zimmont stepped in.

"More importantly I want a look at that book of yours. And what exactly do you mean you used one of the spells to try an locate a demon!? I told you not to use any magic without showing it to me first to verify it's safety! What if this Baphomet had sense your probing and traced it back to you? Or someone else? Do you know what could have happened then?" Daisuke relaxed as Zimmont started to rant to Aiko, appreciating the subject change. While the elder demon continued to lecture Aiko over proper safety with dark magic, Daisuke turned to the diminutive Trelàs. "And what did you need my little man?"

The little demon felt rejected when the girl went and left him to go to the bathroom, how could she be so selfish? luckily the friendly owner of the office lift him like an old rag and put him on the desk where he heard the conversation waiting his turn to speak.

"Look humans talking about demon affairs" Mr Gato spoke, Trelàs silenced him with a finger in his mouth, it was an important conversation in which he hadn't the slightest interest, the selfish girl came out of the bathroom and asked nonsense but was quickly scolded by the crow, apparently she had done something wrong.
Trelàs's eyes were filled with compassion and understanding but Mr Gato said aloud "He should rip off her eyes," the small one formed a expression of surprise and disapproval for that statement but said nothing, it wasn't fault of Mr Gato he just was in a bad humor.

Now It was his turn to speak, at least Daisuke's question made him belive that was the right moment so Trelàs hastened to tell his problems, "Mr Gato is grumpy" he said, raising his left hand where lay the cat puppet that maintained him 'sane' during his chibi form.

"I can't help it, I found that was made with the fabric of the pants of a murderer!" complained tragically the puppet.

"Really?" terrified of the abomination that would possibly be carrying everywhere.

"No fool, besides fabric is just fabric" mocked mercilessly, he indeed was grumpy.

"Help me" begged with puppy dog eyes the demon with the trait of madness, he had five minutes worthy of energy, since he can change for about a minute for day that mean that he hasn't changed to his true form for five days by now and was thinking that maybe Mr Gato was in a bad mood because of that, but when it comes to Mr Gato rarely there is a reason for something

Zimmont muttered irritably about Aiko's flippancy towards the unfathomable dark secrets she toyed with. Grumbling to himself he flipped the book open with his beack and started reading through the pages. Daisuke, silently watching the elder demon out of the corner of his eye, wondered to himself if Zimmont really was that much of a grouch or if he was actually worried. He honestly did seem like a grumpy old grandpa at times.

Turning back to Trelàs, Daisuke leaned in toward the younger of the demons inhabiting the office. "Oh and what is Mister Gato grumpy about? If you're not to careful you might end up turning into an old man like Zimmont." A short caw of annoyance behind him signaled said demon had heard that statement. Daisuke ignored him while keeping pleasant face toward Trelàs and his little puppet. If Zimmont was the old man of the office, then Daisuke saw the diminutive Trelàs as the little kid. Cute, adorable, and seemingly very innocent. Of course Daisuke had seen the little creature take it's true form before and knew that wasn't.... exactly the case. But still he liked talking to the little child like creature. "Maybe you're just a little stir-crazy. Being stuck in the office all day must be boring after all. What do you say we find something to do together and see if that gets Mr. Gato out of his mood? Ne?"

Mr Gato tried in vain to scratch the face of the young owner of the office, in first place his hands were very short, considering they were about the size of the fingers of the small demon and second he was made of cloth and had no claws, but despite everything he tried, in part because he don't know if he can do something if he don't try but mainly beacuse he didn't like the comments that he'll end up like the old crow, he hated crows, crows killed his entire family in a dream he had once, the small Trelàs wondered if a lifeless puppets could dream although the response was more than obvious, but even so that's the reason because Mr Gato hate the crow, nothing more nothing less.

When Daisuke vowed to find something they could do together the face of the little one lit up at the prospect, considering that at first he was just looking for a way to make that Mr Gato leave him read a manga quiet the idea of the human was much better.

"Really?, I'd love to! Long time that I do something!" it wasn't all that long but still did a couple of hops of happiness.

"Who would want to do something with a human!" complained Mr Gato but quickly added, "Well if you insist I could go" and looked away with his arms crossed.

Trelàs knew what it was, he had read in a manga before was what they called Tsundere, Mr Gato passed from being grumpy to being a Tsundere, chuckling the little one said
"What can we do?"
