Demons of Typhoon City

Demons of Typhoon City

0 INK

Typhoon City has been shut down due to a series of brutal mass murders. You can pick from four major sides- The Police force, The Scientists, The Demons, or the Occultists. Each has their own agenda and part to play in this inter-dimensional screw up.

1,655 readers have visited Demons of Typhoon City since Crystal Blood created it.

Introduction

(!NEW!) ATTENSION!!!!!! Not a big deal, but could people try and get profile pics up? I know some of you have images in ur bio and everything, thats great but. But could you please also get a 100x100 version of it for the character avatar? Just makes it easier to remmber who is who. Kay thanks :D

Sheet lighting momentarily illuminates the city, then darkness surges in. Thousands of streetlamps and search lights glow throughout the city, glistening in the torrential downpour. The city is currently on lock down. A series of brutal murders, disappearances, and massacres have plagued the city, not to mention a rash of sever paranoia. Road blocks surround the city; police officers endlessly patrol the boarder while commerce is barely surviving. All outside communication has been cut off; Typhoon City is a black hole. Anything that ventures in- doesn’t come out. The city people manage to continue their daily lives as best they can; making due with the supplies the military brings them. Until the perpetrators are caught, no one can leave.

Location: Typhoon City. Caught in a seasonal storm, Typhoon city is windy, wet and dark. During the day the sun barely breaks through the clouds and the city is trapped in impenetrable fog. All building either above or underground tunnels that connect them, very few people venture out on the streets.
Date: 2060
Plot summary: Existing unknown to the majority of the world is a parallel dimension, recently in Typhoon City scientists have been experimenting in opening gates in-between them. What they let out are vicious, human like creature. Bringing with them infectious paranoia. While not particularly evil, they do need to eat and humans are most readily available. They are mostly ill-tempered with a disregard for human life, though human like in anatomy most sport some kind of deformity making them look bestial. They have been forced into hiding as the city shut down and the military is searching for them.

Factions

Scientist: The people who managed to open the gate to the other dimension. Not wanting to be held responsible for the carnage that ensued, they now conduct their experiments in secret. With a few remaining test subjects they are desperately trying to figure out how to control the beasts they summoned.

Demons: The other worldly creatures who crossed the gate into Typhoon City. While intelligent, they are vicious and brutal. Constantly hunting for food, while others cause destruction for fun. They share a common brotherhood and are mostly civil with one another, also known to occasionally work together and travel in pairs, though they are not beyond fighting with one another.

Humans: Any and everybody trapped inside the city.

Occultists: Working along the same lines as the scientists, these people have delved into the writings of Demonology, and using it managed to open a gate to the Second World. Unlike the scientists, some of these magicians have managed to bend the β€œdemons” to their will be use of complicated seals and signs.

Government: Any member of the military, police force, etc… who is working to contain these crimes and locate the criminals. They are constantly searching for these monsters and yet always seem to fail at capturing them. They patrol the city and are first to arrive at the scene of the crime.
____________________________________________________

*Major Places*

Police HQ: Currently the headquarters for all government activity in Typhoon City. It is a particularly large building, but it has about a dozen and a half squad cars as well as two dozen motorcycles.

MARS Corp. Labs: One of the largest industries in Typhoon City, MARS Corp. provided nearly a quarter of the jobs in Typhoon City... But recently they are letting people go left and right. Also- some of the employers their have gone missing. MARS Corp. is a huge white building with half a dozen smoke stacks and a giant power plant in the back. Most of it is office space, but underneath the building is a complex maze like system of labs and testing areas. this part of the building is completely off limits, except for specialized personal. The police have been keeping their eye on MARS Corp. for a few years now, suspecting that they have been dumping toxic waste in the Harbor.

St. Marks: An out of the way little church, it has been there forever- and no one knows exactly what goes on inside. For the most part it seems abandoned, but occasionally the doors will be open and you can here some kind of sermon happening. Recently, the police have been suspicious of the goings on there, the church community has feverishly fought against the government's intervention, and in the end the police didn't have enough proof for a search warrant. They mostly suspected that the church was a place for drug trafficking, but have yet to prove it.

Capitol: The Capital building of Typhoon City, it is large and impressive. Recently though, it has been opened up as a shelter for homeless people. The Mayor lives here, but is on constant surveillance. He has not been able to leave his room for the past months. this is the secondary HQ for the police force, often holding emergency meetings here to decide the next course of action.

East Shore Harbor: Once a major port, East Shore has no been completely shut down. The docks are abandoned, except for the constant patrolling officers. East Shore is the most likely way of escape for the criminals at large. But right now, with the seasonal currents- it would be suicide.

Route 33 and 54: These major sections of the highways are completely deserted. No cars travel here any more. Where the Highways pass in to the city are major blockades to stop anyone from entering. This is also where the supplier trucks drop off the emergency provisions.

Okay, so background stuff aside. PM if you have questions.

This is important, I'm not going to (for the most part), be GMing this. The conflict should arise naturally if we have characters from all different faction. Everyone has competing agendas, so this game should work itself. So, don't have a character who is friends with everybody. You should have one or two allies. Also, if you would liek to be a LEADER of one of the faction just stick a note in your application. (AKA: Police cheif, Mayor, Head Preist ETC...)

ATTENSION! anyone can make up NPCs to fill in the roles we don't have or roles we need. If you would like to be the only to control a spesific NPC just mention so in your post, otherwise anyone can control it- but everyone needs to use common sense in this aspect. It should be obvious who is mainly controling who.

Beyond the thick stone walls of the ancient church, the rain beat a low constant beat, punctuated occasionally by bursts of thunder. The streets beyond were flooded, torrents cascaded into the gutters that lined all the major highways and roads. Any trace of dirt that hadn't already been washed away by previous storms was now mud. Typhoon City, aptly named, was a tempest on land. This would be the worst month for storms in Typhoon City, and the month had just begun. No one dared step foot beyond the walls of their waterproof houses, and the unfortunate cars that had been left parked on the road were mostly overturned. In the the dim light of the street lamps, you could see rivers where streets used to be, filled with garbage and trash. Then, with a flicker, all the street light went out. Black out.

Absolom listened to all this noise, deep from within St. Mark's Church. In the moment of the black out, somewhere a fluorescent light died. It had been the only source of light deep within the catacombs and cells of the church basement. Absolom fidgeted, the darkness actually suited his eye sight better. But seeing, in no way improved his predicament.

He had been banished, he accepted that. He had been glad to escape, but his entrance here had been right into the arms of "the occultists". And so, here he was. Shackles cutting into his arms and legs, gaping wounds across his chest, and strange symbols burnt on his body. It didn't hurt, he didn't feel pain, they had only forced him into submission by pure exhaustion. Eventually the blood loss had delepeted his oxygen levels by so much he had almost passed out. That was when they took their chance to brand him. Past that point, he'd heard nothing from the strange priests. He wasn't sure how time passed here, so he had no way to judge to long it been. Too long, was all he could conclude.

While Absolom could not feel pain, the one thing the priests were most definitely depriving him of was food... flesh. The lust for carnage was the closest thing absolom knew to pain. His mind, which at the beginning had been thinking and rational, was being to become overwhelmed by his need. Everyday, Absolom was becoming more beast like. Straining at his bonds one last time, Absolom shouted into the darkness. The words were unintelligible, but the message was perfectly clear.

A tall dark figure stared down at his hunting ground from a high apartment building that had been abandoned. The storm created the perfect setting for the demon that lurked above, smiling whenever the thunder rumbled. He had missed the days when his prey were oblivious to his existence. He had been in Typhoon City for a year, which was more than enough time for the demon to know the city as well as the citizens who dwell in it. Kai heard the echoing sound of a faint scream in the distance that caused his ears to twitch slightly.

Someone must have been caught, I guess I should go for the steal.

Kai turned his body, his wet silver hair swishing back and forth. His body then moved fluently as he maneuvered from building to building, heading the direction of the sound that called to him.

The church is this way, I hope the screaming isn't coming from there. I'm not in the mood to deal with the Cultists.

They had been the ones who brought him to this world. He had been accidentally summoned by some kid who had no idea what he was doing. Kai had hated this world at first, but the plentiful food satisfied him. The one thing he missed from his home, was his weapon, and the amount of land his family had control over.

The washed out streets of Typhoon City lay empty, as always. People had always avoided walking during the frequent, powerful storms that racked the city all the time, making it more a water world than a human habitat. Even less people walked the streets nowadays, due to the new threat of being assaulted and likely killed by the new residents of the city; demons. Mai's hometown had turned into a place that she would once have thought to only be a setting to a cheesy horror flick. In a movie, it would have been the setting to a cheesy horror flick, but this wasn't a horror flick. This was real, and the first thing Mai had learned with the demons was that this new reality was in no way "cheesy." She had heard horrendous tales about what demons did to those that they caught. The tales were always bloody and violent, death always coming slowly but inevitably to a poor human who had wandered the streets or had gone by himself to the bathroom. You might think just this would make the streets entirely deserted, but this wasn't always the case. Mai, for one, still used the streets as much as she like, not seeming to care about her life.

In truth, there were many things at work that made Mai wander the streets. One was the fact that, even after hearing all the horrible stories of what happened to men (and women) who crossed demons, she had never actually met one herself. This led to a little it of denial about the fact that she would ever meet one. Another was the fact that she felt she still had to proceed with her life, even with all the bad happening around her, and you needed to walk to go forward. But, really, the main reason she walked the cold and damp streets of the city was because she liked doing it. She like the rain, like the cold, liked the thunder cracking around her. She liked the dark, liked the streets, and like the wind howling into the night. Even she thought this was crazy, but she couldn't control that part of herself any more than one could control how they breath; it just came natural to her, and she just couldn't always fight it. She had to go out, she had to stroll the streets, just like she was tonight. On this particular night the rain was nice and light, as was the normally ferocious winds. Thunder stilled rumbled at regular intervals, and lightning cracked upon some of the taller buildings nearby, but, all in all, the weather was better than usual. Mai had felt good for most of the night so far, and she figured it would be no different for the rest. But she was wrong. A sudden twist in her stomach made her look around nervously before continuing on, then looked around again as the feeling coursed through her a second time. The sudden sound of strange footfalls from close by told her exactly what it was. It was her first demon. As she spun around, something hit her side, sending her sliding across the perpetually wet asphalt and cement and into a building on the other side of the road. The world quickly started to dim, and even through her groggy thought process she knew she was doomed. As everything faded to black, she felt a faint prick in her arm as a silhouette passed across the remaining light that could be registered by her eyes. It was only a heartbeat later that she was out cold.

Richter pulled out his cellphone, leaning over the body of a bloody demon. It had been fairly easily caught, even for a mere low-class demon. This particular demon had been distracted by his dinner, and oblivious to him as he had come from behind. With the element of surprise, it had gone down with less of a fight that they normally would have; that didn't mean to much, though. He glanced over at a body of the girl/attempted dinner, then shook his head. He flipped out his cell phone and spoke with authority. "Get over to the docks now. I just acquired a new test subject, and I want to get him out of here ASAP so he doesn't make a mess in the lab." As he shut his cell phone, he grabbed the demon with a hand to hoist him over his shoulder like a sack. The docks weren't too far away.

Kanakuru stood on the roof of one of the city's tallest buildings, despite the danger of a lightning bolt striking him. The wind was stronger higher up and his hair billowed around him as if they had a life of their own. He crossed his arms and looked down to the streets. There were a few Demons whizzing about and the odd human risking their lives, other than that nothing caught his attention. He turned his attention back to the mass of flesh and bones behind him. Walking past it, he pulled his sabre free of the human's mangled body and selected a building, quite close to the one he was currently on. With a short run up and a leap he jumped the gap and landed on it.

Upon landing he soon regretted it. From the higher building, the roof appeared concrete, but in fact it was glass. Kanakuru went straight through and fell about two-storeys before landing in some sort of swimming pool or indoor pond. As he hoisted himself out of the water he snarled at his own stupidity. No doubt the whole building would be awake now. He fished his sabre out of the water and got out his crossbow with his other hand. He saw a large vase in the corner of the room and jumped inside.
Several minutes passed, but no one came. He slowly removed himself from the vase and crept down a nearby corridor. It was the longest corridor in history. Door after door went by with the odd wall hanging or potted plant, but he heard no sound from any of the doors.
Some other Demon must have got here first... He thought.
He eventually came to a large stained glass window, depicting St. Mark, which looked out onto the Church of St. Mark. Kanakuru's ears picked up shouting originating from the Church. Breaking one of the larger panes of glass, which just so happened to be St. Mark's face, he watched with the eye of a hawk. He knew that someone else would get there first, but hey, he enjoyed the competition. Let someone else wear themselves out doing all the hard work.

Lann relaxed in the lower levels of the St. Marks Church. Not the catacombs or the basements, but the occoltist rooms. Really it wasn't any place to be doing any relaxing, but Lann happened to like it down there. The books, the musty air the half-lit rooms, and the walls covered in practice sealsand those made for traps. It really gave lff a nice aura to it. Lann had a book open but really he wasn't reading. He was thinking. About demons in general and the one chained a few doors away. And as if on cue the beast gave out a scream. Good, try to come and kill me, Lann thought. All the more reason I need to know as much as I can. But something had been... off recently. He put down the book and stood up. why were there so many demons? Unless some members were disobeying their direct orders to not using the gateway without his consent... Did someone else have a gateway? That would make things interesting. It would make it a much more real senario for what he was thinking. Typhoon City was merely his playground.

Lann walked up some stairs seemingly leading to nowhere and drew a quick symbol on the wall and shoved it open. As he exited he closed it, redrawing the same symbol backwards. He really had to decide what to do with that demon. It was one of the most powerful specimens that the occoltists had seen. It almost seemed too... feral to be tamed. Something just didn't seem right with it. Speaking of, Lann extended his senses slightly and quickly found Arath, who was prowling around upstairs. Oh, well. It seemed like they had visitors. He exited the small halway that had two doors and the secret wall in it and turned the corner into the main hall. He silently glid over to the the front of the pews and looked at the demon in indifference. After standing there Lann spoke in his guise of a preist. "It is not wise to violate church property, child."

Lilliana awoke in a strange place. Everything around her was blurry and a blackness was webbed around her vision. Her head throbbed and her body ached. She tried to get up and look around, but she couldn't move. The pain was too great. The pain in her stomache was greater than all the other pain she felt. She managed to look down at her own body, it was bloodied up. She screamed when she saw her stomache, it was ripped open with her intestines everywhere. Blood was scattered on everything around her, she screamed again knowing it was hers. She kept screaming, and screaming. She tried moving again and again, but her movement failed every time. Just then, a strong hand was put over her mouth.
"Sshhhh, you'll be okay little one. You'll be okay..." The stranger said gently.
Lilliana stopped thrashing and screaming then, and slowly slipped back into darkness...

~~~
Lilliana woke up again, but this time she felt powerful. She could tell she was in a different place without even opening her eyes. Which was weird, because that had never happened to her before. Her eyes fluttered open and there was a demon standing right above her. She jumped in surprise and squealed. He just looked at her with sincere-somber eyes. She turned around and ran away, scared out of her wits and very disoriented. Seeing as she ran without looking, she charged head on into a wall. She expected there to be tremendous pain, but there was nothing. When she looked up, there was a huge dent in the cement wall. She watched as crumbled pieces of it fell to the floor. Lilliana stood there in shock, not knowing what to do. When she looked down at herself, she had on a different set of clothes. Not something she would wear, but it fit her just right. Her skin was a lot more pale than before. Her short silky blue hair was still in place, but it was dirty and matted with blood. What happened to her?
She hugged herself and held back tears, that's when she felt something strange on her back. She felt around and realized they were wings. Instictively, she moved a new muscle in her body and fluttered them. This certainly could not have happened over night... How long was she out for? Why was she like this? What happened?
She whipped her head around to the demon on the other side of the room and stormed over.
"This was your doing! Why am I like this? Huh! Why me!?" Lilliana accused frusterated and confused.
She walked straight up to him and put her face right in the the demon's face. He stood completely still, still looking at her with those somber eyes. He didn't move a muscle, or even breathe, or blink. He did not answer her, but he just kept looking at her.
"Don't look at me like that! Answer me! Answer me right now!" She started to break down and cry, "I just want to know... what the hell happened to me... please..."
Not much time seemed to have past, the lights had yet to come back on and the water seeping in had increased, but nothing of note had happened since Absolom last vented his anger. At that moment, Absolom blinked, the sudden movement awoke the rest of his body. He hadn't been "sleeping" per se, but he could feel his heart beat speeding up and his breathing patterns change. He'd been in some kind of stasis he supposed. The rain sounded lighter, though rain was not something Absolom had ever experienced personally. From his recollection the demon world had mostly been desserts and sandy cliffs; though he was sure it varied in other parts. Sand storms had been the worst natural disaster he had yet to experience, and from the sounds outside, Absolom was aware of how dangerous this "water storm", most be. Also, the damp pooling water in the leaky catacombs gave him an indication of what was going on beyond this "holy" sanctuary.
With all the time Absolom had spent sulking in the darkness, he had recently noticed the complex symbols etched into the stone floor around him, all out of reach by several feet. In a desperate attempt to keep his sanity, Absolom had been busy trying to read them, this project ultimately failed. In frustration, Absolom spit in the direction of the cell bars, to his surprise, the projectile burst into flames as it passed the invisible boundary formed by the symbols. That answered all his major questions. He began to puzzle how, even if he broke his chains, could he even possibly pass this "cage". He couldn't see how, considering what it did to a little spit. He may not feel pain, but his flesh burning off his bones would probably leave him indisposed. His thoughts extended, even if, by chance, another demon came to his aide, it was unlikely they could pass by the runes either...
Somewhere beyond in the chapel, Absolom could hear a man's voice, and sensed another demon at least, but beyond the temple he could feel nothing. He presumed the whole building had magical seals that separated it from the outside world. It was likely, he extrapolated, that only "authorized" demons could probably even set foot on the ground without experiencing extreme pain (not all demon were immune like him). These occultists were more devious than he had originally given them credit for.
Through this long stream of consciousness, Abby had not noticed the rise in the water level. What had originally just been large puddle on the floor was now becoming an inch deep sheet of water around him. At first he snarled and lashed, but soon gave up. Above him the old concrete crumbled, and water began flowing through. Completely soaked now, Absolom leaned back against the wall; this would all have to end eventually. He'd have his revenge.
Richard awoke to a constant dripping on his head. He sighed. "Must be raining again," he said to himself. They didn't call this place Typhoon City for nothing. To most people, rain like this would make their heads spin. But when you've lived here for so long...this is nothing. Just the everyday thing. He got out of his bed, and looked around the bleak room. The wallpaper had peeled off the walls, leaving a gray dullness. There was no electricity, this apartment had been abandoned ever since they came. One of the very first killings happened here - the killing of his own brother, Charlie, which happened in his own apartment. He stays here because, other than his family's house, this is the only place he knew. Sometimes he would stay for the night with his brother, before all of this started to happen.
Richard left home yesterday. His mother wouldn't let him leave home, said it was too dangerous. Charlie didn't even have a funeral because his mother was so afraid to leave the house (even though it wouldn't be that much of a funeral anyway. A bunch of people crowded together was never a good idea). So he had to leave himself. He left a long note tell them not to look for him - not like they could anyway. She probably tried to inform the police, but they probably have other stuff to attend to by now. If only the rain would let up, he could go do what he wanted to do. Oh well, if it wasn't gone by tomorrow, he would just have to go out in the rain anyway. He got up groggily, and went into the living room. There was a crimson red couch in there. Richard fell back down on it, and went back to his nightmares.
The demon was there, around a hazy ring of fire. Three scars across his chest, dark red eyes, and the most yellow and disgusting teeth he had ever seen. Richard remembered the teeth the most, and his crooked, twisted smile as he took the life of Charlie. The look on his face was one you'd see on a child that just got a new race car. He had nightmares like this every night, no exceptions. This time the demon was killing Charlie over and over again right in front of Richard's eyes. And every time he looked more and more happy. "Stop it, you monster!" cried Richard. He tried to move towards the demon, but his feet were stuck to the ground. Eventually, the demon looked towards him, and without hesitation, jumped towards him. Richard tried to shoot it, but his arms were stuck. He let out a cry as the demon moved his claws towards Richard's chest...
Richard jolted up from the couch. Is this heaven? He thought, looking around. No, it was the same old apartment. It was still pouring outside. He sighed - he was still trapped in his own nightmare. He rested his head on the end of the couch, and rustled restlessly to sleep again.
Light slowly returned to Mai's vision, making her wonder. Was it possible? Was she really still alive? More feeling and sight returned to her, and she realized that the clothes she had been wearing, her old school uniform, was completely soaked through. That's what happens when you lay out in the streets, she supposed. She forced herself up onto wobbly legs, knowing that just laying there was most likely a death sentence. It was rather incredible to still be alive, in her opinion. Most people's first encounter with a demon also turned into their last. In fact, she didn't know why she was still alive at all. It made no sense that a demon would attack her then leave her in one piece. Someone must have saved her, for some reason, or the demon had decided that there were much larger fish in the ocean. After all, Mai might have been fifteen, but her body was still like a little kid's. Probably not enough for most demons unless they were starved. Still, there was no reason to chance fate. She kept moving.
Where was she headed? That was as good a question as any. She didn't even know where she wanted to go yet, so she was just letting her feet take her where they would. That place, as it turned out, was the police station, somewhere she knew well, or at least had before the outbreak. She knew many of the police officers from the time she had disappeared of the face of the Earth, or so it had seemed. She didn't remember anything from the three month block she had gone missing, but there had been a huge search for her, apparently. Even the FBI had been called in to help, something she was sure was not standard practice on a simple missing persons case. Not that she was complaining; it had been the FBI who had found her, inside of a shipping crate down at the docks. Whatever had happened, no one knew, but theories of a slave ring or a serial kidnapper popped up now and again. Mai had been in and out of the police station so often that she knew it like her own house. The investigation had been ongoing, and was looking bright, until the demons had first struck the unsuspecting city. When that happened, all other cases were dropped, and understandably so. After all, how could you still work on petty crimes when there were maneaters running about?
Vincent watched as the poor girl collapsed to her knees and cried. He kept up his serious facade, but still felt compassion for her. He had been through the same few days of pain himself. The transformation from human to demon was brutal. He paid no attention to her accusations, because he knew she was only acting like this out of confusion. He would've acted the same way if he hadn't known he was becoming a demon. The girl was still crying. He sighed softly and bent down to her level, putting his hand gently on her back. He had saved her from certain death. A rabid, starved demon was about to eat her alive, but he stopped it just in time. Her guts had been splayed everywhere, it was almost too late. He didn't know what to do, he couldn't have just left her there. So Vincent mimicked what the demon that turned him did to him years ago. He punched a whole in her chest, lifted out her heart, and bit it. He wasn't sure if that was the only way, but that's how it happened to him and it worked. Of course, Vince didn't do it as violently as it was done to him. He sliced open her skin, making two small flaps that opened into her chest, then removed some of her ribs so he could carefully lift out her heart. He didn't almost devour her heart either, though it was tempting. The most temptation he ever had, in fact. Instead he bit into to it just so that his teeth fully sank in then quickly took them out. After he placed her heart back into her chest, he closed her up, wrapped his jacket around her tightly, and swiftly carried her to his well hidden home. He's been watching over her ever since then. It has been five days total. The girl only woke up and started screaming once out of those five days. He had expected her to do that more.
"You'll be fine, " Vincent assured her softly, "Just rest now. I know this is scary and confusing. I know how you feel. I won't hurt you though, I promise. Can I have your name?"
~~~

Lilliana

She collapsed onto her knees and cried into her hands uncontrollably. This demon was of no help to her at the moment. He just stood there and watched her. For a few minutes it looked like he didn't care at all, and that he was in deep thought. Then he knelt down beside her and started comforting her. He looked so kind now, and she saw the unerstanding in his eyes. Lilliana couldn't help but believe him. This demon was actually... sane. He seemd so compassionate. Which was not a normal trait for a demon. However, there was something about him that was distant. Like earlier when he put up an aura of seriousness, acting like he didn't care. Now she knew that he certainly did care, and that he wasn't a horrible beast. Surely he had not done this to her. Right?

Lilliana wiped her eyes and sniffled a few times. She then smiled sincerely at him through bleary eyes, "I-I'm Lilliana, and I believe you. What is your name?"

Kanakuru stood stock still, like a bird of prey watching a rabbit hole, but nothing exited the Church. He saw them drag something in, human shaped, but little else happened. He was about to abandon his watch when he saw a flash of light through one of the huge windows. He couldn't make out much, the whole place appeared to be covered in hexes and portents, but he didn't need his Demonic sight to see inside, just telescopic.
He saw a few of the cultists walking about, the whole building appeared to be covered in runes from roof to floor. So much protection, it seemed a bit overkill.
I'm wasting my time here. He thought.

As Kanakuru turned around he sensed something moving at the end of the corridor. Instinctively he flattened himself against the nearest wall. There was a door on his right. He tried the handle. Unlocked, perfect. He walked inside; the room had no living objects inside it. There was a bed and a small TV. Must be some sort of hotel. He moved to the wall and, as quietly as anybody could, broke the wall down. Needless to say, it wasn't that quiet. He moved into an identical next room and went to the door. With his ear pressed up against it he listened.

Footsteps. He kicked the door down and crushed the stalker. Thinking it was dead, he moved down the corridor, away from the window. The door leapt up and hit Kanakuru, knocking him to the floor. He rolled over to see that it was a Demon who had been stalking him. Probably some lowly bottom feeder pushing his luck. Kanakuru charged at him, Sabre drawn.

Sadly it turned out that the Demon didn't weigh much and his Sabre pierced him right through but didn't stop or slow Kanakuru's momentum and they both went flying out of the high window. They landed on an abandoned van, going straight through the roof and landing inside. The Demon was dead, but Kanakuru wasn't too badly hurt, probably a broken rib or two and a few mashed fingers, nothing that wouldn't regenerate. He struggled to pull his Sabre free from the corpse.
"Hands up!" Came a voice from outside the van. Kanakuru turned, one foot on the dead Demon's chest, both hands on his Sabre. He saw about seven policemen, all armed to the teeth.
Kanakuru looked up at the sky. This just isn't my day... He thought.

John Marston looked at the cab window at the three story building. "Thank you. I guess this is the HQ." He gets out in his rain slicker and tips the cabbie a few dollars. "Have a good night." he says as he walks up to the door. 'Wow...they said I'd feel at home at the new office building. Didn't know it look so much like the FBI HQ. just add about 53 stories and your good.' he thought.

He walks in and is greeted by the dispatcher. "Hello miss. I'm here representing the Federal Bureau of Investigation," he pulls his green orders folder out of his little suitcase that as all his gear and gives it to her. "I have orders that give me access to all your records, officers, any rooms i may need, and all your help." He gives her his best 'I'm happy to be here' smile, which he probably messed up, and asks "Where in this building can I have the best view of the city? and can you page the other officers and tell them we will be having a meeting in the meeting room around midnight tonight? I'd like every one there."

L'sar walked down the lonely sidewalk of downtown Typhoon City, cassualy dragging her claws along the biuldings. Each clawed finger made a long, large gashe. These scars went on for five blocks. L'sar glanced up at the sky, it was still dark and tumlutous. While the darkness and rain gave good cover, it was washing away all the smells. She'd been tracking anther demon for weeks, but with no luck. She didn't really care, but other demons were more of a challange than humans. And if they dind't kill each other maybe they could become partners, or at least friendly rivals.

While L'sar did enjoy carnage (thus her nick name), her favorite pasttime was making a profit. She enjoyed the buying and selling, and ripping off occsionaly. It made her more powerful when other demons were dependant on her supply. And she had found some great supplies. It was a funny white powder she'd picked up off an old man she'd killed on the street. It was nothing like the drugs in her world. Now, she just needed a buyer.

Eventauly the biu;dings ended and her claws hit glass. There was a screech, then a crack and the glass burst. L'sar curiously stuck her head in side. the walls were lined with bottles... this would be her new base of opperation.

Shabriri flew amidst the darkness. He hadn't really killed anyone since before the other demons started showing up, but that was alright. A kill here and there would please his urge. He took a seat on a nice rooftop, and watched the city from above. The rain was beating down hard on his head, which was slightly aggravating. But all was good, he enjoyed it, because all it did was make more darkness.

Shabriri heard some rattling, but he ignored it, thinking it was just a rumble of thunder. He enjoyed the view of city. It was so unlively, since all the people knew they were going to die.

"Hey, you!" a voice cried. "Don't move!"

The demon sighed. He could guess what was behind him. A human female, small and frail, with a tiny pistol that she was going to shoot at him. Sure enough, Shabriri heard a shot whiz past his ears. Nervous hands... He turned around, confirming his prediction. She was small, had hair comparable to his skin, except maybe a more vibrant shade of...yelllow? That's what the humans call it, or something like that anyway.

"Another hero..." said Shabriri with a laugh. The girl had her gun held up to him, her arms shaking like jelly. "Even the heroes can't stand up to us, little one," he said, flashing his yellow teeth. She looked disgusted, but her feet weren't moving. Shabriri had her stuck to the ground.

"Run, little girl, run!" cried Shabriri, with a mocking laughter. She wouldn't move, or say a word. It looked like her feet were trying to move, but, like most, they were paralyzed by the intimidation of Shabriri (or that's what he thought, at least). He walked up to the girl, and pulled the gun right out of her hands. He said, examining it, "Merely a toy," as he tossed it off the roof. The girl still stood there, looking up at him, shaking, but unmoving.

Shabriri smiled, looking down at the girl. "Pity. Another hero falls." He wrapped his large hands around her neck, and gave a tight squeeze. After a sickly popping sound, Shabriri let go, and she fell to the ground. The demon picked her up, and sniffed her. She definitely didn't have a lot of meat on her bones, not worth eating. He tossed her off of the building, and flew off. The rooftop definitely wasn't a good hiding spot for the night.

-------

Richard woke up again, another nightmare. It seemed he slept through the whole day, the darkness had fallen outside. He looked out the window. The rain was falling a little less hard than before, still a downpour though. A drop of water fell on Richard's head, causing him to look around the apartment. A small puddle was forming on the hardwood floors. If he stayed here, the entire floor would be a large puddle by tomorrow. "Guess it's time to let go," Richard said to himself. His brother was gone, he wouldn't show up back at the apartment. All he could do now was find his killer, and then he would be able to deal with the coming days with his family. Richard gave his brother's killer the name Beelzebub, because that was the only demon name he really knew (from his freshman readings in High School).

With the waterproof bag of clothes on his back, Richard left the apartment, and went out into the streets. He looked up to the sky, and saw a being flying across it. Was it Beelzebub? Probably not, although he could tell from this distance. Looking to his left, he almost let out a cry as he saw what looked like the mangled corpse of a woman on the sidewalk, her blood making a large pool with the rain. Richard gazed back up to the sky, but the being was long gone. Red and blue lights flashed at the end of the street, a car on patrol. Not wanting to be found, Richard ran across the street, leaving the corpse, and his second home behind.

Re: [OOC] Demons of Typhoon City

Sooo, did this die, or what?

Re: [OOC] Demons of Typhoon City

Perhaps there has been some confusion about the occoltists from some recent posts. While the secret area below the church IS covered in runes and protection spells and such, the main area of the church is NOT. The church appears to be a normal church to anyone (Although a little run down) and the occoltists kep it so because if any police force or FBI dude comes around they'll think something's up from one look at the runes and symbols. They have no desire to get tanfled up with other humans in conflict so they try their best to give the appearance of a normal church. And as such when the occoltists are at their base they are dressed as preists and nuns and such.
