Hiro Matazawa

Does it frighten you when your voice slips from my mouth? Have I stolen your words? I think so...

0 · 232 views · located in Wherever the Ringmaster pleases

a character in “Di Morte”, as played by SithFaced

Description

Name: Hiro Matazawa
Image

Nickname (show name):
Mimic

Age:
21

Gender:
Male

Ability:
Voice mimicry (the ability to sound exactly like someone else), and "voice stealing" (the ability to speak at the same time as another person, with their same exact words, either using mimicry or not. This involves telepathic abilities and tendencies, though the user isn't exactly aware of them; they just seem natural to him).

Role:
Exhibit? Up to you...

Appearance:
Hiro is a relatively intimidating looking guy; that is, if you bypass his height. The male stands at a short 5'3'', which he hates more than anything. He has sworn that he will kill anyone who calls him short, and that is a promise. Besides that, he thinks that the rest of him is relatively okay. He keeps himself in shape, as anyone can tell from his well toned arm and core muscles. And he really cares about his outer appearance. He has been known to use makeup as a wow factor, delighting in the morbid, scary, grotesque, and vulgar makeup methods he has mastered. He also is not opposed to flashy clothes either.

His hair color is originally black, like his mother and fathers, but when he joined Di Morte he bleached it blonde - he likes it better that way, according to him. The male also has various tattoos and piercings that he has acquired in his many years in the circus business. His eye color is a natural dark brown that looks almost black, but he usually always wears contacts that change the color of his eyes to something dramatic, and not natural in the slightest; he thinks it adds to the "creepy" factor when he does his mimicry and "voice stealing". Blank stares and hate-filled glares are his specialty, after all...

Personality

Hiro is an interesting person. One minute, he could be withdrawn and cold; removed from the world, and unbelievably harsh to those who try to speak to him. He could also be rather shy, avoiding crowds of people, or at least conversation within them. Or he could be the most extroverted person you know; the center of attention, the fun one, the party starter, or the most friendly. His moods switch almost daily, though they may switch between relatively "good" moods for a week or so, and then relatively "bad" moods the next few days. One doesn't ever really know with Hiro. Hiro never really knows either. These things just happen to him. But that doesn't make him completely mean, or completely nice. He's a healthy mix of both.

Equipment

Image
Hiro's mask is a simple half black half silver mask. It represents his two different abilities; the lighter half represents his ability to mimic, something others might find funny and enjoyable, while the darker side represents his ability to "steal voices", which some find to be utterly terrifying.

History

Hiro's mother was of Japanese decent, and his father was an Japanese-American soldier stationed over seas. The two met and fell in love, and after his father brought his mother back to the United States with him to get married, Hiro was born.

For the first few years of his life, he seemed like a perfectly normal child. His parents treated him well, and he loved them. But when he hit middle school, and puberty hit him, it seemed that his powers began to manifest themselves.

He began to "mimic" others at first, simply in voices. His music teacher thought he was just uncannily good at 'faking' voices of singers, as she had seen people do it before. But one day, he was able to mimic her voice, and the voice of every kid in his class. And it wasn't just that one class; it was every class. It was the entire school. He could sound like every person in the school.

He thought it was odd. They all thought it was either cool or terrifying.

His parents didn't necessarily care at first; it was entertaining to say the least. But as he aged, his differing personality characteristics developed; so did his ability to "steal" voices.

He was now able to not only mimic someones voice, but say exactly what they were saying, at the exact same time they were saying it with no delay.

That really freaked his parents out. And he wasn't quite sure how to understand it either. What it was, was a development of buried telepathic abilities - while he wasn't necessarily aware of what they were going to say before they said it, his brain was able to pick up their speech patterns as their brain fired them out, and spit them out of his mouth at the exact same time.

High school became hard for him when he got there; he would find himself "stealing" his teachers voices as they were giving lessons, which received scared stares, and hushed whispers. His style and music taste had changed because of his changed way of thinking; his friends had changed, and his parents were worried. But he just wanted to leave; because even though they loved him, he felt his parents just couldn't understand him.

He wasn't exactly sure how to control his power at this time; it would turn itself on and off every so often.

And so, his freshman year of high school, Hiro decided he was done with "the system" as it was. He loved his parents, but he couldn't bear to be around them any longer. He loved his friends, but they didn't understand him either. And while he had people he cared about, he just couldn't find enough reasons to stay.

He packed up his things, and he left, looking for a place to belong.

That was when he stumbled upon Di Morte. The Ringmaster took him him, adding him to his "collection". He was able to work with him on his abilities, and after a year of constant practice, performance, and work, he finally had a substantial amount of control over it. But that same year, the Ringmaster died, and his son took over.

Hiro did not like the new Ringmaster in the least. He found him to be slimy, and revolting; those were only just a few of the words he used to describe him. The new Ringmaster reminded him of some of the people he had once known. This Ringmaster couldn't understand them - couldn't understand him - and wasn't worth it, in his eyes...

So begins...
