A detective of Advent Corps, dealing in robotic affairs in the East.
Personality: Kane has a professional and gentlemanly attitude he's adapted for his job. When not around others, he can be very pessimistic and somber, though this is somewhat alleviated in the presence of his robot. He has a great deal of respect for guns, as well as others who use them. He still retains a moral bias in terms of his work, and only carries out jobs for the sake of justice and upholding the law. It can be clear that he's still a rather lonely man who, if not for his work, wouldn't have much of a life at all.
Equipment: Kane carries on him just one firearm, a Browning Hi-Power with an ebony grip. The standard lanyard spur on below the grip is actually his former wedding ring, a light silver one. The gun is always well-cleaned and polished, with a smooth mechanism and adjusted sights. He keeps it holstered at his right hip in black, letting it easily fade into his attire. Two spare clips are kept fastened to his suspenders, each with the maximum load of 13 rounds.
On his left hip he carries a small radio with two preset frequencies, one to Advent Corps' East Command Office, the other to his robot. His wallet is always on hand, baring identification and passes that are capable of getting him over any border. He keeps two different pairs of gloves in his right coat pocket, one pair of sanitary white gloves for investigative purposes, the other a pair of leather driving gloves.
An additional weapon that he does not keep on him, but rather he stores in the trunk of his car, is a Winchester Model 1897 Shotgun. 27-inch long barrel, chambering 12-Gauge slugs and stocked with ebony, the shotgun features an additional port on the tubular magazine that raises the shells held to a total of six. He keeps it loaded with Electromagnetic Slugs, solid penetrative rounds that release an electric current on impact, and are capable of disabling electronics such as robots. He considers it to be one of the more irrational measures of his job, though it has saved him on at least one occasion. There is additional ammo for it kept in his trunk as well.
Nationality: United States American
Employment: Advent Corps
History: Kane was born and raised in Chicago. He aged with the century and was old enough to notice when things began to change. He grew with the skyline and watched as measly buildings boomed into skyscrapers. He knew what some of them were there for- Ford, namely. He wasn't interested in learning cars, but he picked up plenty from his days as a teen in the streets. His father was a government worker at the time and a strong advocate for the Capitalist Movement. At that point he probably didn't know it could one day put him out of his job. While Kane did alright in school, his main interest was his high school sweetheart and, after graduating, his fiancée. He trained and became an officer at the local police precinct, getting the friendly nickname “Jack” by his coworkers for being an all-around handy man at the station. By 1923 he and his fiancée, Rose, married and began living together in a small apartment. They were happy for a time. The following year however, the police department began losing government funding and had to shut down. Kane was out of his job and unable to handle his relationship. He and Rose didn't make it through the hardship. To maintain a place to live, he took a job at a small hardware shop and began studying robotics. He was actually starting to get somewhere with it, when a former coworker from his last job came in one day to request a special model. He was astonished to see Kane working in a small job like so and offered him a position at his work. It was then that Kane joined Advent Corps, a major PMC that he would find had ultimately replaced police forces in America. Based on his prior job knowledge, he was assigned to the investigative division and began work in robotic affairs. The job became his life, but he was still troubled by past memories of his marriage. Looking for an outlet, he requested that he take up foreign projects so that he could get away from his home town. He was granted a project in Europe, to investigate a tip that there had been unlawful use of robotics in warfare. Kane was soon flown off to Europe, to make his way by train to Armenia.
Vehicle Sheet
Model: Ford 1917 Luxury Model
Appearance: The 1917 is a large bodied coupé-esque car with a ten foot long engine compartment, compact cab and fixed-in trunk. The cab seats three; the driver, a single passenger, and then a single back seat from which the car's on-board systems can be accessed. The immense length of the compartment is to accommodate a series of engines that all run simultaneously, giving the vehicle unparalleled power on the road. In addition to the vehicle's fine tuned shocks, the six tires (two in front, four in back) are suited for all terrain and made from a composite rubber that's durable enough to take a bullet. The car sports a navy blue paint job with white hubcaps, black fenders and dark brown leather interior. The headlights double as sirens, with red and blue lights built into the grill.
Equipment: Kane keeps his Winchester shotgun in the trunk of this vehicle, along with an assortment of shells. He also keeps his luggage in here, amounting to several suitcases of clothes and kits to maintain them, as well as ones for maintaining his guns.
History/Notes: Kane got a hold of the Ford 1917 about three years into his work with Advent Corps and managed to get it written off as a work vehicle. He chose it because it looked like the car of a respected gentleman, something he wanted to be quite badly. The passenger seat is the place of a woman in his life and is, of course, inherently empty. The back seat is where his robot sits, capable of maintaining data and the vehicle's systems from there. He values the car as much as he does his firearms and knows just enough to keep up with the basic work on it.
Robot Sheet
Name: Luce
Model: EinsTech XV Portable Utility Terminal (PUT)
Appearance: Luce is the feminine variant of the XV, sporting a slender and shapely figure as opposed to larger and more assuming models. Her primary external casing consists of a plate over her chest and abdomen, one for each of her upper arms, her forearms, one for her head, pelvis, thighs, and calves. These are all sturdy and interchangeable covers that protect more delicate hardware. Between these plates is exposed sinew and cables, all tethered around her chassis and subsequent nervous system. Her detection software is located in her head – senses of sight and hearing, along with proximity awareness are all present. It's inside her chest that the majority of computing software is located. Her hands are fully functional, joint-cased and small enough to perform careful work precisely, and her feet take a form similar to tennis shoes. Her face plate is white, baring a slight floral design up the right side of it like that of a cherry blossom. A small rectangular hole is located in place of a mouth for speech, and two small blue nodes are there in place of eyes. The rest of her casing is also white, with an EinsTech logo on the chest and hands. Her voice is a polite neutral tone, and she's naturally imprinted on Kane.
Equipment: Kane finds it unfitting for a humanoid to live without clothing, so Luce typically wears a light cheesecloth blouse that fits loosely over her, with a pair of large faded brown trousers held by belt. Her software is tuned to respond to Kane's radio and, being electric, a number of cables are ready on her person for recharging with. She has digital clearance to most international archives and databases and possesses a language pack that encompasses most every possible tongue.
History/Notes: Kane was assigned a computer when he began work in robotic affairs and was given a relatively blank XV. Determined to make it into the perfect machine for him, he kept up maintenance on her and continued to update her software with new and improved versions. He replaced her sinew regularly and even her casing when it rusted. In return, she learned to handle a number of basic tasks for Kane even off the job, such as ironing his clothes and cleaning his firearms. As she became more dear and essential to him, Kane chose for her the name Luce, for the Italian mistress in a popular radio drama. Slowly but surely, Luce was filling the niche that Rose had once left before, and Kane had an ally- even if artificial -to keep by his side.
