Rapunzel can only just remember a blurred thing- thousands of lights flying into the sky, only to eventually fall back down into the water and float gently, as though the stars had gone for a short swim in the dark, placid waters of the ocean. There was a boat she rode in, and a man in that boat whose appearance is completely obscured to her, for the memory focuses mostly on an intense feeling of joy and strange serenity. The memory is so potent with emotions that she can hardly pinpoint any of the specific detals of it- only those lights, which she has remembered each of the seven days, when she looks up at the clear, starry sky. She craves to see those lights once more.

- Claustrophobia --The common and fairly rational fear of being trapped in small areas, Claustrophobia is one phobia which causes those who possess it to feel sickened and panicked when kept in cramped, closed off areas. Faced with such a situation as being stuck in a small space indefinitely, such as a closet or under a bed, she will freeze up and her breathing will feel like a labor in its own right. The young woman simply dislikes the constricting feel of being stuck in a small space- such a place makes her feel as though she is unable to escape, and will be trapped there permanently, though this is very rarely the case. For this reason, she prefers large, open areas, and crowds that are well spread out, rather than crammed into a tight area. If ever it is necessary for her to hide in a closet or under a bed, she will likely end up jumping out into the face of danger, unable to handle the cramped space. This also makes her rather untalented at hide and seek, because all of the best hiding places are small.
- Musophobia --Something that she is somewhat ashamed of because it seems to girly and weak, Rapunzel does have a good amount of fear towards any sort of rodent, although mice and rats are particularly terrifying to the otherwise brave young woman. She is likely to get somewhat squeally around one, jumping onto a chair and screaming like a child, using the stereotypical broom (or frying pan) to try and push the little creatures away from her. Usually, someone else will deal with the rodent, and often times tease her about her exaggerated reaction afterwards.

Having been locked in a tower for almost the entirety of her life, Rapunzel never really had the chance to grow wise in the ways of the world, or even to really learn the basics that most people develop in elementary school: knowing who to trust, when it is better to give up, etc. Up until very recently, the only person in her life, besides a pet chameleon, was Mother Gothel, and she trusted her foster mother quite obediently. This leads to a rather naive personality, that of a child or, as the case may be, someone who hasn't really seen the world. Sure, to an extent she was taught to be wary of others by Mother Gothel, but the warning words of a mother figure can hardly to compare to the wisdom that one gains by doing. Thus, she is somewhat gullible once she trusts people, but skeptical until that point has been reached, due to the lingering warnings in her mind.
Other than being naive, Rapunzel is as stubborn as an ox, absolutely unyielding in her desires and plans, no matter what facts or alternatives people may present to her. Once the young woman has decided on something, it would take a minor miracle to change her rock-solid mind, because she isn't entirely accustomed to compromising for other people. Most of her life has been doing exactly what she wants, or exactly what Mother Gothel instructed- there was no real in between. Therefore, compromise isn't a word that can be found in the blond's dictionary. Rather, she will go to no end to achieve that which she desires, due to a fundamental lack of knowing when it would be most prudent to quit. The girl simply doesn't know when to give up or quit while she's ahead. Until exactly what she wants as been gained, the girl will keep on trooping through, regardless of how she may be hurting herself or, unintentionally, others. She may not always know what she wants, but when Rapunzel does, one must expect her to eventually realize it, regardless of how long that may take. She'll go to the ends of the earth to get what she wants.
Despite being naive, pig-headed, and not knowing when to quit, Rapunzel does have her good side. The young woman is actually quite intelligent, able to come up with witty retorts and hold intelligent conversations about books or philosophies (Likely due to the fact that a life of being stationary gave her plenty of time to read up on many topics). Do not expect her to be just another dumb blond, for she will be quick to prove this isn't true- if only to soon look like an idiot once more, because she lacks the normal level of common sense which people would hold. Although she may be able to analyze thoroughly the moral complications of Picture of Dorian Grey, the young woman will spend ten minutes trying to push open a door which is quite clearly labelled 'pull', only to blush furiously and make some excuse when someone else points out her rather stupid mistake. Well, no one is perfect, and with her complete lack of common sense, Rapunzel is no exception.
Regardless of that, though, she actually can be quite a sweetheart when she isn't being somewhat pushy. She is the sort who, being a strong believer in following your dreams, will drop what she is doing to help someone else achieve whatever their goal may be. While she doesn't exactly put others before herself, she is very kind and, though oblivious to the emotions of others, will do her best to cheer up someone who seems sad, or encourage others in their pursuits. It may make her seem nosy or pushy, but Rapunzel is infinitely curious after all, and can't stand to leave someone alone when they seem to be upset about something. This tends to annoy those who really just wanted to be left alone, though.

Before --When the queen of a beautiful kingdom was ill, her husband sent people to search far and wide for a legendary flower that would be able to save his darling wife. They did find it, not realizing that it had been used for a good period of time by a witch seeking immortality and eternal beauty, and the Queen soon became well once more, aided by the magical plant. They soon had a child, and this infant was born possessing the magical qualities of that flower which had saved the life of her mother. Realizing this, the witch from before kidnapped the young princess, and took her to be isolated in a tall tower which was hidden in the forest. The girl was raised by the witch, who she came to know as her mother, Mother Gothel, and her hair was used by Gothel to remain young. On the topic of her hair, it grew at an astounding rate, and was strong and light, as though made from some sort of spider's silk. She could utilize the same capabilities as the flower, if only a specific song was sung. Thus, in this life she grew, knowing only one person and never leaving the tower in which she was kept. As she grew, the young woman maintained a naive mindset, and learned to occupy herself with such things as painting, cooking, etc. However, though she could keep herself busy to some extent, the young woman grew to long for the outside. Specifically for the flying lanterns which she saw each year on her birthday, ones which enchanted her to no end. It was finally, on her eighteenth birthday, that the young woman found a way to find the lanterns- through a suspicious man who climbed into her tower unexpectedly. She stole his satchel and blackmailed him to take her to the lanterns, rebelling against her mother for the first time. And thus, her first true adventure began. The pair nearly drowned, charmed a bar of thugs, and the theif was nearly executed, etc. However, somewhere in the middle, she was able to see those lanterns which she had so desperately longed to see all of her life. She cut off her treasured hair in an attempt to get free from Gothel, and somehow saved his life in the process. The two were married and accepted into the royal family, her birth family. Everything was perfectly lovely, until she suddenly disappeared.
Island --Arriving on the island, Rapunzel of course remembers nothing about her past or who she is, except for the memory of lights and a blurred face. All she knew was that there was something almost intoxicating about the open air and the wind, as wel as the feel of sand between her toes. Everyone on the island seems so nice, as well, with the exception of some of course, and honestly, she isn't too interested in returning back to whatever the world that she left was. For some reason, she feels as though something from where she once was has transferred over, or something like that. Therefore, she is one of those who seem to enjoy the island the most and hold the least amount of desire to return to where she came from.
