Introduction

After finding out that they were simply a social experiment, the Factions were disbanded and those that had lived within the confining walls of Chicago were integrated into modern society. Chicago was a place of the public once again. At first, things seemed alright - those who had been part of the experiment seemed to settle in nicely and find a place within humanity. However, it wasn't long before things got ugly. Those who had lived within the Factions were unsure of how to cooperate with people that they were the polar opposite of. People who would've lived in Dauntless were uncomfortable living in the same place as someone who had lived in the Abnegation community. On top of struggling to fit in, many people from the Factions were still angry with former Erudite members who had attempted to overthrow everything. Modern politics confused and irritated them, and they were frustrated by the realization that some people had no purpose in society.

Eventually, hell broke loose. A group of Pro-Faction rebels grew sickened with the modern-day life. With brute force, they overtook Chicago as a means of rebuilding the Factions. The general public fought back in an attempt to stop them, resulting in a drawn-out five year battle that was later named "Battle for The Hub". Eventually though, the others realized that the rebels were refusing to give up and so they retreated and allowed the Pro-Faction people to do as they pleased, The rebels rebuilt the walls that had sanctioned them off from humanity all those years ago, and those who had led the revolt became the new Faction leaders. The Factions were remade and, for a short time, were referred to as the "Revamped Factions".

Over a century has passed now, and though the original founders of the new Factions are long gone their descendants still lurk in the walled off streets of Chicago. They know nothing of life outside their walls - no idea that other humans besides themselves exist. Yet they live happily, feeling comfortable within the Factions of their choice. Are you wiling to walk among them?

Toggle Rules

- Be courteous of others
- Choosing Ceremonies will have assigned dates so the roleplay feels more realistic (Choosing Ceremony dates will be posted in the OOC thread)
- Although there is a Council, the Governor/Governess is the head of The Council and therefore has ultimate control over the city and Factions.
- Faction leaders can not abuse their authority. This means not being overbearing of Second-in-Commands and being mindful of your Faction’s needs and desires.
- No evil Factions please, we’re simply trying to have a good time and enjoy the series we love.
- No “divergent” citizens please.
- Everyone in a Faction that is above Initiate age must have a job within their Faction. If you are unsure what kind of jobs there are, Snowy_love will post job listings in the OOC thread upon request.
- Please follow the characteristics attributed to your Faction. The only people partially exempt from this rule are Faction Citizens below Initiate age who have not chosen a Faction yet. However, characters who are younger than Initiate age can not be complete polar opposites of their Faction (ex: A child in Dauntless can not be a complete coward. They can be afraid of the activities their Faction participate in, but can’t be excused from them)
- Factions cannot be switched apart from Choosing Ceremonies. Anyone who wishes to change their Faction who are older than Initiate age or are an Initiate who are unhappy with their choice will be made Factionless. Children younger than Initiate age simply have to wait for their Choosing Ceremony.
- The Council will hold meetings at The Hub on assigned dates. Meeting dates will be posted in the OOC thread. All Council members must remember to act professional at said meetings.
- There are jobs only certain Factions can perform. For example, since Erudite are the ones who seek knowledge, members of their Faction are often doctors, nurses, scientists, etc. If you must visit another Faction - such as go to the Erudite Sector for a doctor’s appointment - please be respectful of that Faction’s lifestyle and rules. You must have a reason for visiting another Faction, not just for recreation.
- If the current Governor/Governess retires or dies, all Faction citizens ages 18 and over will vote on which Faction leader will become the next Governor/Governess. If there is a tie or a decision cannot be reached and the former Governor/Governess is still alive, they will make the final decision. However, if the former Governor/Governess is no longer alive then the Faction leaders’ names will be put into something (such as a hat) and a random name will be drawn.
- If a Faction leader dies, retires or is promoted to Governor/Governess then that Faction’s Second-in-Command will take over leadership and the Honoree will become Second-in-Command. The Faction citizens ages 18 and above will then vote on who is going to be the new Honoree of their Faction.
- The Factionless cannot become their own Faction.
- If someone was born Factionless, they can ask The Council at Council Meetings to allow them a chance in a Faction. This is the only time a Factionless will be accepted into a Faction.
- Romance is allowed, but no graphic depictions of sex are permitted
- Try to avoid depicting violence, please. And keep everything PG-13
