Jay Golden

"Relax..."

0 · 182 views · located in Keran

a character in “Divided We Fall”, as played by RiotTerritory

Description

Appearance:

Image
She stands at only about 5'. Her wings are naturally white, but she has the power to camouflage them with any non-moving item. She also has the same wings on the side of her arms. She usually wears the feathers that come off of her wings in her hair. However, once they are off of her wings, they turn their natural color of white. She also has a necklace that is a golden angel that was given to her brother by their mother to give to Jay when she was older.

Name: Jaylene "Jay" Golden

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Race: Soran

Power:
Sky - She has the ability to control weather and wind patterns (creating storms, hurricanes, etc.). Although, there are certain times that she is not in control of her powers. For example, occasionally, when she gets extremely angry, small storms will gather rapidly. She has recently been working on controlling this, but it is very hard for her.
Camouflage - She also has the ability to camouflage her wings (both pairs) with any non-moving item (trees, rocks, people standing still, etc.).

Skills:
Agility - Her light bones along with her small stature make her extremely agile.
Reading People - She has an uncanny ability to read a person's emotions by their body language and tone and the little gestures they make (eye twitches, hand gestures, etc.). Her brother always called her "the lie detector".

Weapon: Golden dagger, but she prefers to use her speed and agility as a weapon.

Personality: Jay is two words: lazy and sarcastic. She doesn't like to say the word lazy, she simply thinks of it as relaxed. Her laidback attitude attracts many people to her simply because there never seem to be many people that aren't stressed. She also has a very dry sense of humor. Her jokes usually have a hint of truth to them as well which sometimes makes them sound extremely offensive, but sometimes extremely hilarious. Jay's amazing agility also gives her the ability to be sly and cunning. She loves taking little things from people without them noticing and then dangling it in front of them. She always thinks it's funny to have a person jump for what they want.

Bio: Jay actually believes that she was never meant to be the Chossen. She believes that it was her brother who should have been it. Jay's mother had left them about a month after Jay was born for unknown reasons, so Jay never really got the chance to miss her. After that event, Jay's father was literally an empty shell. He had no clue how to care for Jay at all and was intimidated, so Ian took over and took care of both Jay and their father. Eventually, Jay's father got back on his feet and started taking care of the family again, but Jay had already grown much closer to Ian. Ian was the one who pushed Jay out of the nest (literally). When she first began using her wings, Ian pushed her out of the tree they lived in, but made sure to always fly underneath her in case something was to happen. They grew even closer and closer. For 15 years Jay, her brother, Ian, and their father lived happily in the beautiful forest. However, that all changed one day while Jay and Ian were out for their nighttime fly. They were joking around when a sudden crack filled the sky and Ian began to fall fast out from underneath Jay. Jay tried to catch up with him and managed to slow his fall, but she was too late. Her brother had died before her eyes, but not without the simple word, "relax". That has essentially been Jay's motto ever since then. The image of Ian, laying still and pale is what awoke Jay's powers. She sometimes finds herself wishing that she and Ian could switch places, but she knows that Ian would absolutely hate himself if he had ever let that happen to her. Now, whenever she is out flying, she always looks down and feels both uneasy because that was where she would always see Ian, and also a hint of happiness when she remembers how much he loved her.

So begins...

Jay yawned as the bright sun light came through the treetops to land on her face. As she slowly opened her eyes, she stretched out her wings that had been camouflaged with the tree she was sitting in, and changed them back to their natural white color. Suddenly, a loud caw was heard overhead and Jay looked up to see Treasure, her peregrine falcon, swoop down gracefully and land on the branch above her. Treasure cawed again and came down to land on her shoulder. Jay scratched between her eyes and smiled slightly. "Beautiful day to go back to sleep, eh?" Treasure pecked at Jay's nose, seemingly disapproving of Jay's statement. Jay sighed and smiled again. "'lright, 'lright, I guess I'm up."

Jay quickly climbed to the top of the giant tree and jumped off, quickly extending her winged to let the wind carry her. The wind rustled her white feathers and she felt at peace. Jay was still sleepy and instead of doing tricks, just glided lazily through the air. She looked to her side and saw Treasure was also enjoying herself, occasionally doing loops or spirals in the air. However, Jay couldn't help but feel a bit saddened seeing Treasure's wings. They always seemed to remind her so much of her brother's own wings. Jay was taken out of her thoughts as she felt a droplet of water on her cheek and looked up. The skies had suddenly turned from a bright blue to a dark grey. "Damn! 'm real sorry, Treasure," she said, looking over at the falcon as the rain began to come down heavier. She knew that her sad thoughts had caused this and she felt bad for ruining the beautiful day. Jay had the intention of stopping the rain, but knew she had to get out of the rain before she could. She began to glide down to the ground when she suddenly saw two people through the tree tops. These people without wings were clearly not Soran. She landed silently near them, camouflaged her wings against the trees and wrapped them around herself, staying out of sight.

Jay thought they may have been Terrans, but the two men were not tall enough, and Jay wondered who they might actually be. She saw one of the men begin to set up camp as the other one began to walk away. Just then, Jay made a spur of the moment decision. She unwrapped her wings and went silently around the man who was setting up camp so that his back was to her. She made a quick signal for Treasure to circle overhead in case anything happened. With that she silently took out her golden dagger and came around the tree. Feeling like she wanted to have some fun messing with the man, Jay leaned lazily against the tree and began picking some dirt from under her fingernails with her dagger. Jay inspected her nails and then continued to pick, saying lethargically to the man, "Ya know, doll, someone might think you're an intruder."

Lucius didn't notice the winged creature's approach, normally he could sense people passing by but today he could not trust this power; according to it there was a growing darksen presents around him but their was nothing to see. "You know doll, someone might think you are an intruder" Lucius was bound by instinct to draw his great sword that was strapped on his back. He attempted to locate the voice, he know someone was here and was ready to use whatever powers he had to even if unstable. To his left, to his right behind him, above him and below him Lucius could not locate a thing, only one remaining place; the trees. So the little voice was a Soran, Lucius did not want trouble with them and he didn't want to draw attention to himself. He struck his sword into the earth and stretched his hands while yawning. He said with a relaxed voice attempting to experiment with diplomacy:
"Intruder? yes i guess this term would fit me at the moment, sorry about the sword; my reflexes are quite violent; you never know who is going to creep down behind you and clobber you. If you want you can come down, I have a few berries and what have you in my bag; not much of a dinner but its what to go after if you have a sweet tooth."

Lucius opened his bag and took out a bag of berries eating a number, they were quite good and were not poisoned unlike quite a bit of the green around here.
He felt a dark energy from a few meters away, it was from the man from before. How did Lucius fail to notice it? he had do be sure with his senses so erratic.
"By the way, did you see another man by any chance? how did he look like?" he said asking the Soran.

Jay was slightly surprised at the man's kindness, but said nothing of it. Instead she dropped down to meet him. However, it was then that a strange screeching noise reached her ears. She turned in the direction and suddenly realized it was the direction that the other man had walked in. The man that had been setting up camp had already gone in the direction of the screech and Jay felt a strange pulling to go with him. She followed, camouflaging her wings with the trees, and watching the whole battle take place with amazement. Through the lines that he had recited, Jay guessed that the man was a Highlen, but was still amazed by his great power. She saw that the Highlen's body was beginning to get weaker and felt another strange urge to help him out. She drew her dagger before hopping gracefully and silently into the tree above. She then proceeded to drop down on top of the insect-like creature, stabbing its back with her golden dagger. The creature flung her off along, dagger still in hand, and she hit a tree with a thump and a crack, sliding down it. The bug creature screeched again and reared its front legs, but slowly began to back off. Jay could feel that she had slashed the upper half of her back and only prayed that her wings were not hurt.

Jay stood and carefully extended her white wings. She could feel that one of the smaller bones at the tip was fractured or possibly broken, but other than that and the large gash down her back, she was fine. She checked over one of her wings to find that many of the feathers had been tipped red from her bleeding back, but she knew that she would be fine. She folded her wings back in, careful not to jostle the fractured bone or her wounded back, and walked quickly to the Highlen's side, deciding to see if he was alright. She had begun to wonder where Treasure had gone off to when a screech was heard over head and the falcon swooped down onto Jay's shoulder, staring menacingly at both the men and the insect. Jay smiled at the falcon's protective glares and held out a hand to help the Highlen up, not knowing whether he would trust her enough to take the offer, but figuring that it was a small, kind gesture. "Eh, ya alright there?"

WHen Sikes heard the "battle cry", he already had a bad feeling, recognizing who it was from. Turning around to look, there was the Highlen charging at the creature. Watching as he got the insect's attention, he used this time to watch it's movements, noticing and keeping an eye for any form of weakspots in it's strong shell. As the Highlen clashed with the creature, he found the spot he was looking for on the creature. But before he could do anything, a Soran girl suddenly joined into the fight. "Where are all of these people coming from?!" He thinks to himself as the girl was then flung into tree. He knew he couldn't sit out anymore now as he raised an arm and released a pulsing dark blast at the creature, making it turn it's attention to him. "Come on, you bug....I'm more of a meal." He says, taunting it, even though it probably couldn't understand him, but it still took the bait as it backed away from the Soran girl and aimed for him.

As it charged at him, Sikes also runs toward it head on, extending his arms to his sides as his hands are then wraped in a strange dark mass and shifted into blade like claws. In a last minute move, he then slides underneath the charging insect and swings his claws to the sides, slashing at it's legs as he slide underneath it. The damage wasn't much, but the creature still reacted to it, feeling a bit of pain as it now walked. He turned around quickly, hoping to see a reaction that he was wanting.

Just as he was trying to make it do, the Mantes Beetle opened his back shell, releasing it's wings as it begins to flap them rapidly, slowly lifting his body off the ground to keep from walking on it's now painfull legs. As it floated upward a bit, it's much softer under belly was now visable. Turning to look at the Highlen and Soran girl, he yells to let them hear him through the screeching and flaping of the creature's wings. "NOW! The belly! THat's it's weak spot!" He tells them, beliving that atleast one of them would be best for that. His attacks were more for rapid movements, they needed a strong single hit to take it out in one go at the now revealed underbelly of it.

Lucius was deep in his battle meditation, he noticed nothing but his foe of the moment. He suspected the man of being a Darksen but did not have the power to fight both creatures at once.
Lucius didn't need the man's words to know it was time for a counter offensive, Lucius thanked the Soran and stood up on his feet raising his blade and then charged.
The creature however was able to fend him off until Lucius called on Umbra for aid again. With the last remains of his will Lucius was able to strike deep into the creature's belly while flying in retreat. The creature screeched again and attempted to free itself from the blade to no avail, Lucius forced the creature to the ground and preformed the cleansing rite; unlike his own battlefield cleansing this one could be preformed as long as Lucius was able to stay in meditation and as long as the foe lay dead or dying. As the creature lay dying and Lucius's own power was now depleted a sudden shadow came upon Umbra and consumed all in its path blocking the sun with a cover of darkness for a few seconds. In the utter darkness Lucius felt his body suffer greatly as the powers of corruption filled his soul, when the sun returned he was able to shield himself but Umbra remained dark and corrupted. Lucius struck the sword deep into the ground and began to fight the darkness in Umbra's spirit. Lucius banished the shadow to the earth and freed himself from its deadly grip after a desperate prayer, as he opened his eyes he saw that his sword arm was burned; not from fire but from the cold deadly shadows. Such was the cost of purifying a dark beings soul, he would now have to rest and await for the moon to return. He gazed at the dead creature, it was shrinking and the corruption that had driven it to insanity was now fading. Lucius gazed at the darkspawn man coldly and turned to the dead creature's body chanting the rite of passage to the cycle of souls.

Jay was a little bit dazed at the immense power of the two men, but when one of them yelled back at her to get the insect under the belly, she was snapped back to reality. Using the sort of sign language that they had made up, Jay told Treasure to begin to get the creature wherever she could manage to distract her. The falcon understood and quickly hopped of her shoulder, diving toward the bug while slashing at its face and wings. At the same time, Jay could feel the slow stream of blood dripping down her back and the small broken bone in her wing, and she began to get angry at the insect-like creature for ruining her day.

Suddenly, the wind began to pick up and leaves began coming off the trees and then suddenly a loud 'boom' was heard above their heads. Jay didn't realize what she was doing until rain began to pour down and her eyes began to cloud over. Jay saw to late that it was her doing, but by then he was having a hard time controlling the brewing storm. When she finally snapped out of it, the creature was already dead at the feet of the Highlen, Treasure was back on her shoulder, and whole branches were being snapped off of trees and flung around. Exhausted from the storm triggered by her anger and the blood loss from her back, Jay dropped to from knees. She shook her head slightly and turned her head toward the sky, imagining the clouds moving away and the sun coming out. The clouds began to disperse and Jay knew that the skies would be able to do the rest on their own.

Sighing heavily and giving a small hiss of pain, Jay stood up very slowly. She stumbled once and then looked around with her dizzied mind. Everything was a bit blurry and she had to lean her side against a tree to keep herself upright. Jay found a large puddle that had formed from the short storm and knelt down beside it. Wincing, she extended her right wing and scooping some rain water up, began to clean the bloodied spots of her wings. As she did so, Jay tried to steady her voice and managed to do so only slightly, saying to both the men without looking up, "What was that thing anyway?"

Sikes noticed the cold looks the "pure" Highlen was giving him even though he had indeed helped him in this fight. Looking at the Soran girl as she asked her question, he didn't reply, letting the Highlen to do that sicne he probably wasn't "fit" to talk to her. Feeling sick to have had to help such a person, he pushed his negativity to the side as he noticed the situation a bit more. The Highlen seemed drain of whatever power he was using to try and "cleanse" the now slain creature, and the Soran girl was injured from her attempts to fend off the beast. Hardly putting even a second to think on what to do, he casually walks beside him, placeing a hand on his shoulder for only a second to get his attention beofre walking infront of him to the fallen creature. "Your obviously not set for your stupid "cleansing" right now. Why don't you do something usefull and have a look at the Soran girl? She got hurt from this thing." Without even giving the Highlen a chance to reply, he already goes ahead and walks up to the Mantes Bettle.

Walking up to it, he looks down, sensing with more detail the "darkness" it had inside itself. It was indeed giving off a dark-like sensation, but it felt to, unbalanced. Usually when a creature is consumed by their own darkness, one would feel it strongly that it's dark, but this..this was just a strange chaotic sensation. Almost like all of it's inner energies were swirling within itself in a chaotic storm. None the less, if it indeed had darkness mixed in, he could do something. Shifting one of his hands into the clawed beast like form he had them before, he palces it over the opened belly of the creature, planning to see if he could draw out the darkness it had within. But not even a moment after her started, he quickly pulled away in fear. Suddenly feeling utterly terrified as he was panting hard. "What...what is this?...This is nothing like a commen consuming of darkness." He mutters to himself, the swirls of energies that had taken ahold of this creature was something that instantly brought a cold chill down his spine. But, out blindness hatred for the Highlen, he simply turned to him and glared at the "holly" warrior. "What did you do to this creature with that stupid chanting of yours? His life energies are in a chaotic storm within itself."

Lucius did not reply to the Darksen scum, he had more pressing matters to attend such as aiding the wounded Soran. He stood up and rolled a purification seal on his "burned" arm. Drawing his sword from the ground Lucius returned it to its saber strapped on his back, He walked to the Soran and opened his bag searching for a healing charm. He smiled to the Soran and said "I my self am not a healer but one of my comrades is, this charm should clean the wound and speed up the healing process"
Lucius searched his bag for the few bandages he carried with him and and said trying to be as calm as possible "I do not know how to treat Soran wings, can you offer me any instructions about it? "here have some these berries" said Lucius while offering a small bag of berries he had collected.

Jay simply nodded at the Highlen. Normally, she would not have let the man touch her, but Jay had become too tired to protest. However, Treasure was not as accepting as Jay. The falcon screeched and extended its wings as if to scare the man away. Jay sighed and stroked Treasure's feathers, causing the falcon to relax into her touch. Hastily, Jay made the signal for Treasure to go flying and whispered to the bird, "Go get yourself somethin' to eat. Kay?" The falcon seemed to reluctantly spread her wings and took off into the sky. Jay turned back to the man and sighed again. She saw that he was offering her a small bag of berries and shook her head, pushing the bag away from her. "Don't trust ya as far as I can throw ya, darlin'," she said sarcastically with a small snort of amusement. Jay painfully spread out her injured wing and pointed to the slightly crooked bone. "But, If ya know how to put that back in place, that'd be nice," Jay said tiredly. The blood loss had made her lightheaded, but the blurriness was beginning to get better from the Highlen's healing charm. She looked over at the other man by the beetle curiously and tilted her head to one side. "What do ya mean 'its life energies are chaotic'? The damn thing's dead. It doesn't have any 'life' energy left in it."

Out of rage, he ignored the Soran's words as he glared at the Highlen that was ignoring him. "Hey! Anti-Holy Scum!" He finally yells out in insult at the Highlen, calling him out what he clearly belived him to be. "What did you do to this creature wth your cult chanting?!" It was clear that, because the Highlen was ignoring him, he was begining to let out his rage for Highlens. "It's life energy was twisted and swirled in an unatural way!" At this moment, he was only fixed on the Highlen, his anger toward what he belived what he did to the creature slowly taking over his commen train of thought.

#, as written by Shaodow
The Highlenian cleanings of Darksens swept over a large expanse of Darksen territory and many settlements had been wiped out utterly, fortunately his was spared the grizzly fate though many were not as lucky, however word had begun circulating all throughout their lands about one settlement in particular were a single boy was rumored to have survived. The people were also beginning to believe that boy, in his ultimate pain awakened the powers of the chosen among their people, the power to manipulate the natural energy of darkness by his own will. Most doubted it for the thought of a boy awakening the power seemed outlandish to them, and there were those among each settlement that were warriors and believed that they would be the one to awaken the power, Marrow didn't know exactly what to beleive and decide he would find this boy and see the truth with his own eyes why the rest of them gossiped and lived in fear of the Highlens. If it turned out to be true then he decided he would be honored to serve the Chosen, and if it didn't then the boy would still be worth taking under his wing if he managed to survive an attack like that on his own.

Nearly a decade has passed now and Marrow had long since believed that the boy met his fate after escaping the wreckage, the trail was cold and just as he was preparing to finally give up the search, sure enough a glimmer of hope showed itself within the chasm of darkness. He avoided any major settlements because most fear Darksans and him in particular, wondering through a Soran forest in search of sustenance he saw a young man not who appeared to be about the same age as he that fit a description of the boy who had now grown to a young man. For weeks now he had been following him in the shadows, skillfully crawling across the forest floor under the cover of plant life and vegetation silently. As a master of the silent kill this was not a difficult feat to accomplish, he wanted to see the boys power or lack there of first before making himself known. After so long it was beginning to look like the stories were just that, stories and nothing more, but as a chance encounter with a Highlen and an insect who's mind and body seemed to be consumed with dark attacked the young man he called forward the legendary powers. There was no doubt about it now, he was the Chosen Darksen, it would be time to make himself known soon but Marrow still had to play it safe with a Highlen around.

Marrow kept his distance and still remained on the forest floor, his clothing and his cloak were tattered and ripped up from moving about in this manner for so long and his body ached as well, yet he endured as he has suffered far more serious pains in his short lifetime and he was prepared to endure the minor pain a little while longer for such an important task that has consumed nearly a decade of his life.

"What did you do to this creature wth your cult chanting?!" The young man demanded to the Higheln most likely, it was quite the tone to take and he knew very well a Highlen wouldn't accept being spoken to in that manner by a Darksen, yet another conflict seemed just over the hill and it was one he would lend his services to for the sake of protecting the power the young man held. It might prove unnecessary though as the young man has survived on his own all this time, all that was left to do for Marrow was to watch..and wait..

Jay nearly growled at the man ignoring her. She stood from her crouch and walked up to him. Jay was probably a good half a foot or more shorter than the man, but she still poked at his chest with menace, pushing him back slightly. "'Ey, Mr. High-and-Mighty, I was talkin' to y-" Jay stopped abruptly mid-sentence as her sensitive Soran ears picked up a slight sound from the forest. It was a trait of most Sorans to have super-sensitive hearing considering that most of the time, they were silently hopping around in the trees and always watching out for danger. Her ears pricked again and she turned in the direction of the noise. She placed a hand on her dagger at her thigh and stepped away from the Darksen. "Who's there?" Jay looked back at the two men for only a moment before moving toward a tree where she thought she had heard the slight noises. It was only a very soft noise meaning that who or whatever is was was very good at sneaking around. For a moment, Jay considered that it may have been another Soran, but assumed that if it was, they would most likely have chosen to move about in the trees rather than the forest floor. Jay took her hand away from her golden dagger and continued on her way over to the tall tree, hoping that whatever it was, it wasn't another one of those disgusting bugs.

Lucius decided to read a manual one of his comrades in the priesthood had given him as a gift 3 cycles ago, he was no expert healer but the old master had always told him that he possessed a natural gift for it and all it took was some reading and some practice before Lucius himself became a mater of the craft.

Lucius was ready to put what he had read to the test and attempt to heal the Soran when the Darksen started to shout and rave at him again.
Lucius didn't want to fight and he wanted to heal the Soran before he was forced to do so but when the Darksen started attacking the light and the order Lucius could not ignore him any longer.

Lucius stood up and drew his sword, his arm still heart terribly from the last fight; Lucius didn't understand why the corruptive energies of the creature were able to invade his own spirit and inflict such injury, such things happened before but not like this. Lucius spoke to the Soran and said while gazing at the Darksen furiously "I have stopped the bleeding, if you can heal your self there are a few bandages in my backpack for you to use but if you can't you shall have to wait."

Lucius approached the Darksen barley able to conceal his anger and spoke defiantly of the creature's twisted lies:

"To answer your question scum the creature has been cleansed from the powers of darkness, its spirit is now free to ascend to the next life free from your people's corruption. I also have the joyful task of correcting your own soul it seems and before you are cleansed and freed from your wretched body you should know that you are not dealing with one of the many children of light cults that have formed in response to your kinds corruption; you are dealing with the Holy order of purity, and when you offend the Holy order of purity you offend me!"

Lucius was full of rage; the dark embrace of hate was far greater then it should be but Lucius did not notice it, nor did he notice that Umbra's spirit releasing itself from his arm as the seal burned with dark flames and consuming his blade with the corrupted light of shadow.

Jay looked up from her searching as she heard the voice of the Highlen speak. She turned just in time to see the Highlen's blade coming down on the Darksen and a shadowed man sneaking up from behind the Highlen. Almost without a thought, Jay unsheathed her golden dagger and slipped in next to the Highlen. She was facing the opposite way as the Highlen, but was still next to him. She held the blade up to the shadowed man's neck, not angrily, but rather defensively.

"Rule of thumb: Ya can't sneak up on a Soran," Jay said sarcastically with a slight smile. She knew by the sound of the man's breathing that he was the one she had heard just moments before. Jay looked from the man who stood at the point of her dagger, to the Highlen she was standing by, to the Darksen behind her. She did not have any desire to fight any of the men, but she would if she had to. "What the heck are ya'll doing?" she asked incredulously to all three of them, not one in particular. She knew that Darksens and Highlens were supposed to hate each other, but she didn't understand why they couldn't just leave each other alone instead of fighting.

Everything happened fast. As he watched the corruption swallow the Highlen, turning him into a mix of Darkness and Light, he was in shock at what he was seeing. He had a power of BOTH races within him. "Your..." He mutters before he was cut off as he heard the changed Highlen's "BOO" as he tried to turn around and defend the upcoming attack he knew was on it's way. But before he could lift his arms in defense, another figure formed in front of him, striking at the Highlen with accurate skill. Not long after that, the Soran girl also came in, striking at the "assassin" with her dagger to keep him in bay. It was all to fast, to much in a few seconds was happening. But, not thinking straight, he just saw the corrupted Highlen attacked by the assassin and saw his chance to strike. Reeling his claws back, he was about thrust it forward into the Highlen.

But then, a single sentence stopped him.

"What the heck are ya'll doing?" the Soran girl says as she tries to hold back the assassin. Reality snapped him out of his rage as his claws stopped right over the assassin's shoulder, pointing at the Highlen. "....Stop....Just stop.." He says almost softly as he steps back, his arms returning to normal. "....you..assassin...step back from them..." He says asking the assassin to step down. He had realized what he was doing now. He was falling into the very thing he was was against, the hatred among the races.

As he looked at the three in a conflicting hold, he watched, hoping for them to go along with what he asked, not noticing something going on behind him. The body of the fallen creature slowly began to move around where the Highlen had stabbed it. Then, in a sudden burst, the creature's eyes jolt open, letting out a high pitch screeching yell that would ring painfully through everyone's ears.

Sikes covered his ears in pain at the sudden screech as he looks back to see what was going on, squinting a bit. "What...the hell?..." He mutters before he saw it. The wound that the Highlen gave it was reacting strangely, sending out blood red vein like markings to the rest of the body as a black and white mixture of force swirls in the wound, spreading it wider open. Something was definitively happening to the creature, and Sikes believed it had to do with the chaotic sensation he felt. It looked like it was tearing the creature apart from within.

Umbra was having a blast! Umbra had never before possessed so much freedom from Lucius and Umbra wasn't about to give this freedom up so easily. The sheer joy of the fight caused Umbra to laugh in joy and even give a little dance when Umbra dogged the other meat bag that was coming at him. Umbra had not escaped without a scratch but what was the point of fighting if not to find worthy adversaries that could harm Umbra? Umbra was about to attack again when a girly voice told them all to stop.

Umbra stood up a laughed "stop fighting? I Umbra do not stop fighting for free you know, I get so little fun time with Lucius so let me enjoy myself by cutting these meat bags like sausages! Just thinking about it makes me hungry!"

Umbra turned to look at the girl and then a memory struck Umbra, this was obviously one of Lucius's memories but it felt so compelling. When Umbra gazed at the Soran girl Umbra could not help but think about berries; nice sweet berries and Umbra really likes berries. This was so unfair! How could Umbra fight while thinking about berries?!

Umbra faced the Soran and grinned while stabbing the blade in the ground.
"All right berry girl Umbra will stop the fighting just for you but don't count on this lasting!"

As Umbra spoke these words Umbra felt a sudden uneasy feeling, Umbra turned to face its source and saw a strange being obviously challenging Umbra to combat. Umbra chuckled and said aloud "so the fighting isn't over after all! Come one boys and you too berry girl this creep is plenty for the four of us me thinks!"

As Umbra drew the sword and began channeling energy Umbra felt the all too familiar presents of Lucius begin to immerge… in the blade. So this was were he went to when Umbra went for a killin spree, no wonder the sword was so light!... as in light light … Umbra was quite embraced, to come up with such a bad joke before fighting could be nothing other then a bad omen. Umbra battled to remain in control of the body focusing all of Lucius's powers of light in the blade and the darkness in the hilt, Umbra didn't like ether of them really the shadow was Umbra's calling. Umbra charged vanishing and repapering using the shadow cover trick in order to confuse the creature and make a good nice slice before the blood letting got started.

Jay was surprised to say the least at how each of the men seemed to stop because of her and she gave a small sigh of relief that no one was going to kill each other. She looked over at the Highlen and dropped her dagger from the shadowed man's throat with exhaustion. She was confused as to why the man seemed to be speaking in the third person, but decided not to say anything. 'There are some weird people 'round here lately,' she thought sarcastically to herself.

Her back still had not healed and her wings were sore as hell, but Jay only let that tiredness and pain pass her facial expressions for a moment before giving a curt nodding at all three of them and putting on a small smile. "Glad we can all get along," she said sarcastically with a small chuckle to herself.

A sudden screeching filled the air and Jay covered her hyper-sensitive ears in pain, dropping her dagger to the ground. The screeching stopped and Jay blinked slowly before looking up at the shadowed man, then to the Highlen, then to the Darksen, and then to the hideous creature standing in front of them. Jay looked at the Highlen with a small smile on her face and laughed, picking up her golden dagger once more. "Berry girl? Really?" Jay chuckled once more and then stepped up to the Darksen's side, her expression turning to a slightly confused frown. "What's happenin' to this thing?" she asked as if he had all the answers. He sure seemed to know what was going on a minute ago.

Sikes looks at the girl that stepped up next to him as he grits his teeth from the after effect of the high pitching screech. "It's life energy, it's been....changed so much that..I think that it's completely broken down. The creature is being torn apart from within." The creature just swings his arms all around it, screeching in a high pitched pain as it's arms slash and slam against all the trees around it. It was going on a rampage now out of pain.

Sikes looks back at the Highlen with hate filled eyes, still believing he was to blame for this. "Look what you've done, you pride filled Highlen." Once giving him those words, he faces the creatures, pulling out one of his blades as he readies for a chance to strike among it's wild swinging. "We have to find a way to try and stabilize it's life energy. I don't want to know what will happen if it rampages off like this."

((apology to all for my delay, life caught up, hopefully we can keep going.))
