As far as history tells, the Pantheon has always led man to greatness, prosperity and success in all they do. The diversity in this world is well-maintained by the patron deities that govern their selected domains and beliefs to the people under them. In this world that can only be described as a wonderland of magic and wonder, humans and the other humanoid races go about their lives and business usually unburdened by greatly serious matters. The gods who guide them walk the earth, just as they do, often directly assisting in the lives of the people. But records also shows great tragedies and disasters occuring through all of history that have led to the disappearances of gods and deities... then later, others rising to replace those lost. Mankind doesn't quite understand what happens, nor do the gods say, but as long as the deities are around to make their lives easy, they do not question it.

Five years prior to current day, a great and powerful force threatened the very world we inhabit. Gods began vanishing from this world again, causing discord and confusion throughout all the lands and seas and skies. Though none but a scarce few even saw the force, everyone knew that something was wrong as the gods that guided their world disappeared en masse, one by one. larger than any recorded event in history. All that the average person knew was that a great roar of a creature unlike anything they ever heard bellowed through the world, followed by twenty minutes of pure silence... and the same roar reaching to the corners of the world and back in pain.

Messengers from the remaining gods preached that the world was safe from this threat for good, that they would bring new gods back to replace those precious comrades lost. And soon, the world would be back in order again. Life would resume as normal under the ever-watchful and guiding eyes of the deities. That is what they preached.

Many major gods were fell in this period. Of the Originals, only Amaterasu, the goddess of the Sun and mother to all, survived. Even Death fell, leaving the world in a state in which none could die for three years. There was much confusion and struggle for mortals as they tried to make it by until their deities returned.

In this world, all gods have either been returned to power or replaced entirely, save for one. The former goddess of the moon, Sortiara, had yet to be replaced. Nights in this world had no light, not even the stars, save for fires made by man and Agni, god of fire, who has done his best to illuminate the sky for night dwellers. Though he is not powerful enough to do anything about the moon, he has gained a great following in his attempts to keep the night alive. But he has pleaded with Amaterasu, the goddess of the sun, to find Sortiara's replacement. Begrudgingly, she accepted his request. She had hoped to wait another couple of years, but the Lunar Cycle needed to continue. And so the Goddess herself let her voice ring through the world at Dawn one day that soon the moon would return to them. Her counterpart would illuminate the night sky once more.

Our story begins in the forest city of Oakvale. For whatever reasons, you have come to this city. Perhaps for work. Perhaps to meet the new Goddess. Maybe you're a party-goer and have come for their celebration festival. Whatever your reasoning, this arborial utopia has welcomed you openly and warmly during this season. Once the main home to the prior goddess and her people, they prepare to welcome the new Goddess with a great celebration. But what our visitors do not expect, is the quest the goddess has in mind for them...
