Personality: "Be not afraid of my appearance child, I may seem imposing but that couldn't be any farther from the truth. I am kind, caring, and considerate, if you find yourself in trouble and in need, then I shall listen and impart my wisdom to help find your way. Yet, how you perceive such wisdom, in the end, is up to you. Although, heed my following words, I may be peaceful but do not mistake it as submission. If one shall earn my ire in due course then I shall make it abundantly clear that you will make amends, lest you face my overwhelming power."
Opinion of mortals: "Mortals have the tendency to be wild, uncouth, and ultimately unwise. Yet there one redeeming quality is their receptiveness to learning. Through their experiences they understand that in order to survive and advance they must become wise indubitably. That is where I come in, and through my teachings they shall carry these lessons and pass them onward to all races for all times. It does my heart proud to see Mortals advance in such a way especially where other's fail."

[People]
Vanaras- The mortal race of Houdan is the intelligent, monkeylike Humanoids known as the Vanara. All Vanaras are bipedal but do have long, prehensile tails and hand-like feet capable of well articulated movement. A Vanara's body is covered in a thin coat of soft fur that ranges in many colors like chestnut, ivory, and golden. Vanaras stand slightly shorter than a Human and weigh slightly less than one. Vanaras are an agile and insightful race of beings but are also rather mischievous. Unlike the Goblins however, their mischief is all in good fun and is never meant to harm anyone.
The Vanaras are generally a friendly race of beings. They enjoy song, food, and dance and often have many celebrations and festivals throughout the year. They are a race of traders, artists, cooks, scholars, and warriors. They look at the world with a curious eye and have a natural optimism about them. They are also honor driven and noble especially when it comes to combat. Although they do not actively seek out battle and would prefer to handle things peacefully. Make no mistake, they do not shy away from warfare either and will defend their home and honor if threatened.
___________
Nagas- A race of snakelike beings that are the mortal enemies of the Vanaras. They were created by Houdan as well to help teach the Vanaras wisdom in dealing with one's enemies and one's own hatred. The Nagas have long, scaly, serpentine bodies that form into a relatively Humanoid torso and arms with a cobra-like head. The Nagas are a vain and vengeful race of beings that are generally hostile to all other creatures. They have nothing but hate for the Vanaras and actively seek their destruction. The Nagas are quite intelligent with a knack for treachery and manipulation. The Nagas are a very fecund race capable of giving birth to hundreds at a time.
Despite being hostile and militant, the Nagas too have their love of festivals and food and drink. Having their own celebrations at certain times of the years. They are a strangely sexual race, being notable of the sentient species that fully support and encourage the act of polygamy and orgies.
[Economy]
Wukongan economy depends mainly on the trading of goods and services. The Vanaras are known craftsman of fine goods, like silk cloths and jewelry, and they are also fine artists and cooks. A major export from their lands is grains of rice which used in various recipes and dishes found throughout the world. Another big export from their lands is tea, especially oolong, jasmine, and green. As for currency, they deal in gold and silver but their most precious mineral is the gemstone known as Jade. Jade has a more higher value than even gold or diamonds in Wukonga and is often used as a symbol of royalty. The Empire has it's own mint called the Ren, shortened from Gerenfu meaning "personal fortune," it is also called the Imperial Standard. It is in the shape of a round, finely crafted coin with engravings of the words wisdom and virtue in Vanaran. These coins are made in gold, silver, and copper.
[Politics]
Politically the Vanaras follow a more Dove policy when dealing with foreign nations. They would rather be diplomatic than militant and prefer to seek out peaceful ways to resolve disputes. Still that doesn't stop them from training and building up their military forces and the Empire does possess a formidable standing army. They are no strangers to combat thanks to the ever persistent threat of the Nagas found within their home and the threats that the unknown harbors. They understand the value of strength and will give a show of force in order to warn others that they will not be strongarmed. They are independent and strong willed and this shows in both their military and their society.
Yet they are capable of great patience and will not resort to aggressive actions if other methods can suffice. They are not fond of war and only see it as a necessary evil when all other options fail. They do not take offenses by other nations lightly, and depending on past behavior, the Vanaras will be slow to respond or assist others if they're perceptions of their people are low. Sometimes they might out right refuse another nation's wishes if they really angered them. On the opposite end, the Vanaras are always willing to help an ally in need if they can.
The Vanaras are ruled by a Monarchy under the leadership of an Emperor. The Emperor handles all the affairs of the state and abroad with the assistance of the Three Wise Monkeys, his personal advisers and attendants. Although each of the Wise Monkeys specialize in a certain field of duties held by the Empire, such as laws, religion, and the military. The Emperor also has personal servants like chamberlains and secretaries. In order to distribute and enforce the laws and policies of the Emperor it is the duty of the Imperial Bureaucracy to do so. Which holds many departments that oversee the various states underneath Imperial rule.
The Military order's are carried out and enforced by the Imperial Grand Marshals. The Grand Marshals often meet with the Emperor and Iwazaru in regards to military strategies. Then out in the field the armies are lead by Generals also known as Imperial Marshals. From there orders are carried down to lower ranks to their basic soldiers. Interesting enough the higher ranks are often found in the battlefield along with their fellow Vanaras in the thick of combat. Not even Marshals are exempt from getting their blades bloodied as all wish to lay their lives on the line for nation and honor.
