Xander Atallis

Information Gatherer

Appearance Description
While Xander wears pants, as a formality, his legs are artificial and are in the same style as his arms. This fact can occasionally be seen through his pants, or if you look down at his feet. If you manage to catch Xander without his shirt, both his chest and back are covered in scars from when the nanites repair his skin.

Image When outside his home, Xander wears a black combat vest that covers his chest, protecting it from the outside world. He covers his legs with a pair of dark green cargo pants who's belt holds the hostler for his pistol. If he is expecting to be in combat, Xander has a helmet that he uses to help hide his identity. If not wearing his helmet, Xander normally wears a brown, hooded trench coat.

  • Hacking - When Xander was in the school system, he was determined to excel in computer skills. After 3 years of his specialized classes, Xander began to grow bored with the basic uses and functions of computers. He then started to search for ways around every security system that was installed on the school's computers. When the teacher picked up on this series of actions, Xander was given three weeks detention and classes in hacking and countering hacking. This understanding of computer defenses give Xander quite the edge when he wants into a system.
  • Gunplay - Starting off in a less than preferable neighborhood, Xander had to find a way to defend himself. This was chosen for him when his father bought him a pistol. After spending quite a bit of time at the local gun range, the owner taught Xander how to use his pistol in self defense and rifles when needed. Ever since then, Xander will spend at least two weeks at the range learning the ins and outs of any new gun that he gets his hands on.
  • Power Distribution - Thanks to his artificial limbs, Xander can increase his strength and speed of any limb by distributing it more power. He can also distribute power to a processor in his brain that increases reaction time beyond his already high levels, but the processor causes migraines if overused.
  • Nanite Regeneration - Another system that Xander can distribute power to, this system allows Xander to heal at a visible rate. The downside is that this consumes so much power that Xander can't even run when it is running at minimum levels.

Phobias / Fears
  • Snakes - If it doesn't have wings, legs, fins, tracks, or wheels, it shouldn't be able to move... it just shouldn't.
  • Bees - Bees, wasps, hornets. They are all six legged monstrosities.
  • Running Out of Power - Nothing is worse than not even being able to move.

Bad Habits / Vices
Xander has a "small" problem with smoking and drinking, especially when he is stressed.

Best Qualities
Smart, loyal to friends and family, adaptive, calm

Worst Qualities
Stubborn, easily distracted by women, slightly overconfident

  • Guns
  • Dogs
  • Money
  • People with good hearts
  • Women
  • Cigarettes and booze

  • Jerks
  • Being wrong
  • Polluted Water
  • Lies

Make the world nice again and to start a family when he is ready.

While Xander's family was not the poorest, they still were not the wealthiest. Xander grew up in one of the more violent neighborhoods in Brightside. His family managed to avoid the dangers until he was 12, at which point a man had broken into his family's house while Xander and his father were out. The man shot Xander's mother and stole several items of value from the home. For his next birthday Xander's father bought him a pistol that he has to this day.

When Xander was 15, disaster hit him again in the way of The Gray Death. While his father could not afford to treat Xander right away when he was diagnosed, his father's insurance covered Xander when he fell to another disease, which was only treatable with limb replacement and nanite implants. Using what money he had saved up, Xander's father also managed to pay for an implant to improve his reaction time and control over his new limbs and nanites.

At 19, Xander grew tired of his job in network monitoring. Running from his family, Xander joined a group that collected information from anyone for the right price. This job kept Xander entertained and gave him quite a personal fortune allowing him to buy an apartment were he could at least feel safe.

Hex Code

Other Important Details
Xander has remade his file in the Brightside police system several times, and seems to not exist because of it.
AP (Armor piercing) rounds are expensive and/or hard to acquire depending on the area.

  • Self Defense Pistol - Standard rounds deal medium physical damage, energy rounds deal medium energy damage, AP rounds deal low physical damage, but ignore up to High Physical Armor.
  • Black Market AR - Standard rounds do high physical/low energy damage, energy rounds to low physical/high energy damage, AP rounds deal medium physical damage, but ignore up to Very High Physical Armor.
  • Twin Arm Monoblades - Blades that come out of the arms of Xander, the edge is only one molecule thick. These can penetrate up to high armor, but have to injure an organ to deal significant damage.

Xander's armor is medium energy/physical, but he can designate more power to the energy armor to increase it up to very high, at which point he won't be able to walk.

So begins...

"I should have put down a second shot." Xander mumbled to himself as he moved through the water, his helmet hiding his face from the polluted water. The water was warm, even at 50 feet below the surface, only concrete and metal pillars giving any form of a landmark. Here the water was a deep green that dissipated before it even came out from underneath the Fujiimatsu Mechanical Factory.

10 feet...
8 feet...
6 feet...
4 feet...
2 feet...

Xander shot up from under the water, looking at the maintenance exit of Fujimatsu. It was a stainless steel round door with a simple electronic lock and a manual handle, with a ladder next to it that went across the bottom of Funimatsu. Xander took a small pen like object from a small pocket on his shoulder, placing it to the lock and pressing the end. The device made a sound similar to a straining electric motor, quickly causing the lights on the lock to go red, then shut off all together. Xander's mechanical free hand shot onto the manual handle, throwing the piece of metal to the bottom of its indentation.

The door lifted slowly as Xander crawled into Fujimatsu while simultaneously placing the pen like object back into its pocket. He looked around the metal and cement building, identifying the hallways and corridors of the under-building. Identifying position...
Position identified: Displaying path

A yellow path ran across the floor as Xander looked at the floor, memorizing several of the turns through the normal map overlay. He quickly moved about in bursts, force dampeners nullifying a majority of the sound his metal feet should have made as he moved across the concrete floor.

After a few minutes of moving out and about the under-building, Xander reached his destination without detection. A ladder into the main portion of the building. A ladder which Xander bolted up, arriving in an empty maintenance closet. Walking silently up to the door, Xander silently opened the door to two Corrupted Infantrymen, one looking at a computer screen and the other looking at some readings while talking into his comms.

Staying crouched and silent, Xander slid beneath the windows of the room nearing the Corrupted talking into his comms. The moment the Corrupted stood up straight, Xander extended his body his left arms monoblade shooting straight out of his palm and stabbing through the back of the Corrupted's helmet, killing him as it cleanly slid into his brain and twisted. Xander carefully set the Corrupted down as he retracted the monoblade and dropped below the windows again.

Bang! The sound of a sniper echoed through the room. As the Corrupted at the computer began to stand, Xander rushed up from behind, his right arm's monoblade piercing easily through the spinal cord and neck of the Corrupted, as the door to the rest of the facility opened. Another Corrupted walked in, raising his rifle at the sight of Xander, who rapidly moved the body of the Corrupted on his monoblade in front of his body. With a single step, Xander gave the Corrupted only 7 shots before his left hand's monoblade punched through the bottom of the Corrupted's chin and through where his spinal cord connects to his brain.

Pulling the two bodies in the room, Xander quickly put his monoblades into the wall to cut the door's hydraulics as soon as it closed. Xander then walked over to the window as another flash came from the muzzle of the distant sniper, angrily displaying a middle finger in the general direction of the sniper. After releasing his initial anger, Xander moved to the computer, plugging in a small drive to the terminal. He then downloaded data from sensors that he had place just a week ago to monitor what pollution the facility actually produced.

Xander turned around from the terminal he had been working at to see a small girl in the whitest dress that he had ever seen. "Who? How? What the hell?" Exclaimed Xander as he stared at the girl for a few moments, before she decided to speak, he voice melodious and beautiful. "This place will burn. Go to the roof."

"I have a faster way out." Xander stated as his monoblades ejected and sliced cleanly through the floor below him. Something told him that the girl was not truly there, namely the helmet not being able to detect her. Still, Xander was not going to ignore advice when he was already ready to leave.

As the floor dropped, along with the cyborg standing upon it, Xander took a crouch with his legs angled like a spring. Upon striking with the floor, his legs did exactly as intended, absorbing the majority of the shock and redirecting it. With a quick look to the floor, Xander said "Cement. More than likely, way too thick." to himself as he looked around the under-building.

Processing potential paths...
Potential paths found: 19
Displaying: Closest escape

The ever-so-helpful helmet HUD displayed a new yellow path. With a single movement, Xander followed the turns and hallways as fast as he could, without risking himself. Within moments he was at another maintenance hatch. Nobody's watching anymore. Xander launched his monoblades through the steel and slowly cut the metal hatch from its locks and hinges. As he retracted his monoblades, Xander diverted power into a single kick that sent the trapdoor into the water as well as breaking any remaining connections to the floor.

Diving into the water, Xander went back down to 50 feet below the surface. It got him past whatever was guarding the place when he arrived. However, it would seem that the tactic wouldn't work again as a battle-sub moved beneath Xander, likely looking for those trying to swim away.

With a few strokes, Xander attached himself to the sub.
