TRUE FORM

While there is no completely accurate description of his true form, The Morbid One generally wears some sort of mask or helm, at the very least. Like most of mythology's creatures, people always imagine him differently. Their thoughts weave the power, all contributing to what he looks like at the moment. For example, when he was worshiped by the Ancient Arabians, he looked more like a typical genie. However, nowadays, more people imagine him as a dark god or something of that type. His appearance is more often human, as he doesn't have as many thoughts boosting his power.

History

Blake has always been in the shadows of myths- well, when he isn't the actual shadows. He dwelt in Ancient Arabia when djinns and genies were worshiped, and his magic powers led to lots of superstition around him. See, he started out as a normal mortal, cursed with the power of death. A genie tracked him down and challenged him to a battle. Unable to refuse, Blake agreed and the two began a war that would last two months. As they fought, Blake slowly tired. The genie noticed after a couple of days and put a spell on him that would prevent him from growing tired, hungry, or thirsty until a winner was determined.

After five weeks, the contest ended as Blake vanquished the mighty genie with a final deathblow. Keeping the spell of never tiring, he absorbed the genie's immortality. Many other magical beings heard of the new genie among their midst, and seeking to strike him down, he retreated inti the mortal world, in hiding. He reappeared every generation or two, leaving legends behind. A few of his most famous human forms are Gilles de Rais and Elizabeth Bathory.

Harmoni was up in her grandmother's attic, beginning to go through all of the boxes and came across three incredibly gorgeous lamps. She was surprised her grandmother never mentioned anything about them before. She turned towards Calypso and Sophie, grabbing their attention. "Hey girls, look at these," she stated as she lifted one of them out of the box and started looking at it. It was gorgeous, blue with jewels that seemed as it they were real.

She was glad her best friends were there with her to go through all of her grandmother's things. If she were doing it alone, she wasn't sure how well she'd be able to handle it. Her grandmother was the closest person to her in her family and she was just down right upset about the whole thing.

Calypso stood in the attic, looking around at all of the boxes they had left. Harmoni's grandmother sure had a lot of stuff collected over the years, a lot of it took her interest. Every now and then she would ask Harmoni if it were alright for her to take a couple things she liked and Harmoni accepted her request. Calpyso found herself reading through some of the old newspaper clippings that were in one of the boxes when Harmoni grabbed her attention. "Hey girls, look at these," she heard her say as Calypso began to turn around, facing her best friend.

Calypso watched as she lifted a lamp out of the box and she walked over, looking into the box finding two more. She lifted one of them out of the box, finding that it felt a little heavy, but it wasn't too bad. There was something about it that intrigued her. She went to rub the dust off of it and low and behold a huge, dark red smoke came out of the lamp. She just turned her attention towards it and stared in curiosity about what was happening. There was no way genies were real.

ImageThe morning had been a particularly dusty one, with plumes of sneeze-inducing powder erupting in the air every time something was moved. However, Sophie didn't suffer from hay fever, and even if she had, nothing could hide the pleasure that she took in examining all of the curious trinkets that Harmoni's grandmother possessed. Sophie gently pushed an old rocking horse, causing it to swing lightly back and forth, shaking a tad of the grime from its woollen mane. An old hand mirror caught her eye, and she carefully picked it up, admiring the glittery, albeit grimy, frame. In the dusty lens, her reflection looked eerily ghost-like, and she gave it a small cleaning before placing it back where she had found it.

"Hey girls, look at these."

Sophie glanced up, turning to the owner of the voice, as well as the granddaughter to the owner of the abode. Her eyes fell to what the girl was holding in her hands, and her eyes widened in curiosity. "A lamp?" She weaved through the boxes in order to join the two, peering over their shoulders into the cardboard box from which they'd discovered not one, but three of the perplexing antiques. She watched as Calypso reached in and took another out, before turning her gaze to the final one in the box. Strangely hesitant, she reached into the box, picking up the final lamp and bringing it to the light. It was strange in appearance, not as glitzy or bejewelled at the one Harmoni held. A dull, coppery gold, engraved with intricate swirls and foreign markings, with something in what looked like Ancient Greek written on its side. Peering closer, she traced her thumb over the marks, attempting to rub off the clotted dust. "This is really-" Her words cut off when she saw a glimpse of crimson curl over her shoulder, and spun around in shock, to shocked by the vast plume of red pouring from Calypso's lamp to see the blue-black smoke beginning to trickle from the spout of her own. "What is going on?!"

Harmoni watched in pure shock and curiosity as her best friend's lamps began spewing colored smoke. What was going on here? No more than two seconds passed by before her lamp began spewing out a colorful smoke as well. The blonde's eyes widened as she glanced over at the two girls. "Don't tell me you guys are thinking the same thing," she stated as three males appeared out of the smoke. Though she couldn't deny how attractive the three of them were. Each one looking completely different from the rest, holding their own ways of living their trapped lives. Harmoni just stood there in silence as her gaze trailed over the three males standing before them. She then turned her attention back to Calypso and Sophie, to see what they were thinking from the expressions on their faces.

Why was her grandmother collecting genie lamps, she questioned herself. Wait, why is she thinking like this? There is no way genies were real in the slightest. They're just myths, legends, a fairytale. Without knowing what else to say, she just stood there in silence, just staring at the three strange males that appeared out of nowhere in her grandmother's attic.

Calpyso couldn't help but plaster a wicked smirk upon her face as she noticed the other two lamps spewing out colored smoke. She watched in amazement to everything that was going on and before long she was able to make out solid figures forming in the smoke. The brunette nodded her head to Harmoni's words as she kept her eyes locked to the formations before them. "Wow, look at that. Not only do we have our own genies, they're attractive ones at that," she stated with a slight chuckle.

Calypso always had a feeling that genies were real, along with numerous other mythological creatures, but never in her days did she believe she would be able to encounter one, or three as a matter of fact, for her herself. The female glanced back and forth between Harmoni and Sophie before returning her attention to the three males. "I'm Calypso," she stated as the smirk returned to her pale lips.

Evander was summoned, emerging as a silhouette through the blue-black smoke and standing before three females and more surprised to find to his sides, two other male genies who he shot a quick glance to. He was left in the outfit as his posing of a 1920s male to blend upon society back then. And by the looks of the three girls, how they presented themselves and spoke, he hadn't been conjured since, for a very long time.

He inhaled a deep breath as if it were a sigh, noting that there were more to be paid attention to currently like which of the three were his master exactly. He scanned for his lamp, cocking his head slightly upon finding the coppery gold one with significant markings and writings then let his eyes trail up to the face of his new presumed master.

Now he felt comfortable to interact starting with a smile that curved onto his lips modestly responding to the comment of how attractive they were. "Ladies. A pleasure to be here," he said skimming them all and bowed his head courteously. "My name is Evander." Evander hoped to step forward and know his master but he felt it better to move when the girls were less flustered by the genies presence and perhaps more comfortable if it were possible for them.

"Boy," he blew out his lips holding his stomach playing into humanity. "I'm sorry, it's been a while. Do you have any food?"

""Wow, look at that. Not only do we have our own genies, they're attractive ones at that." Sophie turned to stare at her friend, still shaken from the whole 'random hot guys appearing out of smoke' thing. Calypso seemed remarkably calm through all of this, she noted, questioning her best friend's sanity for not the first time in their acquaintanceship. She continued to stare in disbelief, looking back and forth between the three so-called 'genies'and the ebony-haired girl, who proceeded to twist her lips into her most flirtatious smirk and introduce herself in a suggestive tone. "Hi, I'm Calypso." She was so focused on her friend's possible insanity that she jumped slightly when one of the genies -the one that had emerged from her lamp- spoke.

"Ladies. A pleasure to be here, my name is Evander." Sophie's expression of disbelief was still plastered on her face, and Imageshe attempted to speak, only to be met with breathlessness and empty words.

"Uh...." Oh, yes. Very witty. Quite the conversationalist, you are.

Suddenly, the genie spoke again, almost making her jump again. "Boy. I'm sorry, it's been a while. Do you have any food?"

For a brief moment, Sophie wasn't sure how to respond, and when she did, her voice was small and still disbelieving,"F-food? You just magically appeared out of an old lady's lamp and you're asking for something to eat?"

As she watched her best friend go on flirting with the strange men standing before them, she just shook her head and glanced over at Sophie with a concerned look. Apparently she wasn't the only one questioning Calypso's sanity...yet again. Though once she heard one of the male's speak, she quickly turned her attention away from Sophie and looked to the male, the one called Evander. "Oh, uh," she stated after hearing him asking about food.

"F-food? You just magically appeared out of an old lady's lamp and you're asking for something to eat?" she heard Sophie state. Harmoni just continued to then stand there in silence, not completely sure on what to think about this whole situation. Not only was she dealing with the grieving of losing the most important woman in her life, she now had to deal with a complete stranger who appeared out of smoke from these vintage lamps wanting to raid the fridge.

Harmoni could feel her heart in her chest beginning to beat from nervousness, fear, and much, much more. All of these thoughts and feelings she was going through in her mind just made her head began to hurt.

Calypso let out a soft chuckle after listening to her best friends and shook her head, "Come on, I'll get you boys some food," she stated as she began leading them through the attic door and down the stairs to Harmoni's grandmother's kitchen. Once down to the ground floor she spoke once more, "Sorry about my friends, they're usually more friendly and have more hospitality than this," she started as she stopped in front of the refrigerator and opened it up. "I'm sure they'll speak more once they contemplate everything that's happened. So, what do you want to eat?"

Calypso was in no way phased by anything that was happening. Of course she was a bit curious about whether or not these men were truly genies or not, but she didn't care about that right now. All that was really going through her mind was that there were three attractive men in the house.

Evander opened his mouth to respond to the girl who had questioned his appetite and he almost responded honestly too, prepared to say something like: ‘Well usually it puts humans at ease to blend among them. And hunger is the easiest thing to mimic.’ But the most confident and self-assured, flirtatious one, had taken the reins so he just rose his brows turning on his heel and followed her.

"Sorry about my friends, they're usually more friendly and have more hospitality than this. I'm sure they'll speak more once they contemplate everything that's happened.” That made him smile.
“It’s only natural, I’m sure,” he responded. In a blink he transformed his outfit to something more fitting for the present day and age, wearing a hoodie and black skinny jeans.
“Is fruit a possibility?” he asked, stroking over his index finger in thought. Not about the food obviously as there was no puzzle in it, but his master. But he felt asking about another girl to the one who took initiative and was filled with confidence, would not be the wisest of moves. Even with two other guys to target.
He suspected the other girls would follow anyway to check on their friend who welcomed strangers with ease.

Harmoni couldn't believe what was happening. There were three strange men standing in her attic and Calypso just invited them into the kitchen to grab something to eat. Clearly her best friend had some series mental problems. Well, of course she had a feeling something like that was possible, but it didn't come into her head as something serious until just now. For all they knew, they could end up being murderers for crying out loud. "Mhm," she stated as she hesitantly followed the four of them down the stairs, heading towards the kitchen.

Harmoni stood there in awkward silence as she witnessed the exchange between Sophie and Calypso. The blonde just sighed and grabbed a hold of the two girl's arms and lead them into the living room. "If you could just excuse us for a moment, help yourself to the fruit," she stated through the doorway. "What the hell are you thinking Calypso? How can you be so friendly to these men? We don't even know them. We need to call the police," she stated in a hushed, agitated tone.

Harmoni felt her hands ball up into fists, trying her best not to knock some sense into her best friend. Yeah she might have had some problems in the way she thought about things, but honestly, there was no point. She sighed and looked to Sophie, "Help me out here," she stated then returned her attention to Calypso.

Calypso's jaw dropped as she noticed Sophie being extremely rude to the guys. They didn't do anything to deserve that. When she mentioned to call the police she was going to speak before she was cut off my Harmoni dragging her into the living room with Sophie. The brunette just folded her arms over her chest with a sigh as she listened to Harmoni speaking. Though when she to mentioned to call the police she rolled her eyes and looked to Sophie as she turned to her for help.

Calypso just sighed and shook her head. "Girls, do you not understand who those guys are? They're our genies. They're not going to hurt us, we have no problems here," she responded. "Now, I'm going to go back into the kitchen and be friendly, hopefully find out which one belongs to me, you two girls should do the same," she added before storming back off into the kitchen.

"I'm sorry about that. So, which one of you had the red lamp?" she questioned as she leaned against the counter and poured herself a cup of coffee. Why were her friends always thinking she had problems. She was the most normal one out of the three of them in her opinion.

One had cracked and it was Evander’s turn to jump. She was hysterical and fuming throwing fruit around roughly. “That kind of hospitality isn’t necessary,” he said softly, his voice an insignificant background noise as he furrowed his brows watching her. Even though he was sure the beef was between the ladies he couldn’t help but get the urge to escape from the room or return to his lamp or something. Even his lamp had seemed more homie than this which was a sad thought to convert to. At the mention of cops he cocked his head prepared to advice against it but the girls had left the room to decide for themselves.

He scratched his jaw looking over the fruit. He wasn’t making the ideal first impression evidently which was a big error on his part that he had to redeem relatively quickly.
Evander picked at some cherries looking around to the others and popping them in his mouth. “And we’re off to a great start, huh fellas?”
When Calypso had re-entered, he figured he had spoken enough, every word seeming to get him in a deeper hole and less ideal situation. Besides he was not from the red lamp she sought so he kept quiet and only glanced to her and shook his head.

The sun grew dark and crimson smoke swirled around him and the red metal burned and froze him at the same time. Finally, the world was enveloped in darkness.

The red metal glowed a soft heated color and the smoke poured back out. Having no idea of what time had passed, Blake quickly changed his standard smoke body to his basic human format. Studying the three women and the two other genies, he decided to hang back and let the others do the talking until he could get his hands on a decent weapon.

He followed the others down to the kitchen. Studying the floor plan, he tried to memorize the new technology. He hadn't been out since 1930, when he'd been trapped initially. Meandering casually over to the knife block, Blake selected a particularly sharp, small knife that he easily concealed. In case of emergency, of course. He was under command, after all. That Calypso girl had a point, saying that they wouldn't get hurt.

Frowning, he hefted himself onto a counter. Natural instinct told him to attack, but for now he'd wait things out. He couldn't get far anyways.

"So, which of you had the red lamp?" Calypso asked. He kind of liked this chick- she was really observant, unlike most brickheaded humans. He raised his hand, not bothering to actually say anything. He could leave the talking to the sickeningly human-loving 'gentleman'. He could feel his facade waver- the two blondes weren't completely convinced they existed.

Well, he could live with the quietness of normality for only so long.

Calypso smirked after seeing the male who sat upon the counter raise his hand to her question. She looked him up and down, finding that she was happy with what she was seeing. "So, I know there are rules to the wishes I make, so mind as well go ahead and get that out of the way. What are they?" she questioned before taking a sip from her coffee. Before the male answered her she glanced around to the three genies and spoke, "Oh, I'm sorry. Did any of you guys want a cup of coffee?" she questioned as she set the cup down.

Honestly she wished her friends would come to their senses and realize what they have released into their lives. If these genies worked in the same way the legends say, they would each have three wishes and they would have their lives to be exactly the way they wanted. She tucked her hair behind her ears and sighed as she just decided to pull it all up. She raised her hands to the back of her head and pulled her brunette strands into a messy bun, not really caring how her hair looked at the moment. Besides, these guys would be around until all three wishes were granted and most likely would return to their lamps if the legends were true. It's not like she had anything to truly worry about.

At that moment she heard thunder in the distance and a couple seconds later, rain falling from the sky and down to the earth. She smiled as she glanced out the window. Calypso always seemed to love thunderstorms, they were always so peaceful to her. Of course if the storm was bad enough it could cause some major damage, but either way she believed it would still be gorgeous.

As Sophie was dragged out of the kitchen, she listened intently to Harmoni, nodding in agreement as her blonde friend attempted to speak some sense into her darker haired one. However, it seemed that none of what Harmoni was saying computed in Calypso's possibly faulty mind, as instead of suddenly coming to grips with her insanity, she opened her mouth only to chide the two on their behaviour. "Girls, do you not understand who those guys are? They're our genies. They're not going to hurt us, we have no problems here." So... now Calypso was an expert in genie-human interaction. Hmph, at this rate, Sophie was almost convinced. However, one thing still bothered her. Genies don't exist. They can't. It was all fairytales, stories, folktales.. It wasn't reality. The idea that her reality was crumbling around Sophie had already set her on edge, but as the truth began to dawn on her... well, it wasn't all that pleasant an experience. "Now, I'm going to go back into the kitchen and be friendly, hopefully find out which one belongs to me, you two girls should do the same." Calypso stormed off angrily, and Sophie stared after her before glancing back at Harmoni.

Image"Genies."She blinked for a moment as she continued trying to take it all in. Her eyebrows furrowed, and she bit her lip in thought. "How is one supposed to react to that?" She sighed, before shrugging, her anxiety hiding behind a forced expression of determination. "We've seen weirder stuff, right?"She didn't sound all that convinced, but nodded in confirmation to herself, looking back to Harmoni once more. "Right."

She turned around, and walked slightly nervously to the kitchen, glimpsing in before actually entering. She glanced at the bruised fruit on the counter and winced. Okay, maybe she'd overreacted a little bit, but didn't her reaction make more sense than Calypso's? She glanced at the genie that she had verbally abused, before hesitantly approaching him. "Um.. Hi." She thought awkwardly of something else to say, but to be honest, she wasn't all that used to apologizing to magical, wish-granting beings for smashing fruit in front of them. "I may have... um..." She bit her lip once more. An awkward quirk. "Overreacted a little."

Harmoni blinked a bit as she watched Calypso angrily stop off back into the kitchen and she just shook her head. How could she be questioning her's and Sophie's sanity? They were the ones reacting to all of this properly. Just when she thought her life couldn't get any more troubling after her grandmother's passing, now she had to deal with three complete strangers who magically appeared in her grandmother's home. All of this combined with her having to plan the funeral and deal with all of the visitors the day of the funeral and possibly even a couple days after. All of this was just starting to overwhelm her, break her down. All she wanted to do at this moment was scream, get all of her frustrations out. But that would be difficult with Calypso. She should have known her dark haired friend would be acting this way. She's always had a strange way of looking at everything. If Harmoni didn't know any better, she would believe she should be sent to an institution.

"Genies," the blonde heard Sophie state and she turned her attention towards her as she added, "How is one supposed to react to that?" Harmoni just shrugged her shoulders, "Um, I'm not completely sure," she responded as she took a peak into the kitchen before looking back towards her more sensible friend. Though after hearing her next words, she was starting to fear that Calypso's way of thinking was overtaking her sanity as well. She just sighed and shook her head before following her back into the kitchen.

After joining her friends and their supposed "genies", she could feel her entire world beginning to crumble in around her. She glanced over towards the coffee pot, finding that Calypso was talking to the darker colored male who didn't seem to be one much for talking. She just sighed once more and listened as Sophie spoke to the one she pretty much attacked with her words and the fruit that was now bruised, laying upon the counter in front of Evander.

Evander gave his attention to the one that approached him hesitantly, finding himself straightening his posture and turning to her as she attempted for something of an apology. “I’ve had worse. Besides,” he said glancing back to the fruit. “I’m sure the fruit deserved it.” Evander flashed her a quick smile.
“So…I don’t mean to eavesdrop,” he spoke again, in a lower tone to her. Nor did he mean to ruin the potential redeeming moment he had hoped for but the word “genie” had already been flung around enough today so he might have well cut to chase. “But have you come to terms of what exactly is happening here?” He asked, scanning her face carefully for her reaction and almost suspiciously. Without in depth knowledge of this girl he suspected her to be more intelligent than rave on in constant denial. “And you’re the ancient looking lamp owner, right?” he added more casually. Something he probably should’ve confirmed earlier on by the girls. But better now than never. "Gold looking, etched symbols?" he prompted glancing to the other blonde to make sure.

The sooner he found his master, the better. To either start a new cycle or get to work on the puzzle of humanity and be a hopeful step in front of them.

"I've had worse. Besides, I'm sure the fruit deserved it." Sophie was pleasantly surprised by the man -er, genie's- relaxed response, although not as shocked as she was by the charming, casual smile that followed. What with his slightly intimidating demeanor, as well as the tense atmosphere of the room, the smile seemed too bright, somewhat out of place. But it also meant that he wasn't as insulted by her meltdown as she had previously feared, which was certainly a relief.

However, his light tone was somewhat suddenly replaced by a darker one, as he queried her on her own grasp of the situation. For a moment, she was silent, wondering the very same thing. It all seemed so... so insane. Genies in lamps in grandmother's attics.... it was like a children's film, the sort that played at eight on Friday nights, the sort that parents sat through, pretending to Imageenjoy the immature humor and laughing only at the parts which the children didn't quite understand.

But it was real. This was no dream. She nodded slowly, "I.... I think so."

"And you're the ancient-looking lamp owner, are you? Gold-looking, etched symbols?" "Lamp?" Sophie's eyes flicked to her pocket, where she had distractedly shoved the lamp following the initial shock of the genies' arrival. She pulled it out, offering it to him, "You mean this?"
