Name:: Kayla
Nickname:: N/A
Age:: 2 and a half years old
Gender:: Female

Breed:: Siberian Husky
Purebred or Mix:: Purebred
Owned or Stray:: Owned
Owner's Name:: Ethan

Personality:: Being a born stray Kayla isn’t the kind of dog who is just going to walk up to stranger and give them a sniff or a lick. She is wary of all and doesn’t trust many. As a stray the only thing Kayla could ever rely on was herself. Her lifestyle has made her independent and having to come with ideas to intend her survival she is a fairly cunning canine. When she is around strangers she is guarded and distant always being the observer. Since her “adoption” so to speak Kayla has become a more social creature, although she still wants nothing to do with strangers when it comes to Ethan and the rest of the pack she docile and unusually relaxed. Going from stray to house pet has been anything but an easy adjustment but she cares deeply for Ethan and her other packmates and as long as they stick by her there isn’t any obstacle she wouldn’t at least attempt over coming for them.

History:: Kayla was born in the snowy streets of Alaska. As a stray she learned early on that she was keep her distance from humans and those that protected them. She was taught the skills of survival from her mother who made sure that all her pups knew how obtain the things they needed to survive. After becoming a year old she left the safety of her mother as the rest of her littermates also did. At first she stayed with two of her sisters but slowly the small band of dogs split apart and soon she was on her own. During the day Kayla would scavenge for food retrieving scraps she found in the garbage or taking to the forest the fish out of unfrozen rivers and eat off of discarded carcasses.

A couple of weeks before her second birthday Kayla was wondering around the forest at night. She hadn’t managed to find any food during the day and had taken to searching the forest grounds at night. Unknown to Kayla that night the humans where out tracking a pack of wolves that had been seen in the village and as the sound of dogs closed in around her the hunt had moved from the wolves to her. Of course Kayla had tried to run but the hunters dogs had trapped her and the humans mistaking her for a wolf shot her. Fortunately for her the shot that got her hadn’t been fatal and as the humans moved in closer they realized that she wasn’t what they thought she was.

The human that would one day take her in Ethan had been among the hunting party and feeling bad for the injured husky had taken her back to his home. After getting her seen by a vet who removed the bullet Ethan took Kayla under his care and nursed her back to health. Kayla like any stray dog in her predicament would be was terrified and given that her first interaction with humans had led to her being shot she couldn’t really be blamed. The start of Ethan and her relationship was anything but smooth as she was as aggressive towards him. Any time Ethan came within feet of her she could snarl or growl at him as she was scared of what would happen if he came close. However Ethan was patient with Kayla and also persist and over time Kayla became comfortable with Ethan enough to actually let him in. It took a couple of months for Kayla to get back to full strength and by the time she had Ethan and her had bonded and of course Ethan by that time had taken Kayla in forever.

Veiw on the Wolves:: “Seeing as I’ve never come face to face with one I can’t particularly say whether that I hate them. I do however know what they are capable of and I rather just keep my distance.”

Veiw on your human, or Humans:: “The only human I trust in this world is Ethan. As far as all the others go I could care less about them.”

Appearance in words:: Kayla is medium sized dog reaching 20 inches in height and weight around forty something pounds. Her pelt is copper and white colored. She has oval shaped eyes that hold an icy blue coloring that is well known with the bred and her nose is liver colored.

Dakota

Dakota was laying down on the porch outside his home looking out into the distance. Dakota along with the rest of his blood pack were outside dogs. In the day they were hunters who provided the pack with food and at night they turned from hunters into guards who protected the den from those who posed a threat. The den sat on a acre of ice cold land that was surround by a fence that although deturd some predators others still managed to get into to. It was for that reason that Dakota along with his packmates took surveying the area so seriously. Sitting up Dakota let out a howl that called in his usual hunting party for tonight's work. In minutes Dakota's pack that was made up of his seven littermates came around from the back of the house. After the death of their parents being the oldest of the litter Dakota had automatically been made the alpha so to speak of his family. Jumping down off the porch no words were needed for the pack to know what came next. Lifting his head to the sky Dakota let out a howl that would carry on for miles, being joined in by his family they sent out a message that clearly stated that this was their home and no outsiders were allowed. As the howl ended Dakota lead out the pack's routine run of the terrain to make sure that the animals of the forest had gotten their message loud and clear.

Kayla

Kayla was laying down by the warm fire that had been set in the fire place hours ago when the sound of Dakota's howl following the howl of the other Karelian Bear Dogs scattered the quiet of the night. Standing up she went to window that was placed in the front of the house by the door and standing up on her hind legs she watched as the black and white dogs faded into the distance. Unlike the other dogs Kayla wasn't an outside dog she was a house dog. After Ethan had official taken her in were as the other dogs were used to hunt game and keep the den safe Kayla served the role of companion and at times a means of transportation. Which being a dog that was born to pull the sled she never had complaints about. With nothing left to see outside Kayla dropped down back onto the floor. Ethan was in the shed at the moment cleaning and cutting up the deer carcass the other dogs and him had caught early today. Which meant Kayla was alone in the house, however she didn't mind being alone as she just slowly walked back over to the fire and reclaimed her spot by its warmth.

Kayla

The smell of the food is what stirred Kayla from her slumber. As her eyes slowly opened she noticed that the fire she had fallen asleep next to last night had been put out. Her nose twitched from the aroma of the food she smelled coming from the kitchen. Standing up she stretched doing what humans would refer to as the downward-facing dog as she came up with a yawn. Shaking her pelt out she walked away from the fireplace and into the kitchen where Ethan stood over the stove preparing the dogs breakfasts. The twenty three year old man was a true specimen of a hunter, he would use every part of the animal he killed using the skins for clothes and the meat for food. Whatever meat the human wouldn't consume he used to feed his pets and he also gave them the bones of the carcasses as he didn't want anything leftover to entice scavengers. Noticing Kayla out of the corner of his eye Ethan turned around having a big smile on his face he greeted his pet walking over to her running his hands through her coat "Well good morning to you. Someone slept well last night" he said petting the top of her head. Ethan's voice was all it took to get Kayla excited and as he showed her affectionate her thick fluffy tail swayed side to side in delight. After a moment Ethan stopped and returned to the stove to finish up his work and Kayla took a sit by the dog bowl and waited to be served her breakfast.
Dakota

After the routine patrol of their territory the dog back returned to their kennel that sat in the back of the house across from the shed and went to sleep content that their job had been done. As the morning sun appeared in the horizon the rays of light from the sun hit Dakota's face waking him. Lifting his head he let out a long yawn before standing up and exiting the dog house that was inside his section of the kennel. As he looked around he saw that none of his other siblings had yet woken and not wanting to disturb anyone's rest he just laid down on the Arctic floor and waited for Ethan to come out. After fifteen minutes of waiting the sight of the back door to the house opening revealed Ethan who was carrying a large pot that was holding the dogs first meal of the day. Consumed with excitement Dakota tail wagged uncontrollably as he started pacing back in forth in the kennel in a mixture of joy and excitement. "Morning Dakota" Ethan said when he reached the door of the kennel, the smell of food had woken the rest of the pack who were now all awake and waking for this mornings breakfast. Ethan went about distributing the dogs meals and once done with that he got the hose and refilled all the water bowls with fresh water. As all the dogs went about eating their meals Ethan returned to the house to let the dogs enjoy their food in peace.

Kayla

When Ethan re-entered the house after taking care of the dogs outside Kayla was already done eating and was lying down gnawing on an old caribou bone. She watched as Ethan walked around the house he seemed to be getting ready to leave out and as he walked to the door grabbing her harness off of the hook by the door Kayla knew she was right. "Come on Kayla. Time to head into town." he said walking out the door with Kayla following obediently along. The sled was outside on the side of the porch and after putting Kayla in her harness and hooking her up to the sled Kayla pulled off taking the sled and Ethan with her.
