It's more then just the typical haunted house...

1,000 readers have visited --Dollhouse--> since amyreinreaper created it.

Introduction

Through a winding path, in the middle of the woods, there's the cutest little house you ever did see.

Bright pink walls and narrow halls; seems to be built for a doll or three

It's stain-glass windows and wide open door are placed where it's eyes and mouth should be.

I try to rewind, but a chill runs my spine as I realize i'm no longer free.

For it's wide open door is pulling me in as it's stain glass windows stare back at me.

Image

You somehow find your way in to the small, pink house. You can choose to remember how you got in there, or you can choose to forget. The fact is, you're in...and there's no getting out. Many before you have attempted to escape, and the majority of them failed. The small amount that did not fail were the ones who were able to solve the puzzle, complete the mystery and were set free. However, those do not remember what happened to them while they were in possesion of the house, so you could very well be one of them and not even know it. The rules are simple: Stay alive. Solve the puzzle and above all, don't trust ANYONE. Not even yourself...
This is more then just a typical haunted house, this is an asylum. Everything and anything is possible here. This house is a master mind. It takes control of your fears and runs with them, so becareful where you step because your biggest fear can be hiding behind any given door.

Okay, enough of that. To make sure you're clear on what's going on in the Roleplay. There's a puzzle you have to solve in order to be able to leave the house. You can make up the clues, but there's one clue that's certain and very important. I'll drop hints (as my character) here and there to take you in the right direction, but how you find it is entirely up to you. The scary things that happen inside the house are based on the fears of the people in it. As long as you base mostly everything off of those fears, you can make anything happen. Just don't kill anymone please! Not yet anyway... and be careful, not everything you see is real.

Here's the character outline (I'm accepting up to 8 characters. We don't want the house getting too full)

Name:

Nickname(s):

Age:

Gender:

Orientation:

Appearance: (You can either describe, use a picture, or both)

Special skills: (Remember, you are still human)

Personality:

Phobia: (WHat happens inside the house is centered around this, so you do have to have one. Make it a good one!)

The most valueable thing in the world to you is:

That's it! Have fun in there ;)

Toggle Rules

1. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.! Be respectful to others please! No making fun of or criticising other people's posts and/or characters.
2. Post a lot and post often! Aim for 1 post per day.
3. You can create up to 2 characters and if you do create two, make a seperete profile for each of them please!
4. (VERY IMPORTANT!) If you decide you wanna drop this RP for any reason, I won't be mad. Just make sure you let me know! Please don't leave without any warning! I'll very much appreciate it :)

Enjoy! :D

Rein walked silently through the woods. The anger slowly building inside of her "Bastard..." she whispered to herself. She tried to keep herself calm, but she felt like she had hit a dead end. Where was she supposed to go if her own father had thrown her out of the house? Was she supposed to just take it?

Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye she catches a glimpse of a a little pink house hidden within the trees. She hessitated a minute then walked towards it, but soon bakctracked when a sick feeling played at the pit of her stomach. She got back on the trail and kept walking, still lost in thought. She looked around to make sure she wasn't lost, and to her surprise she saw the little pink house yet again. "What the...?" she looked behind her, thinking she had gone in circles but the path had no turns in it. She contemplated the idea of going back, but decided to explore what was in the little house instead. She inched closer untill she reached the door. Then, filled with curiousity, she opened it and stepped inside.

Koda, stifling a yawn, rubbed her eyes with the back of her hands. It was most certainly not an opportune time to be tired, in fact she should be wide awake. Wasn't that part of the human nervous system? Adrenaline kicks in and you become alert? Well, science was failing her. The dark woods was actually -God, this is creepy- lulling her to sleep.

She leaned against a spry tree trunk, turning her gaze to the tree tops. God, it's so dense... She wiped at her shoulders, glanced around, and shivered. She wasn't alert and this place was giving her the heebie-jeebies. Man, science hated her. From genetics and chromosomes to her basic bodily functions. Her eyes darted around the forest until they landed on a very, very out of place object. A pink object, which normally would have put it out of place with just that, but it was a doll house. "A doll house... In the forest," her words came out slowly, pushed by her puzzled tongue. She licked her lips, chewed them, then parted them for a sigh of confusion. Go towards the creeptasticly girly doll house, or continue to wander around in the even more disturbing woods? Decisions, decisions... Koda crept closer and tapped the door open.

Glancing furtively before stepping inside, she reminded herself, It was either a girl's toy or a scary forest. You chose the toy.

Lita growled as she walked, and kicked leafs out of her way. She was rarely in a bad mood, but it was one of those days. After walking a bit more, she noticed something that looked like a doll house little ways down. "What?" she asked herself, walking up to it. She then opened the door, her curiousity getting the best of her. Her eyes watched the little house, and she sighed. Should I go in? Or should I pass it up? She then put her hand on the door, and chose to push the door open. She took a step in, and sighed her body shaking as she grew more nervous. I sure hope I made the right choice.

Stefan walked through the forest, and looked around. "How did I get lost?" he asked himself, sure he was going the right way a minute ago. "Is that a doll house?" he asked, raising his brow as he crept toward it. What is this doing out here? He then looked at it somemore, and then pushed on the door. "I don't know. Maybe I should just turn back" he whispered, pulling his hand away. His curiousness got the best of him, and soon he stepped into the little house without looking back.

Rein walked around cautiously, studying the doors and hallways carefully. This little house, right in the middle of the woods, semmed completely...normal. Just a pink, well-constructed dollhouse. This is so...out of place. Rein thought, trying to put the pieces together. She opened a door and found a very fancy, decorated room with a pink queen sized bed in the middle of the room. There was a stain-glass window behind the top of the bed. The glass made the shape of a rose. Rein stared at it, even more out of place now. Suddenly, she heard the door open downstairs. Crap! I think people actually live here! She stood frozen, and hid behind the wall then waited patiently.

Aidan walked down the dirt path, his mind buried in his thoughts. He didn't care where he was going, he just needed to get away. From everything, school, family, his ex-girlfriends. He hummed along to the song playing through his headphones, when as if out of nowhere, he noticed a small, pink house. He stopped mid-step and turned to study it. Who in the world would live in there? he wondered. He soon noticed that his feet were heading towards the house, even though his head was screaming it was a bad idea. He reached the door and took a deep breathe. "Why not?" he said out loud, then pushed the door open.

Lita looked around, and gulped. "What is this place?" she asked aloud, her eyes kind of scared. She leaned against a wall, and didn't move. "You came in too?" Stefan asked, tilting his head just a bit. "Who are you?" she asked, backing away from him. "Woah...don't be scared, I came in here just as you did" Stefan stated, holding his hands up as a white flag. "Alright..." Lita trailed, walking away. "Wait, we can walk together?" he asked, not really wanting to be alone in someplace he didn't know. "Fine, but don't try anything" she said, walking faster. "Don't worry, I'm gay" he stated, walking ahead of her in three long swift steps.

Lita watched him, and smiled. At least I'm not alone; with a creep. She walked behind him, and heard other noises. Are there other people here!? She then got closer to Stefan, and held on to his arm.

Rein could hear the voices coming from the bottom of the stairs, but she couldn't made out what they were saying. Dammitt. I knew I shouldn't of barged in! She took a deep breath and peaked around the wall at the two people downstairs. Since it was getting dark out and no lights were on in the house she could only see the outline of their bodies. She decided to wing it and quickly ran to the room she had just seen and shut the door as quietly as she could, then leaned up against it.

Aidan crept inside and closed the door "Uh, hello?..." he looked around and the boy and the girl immediately caught his eyes. He gulped, thinking they were the owners of the house and froze in place. Shoot!...I'm SOL now. He stood still with a smile on his face hoping he wouldn't get the cops called on him yet again.

Rein inches closer to the door, but trips on a small rug in front of the door in the process. She loses balance and runs into the door with a loud THUD. "Way to go clumsy!" she whispers to herself. She quickly regains balance and stands frozen still agains the door. With any luck, they didn't hear me.

Samantha looked around herself, being confused as to where she was and how she could have gotten here. She wasn't the type to just get lost in space and not pay attention to where she was going, yet somehow she just magically teleported from the sidewalk of her suburban neighborhood to this forest that she was currently lost in. She blamed her mother. It was bad enough that she constantly nagged her about not being a social butterfly like she was, but then she suddenly kicked her out the house, saying that she needed 'fresh air'. Taking another deep breath she decided to go forwards, even if she didn't know where she was going, maybe she'd come across something.

And she did come across something, a house that could be described as 'doll like' that stood out like a sore thumb in the foreboding forest. Why a house that looked like it belonged in a Barbie's Dream House playset was all the way out here was another question she couldn't answer, ... Actually, maybe it's for the best, She thought as she made her way to the house, figuring that someone who lived here might help her to get out of here. Once she was on the front porch she knocked and waited. No answer. So she knocked again, her mind picking apart the tacky details of the house only served to annoy her further, the fact that there was still no answer didn't help, "Helllloooo, anyone here?" She called, taking a peek in the windows, only to see that the curtains were drawn, "Gaaah," she said in frustration. She looked at the door, should she...? Well, maybe they need help, She thought, though it was obviously an excuse to not have to be stuck out here. So against some of her better judgement, she touched the doorknob and turned it, being half-surprised about it being unlocked. The other half of her was wondering if this was some kind of warning. She finally went inside. She was sure that even Barbie would be disgusted by how much pink there was. She looked behind her when there was sudden noise, the door shutting itself. And as she expected, there was the cliche of it not opening again, "Great..." She muttered.

Julian abruptly set up from the chaise he'd been sleeping on. Voices. He'd heard them distinctly along with the opening and closing of doors. Someone was here. Yet where was here? Frowning slightly as his eyes, full of sleep, tried to adjust to the darkness , Julian sat up.
Where was he? Julian took in his surroundings, a small room. A study perhaps. Rows of books, a desk and a small sitting area comprised the room he was currently standing in. The only clear thought running through the kid's mind was how there were people somewhere beyond these four walls. Someone who could tell him how in the hell he'd gotten there in the first place. The moment Julian tried to remember how he'd come to be in this place his memory fogged up. As if his mind was full of white plumes of smoke.
Sighing loudly he rose to his feet. Shrugging into his jacket he looked at the heavy wooden door. Wondering what could lay beyond. Salvation, perhaps some kind of explanation if he was lucky. Slowly Julian pushed open the door, at least enough to poke his shaggy head through.
"Hello? Anyone out here? I think I might be lost." He called out hopefully. If only Julian could be sure that whoever asnwered his questions would be friendly and not complete homicidal maniacs.

Rein peaked her head out the door and tried to quietly walk down the hallway without being seen or heard by who might of been the owners of this out of place house. She looked around and kept creeping along the side of the wall untill she heard a noise. footsteps it seemed that came from downstairs and a voice coming from God knows where. She paniced and rushed in to the nearest room, noticing a little too late that there was someone in there already. She bumped in to the boy and nearly lost her balance, but managed to stay on her feet. She froze in place, terrified that she had made too much noise. Or that this boy might very well be the owner. "Uhh... I, uh..."

That's when Samatha noticed all the noises in the house, mainly footsteps and voices. Either she was schizophrenic or there were other people. Probably the latter, obviously. If so, then the people here were pretty rude for not answering the door. Not that she wasn't rude, if anything she didn't care as long as that kept most people away from her, but at the very least anyone could have answered with an oh-so-convincing 'No one's home!'. She sighed, she didn't have any other option, did she? She'd probably have to talk to someone who was in the house, maybe they'd help with getting her at least out of this forest. She could hear the floorboards creak as she walked away from the door, but didn't have to go too far to see a girl with bright red hair that contrasted with all the pink in the house almost as much as the house did with the forest, "Hey," She said to the girl, going closer to her, "Your door is locked," She said, probably sounding rude, but she just wanted to get out of here. Seeing this much pink at once had to be lethal, at least to one's sanity.

Julian let out a small gasp of surprise as a girl came out of nowhere, bouncing off of him and beginning to stammer out her own surprise he guessed. Julian hoped perhaps this stranger could tell him where he was, why he was here? Or maybe she was just as lost as he was. Either way he wasn't in it alone anymore. At least for now.
"Hey, are you okay?" Julian asked, holding his hands up to show the obviously frightened girl he was no threat. "Uh, sorry if this is your place, but I just woke up and I have no idea where I'm at or how I got here."All of this came tumbling out of the teenager's mouth as he tried to explain himself. Slowly lowering his arms he tentatively reached out shake her hand. "I'm Julian by the way."

Rein starred at him speachless for a couple of seconds. Her bright blue eyes full of confusion then she felt a wave of relief wash over her. "Um, no, actually I thought it was your place" she said slightly out of breath from the shock. She looked at his hand and half smiled "I'm Rein" she said shaking his hand "Pretty odd way to meet huh? I don't know how i got here either, or how i'm getting out" she slightly blushed when she realized that must of sounded stupid considering there was a door right down the stairs. But she didn't mention that the actual owners might be somewhere down there too.

Simon let go of the girl's hand, who he now knew as Rein and slipped his hands into the pockets of his faded jeans. "Well as great as I am at interior decorating I'm can't even being to take the credit for this place." He said with a bit of humour, a wry grin crossing his thin face as he looked around the strange little room. Poking his head out the door again he saw that no one else seemed to be coming to investigate the noise they'd been making. Julian looked over his shoulder and tried to smile reassuringly at Rein.
"Well seeing as you and I are in the same boat so to speak, not knowing where we are and all, how bout we team up?" Julian asked expectantly, lifting his eyebrows and assuming what he could only hope was a pathetic, pleading face. "Maybe we could take a look around, find a way out. I mean if we ran into someone not as friendly as we are it'd probably be better to have two heads than one, right?"

Rein looked at him and nodded with a smile. "Deal" she said sweetly. She hardly knew the boy, but she was a bit neive in the sense that she trusted anyone. Plus her motherly insticts kicked in. She couldn't let him go off on his now that she met him. Besides, he seemed like a sweet guy. She creeped the door open and peaked her head out then looked back at Julian "shall we go and see if we can find a way out of here?" She asked for his approval.

A genuine smile of relief slid across Julian's face as Rein agreed to his plan to stick together. He didn't plan on letting her know but the last thing on earth Julian could handle right now was being left alone in this place. Not again. He'd already checked his phone and there had been no signal his only chance was to trust there was a reason as to why they were here and that eventually they would find a way out.
Taking a deep breath he nooded at the rather pretty acquaintance he'd just met and stepped toward the door. "Looks like the coast is clear but in all honesty I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing." Silently Julian opened the door and stepped into the hallway. "Now then, which way?" He asked as lightheartedly as he could. There wasn't any reason to panic yet, was there? They were just plopped in some random house with no knowledge of why or when or how. Not scary in the slightest.

Rein looked over at Julian and shrugged. "Well, we're already lost. so any way is a good as an" Rein stated. Somehow that made sense to her, but she knew it actually sounded like nonsense. She gave Julian and innocent smile and motioned for him to go first. She might not know him all that well, but as it was looking at that moment. He was the only person she could trust, and her only help to finding a way out. She also had to help him of course. "I'll be right behind you" she asured him.

"Right, your confidence is inspiring my lady." Julian replied to Rein as he jokingly half bowed to her. Might as well play the brave and charming adventurer for his new friend. Although nothing could be further from the truth. At this moment Julian's stomach was in knots, his nerves were taut with fear and an ever growing feel of impending doom. He surely didn't want Rein to think he was a coward so he would fake it til he made it.
Turning his dark head in either direction he tried to listen for any sound, something anything. Julian was sure he'd heard more than just Rein wandering through this strange house. Maybe if they could find others someone would have some answers. Or the other people wandering around could be incredibly angry homeowners.
"This way I suppose." Julian said as he began to lead the way down the dark hallway. it was unbearably silent and the usually raucous boy didn't think he could stand another minute of it. "So, Rein, what brings you to a place like this?" Julian winced as soon as he said it. "Sorry, I'm nervous, that was stupid." He apologized turning a bright shade of red. "It's just so quiet."

"I guess I'd have to since I have no idea how I got here either and I don't know about you but I'm not much of a liar." Julian casually replied, his dark gray eyes sweeping the dark hallway for any sign of anything. He didn't think Rein would lie to him either, he knew he'd just met her and it might be foolish to trust her. Yet Julian had a good feeling about her and he always trusted his instincts.
"So glad I didn't wake up in there, frightening." Julian mumbled as he feigned a shiver of revulsion. Realizing that Rein might be retreating because of some kind of embarrassment the boy smiled reassuringly at his companion. "That's good that you can remember something, anything might be useful, Rein. At this stage in the game nothing is stupid."
Giving the pink room another glance around he turned to continue down the hallway his thoughts turned inward as he tried to piece together his last memories. "I think I was at home." A look of slight confusion crossed his face. How could he have gotten from home to here?
